We stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding nearby. The rooms were well appointed and bathrooms modern. Our room had a view over a paddock with horses which was lovely. We ate in the pub the night before the wedding and the food was very good. Wine choices also good. Breakfast both days was superb! A very nice stay and would recommend! We took a recommended taxi service from the wedding venue back to our room which was very straightforward!
We came here (20/9/26) for a roast dinner for my wife's birthday, and we wasn't disappointed at all! A warm welcome from one of the staff is always a plus. We had already pre booked, so getting a table wasn't any issue. Drinks were great as was the food. Lovely place to have a nice lunch. We will be back. 👍🏻
We absolutely love “3BBs” As locals, we’re lucky enough to frequent this wonderful pub once or twice a week, and every single visit is a reminder of why it has become such a favourite of ours. We’re always greeted with the warmest hospitality, genuine service, fantastic cocktails, and, most importantly, absolutely delicious food. At first glance, 3BBs may appear to be your humble village pub —charming and comfortable, but behind that charming exterior one can expect to receive a level of class, expertise, and attention to the food that is of a five-star standard. We feel incredibly lucky to have such a gem on our doorstep and will happily continue to return week after week. 3BBs is everything a great local pub should be — welcoming, characterful, effortlessly classy, and serving food and drinks that are exceptional. A group of us came to Three Blackbirds the morning after our friend’s wedding, along with many other guests. To our understanding, the establishment had been made aware that the large wedding party would be arriving throughout the morning. They didn’t have a few items on the menu, but we were happy to hear that we were allowed substitutions. However, from arriving the staff were clearly very overwhelmed. A few of our friends decided not to order altogether because one member of staff was particularly rude to them. We waited 50+ minutes for food that was nothing special, but the place was really busy and they were serving lots of tables. I was willing to look past all this because as mentioned, they were overwhelmed and only human. We had been assured by the bride and groom that our bill would be taken care of along with all the other guests, however the staff on shift were not aware of this. Instead of calmly resolving this error, it was met with rebuttals and disrespect. What appeared to be the manager/senior member of staff was particularly rude, to which point I had run out of excuses. This place seems nice to drop in, but organisationally there are some real flaws. Coming here was a let down for what was meant to be a lovely way to end the occasion.
We visited today with my family for Father’s Day and, unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. I appreciate that it was a busy day, but we ended up waiting around an hour and a half for our mains. A few tables that arrived after us were served their mains before we were. The food itself was also underwhelming. In particular, my brother’s main, which cost £19, consisted of just three small pieces of cauliflower, and several of the items listed on the menu as accompanying the dish were missing. There was also so many flies in the room so trying to eat was also not a pleasant experience. The service was equally disappointing. No one came over to check on us throughout the meal, and we ended up having to go to the bar ourselves whenever we wanted drinks. By the time we wanted to pay, we were so frustrated that we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. We were therefore very surprised to find that a £20 service charge had been automatically added to the bill. Given the overall experience, this felt quite cheeky and was the final disappointment of the afternoon. To end on a positive, the bar staff, especially the man who greeted us was very nice and made us feel very welcome - it’s just a shame our experience was let down by everything else .
