Itinerary
Cambridge is not just about folklore and ghost tales—it’s also a city of science. Discover how science and the supernatural come together in this remarkable city of explorers of the otherworldly.
Visit one of the nicest parts of Cambridge, which hides a darker past. Long ago, it was the site of horrific executions and terrible acts tied to heresy and witchcraft. Beneath its calm today lies a history of fear and suffering.
Learn about a quiet bookshop believed to be haunted by the friendliest ghost in Cambridge. Keep your senses sharp—something unseen may be close.
Why does the upper floor of the pub always have a draft? It’s not as simple an answer as you may think!
Walk across Free School Lane and sense the lingering darkness some say still hangs in the air. Many believe the energy of this place quietly permeates the street even today.
Learn about Corpus Christi, a college wrapped in silence but heavy with unsettling tales. Behind its dark walls linger stories of restless figures, unexplained noises, and shadows that don’t belong.
The oldest college in town hides the secret of the most famous and recent ghost haunting, which caught the attention of the whole nation. To this day, no one truly knows what happened.

We enjoyed an excellent ghost tour on Halloween, led by Megan. It’s was foggy and chilly and wonderfully atmospheric; Megan was a great storyteller and we enjoyed hearing all the local ghost stories against the eerie backdrop of centuries old beautiful buildings and narrow cobbled streets. A really wonderful way to spend all Hallows Eve, rather than the usual trick or treating!
The tour was an excellent account of some of the more ‘other worldly’ history of Cambridge; ranging from witch trials through to ghostly apparitions seen not too long ago in some of Cambridge’s oldest colleges. Megan, our tour guide, was highly engaging - she offered the opportunity for anyone to ask questions, gave good answers, and her delivery genuinely cultivated intrigue and interest.
Good tour and great guide Meghan. Interesting stories and the benefit of atmospheric mist!
Megan was a great tour guide! Very spooky and awesome at story telling!
I had a wonderful tour. Our tour guide (i sadly forgot her name but she studied medieval texts I believe) did a wonderful job, telling these stories in an engaging way. I loved listening to her and could've gone an hour more just to hear more about Cambridge from her. Sadly, no ghosts were seen but I had an amazing time nonetheless.
Sophia was amazing. We had so much fun.. it wasss spoookkyyyyy!! And her coat to die for and come back to haunt for.
My husband and I were 2 of just 4 people on the tour, so I thought it might be a bit awkward or dull - far from it. Our Cambridge Alumni guide, Sophie/Sophia, was very engaging and knowledgeable and kept the tour lighthearted and fun. She also pointed other things of interest, such as the Dinky Doors and Corpus Christi clock. Had we not had a discount, I think the price per person would have been a little too much for 1 hour, but on balance still worth it.
Our tour guide, John C, was excellent. Great to be shown around this beautiful city by a Cambridge graduate who has now lived here over 30 years. He knew everything! John was so nice and welcoming. I have to be honest - I do think over £20 per person (including children) is a lot of money. We booked because it was a one off and we did really enjoy it.
Great little hour of exploring a different side the city. Sophia was an excellent guide and my 11yr old loved it.
We had a tour with Sophia as our guide. She was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting ghostly tales, which we thoroughly enjoyed!
We had an amazing time learning the spooky history. Sophia was an excellent, engaging tour guide!!
Fun tour, weather was terrible but great story telling and good to learn a bit about Cambridge and the university along the way.::
Rob our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable in the history of the colleges and surrounding area. A great way to see the city in the dark, very atmospheric with macabre tales.
Very good tour and tour guide had lots of stories to share
Very entertaining stories and a lovely tour guide, Megan, who was very informed and friendly. Would definitely recommend to someone else!
Megan was so kind, approachable and explained everything so patiently. We had a wonderful time with her exploring the city and listening to the spooky stories.
Megan was amazing! It was a lovely tour!
Megan was amazing would highly recommend, chill down my spine!
Had a great tour with John C. He was entertaining and informative and really brought the ghost tour alive (or back from the dead!)
A very interesting tour. Was the perfect length and mix of facts and stories. Really allowed us to see another side of Cambridge. John was incredibly knowledgeable and obviously interested in the stories!
A nice unique way to explore the folk lores of Cambridge. Francisco was a great knowledgeable and interesting guide.
We loved Robert, he was a great tour guide filled with a wealth of knowledge about the history of Cambridge. He went above and beyond! Thank you!
