The rooms were lovely and clean however the breakfast was absolutely disgusting, the bacon was so hard that you couldn’t pick it up with a fork, the whole breakfast was swimming in water and we couldn’t work out if the bread was toast or fried bread
Stayed overnight for a work trip. The location was very picturesque and peaceful, had some lovely food and a peaceful beer outside. Room was cosy and nicely furnished to relax in. The owners were very helpful and friendly, I had a lovely breakfast before I set off again.
Just popped in for some lunch. It was late for lunch but we were still made welcome. Drinks and food ordered. Its under new management so a little work was being done and they apologies. It was only a little bit of drilling and it lasted seconds. So no bother. Considering we arrived late it was sill busy. Plenty to choose from on the menu and prices good. The food came. Steak and ale pie and mash. The food was hot and nicely cooked. The pie was very nice.
With the new landlady and landlord being welcomed to the village we decided to have Sunday lunch there today. It was absolutely delicious. Roast beef and chicken with tasty, varied veg and great yorkshire puddings at a good price. We will be back.
Well thought I best send a message for the Chef and team, I just wanted to send a huge compliment your way for dinner last night! That was one hell of a meal. We all had different things and honestly, every single meal was delightful. Everyone at the table enjoyed every mouthful. The fish and chips were superb, the batter was so light but cooked perfectly, and the chips were just as good. The lasagne was huge, proper home cooked style which is the best, it definitely sends you home with a big food smile. And the burger, if anyone wants a burger that fills you up and tastes gorgeous, this is the place to go. I tried the calamari for starters too... I think I'll be having a portion of those every time I come in for a pint now. Just yum. Not sure what else to say really other than everything we ate was top drawer and I'd recommend your place to anyone who loves a really good meal out. Thanks again for the great service and food!
