Ryan was an amazing guide. A perfect relaxing way to see Cambridge. A bit difficult to find the desk as it was so busy with other companies and people. If you do one thing in Cambirdge do this, much cheaper mid-week
Sam B. was a great advocate for the company. He shared lots of interesting and funny information about our trip and Cambridge in general. Thank you for a great trip.
It was great to get on the river and have our guide tell us about Cambridge. It was a lovely way to see the university and to learn more. The people checking us in were super helpful and friendly and efficient. We did tip our guide and it was just the right amount of time. Still had plenty of time to explore the lovely town on our own. Would absolutely do this again. You can take your own drinks and snacks with you. Great way to spend part of your time in Cambridge!
It was very enjoyable to cruise along the Cam, Peaceful, interesting sights, pretty views and lovely to learn some history.
We really enjoyed our trip down the Backs as did our cocker spaniel Lucy. We had not prebooked but almost immediately got a space on a trip. Luke who punted us was very knowledgeable, friendly, gave lots of information but also got to know everyone on the punt. It was very relaxed and good fun, great value for money.
My husband and I booked a shared tour with this company and it did not disappoint. Arun looked after us all very well, was knowledgeable and funny and helped us all on and off the boat. This is something I have wanted to do for a while and we are both glad we did. Thank you Arun!
We had a fantastic punting tour today, a beautiful tour on a beautiful, sunny day. Our guide Arun was super friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour! Would definitely recommend this to friends
We had an amazing punting tour in Cambridge with Ryan “Air” as our guide. He was hands down the best tour guide — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and funny throughout the trip. We learned so much from his detailed explanations while also having a fantastic time on the river. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cambridge!
Our guide Said was really lovely. Very informative and funny. Such a lovely experience. Thank you so much
What a great way to see the colleges and bridges of Cambridge! Out guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable and calm. Just right for an early morning on the river. He said we’d picked the right time to go (early morning in March) as in the summer months it can get very busy. I would highly recommend this tour - and do ask for Matt if he’s about! 😁
We did the one hour shared tour with our two children. Exceeded our expectations, was a lovely way to see Cambridge and the colleges. Dan HP, our tour guide was very knowledgable and a great guide! Thanks Dan!
Did the group 1 hour punting tour - a great experience at a good price. The guide was Matt and he was very knowledgeable and also made the trip fun. The company was professional and communication about the trip, and pre-trip information was excellent. Would definitely recommend the company, and Matt as the guide. Thanks Matt and Traditional Punting Comapny - a great experience
Highly recommend this traditional punting company. It’s the perfect way to see Cambridge, including the colleges and the bridges. Sayid was fantastic, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and really informative throughout the tour. We paid £50 for three of us on a shared boat, which was great value. Would definitely do it again!
We booked this for Mothers 70th just because none of us had ever done it! It was fun! The office were just blooming lovey when I rang up (another company prior were not!) They shared a discount code, pulled the stops out for a bday and even when I got lost on the day (because I am incapable of checking emails not because they didn’t give crystal clear instructions they did, when I rang I was guided to location, offered to swap time spots etc). James our ‘man’ was super: it is a shame he supports Ipswich FC but other than that he was very honest, knowledgeable and pleasant and I had a lot off odd questions - I’m really pleased we had a lovey guide! Ring and book… they’re sound!
We had Adam as our punting guide with The Traditional Punting Company and he was fantastic. He was friendly, informative and clearly very knowledgeable about Cambridge and its history. He made the tour feel relaxed and enjoyable, and even switched to speaking Chinese for some of the other guests, which was really impressive and thoughtful. Would highly recommend Adam if you’re booking a punt tour!
Our punter was Ben F who was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history along the river. There was 4 of us and our 2 dogs seated next to Ben and another couple the other end of the boat who didn’t interact at all. I would definitely recommend this as worthwhile and excellent value for money. Many thanks Ben!
Great way to view Cambridge. Elias was such a great tour guide as well as a skillful punter!! Well done, keep up the good work and great sense of humour. made our day
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience punting today; our chauffeur, Elias, was informative, friendly and interesting! Thank you very much!
Massively disappointed with this. We did a punting tour 4 years ago which was excellent (different company) This time felt rushed, lack of correct knowledge and quite frankly the punter couldn’t wait to finish. Lack of enthusiasm left us flat and not worth the money. It was also cramped, uncomfortable and didn’t feel leisurely Would choose another company next time
It was good, interesting from seeing Cambridge from a different angle, paid a bit extra to get just two seats together, but not sure that’s worth doing
Great trip to see the sights with Daniel HP giving informative interesting tour, learnt a few things I didn’t know and was a pleasant trip
We loved our punting experience. Harry was our punter and he did a great job giving historical facts with some humor mixed in. Booking on line was super easy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Cambridge
We really enjoyed our boat tour. We were a group of 9 ranging from age 12 to 50. The views were beautiful and our tour chauffeur, Olly, was fantastic. He had lots of interesting facts and knowledge to share and was just a lovely guy. We couldn’t be happier with the experience.
Had our first ever punting tour in Cambridge yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. Our tour guide Matteo, had only been doing it two weeks but he was excellent 👌. Great knowledge of the history and kept it interesting. He was very courteous from start to finish, a true professional. Price was very competitive too. Would highly recommend this tour company.
