My wife and I embarked on our first trip to Egypt with the guidance of Go Luxor Tours and I would recommend them to anyone traveling to Egypt. They were recommended by some friends of ours, who had only good things to say about them and they were right! Michael planned our itinerary and worked with us to make the perfect trip. He has been doing this for several years and has a vast knowledge and experience with giving private tours to many locations in Egypt. We began our trip in Giza with Yehya, our initial guide and a studying egyptologist. He was amazing, knowledgeable, patient, fun, and answered any question I threw at him. We always had a driver to get us to where we needed to go, so we never needed to think about transportation or flights. It was all arranged of for us by Michael. Additionally, we had the pleasure of having Michael as our private tour guide for Aswan and Luxor, where we sailed the Nile on a felucca boat, visited the Nubians, held young crocodiles, ate amazing food everyday, and visited many, many temples and sites. Having Michael and Yehya steering our journey was invaluable to learn about the cultures, the history of ancient Egypt, and to navigate the many vendors and customs of the cities. When selecting hotels, Michael was able to recommend great hotels which accommodated our budget. During the trip, he would also recommend that we visit additional sites or shops that we would never had known about while planning the trip. He was flexible in a way that allowed us to change and re-prioritize some of our itinerary during the trip, as well. Michael was very personable, knowledgeable, fun, and a great guide and trip planner and I can't imagine this trip being the success that it was without him. We had a great experience with Luxor Go Tours in Egypt. We did the Pyramids of Giza and GEM Museum tour, and later the Luxor tour covering both the West Bank and East Bank. Everything was well organized and easy from start to finish. Our drivers and tour guides were fantastic. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to explain the history at each site and answer our questions. We also always felt very safe. The drivers were careful and professional which made traveling between the sites comfortable and stress free. Overall it was an amazing way to see some of Egypt’s most incredible historical places. We enjoyed a Private all day GEM and Giza Plateau tour with Go Luxor Tours last month and it was hugely enjoyable. We were met on time at our Cairo downtown hotel by our guide Alaa, our A/C vehicle was comfortable and our driver well-versed in Cairo traffic etiquette - if you’ve been there you will know what I mean. Alaa was great, with near perfect English and a huge knowledge of her subject. She made the day for us. Firstly, the GEM. Absolutely no-one can fail to appreciate the splendour of the new museum and if you can, get there. We have seen nothing like it anywhere else, and I doubt that we ever will. The Design of the building alone is worth the trip - the grandeur of the entrance areas and the quality of the finishes and materials are a great credit not only to the Architects (Dublin designers) and to its builders, but also to the country and the vision of its people. The artefacts are staggering in their number and beauty and of course the Tutankhamen room is breathtaking - for the first time, everything is there. Alaa and Go Luxor took us round as much as it was possible to see in a half day and the narrative was made so clear. Well done Alaa. After the GEM, we travelled on to the Giza Plateau and a late lunch on the terrace at Khufu’s restaurant with its panoramic view of the Pyramids themselves, and then the Sphinx. All in all, an unforgettable day with Go Luxor Tours. I’ve mentioned in my previous Go Luxor Tours review how reliable we found them and the ease of both communication and online payment, so no need to repeat. Just give them a try if you are in Egypt - Michael will definitely sort out something really good for you. PS. We did the GEM first, with the Pyramids and Sphinx in the late afternoon. It seems to be the best way as the GEM got busier and busier as the day went on, as other tour groups seem to arrange the visits the other way around.

We did a set of private tours of Giza, Saqqara, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Kom Okbo, and Luxor with Go Luxor Tours, including a Nile cruise. Mike did a great job of working with us to design the perfect Egypt trip. Yehya, our tour guide in Cairo and Giza, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. When we wanted to skip some of the touristy shopping stops, he didn't raise any objections. Mike himself was our tour guide in Aswan and Luxor. He kept everyone engaged and managed through the crowds at the temples. Our cruise ship (Le Fayan) was awesome, with nice accommodations and a friendly staff. The only frustration was the tipping culture in Egypt. I felt like I was constantly having to remember the recommended tips, and it got tiring. It would be great if there was an option to include the tips for van drivers, tour guides, and others in the overall pricing package. I have already recommended Go Luxor to friends and will continue to do so.

