This is a great tour and you will meet some great people and great history. The area is close to a lot if great things to see and do. Makes fir a great center point to use to do other tours from also. Not a crazy city like Cairo with it's busseling traffic.

We are just back from 3 weeks in Egypt and Jordan that started with 5 days in Cairo. Mohamed, from the Giza office for TravelLocal set up a half day food tour in old Cairo for day 1. Islam was a fantastic guide. Tours to the Giza Pyramids, Great Sphinx and Sakkara happened on day 2. Day 3 had us visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (not to be missed) and Dahshur. On day 4 we went to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the Saladin Citadel and the Mohamed Ali Mosque (epic). Day 5 had us visit the Sultan Hassan Mosque, the Al-Rifa'l Mosque, the Mosque Madrassa of Sultan Zahir Barquq, the northern walls and bab Zuweilias and Mosque al-Hakim. Our driver, Mustafa S was simply incredible. Cairo traffic is crazy! Mustafa managed everything with elegance and grace. He was always on time, magically appearing whenever we needed him and approached everything with safety in mind. He was the model of professionalism. Our guide for all these adventures was the incomparable Maha. Her knowledge was remarkable. She unpacked the Egypt experience with great story telling, enthusiasm and expertise. She was also amazing at finding great lunch spots that featured local cuisine. We would highly recommend TravelLocal for any trips to Cairo, and if you can request Maha and Mustafa to support your adventures you will not be disappointed!

This was one of several private tours during our 11-day Egypt trip booked through Memphis Tours. The service from both our tour guide and reservationist was excellent (5 stars), but we gave 4 stars overall because we experienced what felt like a bait-and-switch upon arrival and ended up paying more than necessary. Our reservationist, Nada, was wonderful—helpful, empathetic, and responsive throughout the planning process. Our guide, Nesreen, was outstanding—knowledgeable, patient, and even helped take group photos. She kept us on schedule without rushing, and when we ran short on time between Giza and Sakkara she arranged an authentic take-out lunch so we wouldn’t miss the tour. The van was clean and comfortable, and our driver made us feel safe, although Cairo traffic takes some getting used to. However, we were disappointed with the tour manager. He was professional and charming, but his focus seemed to be more on selling optional tours than on our best interests. We were told we couldn’t wear our traditional Chinese outfits at Giza due to “security restrictions,” only to later learn that this was not true. Based on that information, we agreed to a dinner with a pyramid view at $50 per person (five people)—a cost we would not have incurred had we known the restaurant was already included for lunch. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch and left a poor impression. For the price paid, we expected greater transparency. Tip: Double-check what is included before agreeing to optional add-ons—what sounds like an upgrade may already be part of your itinerary OR that it may be cheaper elsewhere (i.e., uber to a restaurant with a pyramid view).

We did a Saqqara and Dagashur tour with a 5 days/4 nights private dahabaya cruise on the Nile. Everything was perfect. The boat NUUN was beyond expectations. The guide, Abdul was a fantastic discovery everyday from being an expect Egyptologist to a friendly person caring for each and everyone of us every day at every moment of the trip: as a family composed by a 18 months old toddler, teenagers, adults and seniors. It was all beyond expectations.

From the first contact to provide an itinerary to the last contact securing a refund for a cancelled flight, the staff at Memphis was attentive, professional and empathetic. Sara who booked the trip after we made several changes over a 2 week period meaning 6 iterations, was always helpful and responsive. The local hosts (especially Nsar) treated us like royalty. The drivers (especially Mohammed) deserve a medal for navigating Cairo traffic. The the guides (especially Ahmed) were very well informed and helpful. We had the trip of a lifetime over 11 days seeing as many of the sites as we could including 5 flights within Egypt and a Nile cruise. If you want to skip anything the day trip to Alexandria is a 3.5 hour drive to see catacombs and a citadel. Both take less than a couple of hours.

I stayed 14 days in Egypt, 5 in Cairo, 5 in Nile Cruise, 4 in Sharm el Sheij in Sept/Oct 24. Many many thanks to Nesma Mohamed! It was such a fantastic day❤🤗👍💚!!! It was already the 2nd tour we went with Ahmed Ramadan who always provided us with so many interesting insights into Egypt's History and today's life in this wonderful country. The tour was absolutely perfect: we spent the morning at the Sakkara pyramids (you can climb into them:-) which is really cool). After that we experienced a great time on a Farm where we learned so much about the Daily life and agriculture in Egypt (we learned how to make bread and traditional cookies , climbing on a palm, riding a donkey.. It was amazing!!!!