We were 5 of us with 3 of them outside uk. We also came in December with other set of family. Found your company’s tour guides are expert in speaking with that sense of humour. We booked online and we really liked the service provided with promptness. Today Luke did exceptionally well & he is a very good speaker with good intonations while he spoke with lots of enthusiasm and good pitch . He does have good sense of humour too. We really enjoyed his speaking while he did the punting. Best wishes for your exams and for your future Luke.
We were recommended Traditional Punting tours by our Airbnb host. Pre-booked the day before, easy instructions to find the boat. Very knowledgeable and fun host, Luke, chauffeuring us. Felt very safe under his guidance, trip was about 45 minutes in total and a lovely way to see Cambridge from the river. The blankets provided for warmth were much appreciated on a chilly day!
We loved our punting river trip today. Sam was a great chauffeur and made the trip engaging, fun and informative. Would definitely recommend.
Five friends and myself had a brilliant time with our guided punt tour. Zanda was our tour guide and found him to be very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. Would definitely recommend using this Punting company.
Fab punting experience - very professional, friendly and educated commentary and worth every penny. Learned absolutely loads. Extremely memorable.
Highly recommend using Traditional Punting. Stress free experience from booking, receiving confirmation, through to the trip itself. The departure point is a short walking distance from where the larger competitor operates (clear instructions are provided,) but this was better value compared to the prices offered by the competitors. The guide Edward who did our punt trip was really excellent - engaging, knowledgeable, and informative but with a relaxed and humorous nature.
A very relaxing tour on the river Cam with Arthur at the helm who was so very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this value for money tour. A great way to see some of the architectural buildings Cambridge has to offer.
Had a brilliant with Traditional Punting Company. Sam was our guide and he did a great job. He told us some great information whilst on the boat. This trip on the river was the highlight of our weekend. Brilliant job Sam!
Had a fabulous experience with Sam, he made our trip down the river extra enjoyable with all the knowledge and history behind the colleges. Thoroughly enjoyed every second! Best part of my hen weekend. Thanks Sam!
What a lovely trip this was. Despite the fact it was chucking it down our Punter Sam was incredible. We were enlightened on the history of Cambridge whilst peacefully drifting down the water. I would highly recommend this even in the rain. A good laugh with the family with umbrellas and blankets provided.
Really good tour. Very knowledgeable driver who was very patient with young children on board. Our twelve year old grandson also had a great time which I think surprised him. He wants to return with his family. Staff very caring and excellent with our safety.
Very easy to find the starting place and very friendly personals work there to welcome visitors. Booked here and called the company to arrange the time for Punting. We hade a best young guide with a humor. a a good price, as visitors. If we can buy ticket directly and confirm by email, it will be perfect.
Enjoyed a lovely New Year’s Day punt with Ryan! They allowed the dogs and bonus as we had the boat to ourselves!
This was such a fun way to see Cambridge. I had a lovely guide named Lachlan, who made the trip very enjoyable with his wonderful story telling. I recommend this company and this trip to anyone in the area! A great trip alone or with family/friends.
We booked this last minute for Saturday 25th November. What a lovely experience. Zak our guide was so friendly and made us all feel at ease - even the nervous member of the group. He gave us useful information but didnt overload and was very chatty and engaged in conversation. It was a lovely trip down the Cam learning about the various colleges of the university and local history.
Fantastic tour with Luke ...so friendly, confident and loud and clear!... Mix of facts and fun anecdotes ...highly recommend
Our group took one of the shared punting tours with Tom G., what an excellent trip. Tom G. was very knowledgeable, pleasant with all of the guests and led a very entertaining chauffeured punting experience. I highly recommend Traditional Punting and Tom G. If you are considering punting on The River Cam.
We had a shared punt tour today. Sam was our tour guide and was excellent, lots of facts and history shared with us. Highly recommend this experience. Thank you Sam
Excellent experience with Noah as our chauffeur. We really enjoyed his commentary and he was able to answer all our questions.
We had a great time along the Cam in beautiful sunshine. We live locally but it’s still interesting to hear all about the history of the university and to take in all the architecture. Our guide, Ben R (I hope we got the initial right!) was knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend.
Our tour was narrated by Tom B, he made the tour informative as well as interesting & amusing (losing his pole). It was my partners first punt and was perfect as part of his birthday celebration. Highly recommend your company. Many thanks Caro & John
A really lovely way to see Cambridge! Our tour guide Alex Blake (hope I got the name right!) was so friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and giving us loads of great information about all the sights - would definately recommend!
Fantastic way to see Cambridge and the colleges. The Cam is a beautiful, tranquil river and we were lucky to have a sunny day for our tour. Our guide, Jasper, gave us lots of background about the colleges in a very witty and enjoyable way. The Cam was fairly crowded with punts - many were hired by customers who were chauffeuring themselves with pretty chaotic results. We were in awe of Jasper's deft handling of our punt amidst the chaos. The tour was about 45 minutes and we enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend this company and this chauffeur!
Fantastic experience! Jasper, our guide, was knowledgeable and funny. Cambridge is beautiful when seen from the river. We all loved the trip and would definitely book again.
We were supplied with umbrellas & dry seating in the rain. Very enjoyable tour. Sam our guide was witty & knowledgable. Would recommend
