I booked this 2 day overnight tour because it was the only one that also included the “new” (2018) Museum of Troy. (Crowded House Tours). Absolutely loved day 1 Gallipoli tour with Borus, our very knowledgeable & passionate guide! Stayed in the Arthur Hotel in Canakkale which was a good 3 star hotel. Day 2 we had 2-3 hours to explore the Museum on our own, then we were collected by the bus & guided through the ancient site of Troy with another great guide “Sam”. Fascinating place with all its literal layers of civilisation. Highly recommend this tour. If you want to see the museum this is a great option as it’s 35 mins drive from Canakkale & near the site of ancient Troy.

There aren’t enough good words to express how much I appreciate the folks at Crowded House Tours . They bend over backwards to make sure you get everything you wanted in your expectation and Experience. There wasn’t a bad person in the organization. Very Professional !!! And to think I was going to try and do this on my own. 🙈 Bless them
We booked this tour from Australia. Right from the beginning, the company was engaging, helpful and responsive to our emails and any questions we had. The tour pick up, from our Istanbul hotel was on time, the bus driver was friendly and got us to the meeting point as expected. Included lunch was good, a vegetarian meal request was no problem. Our guides were friendly, informative, knowledgeable and engaging, making both the Gallipoli and Troy tour experiences memorable and meaningful. The overnight accommodation was excellent. The return transfer to Istanbul was direct, with no issues. The tour experience, right from the initial stage was excellent and well organised - we have no hesitation in recommending this tour company and the 2 day/ 1 night Gallipoli and Troy tour. Thanks Crowded House Tours! 🇦🇺
This was a complicated trip with many interchangeable parts but it was handled flawlessly. All guides were good and hotel was ok. Breakfast in hotel was excellent. Hotel Artur. Saw lots of cool things and was treated great throughout.
Very good guides. Braheim knew everything about Gallipoli and Charlie was funny and well versed about Troy. Nice hotel and museum was very interesting
A superb history lesson in both Gallipoli and Troy with a lovely and relaxing stay in Canakkale. Our guide, Hasan, was a book of interesting knowledge on both areas, funny, and able to answer all our questions. I couldn’t imagine doing either of these places without a guide, you’d be a bit lost. Would highly recommend.
The tour was well worthwhile - Cindy the guide on both the Gallipoli and Troy tours was excellent. We stayed the night at Canakkale in an excellent 3 star hotel. We visited the Troy Museum in the morning of the second day - this is a well worthwhile option in the morning with the tour of the Troy site in the afternoon. It should be noted that the tour does not actually commence until reaching Crowded House office near Gallipoli - a four hour drive from Istanbul . Although there was what we thought was a tour guide from Istanbul on the 12 seater bus he spoke little English. Apparently a printed card outlining the arrangements plus advising of refreshment stops along the way was not on our bus . Still a great tour and a great memory
Ebrahim was an amazing tour guide for the 2 days doing the Gallipoli and Troy tour. Everything was well organized and value for money. One thing that is a concern is the speed that the drivers all drive. The drive from Istanbul to Ecebat was driving at about 130km/hr. The driver from Cannakale to Troy we had to ask to slow down as multiple people were concerned. Then the driver in Van 187 drove us back to Istanbul up to speeds of 132km:hr and swerved at this speed. This is not factoring in the safety of the people on the tour and is extremely scary. Please tell your drivers to slow down! There will be a very bad accident one day if they don’t drive at the correct speeds.
We had the best time! We couldn’t recommend the tour and this company more and will be telling all our friends about it! Our driver Tom was outstanding and our guide Ibrahim made the history come to life! We had a brilliant time - thank you!
This trip was epic! Our guide Cindy was amazing and very knowledgeable. This was a bucket list trip we’ve wanted to do for years and it was perfect! Especially loved that it was a small group ❤️
A wonderful Tour from Istanbul to Gallipoli and Troy staying overnight in Cannakkale. Professionally run, good food and great accomodation. Whilst I enjoyed the whole tour, the absolute highlight for me was Gallipoli with Burak, his knowledge, sensitivity and group management skills were fantastic. The passion and flare he added to the tour really enriched the experience and lent depth to such a sombre, sensitive snd emotional place and period in history. As an Aussie with family assoociations to Gallipoli it was an important pilgrimage for me and I am grateful for having this opportunity.
