We had the pyramid tour with the same company and loved it so much we booked this immediately after. We had Peter as our guide and loved every second. Peter was very knowledgeable and fun to hang out with! Definitely recommend adding this to your trip to Egypt and asking for Peter!

Peter was amazing!! He was super nice and knowledgeable. He even bought us some desserts and water. His English is amazing and was funny.
Had an excellent walking food tour in Cairo with Peter. He was incredibly informative and shared lots of interesting facts about the city, culture, and local food. The market was really lively and full of atmosphere, and it was great fun walking around and trying so many tasty foods along the way. The private driver was also excellent and made everything really easy and comfortable. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cairo!
Peter Nabil is, without a doubt, the best tour guide I’ve ever had. What we expected to be just a walking food tour turned into an unforgettable night filled with incredible food, sightseeing, cultural insight, and nonstop fun and laughter. What really sets Peter apart is his authenticity—he never once tried to sell us anything or steer us into tourist traps. Instead, he focused on giving us a genuine, local experience that felt both personal and meaningful. We tasted so many amazing dishes and desserts, all carefully chosen and absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, Peter made us feel completely comfortable and safe the entire time, which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy the experience. His energy, knowledge, and passion made the night something we’ll always remember. If you’re thinking about taking a tour with Peter, don’t hesitate—you’ll leave full, happy, and with memories that last a lifetime.
Ayoub was a great tour guide with much knowledge about the history of Old Cairo as well as Egyptian history from the Pharaohs to the modern times. His depth and detail of historical knowledge of Egypt and Old Cairo was very impressive. The food was also very good. After walking through Old Cairo and the bazaar, we stopped to try some small pastries followed with a delicious bowl of koshary, Next stop was the tasty Egyptian pizza which reminded me of a thin quiche. To finish the main foods I had a beef Shawarma. I was so full, I decide to take the shawarma back to eat at my hotel. Finally, we had some Egyptian gelato. Ayoub's hospitality was second to none. He constantly asked me if I wanted to try anything else but I was too stuffed. His passion and enthusiasm made this tour very entertaining and informative.
Everything was amazing! Peter was exceptional! He was very knowledgeable about the history and culture. He was supper helpful with all our questions and aided with language barriers in the market. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great nightlife experience and some shopping!
We had the best night on this tour with Peter he was a fantastic host ( his driver was pretty fun to with the tunes in the radio ) lots of information and just a really great way to see Cairo thanks again Peter
Peter was a fantastic food guide in Cairo and showed us an amazing time. He was sweet, fun, and full of great energy, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Even when traffic came to a complete standstill, he kept his good humor and had us laughing and entertained. The markets and restaurants he chose were absolutely perfect and gave us a wonderful taste of Cairo’s food scene. I would highly recommend Peter to anyone looking for a fun, relaxed, and delicious food tour.
This tour should be experienced at night because that is when Cairo comes alive. You are brought to Khan El Khalili which is Cairo's version of a bazaar. Lots of touristy shops and fun to walk through. Our guide Peter was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the market and how it came about. He was a lot of fun to talk to and took us to try local Egyptian food. My favorite was the koshary, an Egyption comfort food. I would definitely recommend this tour. Great value for6 the money as it includes food as well.
Had a great time yet again with Ayoub, very knowledgeable, let us take our time, had stops when needed, took us to a fantastic place for food called Gad , food delicious , best ever guide we've ever had , and we've had a few on our travels
This tool offered an extremely enjoyable walkthrough of the bustling streets of modern Cairo. Peter offered extensive inside into a recent past and added a lot to the experience of walking through the markets. The atmosphere was a contrasting experience to the pyramids and the food was unforgettable.
This tour offers a great insight into modern Cairo and its bustling markets. Peter did an exceptional job in describing the recent history and the developments shaped Cairo as we see it today. The intensity of the streets offers a contrasting experience to the pyramids, and the food is truly unforgettable.