We toured from Alexandria to Abu Simbel with Cairo Luxor and Aswan in between fro two weeks. Memphis Tours were fantastic picked us up at the airport to us to the heart of Cairo and throughout this magical land in security and comfort. Just got back from a 2 week honeymoon with Egypt Tours Plus/Memphis Tours to Alexandria, Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Sharm, & Mount Sinai. Overall, our experience was very pleasant! A few bumps in the road with hotel bookings and itinerary confirmations, but it was handled well by Egypt Tours staff in the moment and it all worked out. Our guides were knowledgeable and we learned a lot about ancient Egypt, Islam, and Egyptian culture. I would like to highlight one of our guides in particular, Karim, and driver Muhammad, during our time in Cairo/Alexandria. They went above and beyond for us. They always had cold water available in the van and offered it without us asking, always asked us if the WiFi was working in the van, Muhammad was an excellent driver navigating the busy streets of Cairo and he was very professional, and Karim - he was also extremely professional (something that is extremely high on my list), never made a bad joke or sexualized me (something that happens a lot during my travels as a woman!), knowledgeable, was even going back to school to continue his education in Egyptology, he answered all of our questions and was the best tour guide. We plan to request him when we come back to Egypt with our kids. Thank you thank you thank you!

I can’t believe these pyramids and lunch at a family farm aren’t part of the standard Cairo Area tours. Sure, seeing the Sphinx and Great Pyramid was nice- but seeing this pyramids close up and eating that meal with Tarek as our guide was AMAZING! We climbed down into the Red Pyramid and ate the most delicious meal in Dahshur. I highly recommend this tour if you like active sight seeing. We had a mixed group 40s-70s and not everyone could physically climb down into the pyramid, but they sure enjoyed the view and lovely cuisine and handicrafts. Tarek made this tour extra special with his knowledge of the pyramids and area.

We had a lovely time in Cairo, site seeing and taking in all the city has to offer, thanks to our ‘Magical’ guide Ahmed Farahat. He has a great personality, he is knowledgeable and took care of our family’s need for flexibility during our recent trip. Ask for him if you too want to have a ‘magical’ time.

Communication problem. Tour plan changed last minute and not inform us. The person came to meet us at Cairo airport didn't come to hotel to help us check in, which was mentioned in email. It took us more than hour to check in. Name of tour guide and contact persons' name and phone numbers were not given. Mustafa has not contacted through out the tour even though we requested several times. Lettitude tour people in Turkey were better than Egypt. Overall not happy.

We booked this as a private tour for our family of 4 which worked really well. Mariz messaged us the day before our trip and met us in the hotel lobby. She and our driver Mohammed drove us towards the Giza pyramids and on the way she swapped with our guide Mia. Mohammed was a really good driver. The van was comfortable & they had cool water for us. Mia was full of knowledge and was really kind to our 9yo and good at explaining so she understood (actually she knew way more than me). Giza was very busy but Mia was good at taking us to quiet spaces to explain. & she organised a short camel ride for us which was very fun - only about 20 minutes which was plenty and a good photo opportunity at the end. The other pyramids at Sakkara and Dahshur were much quieter and we did the extra option of going inside the pyramids. It was a bit daunting being underneath so much rock and crouching down then up steep slopes & rickety stairs but it was absolutely amazing to see the insides. Take loads of small change - 1 euro, 1 GBP, 1 dollar or 5 EGP needed for tips and toilets continuously. Lunch was nice and having a guide made navigating all the vendors much easier.

Ahmed Helel was extremely knowledgeable about all Egyptian history and facts. Our trip included tour of pyramids, open museum in Memphis and Sakkara. In Cairo we visited the Egyptian museum and The Citadel. We traveled to Fayoum and El Minya. There we saw the National Park of Wadi Rayan and the Whales Cemetery. We toured Beni Hasan and saw unique rock cut tombs. At Assuit City we visited the Al Muharraq Monastery, After we completed our 4 day Nile Cruise, Ahmed Helal arranged to finish as our tour guide on our return to Cairo. It was great to see a familiar face. His expertise was greatly appreciated as we finished our Egypt Trip at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and tour of Islamic Cairo and El Khalili Bazaar. Had a great 1 day customized tour of Saqqara and Dashur with our very informative guide Ahmed Resk. Our driver Waleed was friendly and always ready at a moments notice when we were leaving the sites. The lunch Memphis Tours included at the local restaurant outside Saqqara was the best we had on our 13 days in Egypt. We did this tour on our own breaking away from our larger group as that tour did not include these two sites. So glad we did them and grateful for the explanations Ahmen gave and answering all our questions. He is a also a great cell phone photographer! Thanks Ahmed!