We had an excellent experience with Crowded House tours doing a tailored version of the Gallipoli and Troy tour, adding in a local winery. They even made changes along the way to ensure we got back to Istanbul in time for an unexpected appointment. The tour was absolute quality, from pick up, ferry crossing, touring and the wealth of information provided by Hassan. He really enhanced our understanding of the battles fought along the Dardenelles and the Gallipoli campaign. His in depth information about Troy also meant that we got a lot more out of visiting the ancient site and understood all the layers of civilisation represented by the ruins. Would 100% recommend.
Absolutely awesome experience, the guide Hasan was amazing, we both learnt so much. Would highly recommend this company to everyone
Burak the guide was hilarious and very knowledgeable and passionate about the ANZAC history. Highly recommend! He also went out of his way to revisit a site after a friend of mine said they had relatives in one of the cemetery’s we had visit he allowed me to go back to get photos for them back in Australia!
I traveled with my family, but I was under a different booking as I was a solo traveler. Well organize, friendly guides.. The one night accommodation was a nice hotel in the central of town. They gave us a lot of time at the Troy Museum, more than we needed. Nice, comfortable, clean mini bus.
Good communication, well organized. People spoke good english and we could understand them easily. Nice comfortable bus. Offered to help us find a grave if we knew anyone buried there. We stayed in a nice Canakkale hotel in the centre of town which gave us breakfast.
We did a 2 day tour from Istanbul and having been on many tours over the years, Crowded House Tours have to be the most well oiled experience I have had. Everything is on time, excellent quality guides, Cindy and Ibrahim, a fleet of new vehicles, great communications throughout and just did a good job! It’s a 4 hour trip down from Istanbul with a stop at a services with the cleanest toilets I have seen and time for some refreshments. You arrive in Gallipoli for lunch and then off you go. The hotel overnight was average but convenient although the air con in our room sounded like a diesel tractor but that wasn’t the tour operators fault. Our friends air con was ok so we were unlucky. Great trip and very interesting.
Our tour guide Charlie was great, funny, serious and very knowledgable. The drive from Istanbul is ~4.5hrs. Highly recommend going on this tour.
Best organised tour I’ve done. Tour guides Barak and Cindy were exceptional so informative highly recommended the overnight accommodation clean and very comfortable
The people on our tour bus, the paying customers, were great fun, and our driver "Matthew" was very personable and obliging, and our tour guide, Borek, was a lot of fun and would make a great standup comedian, but apart from that his knowledge of Gallipoli was outstanding
Tour was well organised and very informative. Tour guide Ibrahim was very nice and humorous. Pick up from hotel was easy and convenient.
Absolutely fantastic!! Everything was so well organised. All the transfers, accommodation, communication was excellent. The best part was the amazing guides - Burak and Charles! Thank you both so much for making our two days so wonderful. The buses are new, modern and clean. The drivers groom Istanbul and back were excellent. We have a 17 and 13 year old and they also had a great time. Would highly recommend this company!
Hasan & Charlie were wonderful and informative guides. They gave an amazing experience and would recommend them for anyone traveling solo!
We had a fantastic time on this Crowded House tour. Everything was very well organised with a pick up from our hotel in Istanbul in the morning, a transfer to Eceabat for lunch, then on to Gallipoli. Our tour guide was excellent and provided a thorough and interesting history of the area. It was especially poignant for us as Kiwis, to visit Chunuk Bair. Then on to Cannakkale by ferry, staying the night in a good hotel and then on to Troy the next day. We booked the tour which included the museum of Troy, which was well worth it for a history buff and gave a good background of Troy before we took the tour itself. After the tour, a transfer back to Istanbul straight back to our hotel. An excellent trip to a fascinating area with a lot of history, we would highly recommend!