Would highly recommend this nighttime tour. Not only is it cooler but the city really comes alive at night! Mina was a wonderful tour guide taking his through the old city and to a very good restaurant where we ate far too much! We can highly recommend this tour with Mina.
The night walking and food tour with Peter was absolutely fantastic! Come with an appetite and a sense of curiosity — you’ll need both. The food stops were delicious and authentic, and Peter did an amazing job weaving in fascinating bits of local history and culture along the way. His energy and knowledge made the evening both fun and insightful. It’s the perfect way to experience the city after dark — highly recommend!
Mina Wasfy was our guide and he was the ultimate professional. He is very knowledgeable and is a subject matter expert on the history, culture, and customs on Cairo as well as Egypt. I would highly recommend this tour (and Mina) to anyone who wants to experience all the excitement and culture that Cairo has to offer. Mina took us to restaurants with delicious, authentic Egyptian food followed by a walking tour of Cairo. We even had a nice river cruise down the Nile which was beyond FANTASTIC. Please book this tour on your next trip to Cairo if you want to experience authentic Egyptian culture, food, and hospitality. Mina is the best and he will take good care of you!
Peter was very knowledgeable about his stuff. He made the experience comfortable and enjoyable navigating through the street of old Cairo.
The food and site seeing walk was a excellent experience. Peter was very engaging and showed me some great fooderies.
Peter was an excellent guide, and we also had a great driver! He explained everything about the places we visited and the food we tried with incredible detail, as he answered all of our questions. Also, local food was great! He was very attentive with everything we needed, and we wholeheartedly recommend this experience—100%! Thank you!
We took this tour at night hoping to experience the night scene in downtown Cairo as we were staying in the Giza area by the pyramids. We were picked up promptly by the driver and then we picked up the guide along the way. The guide did ask if we can make this tour earlier so we agreed. This tour was not was we expected. We expected to go to local spots and have tea at the Fishawy cafe to do some people watching. We did none of those which are listed in the itinerary of this TripAdvisor tour listing. Our guide took us to a couple of locations that were all chain restaurants. We have been to over 30 countries and live in a very diverse area in Washington, DC with a pretty large Egyptian-American population, so Egyptian food is not new to us. What we were looking for is something more authentic and not chain restaurants. But that is what we unfortunately got from this tour. This tour is good for you if this is the very first time you ever travel or your first time in trying non-western cuisine. Our tour guide wasn’t as personable either. There was a lot of awkward silence. He didn’t ask anything about us but we asked a lot about him. It gave the feel of snobby from his end like he had no interest about us or where we are from and there was no back and forth conversation. It didn’t feel genuine and felt very transactional. The driver was fine as we didn’t interact with him as much but he got us from one place to another. I wish this tour was more authentic and brought us to hole in the wall places with more authentic experience. Like the food we ate, we have them here in DC and just felt like this was a waste of him for us.
Our guide, Mina, was absolutely wonderful! He was very knowledgeable and made sure that we all had an incredible time and were taken care of. He was very responsive to all of our questions as well. We highly recommend him!
Amazing way to start our trip. Mina our tour guide was fantastic showing us downtown Cairo and teaching us the history, we learnt about the local foods and tried some delicious delicacies. Mina navigated us through the maze of the markets and took some beautiful pictures of us together. Also need to give a shout out to our driver for navigating those busy roads. Thank you very much for a fantastic day. Highly recommended!
This was one of the BEST tours I've taken, ever! As a solo traveller, I don't often get to tour cities at night. This was such a great opportunity to experience downtown Cairo after night PLUS learn about the food culture of Egypt. And it was all possible because of a fantastic guide, Peter, and excellent driver Mustafa. Professional, fun, and knowledgeable, they made this experience one to remember. Don't miss out on this amazing experience - truly an unusual thing to do in Cairo!
Peter took us on a great tour of Cairo at night. Saw all the sights worth seeing and ate a lot of authentic food….delivered exactly what the tour was intended to offer. Very well done.
