Crowded House organised private tours and transfers for our family (of four) from Istanbul Airports to Central Istanbul, Istanbul to Çannakale (tours to Troy and Gallipoli) and then on to Izmir (Tours to Ephesus and Pergamon). Their vehicles were comfortable, spacious and clean and their drivers friendly, helpful and safe. The tour guides were wonderful - very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and excellent at adjusting their tours to meet our interests and knowledge.

Great tour. Wonderful guides with lots of knowledge. There was enough time at the Troy site. Some memorials could be left out for maximizing time.
It took more than one hour to get out of istanbul, due to the very many hotel stops to get people. The driver is talking on the phone while driving, both drivers, on the way to Troy and the return. The food was terrible, very poor quality in our opinion. We found the guide in Troy rude, his jokes offesnsive, and we felt we didn't see the whole troy ruin compound available.
An absolute joy to undertake a tour that was first class from the outset. Guides were so very knowledgable, well prepared and efficient. In the six hours on the island we covered so many sights driven by a safe driver in a clean van. Guides also had historical photos to compare 1915 to present day. A sombering experience for two Kiwis but grateful to honour our past. Crowded House Tours was very good value and highly recommended.
We have just spent a fantastic day visiting Troya & Gallipoli. Gallipoli is a must see and our tour guide Burak was sensational. Very knowledgeable and very friendly ( and funny) . Would highly recommend this tour if your coming to Türkiye
My wife and myself are Irish and although we wanted to visit Suvla Bay and the Anzac areas we really wanted to visit Seed el Bahr and asked Crowded House if they could arrange this. They agreed and the extra money for this addition was not a large amount and so so worth it. We were lifted at our hotel in Istanbul exactly on time and met our guide Ibrahamin at their offices in Eceabat. Ibrahamin was brilliant in the sense that he was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Vey professional and an unforgettable day. Thank you so much
We had a fantastic tour with Burak to Troy and Galipoli. He was very knowledgeable and very funny, and I would recommend him and the tour to everyone. He even went out of his way and found the name of a relative of mine on the Helles point memorial.
Hassan is a truly superb guide. It is not easy to guide people around the battlefields of Gallipoli. The locations are extraordinarily beautiful, but what happened there was almost unimaginably horrible. And, of course, most people are on holiday, although some may be on a personal pilgrimage. Hassan managed a very well-judged combination of empathy, humour, and detail, while giving everybody space to reflect and relax. His knowledge of the Gallipoli campaign is deep. He countered many myths about the ANZAC forces' time there, while being respectful of the importance of Gallipoli in those countries national stories.
Charlie was an excellent tour guide. He was full of knowledge but more importantly, he really made history come alive in how he told the story. He looked after us all very well and made an effort to connect with each person in the group. I highly recommend this tour.
Charlie was an amazing host. Knowledgeable and had a sharp whit! We did a detailed visit of ANZAC Cove and all other relevant areas regarded the New Zealand & Australian points of interest in the 1915 offensive. Great value for money, we both learnt a lot.
Very entertaining and engaging guides that shared a wealth of knowledge. Cindy took us to Troy and we were sorry she was not staying with us. She was pleasant and very smart. Charlie took us to Gallipoli and was the same.
Top guide- very knowledgeable and very good English- thanks so much Burak would totally recommend you to other travelers
We really enjoyed our full day of Troy and Gallipoli. We were picked up on time from our hotel in Çannakale and brought to Troy, where our wonderful guide Cindy told us the fascinating past of Troy's various iterations from over 2000 years ago. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we could have visited the Troy museum on the site, but I understand that is a lot to pack into a full day tour. Afterwards we took the ferry across the Dardanelles and went for lunch in Eceabat, which was simple and only average (but we weren't on the tour for the food!). We changed guides at that point and Ibrahim brought us on to Gallipoli. He was full of knowledge of the background of the battle and the factors that led to the ANZAC/British defeat. We visited so many sites in the Gallipoli Park and I was truly impressed with how gracious the Turks were in commemorating the soldiers that died invading their land. For anyone looking to see a lot of history in a full day then this trip is for you. We began and ended our trip in Çannakale but this group also runs trips to and from Istanbul, given that its about a 4 hours drive each way I would recommend spending a night in Çannakale, otherwise it would be a very long and tiring day.