My husband and I had a fantastic time on the 2 Days, 1 Night Gallipoli and Troy Tour, and the team went out of their way to accommodate us. Since we were staying at an Airbnb in a hilly area in Taksim, they pre-emptively arranged for us to be picked up at a nearer hotel (even closer than the one advertised in the tour description), which made things much easier for us. On the first day, our driver, Tamer, was incredible, handling really thick fog on the way to Eceabat with confidence and skill. Once we tried speaking a bit of basic Turkish, his personality really came alive, and we had some lovely (albeit broken!) exchanges. Half way, we stopped at a Shell station that had the cleanest and most high-tech toilets we’ve ever seen (seriously, Japanese toilets pale in comparison), along with affordable snacks and drinks. The lunch that was included on the day was nothing special in term of Turkish best of the best cuisine but fine for a much needed quick meal. At Gallipoli, our guide, Burak, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and his explanations brought the site’s history to life for us, particularly through his clever use of visual aids. A true animal lover too, who introduced us to all the local dogs (whom he had a bag of dog food to feed), foxes and even a jackal at the tour stops! A truly memorable moment too was when Tamer found some old bullets in one of the trenches and generously gave them to us as a keepsake, which was really touching and for which we are very grateful. The 3* Arthur Hotel we stayed in was surprisingly good and very well located. Clean and comfortable, with a great breakfast featuring a proper Turkish spread. Staff were super kind and polite. The only downside was that the room was a bit too warm even for winter (we could not figure out how to reduce the temperature although I’m sure front desk could have helped) - and as non-smokers, we could faintly smell tobacco from previous guests, though it wasn’t a big deal (so maybe that’s one thing to check with guests beforehand, if they would prefer a smoking or non-smoking room if available). On the second day, the Troy museum was great. At Troy itself, our guide, Charu, was full of fascinating insights and really made the ancient city’s history easy to connect with and picture. Through a game he made the different layers of the city over the centuries really easy to remember. Our driver for the return leg, Süleyman, was just as wonderful, and after dropping off the other passengers, once he saw we learnt some very basic Turkish, he got super enthused and gave us a surprise “mini-tour” of Istanbul as we made our way to our accomodation, kindly pointing out landmarks and chatting with us as my husband and I happily fumbled through some more Turkish. Overall, the tour was smooth and well-organised, and the drivers and guides made it a truly memorable trip that we’d happily recommend to anyone. My one tip is that during this part of our trip we purposefully booked the cheapest of our Airbnbs in Istanbul so we could leave our bags safely in our accomodation there, whilst just taking a light overnight bag with us. The vans had space for the suitcases people brought with them, but some of our fellow tour members looked well and truly miserable with their numerous big bags! It made the early start and late return much easier too as we had left stuff for dinner in the fridge there, waiting for us on our return after day 2.
Easy to book, tours were great. Thanks to Ramazan for all his help. Tour guides were exceptionally knowledgeable and we got so much more than we expected from this trip.
Excellent tour in every way. Highly recommended. Punctual, condiderate, friendly, extremely knowledgeable tour guide (Ibrahim) + value for money overall. As Australians, a very special visit to a very special place. A very moving experience. The Gallipoli Peninsular is sacred soil to Turkey as well as to the ANZACs and the many other nationalities which were part of the invading forces in 1915. The benevolence of Ataturk in particular and of Turkey in general in helping cherish the memories of ALL those whose lives were lost in those terrible 9 months in 1915 is truly remarkable. What a great 2 days Charlie - Troy Barak- Gallipoli Both were amazing guides and extremely knowledgeable and fun. Accomodation was great- very clean and great location Fully recommend these guys Make sure you confirm where you are being picked up from
Our day in gallipoli was informative & interesting. Our guide was good and our hotel was excellent. Next day in Troy was fantastic the museum was great and the ruins were amazing so much more there than was expected. Definitely worth the 2 days.