This was such a fun way to end our trip to Cairo! Seeing the city at night and getting a truly authentic experience of the food and culture was so special. Manar was so fun, and made us feel like we were her long lost friends. We tasted SO much incredible food, and the market at night was an experience I’ll never forget. We felt like locals by the end of the tour because of how warm and welcoming everyone was. Thank you Manar for an amazing night that we will never forget!!

Our walking tour with Ayoub was amazing! He gave us options on how we wanted to spend our time, and was knowledgeable about all we did. Our walking tour through Old Cairo was so interesting and the architecture was beautiful. Then trying all the local street food was terrific. He contributed greatly to our overall experience on the tour.
Delicious evening tour of old Cairo. Daytime might have been even better if able to get into the gorgeous buildings of this area. Mina took wonderful care of us, bringing us to just the right spots, tailoring the trip to our family's requests, taking great care of us in busy Cairo, and feeling us too well -- we were stuffed! Bring your appetite on this wonderful tour, thanks, Mina!
Our family loves getting introduced to a new place through a food tour! The tours are even better when you get a great guide like Peter who is both personable and knowledgeable! We were picked up on time in an air conditioned vehicle. The driver expertly navigated the city and we had pleasant surprises like the boat ride and the tour of the Islamic area of Cairo and Khan el Khalli market. After a little sight seeing, we got to experience both AMAZING food and the energy of the city!! Plus, it was wonderful to see the pride Peter had in his city; it made us fall in love with it as well!!
Really enjoyed this tour with our knowledgeable guide Mina. We did a sunset feluca ride on the Nile and it was amazing. A relaxing way to enjoy the peace of the Nile while watching the sunset. Mina also gave lots of information and you can see his passion and love for his country Egypt . He is also great at taking the perfect pictures at the right angles 😅 It was a great way to end our trip. Highly recommend
So, I did this 'Walks Of Cairo Night Excursion With Food & walking Tour' thing, right? Cairo at night – sounds kinda mysterious, maybe a little spooky. But then I met Peter/Sasa. Forget the ancient pyramids for a sec, this guy is a modern marvel! This tour involves food, Sailing the Nile and walking. Honestly, the specifics are a bit of a blur because Peter was such a whirlwind of awesome. He's this "real energetic young man" – and that's putting it mildly. I'm pretty sure he runs on pure enthusiasm and maybe a little bit of that amazing Egyptian coffee. Now, I like to think I know a thing or two about eating, but Peter? This dude has a PhD in "Local Eating Habits". We weren't just tasting food; we were going on a culinary comedy tour. He'd tell us these hilarious stories about the dishes, the ingredients, and probably his grandma's secret recipes (though he never actually shared those, the tease!). We hit up some non-touristy food spots, which was a major win. Think less fancy restaurants, more "this is where the locals get their grub and it's gonna blow your mind" kind of places. We might have tried "koshary" (rice, noodles, the works!), maybe some "shawerma" and "falafel" too . Honestly, with Peter's energy, it all just tasted like pure joy. And the walking part? Well, we walked. Through downtown, even taking a sailing boat along the Nile. We even braved the craziness of old Islamic Cairo and the Khan El-Khalili Market . Now, usually, markets like that are my version of a stress test. But Peter? He's like the Indiana Jones of haggling. He'd swoop in, crack a joke in Arabic (probably), and suddenly we were getting prices that would make a pharaoh jealous. He even took us to some ancient mosque and a super old cafe for tea . Honestly, I was too busy laughing at his stories to keep track of all the historical stuff, but it sounded cool! The best part? This tour was "flexible". Which, in Peter-speak, meant "let's go with the flow and have a blast!" If we wanted to stop and stare at a particularly bewildered-looking cat, we did. If someone needed a bathroom break, no problem. It was like hanging out with a super-knowledgeable, super-funny friend who just happened to know all the best food spots in Cairo. Seriously, this wasn't just a tour; it was an experience, mostly thanks to Peter's "bright character". He turned Cairo by night into a "wonderful and a never to forget experience". If you're looking for a guide who knows his stuff but doesn't take himself too seriously, Peter/Sasa is your guy. Just be prepared to laugh until your sides hurt and eat more delicious food than you thought humanly possible. Oh, and apparently, the official name is 'Walks Of Cairo Night Excursion With Food & walking Tour' by Egypt Tours Destination . They got at least one thing right – their guide, Peter, is a legend. So, pro tip: book the tour, ask for Peter, and maybe wear stretchy pants. You'll thank me later.