I had booked the 'Troy and Gallipoli Tour from Çanakkale' through Viator and later discovered that I was charged nearly double the local rate. The tour itself was organized by a local agency, and had I booked directly with them, it would have been much more cost-effective. Based on this experience, I would not recommend using Viator.
I did not look forward to this tour, as war related highlights are outside of my areas of interest. However, the tour guide’s expertise and wonderful presentation converted me. Thank you Burak for this phenomenal experience !
Excellent presentation and guidance from guide Burak. He is highly knowledgeable in the history of the area and has a great sense humour.
Excellent tour overall from pick-up to drop-off, with excellent and timely communication. Our guide Burak was extremely knowledgeable regarding the Gallipoli Campaign. Also very personable and engaging, with a perfect touch of humor. Cannot say enough positive about the overall experience and day. Highly Highly recommend.
Incredible tours! Our guides, Çağrı and Burak, were both awesome and shared so much knowledge about the ancient cities of Troy and Battle of Gallipoli. I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting the area and at all interested in history. 10 out of 10.
Very interesting, both Troy and Gallipoli. Knowledgeable guides who tried their best. Burak is a real Gallipoli expert, who knows quite a bit about Aussie culture too. Well organised by Crowded House.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable . He made it a great day. The people were mainly Australian which was also nice. Thank you
Our day tour to Troy & Gallipoli was one that we will always remember. We were fortunate to have an excellent tour guide in Hasan - hands down the best guide we had in the whole of Turkiye!! His 16 years of industry experience definitely showed - he was knowledgable, detailed & armed with photographic evidence, gracious, empathetic - everything one would wish for in a guide. Thank you Hasan for making our last day in Turkiye not only a memorable one but an educated one!
Great tour very informative and inspirational stories of what happened really enjoyed our day and would recommend it.
This tour was superb ! Very informative and Charlie our guide full of knowledge We were so lucky to have picked this tour It made our holiday !
A wonderful, interesting, history packed day startıng in Troy, amazing to see with my own eyes, the guide very informative. After the ferry across the dardanelles we had lunch followed by a tour around the world war 1 sights of Galipoli, very moving to visit the now peaceful beaches, seeing the trenches and sadly the war cemetries and memorials from both side. The guide here was a real expert, knew his stuff well and i enjoyed listening to him, today was money well spent,i fully recommend going with crowded house tours.
We are a young couple and we did not know anything about this war other than World War One. Today I leave with much respect for those who have the ultimate sacrifice and those forgotten. Wars do not happen just because it changes many lives and shapes the work for tomorrow.
Tour guide (Mr sukru) was intelligent,we'll spoken,we'll learned and patient guide. He answered all questions with impressive depth and made certain I had an unforgettable day visiting the Ruins of Troy.10/10.
Wicked company to travel with, we came from New Zealand for the Gallipoli tour and our guide was Burak who expressed such passion and knowledge it really made the experience memorable. Thank you to Burak and Janke our driver you both were awesome! Until next time. Emma & Scotty your fave kiwis lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What an amazing day my partner and I had on our private tour, Cenk pick picked us up from our hotel in Istanbul first thing in the morning for the drive to Canakkale. Before arriving we stopped at a wonderful restaurant just of the highway for breakfast, where we were introduced to gozleme and turkish tea🤤, you have to try them. When we arrived at Canakkale we met our tour guide Ibrahim. He had fantastic English and could understand us quite well, with only learning it in the last 3 years. The knowledge he had on Troy when we were walking around he made it so fascinating and being shown the difference between the Troys . After Troy we stopped to have lunch at a Turkish restaurant where we had the best kebab we have ever had and the pilaf rice didn't disapoint the taste buds. Once we got to Gallipoli we stopped at several key land marks and had the chance to be told what happened and some of the stories. This meant a lot to me as my family have a strong military background. The most memorable moments were seeing the terrain and hearing about the battles the Anzacs and Ottoman fought over. Then to finish it with an amazing sunset with just my partner and I. Thank you guys you definitely made it memorable.