From the 1st contact with Ramazan from Crowded House everything went smoothly. Picked up on time in Istanbul and transported to Crowded House's office then to the restaurant for lunch where we met our guide Borak. He was exceptional in his knowledge of both Gallipoli and Troy and with all the Aussie slang he's picked up very entertaining. This was definitely the best way to experience Gallipoli and Troy and Crowded House made the tour so easy from start to finish 👌
The guides were excellent. Very knowledgeable and so lovely. The staff looked after us very well. The hotel was lovely and the bus comfortable. I would use this company again and highly recommend.
Brilliantly organised customised private tour set up on request by Crowded House, and excellently delivered by Singe, Ibrahim & Mr Sinan. Travel from Istanbul was seamless, the guided visit around Troy was essential for understanding a fascinating and complex site, and around Pergammon helped bring these beautiful ruins to life.
Crowded House Tours did a very good job organising this for me. Pick-up was just on time, and the driver was very welcoming and entertaining. He also got us everywhere safely. The Gallipoli Tour was first, and it was amazing. The tour guide (I'm sorry, I do not remember names) was a local from Çanakkale and knew quite a lot about the Gallipoli campaign (more than what us Aussies are taught 😅). He was also very entertaining and was able to lighten the mood when needed. He also knew quite a lot of aussie slang, which got a lot of laughs. He was also very happy to answer any extra questions anyone had and offered to help find any relatives that may have passed in the campaign. After the Gallipoli Tour, I was taken by another guide on a ferry across the Dardanelles towards Çanakkale. I was then shown to my accomodation which was very nice, although due to the location it was quite loud at night (it sits right above the bars) so if you're a light sleeper maybe let them know. The next day, I was driven to the Troy museum, and again, the driver was very friendly and helpful. I was given plenty of time to visit the museum before I needed to be picked up by the rest of the group to go to the archaeological site. Again, the tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful and entertaining, too. After the tour, we were taken back to Çanakkale to take the ferry back across the Dardanelles and were allocated into buses to head back to Istanbul. Overall , I had a great experience and would definitely book with Crowded House Tours again. The only thing I might add as a bit of info for anyone doing these tours on a tight schedule, the drive back to Istanbul was delayed by about 1-1.5 hours due to heavy peak hour traffic.
My husband, daughter, and I went on this two-day tour. We had a great time, and our tour guides were very well-informed. The visit to Troy was very surprising, I am glad we added the second day. We liked Canankkale a lot, had some free time to ourselves, and liked the cafes and restaurants by the seashore. Thank you for such a well organized and informative tour. We highly recommend this tour.
The whole tour was brilliant. The Troy museum was especially fantastic. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. Everything was well organized.
Our group of 4 did this tour. It was very good. Well organised. Arrangements worked well and our guide, Charlie, was excellent. We stayed overnight in Cannakale. Excellent tour.
Efficiently organisation, Easy booking Very professional guides, specially a Gallipoli and a Troy as well Good vehicles and good drivers Personally I’ve appreciated the possibility of visiting the new Museum of Troy Highly recommend
Of the various options available by Crowded House tours, the two days is the best choice to see Troy since it includes the New Troy museum and the opportunity to see the gold and treasures excavated from the archeological site. Some of the people on our tour just booked the day trip from Istanbul, which is almost ten hours on the road total for just an hour and a half walk around the ruins of Troy. Gallipoli was an interesting addition, well worth the time for the history and monuments. Burak and Sindy were wonderful guides, very amusing and fun to talk to. Burak could be a stand up comedian he is so funny. The only caveat of the overnight trip is that the Anzac Hotel is very basic, as expected for a budget tour, but we experienced some plumbing issues. Plenty of great restaurants nearby for dinner in Canakkale. Take the extra time for all the great experiences, the highlight being 100% the New Troy Museum.
We have been travelling for 5 weeks from Australia and the Gallipoli tour with Crowded house was definitely a highlight. Burka was our tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and made the day unforgettable. A must do tour.
These guys go the extra mile. They help is any way possible. It’s just a great experience from start to finish. Will be using again.
