Stayed here the other night. Lovely old building with signs warning of uneven floors. It’s right in the middle of town so handy as a location. I was given the Mayflower Suite. It was very big with a shower in the bathroom. And a bath. AT THE END OF THE BED!!!! I didn’t get the chance to use it. Room had all you needed (tea, coffee, biscuits, radio, telly) The breakfast was generous (I couldn’t finish it) and the bacon especially was delicious. Sam in the restaurant was brilliant handling all the tables and he made sure we all had teas and coffees. Laura on reception was also very professional and friendly It is unlikely that I will stay again as I live local and only needed a hotel as I had to leave my house for the night. But maybe I will spoil myself one day and have a bedroom bath 😂😂😂

This is a really great regional hotel in Boston with a warm welcome and fantastic service. Beds are comfortable and inviting and the breakfast generous and tasty. We arrived late but Micky ensured that the kitchen stayed open for my daughter and I and we enjoyed fish and chips and a drink in comfortable chairs by a fireside after we parked up after the long journey from London. A drink was waiting for us at the table when we came down from quickly changing and we ate in inviting surroundings before retiring to bed where we got a great night’s sleep. My only build would be maybe having double glazing on the windows as the noise from the clubs outside in Boston can be heard faintly but this is also the price you pay for a great location. Have stayed here many times and hope to continue to do so.
Lovely hotel and brilliant location! Our room (103) was superb and huge. Fantastic staff and by that I mean, reception, bar staff and cleaners. Certain areas are looking a bit tired, particularly the carpet.
We arrived at 18.00 to celebrate a birthday. Esti was on duty and was communicative and cheerful regardless of being alone. Other staff members were in fire training apparently. She kept everything running smoothly and we couldn't fault her energy and determination to serve us well. Marvellous food and marvellous service.
We looked forward to a Sunday lunch in a restaurant for a long time to celebrate our 36th Anniversary. We had received good reports about the hotel and restaurant. On arrival,we inquired about the table allocated and was shown it. We wanted to be in a quiet position and were pleased with the allocation. After a drink in the bar,we were shown to a different unsuitable table. We conveyed our displeasure at the substitute table. The duty restaurant manager looked at the seating plans and allocated us a different, more appropriate table, but we had to wait 30 minutes till the people sitting there concluded their meal. We. Sat down at the new table and waited 10 minutes before any staff member came to offer us a menu or take an order for drinks. The three staff on duty were obviously almost overwhelmed by the number of guests waiting for service. We do not know if there have been staff cutbacks or there had been illness. We ordered a bottle of Chablis at £44 and so,expected it to arrive in good time and served. After reminding the staff twice that we had ordered wine, it arrived 15 minutes later after we had finished our first course. Very disappointing! The first course was just about adequate in terms of quality, but not in quantity. It is amazing that such a small serving of chicken liver pate could be considered acceptable. The scotch egg eaten by the other guest was very good, but at £9.95,it should have been. Just a pity the rest of the meal did not meet tge same quality. We opted for a traditional Sunday lunch, the pork was very good, but the beef was very tough and the texture was stringy and difficult to chew and swallow. The staff assured us that the meat supplier to the hotel was very good,so I assume we were unlucky on this occasion. Lastly,we opted for deserts, but I couldn't eat the crumble,it was slushy and sharp in taste. The staff fortunately took this item off the final bill,so this was addressed by them at the time. We experienced a long wait between each course and although the hotel states food is cooked to order, the waits seemed excessive. The condition of the fruit in the crumble and the cauliflower cheese suggested they were previously frozen, but i vouvould be wrong. The final bill was presented and came to £149.67. The service was extremely poor,so we took off the serviceharge. I think the staff on duty were too few, to provide an efficient restaurant experience .Definately not a good experience tp celebrte a special anniversary.. Mr Davies Table 19 Acc22q6 I have read the owners message I am not seeking anything,so will not reach out as requested. I have wasted enough valuable time on this miserable experience already. I will let my review of the experience stand by itself. I dud give Kirk,a member of staff,a full run down of what went well and what did not. He made the excuses or explanations on behalf of the hotel at the time. I have nothing more to add.
