Very interesting tour with passionate and open minded guide Mimo who knows a lot (everything and everyone) and he has a direct answer to all your questions. Faraos and their live(s) comes alive on this tour. Talks sometimes very quick, so be attentive because he will tell it only once.

Mimo was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and great fun to be with. He also took some amazing photos and compiled a video for us. Thank you so much. The camel ride was really fun. However, it would have been helpful to have a better understanding of the tipping system, as it was our first day, and we felt the camel man certainly insisted on a huge tip, in addition to paying for the ride. Nevertheless, we would highly recommend Mimo.

He picked us off on time which is extremely unusual as you can imagine in Egypt and gave us a very informative and comprehensive tour with brilliant stops at the shops and the papyrus factories . The day began with a breathtaking camel ride into the desert, the Great Pyramids forming a perfect backdrop. Our guide was engaging and passionate, helping us feel connected to everything we saw. The desert air was still, the moment felt timeless. But then, lunch arrived and it fizzled. The authentic label felt misleading when served bland, flavorless food that missed the heart of Egyptian cooking. We longed for hummus with depth, tangy salad, or koshari with spices and crunch something that echoed the rich culture. Instead, the bland meal lurched the high spirits into a flat moment. The tour was beautiful and well-paced otherwise. But food matters it’s part of the memory. Here, it didn’t match the promise.

Watching the pyramids grow closer on camelback was a moment we’ll never forget. The golden glow of sunrise, the soft padding of the camel’s steps it was poetic. Our guide was courteous and informative, weaving stories about ancient Egypt that added depth to the visuals. But lunch? That part was underwhelming. They advertised it as authentic Egyptian cuisine, yet what was served was a stark contrast: flat pita, lukewarm chicken, and uninspired rice. It felt generic, almost like reheated leftovers. In a tour designed to celebrate Egypt, the food should at least do the same. Still, the pyramids alone made the morning unforgettable. But the lunch dampened the overall experience, leaving me wishing for more coherence between the sights and flavors.

Great morning with Mimo at the pyramids and Spinx with traditional Egyptian lunch. The restaurant which was overlooking the Spinx gave us the opportunity to try local dishes. Mimo was good to advise on things to avoid and try. Staff at the restaurant were welcoming. Lunch was included and we paid for beverages. Mimo was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. On his recommendation we also had a camel ride which despite our fears was a great experience and if you’re going to ride a camel this has to be the coolest location! Mimo was very helpful in taking and setting up great photo opportunities by himself and colleagues. The pyramids were incredibly moving and there was real impression on your senses and a connection absolutely worth a visit with a trusted guide Mimo ensured we had comfort breaks in clean environments and access to water it was an incredibly hot day and he safely guided us with the hop on hop off buses. We also were taken to see the Papyrus, the historical and current day use. Amazing demonstration of how the cut, soaked, pressed and dried and then used as paper. Opportunity to buy personalised art at reasonable prices.

First time in Egypt and had the pleasure of having Mohamed Kalel as our glide to the pyramids of Giza. He was so incredibly talented at his job. He knows how to make you feel you are back in the time of the pharaoh’s while still giving you time to learn and look for yourself. After our time at the pyramids we headed to lunch at an Egyptian restaurant with amazing views then to a traditional smoking cafe with hookah’s and coffee (very delicious hibiscus tea there for me). Was also very good at helping get some amazing photos taken while on the tour.

Excellent tour with Discover Egypt! The tour was an amazing introduction to Ancient Egypt with its history brought to life by our brilliant guide Mohamed. His Egyptology knowledge was so impressive, especially his guided tours of the Pyramids and the Egypt Museum. Our tour coincided with Ramadan and on our visit to Cairo Citadel Mosque Mohamed gave us a wonderful clear explanation of the five principles of Islam that we shall remember for ever.

The tour was great and we had Mido as guide who was amazing! Very professional since the moment we booked and accommodating; we visited different spots and saw all the pyramids area. Mido spoke perfect Spanish and he was very knowledgeable. We then visited a site on how they made papyrus. Overall I good do it again!

Mimo (Mohammed) was absolutely excellent from the start. He took our group of 11 to the Giza Pyramids and the new GEM museum. He was able to infuse significant interest in everything he showed us. His knowledge is excellent (even down to the risky cartoon of Hatshepsut)! He also took us to the old Museum and flew with us to Luxor to show us all the major monuments there. We would have no hesitation of recommending him. He is also great fun to spend time with and quick with a joke!

Had a wonderful tour with Doaa and Mohamed. Doaa was very knowledgable and really did everything to make the day special, even arranging to visit a perfumery. Doaa took care of the vendors and do really it was a perfect tour of the Pyramids. Mohamed was a great driver - you read about driving in Egypt - but really, I felt completely safe with Mohamed. I strongly recommend both of them 🙏🏻🤗

Mohammed was an absolute gem ! We really missed him in Aswan and Luxor because he is simply the best guide ! His stories and recommendations were amazing . If ever in Cairo just get Mimo to take care of you . Even if it means stopping at different chemist or having local ice cream or hooka with the locals . He really did look after us and we enjoyed it with lots of memories to take back .

MIMO is the best guide you can wish for. He has exceptional knowledge of ancient Egyptian history and knew exactly where to take us after enquiring what we wanted from the tour.