Awesome full day tour, our guide Hasan made the trip special, full of factual information as well as understanding our sense of humor. Everything was as booked, ran to time and lunch supplied was great! Would recommend!
Ibrahim was my guide for Troy and Burak was my guide for Gallipoli. Really loved the both of them. Pickup was on time and journey was comfortable. Guides had a lot of amazing and insightful knowledge. Really loved the tour! 100% recommended!
The tour included transfer to and from Istanbul on a comfortable late model mini-bus. We were picked up 5 mins walk from our hotel in the morning and driven south to the Gallipoli site. After an excellent lunch we started the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable, passionate and had a good sense of humour. The tour was enlightening, the failed attack on Gallipoli is commemorated in Australia every year, so the site is important to our country. Seeing the key sites, the topography and the scenery made it very real for my family and I. Moreover, we have a much greater understanding of the importance of the campaign for the people of Turkey, and the bond that it creates between the countries that fought on both sides. The independent identities of the Turkish and Australian nations are rooted here. The tour was smoothly run, all staff were courteous and helpful, thoroughly recommended.
Superb. Both tours were excellent, and the drivers and guides who shuttled me around the Dardanelles were courteous and cheerful. The min-vans are brand new, with USB chargers on every seat, and lunch in Eceabat was great. Troy (9:00-10:30am) is a challenging visit, as it has so many layers of history and requires a lot of imagination (it's definitely more of an archeological dig than most ancient sites), but the guide was very good at pointing us at the interesting bits. The Gallipoli leg (1:00-4:30pm) was easily one of the best tours I've ever had, with a passionate guide providing careful sequencing of information to ensure we could place each site in context, helpfully showing us where the best photo spots were, and doing a fantastic job of straddling both the Turkish and Anzac history. Staying in Canakkale made for a comfortable day (8:30am-5:30pm), compared to those who made the early start from Istanbul and were starting to fade by the time we hit Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair.
the tour and guide for galipoli tour were exceptional as we hit all the allied sites and the guide provided wonderful commentary. the troy part was not as compelling/interesting. easily worth it just fir the galipoli part.
We went on the morning private Gallipoli tour with Cagri (Charlie) and afternoon group tour of Troy with Ibrahim (Ibo). Both guides were wonderful, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Charlie even had old photos of various locations at Gallipoli to compare during the tour. Both men take a lot of pride in their work and go to lengths to make it enjoyable (Charlie is further a tourism inspector showing his dedication). The company itself is also fabulous. We booked the tours before travelling to Turkey, through whatsapp with Bhutan. He was so wonderful, he even helped to book a tour to Pammukale after we left Canakkale, and helped arranged transfers to our hotel in Kusadasi. They were all so lovely to deal with, we cannot recommend them enough
Crowded House tours are really organised. Our first guide for Troy was very knowledgeable about the history and the myths. It was a fantastic morning. Then we went across for the Gallipoli tour which was equally informative and very powerful. Burak is a highly energetic guide who is passionate about this part of history. Both parts highly recommended
As part of the Viking Tour via the Viking Sky ship, my wife & I had made a choice of a tour of Troy and the port of Canakkale when the ship docked there. The land tour was through Tura Turizm and the tour guide was a brilliant guy named Ibo. He had a fantastic knowledge and passion not only for the history of Troy but also for the memorial sites for the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign that resulted in a huge loss of life in The First World War which we could see on the hillside when we arrived back at Canakkale. He was really charasmatic which made the infomation he was imparting even more interesting. If you get the opportunity to visit the site of Gallipoli, Canakkale & Troy, besure to ask for Ibo. He had the ease of a seasoned historian but with relaxed personality that made the entire experience unforgettable. Attached 4 photos of the day, there were so many more taken at the site of Troy, too many to choose from.