Really enjoyed this trip arranged by Crowded House Tours. Got picked up at scheduled time 6.30am at my hotel in a Mercedes Sprinter people carrier, warm and comfortable. We had breakfast at a roadside cafe at approx 9.30am which we purchased ourselves and then a simple but decent lunch at a restaurant at approx 1pm which was included in the tour. The afternoon was spent driving around the Gallippoli Peninsula approx 2pm-5.30pm with a fantastic guide called Bulent, whose knowledge and information really made the day, really brought it alive, everyone agreed they really understood what had happened here, after completing the tour. Hotel in Cannakale overnight was very satisfactory, loads of excellent eating places near the hotel and we loved walking along the lively port esplanade in the evening and morning. Breakfast was provided by the hotel and we all found great coffees nearby. Got picked up at 10am and taken to the Troy Museum, a really super new building with great displays & information that brought the story of the discovery of the Troy site and its treasures to light. Would have been great if some of the treasures hadn't been stolen by a German archeologist and taken to Berlin, and had instead been in situ in Troy, but there was still lots to see. After the museum and lunch at a nearby cafe, the site tour was conducted by an excellent, upbeat and very humerous guide, who was very knowledgeable. We had dinner at a roadside cafe at about 7pm and arrived back in Istanbul about 10pm. A long but very enjoyable tour, recommended. Take good walking shoes, hat & sunnies (and a warm puffy jacket if going in November).
An amazing experience from start to finish. Ramazan (manager), his staff, and our guide Burak were truly excellent throughout. I have done several WWI battlefield tours and this was up there with the best. I travelled from Istanbul on 1st morning, and saw Troy on the 1st afternoon. The guide was an very knowledgeable local archeologist and historian. Crowded House Tours (CHT) organized a nice hotel in Çanakkale for my overnight stop. Morning 2 Cape Helles, and afternoon 2 ANZAC Cove area. In addition to the standard group tour of the Australian and New Zealand beaches, I wanted to see the British and French Landings on Cape Helles. Ramazan organized a private tour for me of Cape Helles with a cab driver and local guide Burak. Burak was very knowledgeable, delivered the history in a balanced and sensitive way, was funny and great company. A New Zealander on our group afternoon tour, had only basic details about a relative who died in the campaign. After some research, Burak found his unit and took them to the memorial where his name was commemorated...a lovely touch. CHT are trustworthy as well, Ramazan even waited for me to be present to charge my credit card, something he didn't have to do. Great value for money at €220 all in (transfers, hotel, 2 lunches). There are regular stops, but consider taking some snacks and water for the long minibus journey. I would really highly and thoroughly recommend them.
We contacted several companies to do the Gallipalli / Troy tour from Istanbul as it was a daunting task to do a self organized tour having to negotiate transportion, hotels, etc. It turned out to be the better and cheaper option as all the finer details were looked after for us, all we had to do was sit back and enjoy the tours, and exchange stories with other interesting travellers! We enjoyed the tours so much that we also booked the tour to Pumakkale with Crowded House. Even with Ramadhan and us not speaking any Turkish, Ramazan Altunas who is the Manager of Crowded House responded to all our enquiries, the guides were knowledgeable, lunches were good and they were always on time. Crowded House is a local business providing quality service at a competitive price!
We are a family of three and booked a private two-day tour of Gallipolli and Troy in late February 2022. Everything was very convenient and Crowded house were very quick to respond to any questions we had. We requested to see the museum of Troy (which was not included in their usual tour at that point), but they made sure to adjust the schedule and our guide even accompanied us to the museum and gave us an extra tour of the museum! Bulent, our guide for Gallipolli, knew EVERYTHING there is to know about Gallipolli. Both our guides during the two days were highly knowledgable, enthusiastic and so friendly. Highly recommend this tour agency!
Excellent organisation of trip. Ramazan always prompt to reply to emails. My requests kept changing but he kept emailing. Tour guides on both tours were excellent.
Omer, from the Istanbul agency, organized a tour just for us, which included Ephesus and Troy in 2 days. Followed very well. Everything is perfect. No detail was overlooked. Grazie mille! Enrica and Fabrizio