I had a FABULOUS tour of Giza, Sakkara, and Dahshur in May 2022. We started with Giza, followed by Dahshur, and ended the day at Sakkara, and I thought this sequence was PERFECT. Giza is a must see, but the least remarkable of the three---it's also FULL of lots crowds and big tour groups. Dahshur was the most remote/least touristy. While there you have the opportunity to descend more than 65 meters (215 feet) into one of the pyramids. I was SUPER scared, but so, so glad that I did it! (I recommend closed toe shoes if you plan to enter any of the pyramids.) Sakkara is full of hieroglyphics and colorful artifacts, and was really neat to see. You can also go inside pyramids at Sakkara and it's a much shorter descent than at Dahshur. I'm particularly glad that I didn't just go to Giza, as I think I would have been underwhelmed. The lunch stop was good, albeit slightly touristy. Ebrahim and Arnoob were my tour guide and driver, respectively, and they made the day really special! I am a solo female traveler and felt super safe the entire time. Ebrahim taught me about the wonders of Egyptian history for the entire 8 hours that we were together. Ebrahim also took tons of photos of me, which was a fun way to ensure that my people back home were able to enjoy my trip with me. :) Arnoob expertly drove me to and fro, amidst Egypt's wild driving patterns. Both did a great job of helping me navigate the heavy Eid traffic/extra visitors at Giza, and the car was very comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this tour; I had a magical day full of learning and exploring.

I just returned from a 2 week trip that included Cairo, Luxor, a Nile cruise to Aswan, and Abu Simbel. I used Memphis because I only had 2 weeks to plan and Memphis was so prompt in my communications with them, and they weren’t bothered by the last-minute nature of the trip like other companies were. The Memphis team’s logistics in Egypt are great - the guides and drivers were always on time, I was always taken to the airport with plenty of time to spare, and they booked my intra-Egypt flights for me without a hitch. I also didn’t have to wait through ticket lines at any of the temples or tombs or museums because the guides had always gotten them ahead of time which I really appreciated. The only downside to using Memphis is the mandatory “factory” tours but I feel like this is standard now in many countries. Just get your free drink, use the free restroom, politely decline to buy anything, and leave. There were two standouts during my trip that deserve special mention. First, Badr was my driver for a week in Cairo and he was absolutely wonderful. The Cairo roads are next level crazy and he negotiated them with patience and without making me fear for my life, which I certainly appreciate! He was also great at showing me some local places that I never would have found for myself, like a tiny bakery in Giza so I could bring home some sweets for my family members. He went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and comfortable and I really recommend you ask for him while you’re in Cairo! Second, Shahinaz was my guide in Cairo. I was so impressed by this funny, gracious, clever guide who is smart as a whip. She taught me so much about Egyptian history, culture, religion, etc. I must have asked her a million questions and she answered every one. Thanks so much, Badr and Shahinaz! Overall I would recommend Memphis for your Egypt trip.

My wife and I arrived two days ahead of a 16 day escorted tour of Egypt. I was looking for a custom itinerary that excluded our planned itinerary. I contacted Memphis and we arranged two full days and visited Saqqara, Bent and Red Pyramid, the original capital of Memphis and other sites in Cairo. We could not have been more pleased, our trained guide Rem and driver Hassan could have not been more professional. We had a first class experience and would highly recommend this company and particularly these two professionals. We have extensive travel experience and would rate this company and hosts very high. Wow! Where to begin? What a fantastic tour! Our guid Reem was absolutely amazing. She is very knowledgeable and knows everything about the sites we visited. She was very professional and easy to talk to as well (her English was really good). It was wonderful having the opportunity to meet her and spend the day together. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The private tour was great because we had our own car which was new and very comfortable and could go at our own pace. We've never used a tour company before but I felt a little overwhelmed about planning our trip to Egypt since there are so many things to see and do. I am so glad that we chose to book our trip with Memphis Tours! We booked multiple private day trips in Cairo and Luxor as well as all airport transfers and it made our trip completely stress free. Our tour leader Reem was so friendly and helpful. She guided us through the airport (costums and security in Egypt are a little different than what we're used to) and hotel check in. She even arranged COVID testing for us which we were so grateful for as we were able to get results in only 6 hours to comply with newly updated US COVID regulations. She also arranged an additional tour when we got there based on what we were interested in seeing. Reem was easy to get in touch with, always responded quickly and was always available for help when we needed her. Our driver Farag was very pleasant, always on time, and very polite. He was even in good spirits when he had to pick us up at 4am for our airport transfer. Despite the language barrier he always understood what we needed and how to help us. Best of all was our tour guide Huda. She had to be the smartest person I've ever met! She new every detail about Cairo and ancient Egypt and answered any question we had about it's history and daily life. My wife and I are also vegan and we were very nervous about being able to communicate our dietary restrictions but Huda handled all that for us, she would call the restaurant staff before we went to make sure they would have food suitable to our needs and then confirm with them again when we arrived, it was truly a relief. She was also incredibly kind, funny and an excellent photographer. By the end of the trip we had become good friends and plan to keep in touch! I would highly recommend Memphis tours to anyone traveling to Egypt, it takes away the stress of planning and transportation so you can just enjoy your vacation. We did multiple tours with Memphis, in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. A great tour guide can make all the difference in the world and these guys are great. From the pick up at the airport to all the tours, everything went off perfectly. Been to over 60 countries and our guide in Cairo, Ahmed El Gohary, was easily one of the best I've ever worked with, as was our guide in Luxor/Aswan, Mamoud. Thanks for a wonderful trip. Just as an aside, if you include the Nile cruise, take your own internet puck or use your phone as a hotspot, as the ship wifi was horrible...barely functioning on day 1, and nonfunctional the next 3 days. Zero problems connecting using my phone as a hotspot though.