Great tour with Mina Wasfy. Enjoyed the local food dishes and ice cream . Local market was very interesting. Great way to spend your evening!
Super trip with our guide Mina Wasfy around the market and food tour. Delicious food. Mina was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend
I had the most amazing time with Ayoub (tour guide) and Mohammed (driver) - they were so professional, engaging, friendly and knowledgable- they took me to parts of cairo that was away from all the tourist traps, and we went to the most amazing food places- i highly highly recommend them to be your guides in Cairo- Ayoub will do anything u want- trips to pyramids, trips to sinai- nothing is too much for such a kind hearted and wonderful guide- thank you both for everything 🙏
Our experience with Mina was exceptional. His graciousness, knowledge, and helpfulness was so appreciated. This was our first time in Egypt and we would not felt comfortable visiting the market on our own. Mina is a gem!
Abanoub it’s not just best to God, but also he’s the best photographer ever. He took us the best picture of pyramid with me in it and also with the Spinx kissing picture on Instagram it was great.
Abanoub also introduced us to a very authentic restaurant for a local lunch experience with the must popular dish in Egypt. He enhanced our visit to the Great Egyptian Museum with a finely curated tour, but also allowing us to spend extra time too and amazing driver too
This tour was one of the best we’ve had - we learned so much about Egypts history and also ate so much delicious food. Would definitely recommend people do this tour with Ayoub!
I had the best tour with Abanoub! He told me everything about the history of Cairo and took awesome pictures of me at the pyramids! We also had a wonderful local lunch! Abanoub took me to places where I could buy handmade, quality Egyptian merchandise and fragrance. His English is perfect and his communication leading up to the tour was very professional and responsive. He met me in the lobby for pickup and I felt very safe traveling with him as a solo traveler. The driver was amazing and was always at the sites to pick us up. I have only positive things to say about Abanoub as a tour guide and the tour overall. I am very happy and fortunate to have found such an amazing tour and guide!
Ayoub gave us an amazing tour of Cairo at night and took us to some great places to eat. We had some tasty shawarma and falafel, as well as some ice cream. Walking around the market at night was nice and having Ayoub explain the historical significance of everything was great. At the end of the tour he became our friend! We highly recommend Ayoub to anyone travelling to Egypt.
This was a fabulous tour. Our wonderful, young, knowlegeable and expert guide, Ayoub, (there are not enough superlatives for him, he was so excellent),and his helpful driver showed us many of Cairo's main city highlights, all beautifully lit up for Christmas. During this very professional tour for just the two of us, we drove and/or walked to several different restaurants to try some of Egypt's culinary delights, a different one at each stop. Our paticular favourite was hawawshi. For want of a better description, it is a spiced ground beef patty inside a pita pocket, but that decription certainly doesn't do it justice. We also had koshari (Egypt's national dish), shawarma (a bit like a kebab, only better), fava bean falafels (much nicer than the UK ones which are made with chick peas) and a delicious dessert, followed by ice-cream and then coffee at the famous (since Napoleonic times) El-Fishawi cafe. All of our food and drinks were included. Once we could eat no more, we explored the Khan el-Khalili souk and the old Cairo district. You could tell the food was authentic because each restaurant was full of local people who, by the way, instantly got up to give us their tables. We were treated so wonderfully everywhere we went. Thank you Ayoub, and thank you Trip Advisor for an outstanding, highly recommended evening in Cairo.