Thank you to crowded house tours very professional and communication was awesome! Our first part of tour was with Burak at Troy, he was very knowledgeable and really fun! Highly recommend him as your guide. The second part of our tour was with Bulent, excellent guide and very informative of gallipoli. He was lovely with our young boys ages 7 and 14 and interacted with them as well, I really cannot fault anything it was a great day and my family really enjoyed it. Thank you Bulent highly recommend as a guide. Great company to book through with no issues at all.
Thanks Burak you are very knowledgeable and passionate - my family and I really enjoyed our morning tour with you. Great morning ! Highly recommend Burak
Crowded house travel company are amazing to deal with. The Gallipoli tour was superb and I would highly recommend it. Burat our guide was informative, knowledgeable and very very very funny. Having done many tours whilst travelling for the past 14 months he was by far the best guide we have had.
Went on the Gallipoli tour which was really good! Had such an awesome guide, Burak 😊. Who was very knowledgeable. Was about a 4.5hr drive each way from Istanbul, stopped for brekkie, and gave us a lunch. Went into the tour not knowing much and left having such a better understanding of what really happened in 1915 and how much respect each side had for eachother. Very engaging and such a great experience. Lots of stops to the various points of the battle. Would highly recommend
We were very late in booking our tour . But from the minute we paid communication was excellent. Pick up on time from hotel and we were on out way. First stop Troy ..Buick was out guide wat a awesome "bloke" very intune to the aussie spritit and language. Knowledge of the site was excellent he had all the details. Only sad point the horse is under construction but everything else magnificent. Another animal lover who looks, after and helps feeds the dogs. Thankyou it was great. Next stop on the ferry to Anzac island with our new host chardon. We had lunch and then started our tour. I dobt think we would haveclearnt soo much with anybidy else Chardon explained everythig in detail of every stop. We were so lucky ti have him he was fantastic. All the details and dates of the events of those fateful days.. thankyou Chardon for your wealth ofcknowledge. Crowded house was thw best toyr group we had to date
Really well organised. Our tour guide round Gallipoli, Bulant was very friendly and provided great insight. Lunch was tasty too. Highly recommend
My wife, parents, mother in law and I booked this excursion very much looking forward to it, but the actual experience reached far beyond our expectations... beautiful places, excellent explanations and story telling by our guide (whom I don't remember the name of but he told us we could call him Charlie!) Definitely made this trip one of the best ones I've ever been to!
Excellent is an understatement for the operator, especially the guide Charlie (I know I misspelt it. Sorry for that). He knows the history thoroughly. Explains, answers questions and takes us through a timemachine ride. We stayed at çanakkale, they picked us up, even cared for our luggage. It was a great tour for both of us. Heavily recommend this if you devour history. Thank you Crowded House Tours for arranging this tailormade tour.
The tour guide for both components of the tour were phenomenal. The lunch provided was also exceptional.
Our tour was completed in two parts--morning was Troy with one guide (Sukru), then a 1.5 hour break, after which we traveled to and toured key sites of the Gallipolli campaign and peninsula with another guide (Bulent). Crowded House Tours did a good job of picking us up and moving us from one point to the next. Lunch was adequate (nothing special). Both guides spoke excellent English and had superb knowledge of their sites.
We took a full day tour to Troy and Gallipolli, but each on two different days, because we stayed in Canakkale. Both days we were lucky to get Burak as our tour guide. Burak is an experienced professional tour guide. He does not only know all the answers to your questions, but he also knows all your questions before you make them. The only thing we did not understand was lunch at 11.30 which was too early for us, but I think the day was organized like this because the Gallipolli tour takes several hours. Recommended if you are interested in history.
We had an excellent experience with Ibrahim in Pergamo and Troy. Canakkale is a beautiful city with a quieter pace compared to Izmir or Istanbul. Ibrahim knows the story very well and made the tour very entertaining. I definitely recommend it.
It was an amazing experience !!!, our guide very aware of every detail , we enjoyed it very much , we highly recommend it
The visit of Troy was really interesting. The visit to Gallipoli, on the other hand, was a little long and a little redundant because we went around several cemeteries. The dinner was also very ordinary.