Our tour of Egypt was absolutely incredible, and visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx was the highlight of the trip. Seeing these ancient wonders up close is truly breathtaking — no photo can capture how massive and majestic they are in person. I was in Egypt for 7 days with my family. Go Luxor tour company was essential to us having a great experience. They coordinated everything for us and made visiting Egypt very easy. We had an excellent tour. Yehya, our guide was very informative explaining so much history with great detail and was patient to answer all of our questions. We got to visit the pyramids, ride camels, see the sphinx, and then took us through a guided tour of the GEM and then a late lunch at a restaurant where we enjoyed mixed grill and a buffet. He took us to great spots for pictures and took great pics for us too! He found us stores for our special purchases and introduced us to an amazing cafe. Our driver Samir got us everywhere safely, promptly and always with a smile and he always had the van ready with A/C and a cooler full of ice cold water.

Mike from Go Luxor tours organised us a four-day itinerary in Luxor and Cairo at last minute (i.e. the night before we arrived) in July 2025. I let him know what each of us was interested in, what was important to us, and what we wanted to see, and he organised two tours, with guides and drivers, which suited us perfectly. In Cairo, Fadi (our guide) was deeply knowledgeable about everything we saw: the history, the culture and religion which underpinned it all, the architectural and artistic techniques, and the people and personalities involved. He answered every question that we had, and picked out exactly the things which interested us to see. He was also excellent company. Our driver Taha was on time, every time, and drove safely and comfortably. There was always cold water available in the car (essential when it's 40C even in the shade!) Mike was available via WhatsApp at all times of the day and night to answer my little questions and liaise between us and the guides. The price was very reasonable and I would happily pay it again. Our experience of Egypt would not have been anywhere near as good as it was if we didn't have the help of Go Luxor. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

It was truly an amazing experience! Our guide, Albeer, was such an easygoing and knowledgable person. He kept up with all the questions we had regarding the pyramids and always check in on us, asking us if we needed water or if we are sure we wanted to get into the pyramids. He was such perfect fit for this tour and made it all the more smooth-sailing and fun.

Michael and the tour guide were both very helpful. We got dropped off and picked up from the airport, our hotel, and all the tour spots in a very timely manner. I cannot say enough about our guide, Frances. He was such an incredible person to meet, and honestly he set the bar high for every other guide we had on our trip. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful on our trip! Our first day was at the pyramids and it was a big deal because it was my wife’s 35th birthday and he showed up with a gift for her. Making the trip already very special. He went above and beyond at the pyramids and sphinx to give us detailed rich history of the area as well as took us to all the best spots to take photos. We had a lunch in the city at a great local spot, then we stopped at a few local shops to buy gifts for our family and then ended our day with the tour of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. That was the most mind blowing experience learning about King Tut in the special exhibition they have there. Funny enough, we went to Valley of The Kings later in our trip and it helped make the experience come full circle, as we came with the knowledge from Frances and his tour. It was along day, but our guide made it truly worthwhile.

I had such a fantastic full day tour of the pyramids and museum! I flew in to Cairo in the morning (from Luxor) and had a day trip before my evening flight back to London. The guide was so knowledgeable and the driver was seamless so all in it was a huge success and o thoroughly enjoyed my time!