My sister and I had a full day of seeing multiple pyramids. I even made my way to the top of the Bent pyramid which was quite a task for me as a full sized woman:). We rode camels in the area of the Great pyramids. Our guide, Hany Abuzeid, was perfect! Not only is he a wealth of knowledge and very kind, he was also our guard and protector too:) if taking a tour in Cairo I highly recommend asking for Hany!

I booked with Memphis Tour for a trip to Cairo, Luxor & Sharm with two of my boys. I grew up in Egypt so I can say that MT was on top of everything even with flight cancellations due to COVID. The tour agents were timely, educated, and flexible. Nabil was especially knowledgeable. I would warn anyone going to Egypt to not think 4/5-Star hotels are grand - most are 20 yrs old and in need of a lot of care, so request to be put in a newer facility. Also, the Savoy in Sharm can run your bill up quickly since the food and drinks are pricey and you are stuck on the SoHo compound …

Hanan was amazing on whatsapp and booked all trips as we wanted , Ahmed the tour manager was always very prompt and professional and made sure our meals and transportation were on point in Cairo , Rabie was a phenomenal tour guide in Cairo and Alexandria and very friendly and knowledgeable , Walid the tour manager in Luxor was very efficient and made things happened at all the sites , balloon tide and shows with a happy attitude , Mohammed was a very good at his specialty in Valley of The Kings with many details and tips for good experience ! WOW - just got back from a week in Egypt with multiple tours with Memphis Tours group. Can't say enough good things about this company and, especially, their people - Ahmed Farahat was our magical Egyptologist in Cairo along with Mohamed Fathi and our most excellent driver Faisal Hussien. Their knowledge, willingness to go the extra mile, and overall friendliness made us feel at home and like we were family. In Luxor we travelled to the Valley of the Kings and the Temples with Mustafa Noby and El Tayib (famous Egyptian name - his great-grandfather was with Howard Carter when they discovered King Tut's tomb). Again, these guys went above and beyond during our time with them. I give Memphis tours an 11 out of 10 and definitely recommend them for everyone wanting to visit this fabulous country!

We had a great trip. Memphis tours was professional and did everything they could to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. We had them throughout the entire trip, Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, and the Red Sea. One of our friends lost her wedding ring, not only were they able to locate it at the previous hotel, they drove it up to Luxor from Aswan. Mustafa in Cairo was unbelievable. My luggage got lost on Turkish airlines and Mustafa handled the whole issue for me. The luggage arrived at my hotel room the next night. He also took us to local places for some of the local food. All of our guides were great, Sam, George, LT and Mustafa. They made it a trip of a life time. All of the guides were very knowledgeable and explained everything. We could not be happier with this trip

Finally seeing the pyramids in person was a dream come true. I was doing this solo and I was never alone! My tour guide Ahmed Farahat was by my side and providing me with the best care. He was careful to make me feel informed with his knowledge of the history and respected my need to be just quiet and still in the moment. He was an excellent photographer and skilled selfie taker too! I always felt safe valued and never pushed to do anything that I didn’t want to. If I was too tired to visit the shops then that was okay. I had specific places that I wanted to see and it was all made possible.