We did the 6pm "Cambridge After Dark" ghost tour tonight and it was absolutely fantastic! Our guide, Francesco was incredibly engaging, witty, and a master storyteller. He brought the history and spooky legends of Cambridge to life with the perfect balance of humor and mystery. He made it feel so authentic and personal. If you are in Cambridge, this is a highly recommended fun activity! Thank you, Francesco, for a memorable evening!
Great fun and learning, sad about the rain! We will retrace our steps again today.
Fantastic tour with Shalvi last night (apologies if we've spelt this incorrectly!), she was so engaging and a great storyteller. Heard some delightfully spooky and quirky stories , it was a lot of fun!
Annie was our tour guide and she did a fantastic job. There were only a handful of us so it was quite intimate and Annie was really knowledgeable and described all the stories in lots of detail
Annie was fantastic, was very well informed and answered all our questions. Thank you
Megan was already waiting at the meeting point when we arrived and throughout the tour was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. The content was very interesting and Megan was a great guide. The tour itself gave a good insight into the history of Cambridge and helped us with suggestions of places to visit for the remainder of out stay. We would highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to have Megan as you guide you are in for a treat.
Lovely tour, lots of good stories. Megan was very friendly as well as knowledgeable - weather was dreadful - lots of rain - but Megan found places to shelter whilst telling her stories so all was well!
We had a tour guide called Alex.. who was a local lady (to Cambridge). she was very very friendly and a font of knowledge. She even outwitted us on the history of Waterloo "teeth" (and we live in Waterloo, Belgium). Very impressive indeed so well done Alex and bonne chance.
This is definitely worth doing. It's a good walk and it's interesting, although you can't be sure how much of it to believe. The tour guide was a bit too prescriptive and followed a script for us to really be able to get into it. She wasn't particularly personable and ended the tour suddenly in a different place to where we started, leaving us lost, hence the rating.
My mother and I had the pleasure of doing both the general alumni tour with Isla and the ghost tour with Alex. They were both incredibly engaging, knowledgeable, and attentive to questions! We absolutely loved our tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this historic university. There is a world of insights and stories you would miss without their expert knowledge.
We really enjoyed the Cambridge Ghost tour! Walking in the rain made it even more spooky! The whole group had a great time. And our guide Shelby was terrific!!
A magical blend of history and paranormal phenomena, hosted by the excellent and articulate Alex, resulting in a hypnotically immersive experience. A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an hour in Cambridge
Alex was an awesome tour guide! She has incredible knowledge about Cambridge. Very cool stuff on this tour, and it’s nice to have more perspective on things you walk by and otherwise wouldn’t know about.
Fabulous fun little tour round Cambridge with Amonie (hopefully correct spelling)!! Really interesting to hear about the history and all the creepy ghostly encounters. 100% recommend :-)
Yesterday night I had this great tour I definitely suggest to everybody give a chance , I dont remember the name of the Indian lady and I am sorry but she was excellent and very polite.
We had a great Ghost tour led by Niamh - discovered some wonderful areas of Cambridge we wouldn't usually pass through and found out lots of fascinating facts about the ghostly history of our city! Niamh was a great guide, very eloquent and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend :)
Had a great experience with Francesco. Good fact filled stories with a balance of exploring the concept of paranormal.
Francesco was a very knowledgeable and personable guide. Great way to see parts of Cambridge we wouldn’t have seen and to hear history through ghost tales. Highly recommend!
Very nice tour! Our gide Annie was an excellent story teller. We would definitely recommend this tour. Very interesting!
Thank you to Niamh, for a very interesting tour of some of the back streets of Cambridge, which we might never have been down, had we not done this ghost walk. It was a nice way to pass an hour, and introduced us to a lovely pub on the way round, which we later visited for a drink.
My guide only had me for the tour but kept the tour interesting and engaging despite having less people and doing a ghost tour while it was still light out
Really interesting tour and Brillant ghost stories led by Annie yesterday . It was a family affair , 6 of us and everyone enjoyed it 5/5 from us !
Highly recommend the tour. David was a consummate tour guide. He spoke with a lot of insight, enthusiasm and was very entertaining through the tour.
Annie was fantastic! Great story telling but not cheesy. I learned some new things about the city despite Cambridge being my home. The tour isn’t too long but you get some decent walking in.
Thankyou to David who provided an informative and intriguing ghost walk pointing out hidden objects and revealing several eye opening facts about the city. Delivered in a funny witty manor me and my partner enjoyed our tour in Cambridge. Would recommend.
The tour was very good, the tour guide David was very knowledgeable and friendly. Really enjoyed our time learning about the ghost stories and history of Cambridge.
Really fun! Lots of interesting stories and a funny guide to take us through them. It was a good experience overall recommend