Extremely good experience from start to finish. My wife and I were in Cairo for a 10 hour layover and Go Luxor helped us make the absolute most of our time there. First off, communication was flawless as they actively kept us informed, answered any question we had, and coordinated everything. We arrived in Cairo at 5:30am and I already had a message letting me know that they were watching the flight and will be waiting for us outside the airport. Sure enough, as soon as we walked out we saw our guide Francis holding a sign with our name on it, he welcomed us to Cairo and we walked together to our ride for the day parked nearby. The car and driver were excellent. We found ourselves in a clean and comfortable electric car and our driver navigated us safely to Giza while our guide informed us about the history and culture we were about to experience. We were provided with cold water bottles and offered snacks or anything else we needed. We felt safe and comfortable right away. Upon reaching the pyramids we were dropped off right at the entrance, our guide provided tickets, and next thing we knew we were sitting on the great pyramid of Giza while our guide took some excellent photos for us. We walked the area while being informed of interesting facts about the formation of the pyramids and local geography, stopping for photo opportunities and having a good time doing it. Next we headed to a scenic overlook to take in the sight and get some more photos. Following that we visited the Sphinx and toured the area around it. The whole experience was perfect, just what we were wanting. Next we had a choice of getting food or checking out some local shops, we went for the shops. One stop had a demonstration of papyrus making and art available, another where you could purchase jewelry or items with customized hieroglyphics and a third with tons of fresh herbs and spices to try. They were all great stops and we never felt overly pressured to buy anything. We also got to try Turkish coffee and were offered free drinks by the hospitable and friendly shop owners. Finally we visited Cairo Museum where our knowledgeable guide, Francis, told us all about the artifacts on display and the museum itself. It was truly an amazing experience, rich in culture and history, and viewing it with our guide was the best way we could have seen it. So, honestly, I couldn’t recommend this company more. Truly perfect scores across the board. Our coordinator communicated perfectly, our driver kept us safe and comfortable, and our guide was friendly, informative, and genuinely good company to spend the day with. In the back of my mind, I was thankful multiple times through the day that I didn’t book with a bargain rate company. If you’ve read this far, you should definitely go ahead and book with them. They will take care of you!

This was the most amazing experience! Our guide Francis obviously loved teaching us, which mad the experience even better. Our daughter recommended GoLuxor Tours to us and they did not disappoint. Our driver Ramon was awesome as well. We felt safe , secure and special because of this outfit.

Stayed an entire week in Egypt and booked multiple tours with Go Luxor. It was myself, my dad, and my step-mom. Francis was our expert Egyptologist and he accompanied us on two of the three tours we did. We started at the Pyramids of Giza and Egyptian Museum on Day 1 which was excellent. Francis was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a great background to everything we were seeing. He took extremely good care of us despite our jetlag and fatigue from being up all night traveling the night prior. He took pictures of us and I was so impressed with catering to our individual needs. The next tour I did with Go Luxor was at Abu Simbel near Aswan. It wasn't with Francis, but another guide, that I don't really remember. Our time with him was very short since guides aren't allowed inside the temple. The next tour we did was again with Francis and we went to Alexandria which was a great day trip. Francis, again, was top-notch in his knowledge of the city and the history. Michael, whom I arranged the tours with, was easy to communicate with and was very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for tours in Egypt!

Words, pictures, and videos can never do justice to my experience traveling Egypt in July of 2022. I keep telling people to truly understand you must be there in person. You have to stand in the shadows of the Pyramids of Giza, make your way through the passageways leading into the tombs of the pharaohs, and feel the desert sun on your face to understand. The other thing you must do, to really provide depth and knowledge to your trip is booking a tour with Michael Samir Shaker as your guide. Mike met me at the airport and throughout my entire travels in Egypt, which included Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor, exposed me to a rich history and background of the landmarks I was seeing, as well as allowing me to taste the flavors of Egypt, and truly appreciate the ancient and modern versions of the country. Knowing I was a teacher, Mike gave me an account of people, places, and events with the mindset of how it would benefit my students and how I could potentially present it to them. I have seen the pyramids, stood inches from King Tut’s mummy, swam in the Nile River, and a hundred other experiences, as I said before, that can only be experienced firsthand. Without Mike I would not have seen all that I saw, I would not have understood all I witnessed, and I believe I would not have had a once in a lifetime adventure. I will be back to Egypt someday to show my sons this amazing place. Before I go, I will definitely be contacting Mike Shaker to give my family the best, the very best, guide and companion one can find in Egypt.