Abanoub not only shared incredible knowledge during our tour but also took amazing photos for us! He knew all the best angles and spots to capture the perfect memories. His photography skills added an extra special touch to an already unforgettable experience.
Amazing Tour to the Pyramids with Abanoub Our trip to the Pyramids of Giza was an unforgettable experience, made even more special by our exceptional guide, Abanoub. Not only did he share his vast knowledge of Egyptian history in a captivating way, but he also proved to have an incredible talent for photography. He helped us capture stunning photos of the Pyramids and Sphinx, ensuring we’d have memories to cherish forever. After exploring the ancient wonders, Abanoub took us to a local spot to try traditional Egyptian cuisine, where we had Kushary. The dish was absolutely delicious—flavorful, hearty, and a perfect way to round off our day. We loved the authentic and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, which made the meal even more enjoyable. This tour was the perfect mix of history, adventure, and local culture. If you’re planning a visit to Cairo, we highly recommend booking a tour with Abanoub. His expertise, warm personality, and thoughtful touches like the photo opportunities and local food stop made this an experience we’ll never forget!
I had a fantastic night tour with my guide Ayoub and my driver Ahmed Picked up on time from my hotel Started with a felucca boat ride at sunset Then we walked around downtown and tried many types of food including Egyptian pizza, koshari - so much food! We also went into the old town Al Moez and the markets Ayoub proved commentary on Egyptian history from 50AD to the 1900s from the time he picked me up until the end A very informative and fun evening
Mina is great, very knowledgeable and kinda and fun to hang out with. The food is amazing! I came here with empty stomachs (skipped lunch) and still unable to finish eating all the delicious food, haha. He is also very open minded and I find it super relaxing to chat with Mina will eating and learning about the Egyptian history and culture! Hugs to Mina
My guide Mina is super kind, on time, and very knowledgeable. From food to history of the old Cario, he knows everything. I skipped lunch but still unable to finish all the delicious food, hahaha. Mina is also very open minded and easy to talk to, which to me makes the tour super relaxing.
Peter was a wonderful guide who shared lots of interesting information. We enjoyed our walk through the market and then the delicious foods that were included. It’s a huge amount of food, so skip lunch before this tour. I’d highly recommend this tour.
Cairo by night was a tour that I wasn’t expecting. Our guide Mina came to pick us up from the hotel and took us to a local restaurant. There we tried a lot of local foods. I recommend you to have only breakfast that day because the food was to much 🤣 After our dinner we went for ice cream and local sweets! Amazing was also when Mina took us to the Khan Elkalili Market. It’s totally different when you have an expert with you in the market. Mina knew all the good shops to take us.
Amazing experience.Cairo is even more beautiful at night, walking around in the town, admire the France architecture buildings, the lights, the late evening visit at the museum, everything was magical. We were extremely lucky to have the full moon just above us that night. Be careful don't eat anything before. Food is amazing and a lot. Every single bite was an small explosion of flavors. Thanks to Mina we had the chance to enjoy everything.100% recommended.
We had a fantastic time on the food tour! Our guide and driver were so welcoming. Not only did we enjoy some of the most delicious foods we’ve ever had, but we also learnt so much about the history of the area. The sail boat down the Nile was a highlight for us, so peaceful and relaxing. One of the guests was vegetarian and this was accommodated brilliantly. Thank you again! We had a wonderful time 😊
Our tour guide Ayoub was a very charming and knowledgeable guide,he told so much about not only the history of cairo but the everyday lives of the Egyptian people that live there today.althogh old cairo is a very busy and noisy area with hardly any room to walk along at no point did any of us feel unsafe under his guidance.for sure you will see no any tourists at the places you eat because it's where the Egyptian people eat every day.we really enjoyed the felluca boat trip part of the tour it was lovely to see cairo from the river nile.would highly recommend this tour.big call out to our driver too he was great.
