Isham was friendly and navigated the crazy Cairo and Alexandria traffic well. We felt safe. He stoped at nice clean rest stop and made sure all was ok. We recommend him.

Great driver. Nice very professional. But. We wished for a bigger car since. We were 4 people plus 8 luggage. We were tight!
Very smooth ride. We stopped to use the restroom and snacks. Mohammed was great.
The driver was on time, polite and pleasant. He stopped on our way out of town to get us water and again about halfway through the 3 hours drive for a bathroom break and to stretch our legs. My only criticism would be the car was not at all what the picture would imply. It was a older car with lots of dents, etc. That was honestly the case with most of the Ubers we used in Alexandria and Cairo - very old and damaged cars.
The drive between Cairo and Alexandria went fine; however, the driver was an hour late picking us up.
very bad service, unprofessional driver that made me stop for him to have a coffee and cigarette. no seatbelt int he car. worse is reckless driving and not respecting seed limit 160km/h. i dont recommend. the least that can be done is the tour to check his drivers and car quality.
Driver arrived at the hotel on time. We experienced good Egyptian style driving hotel to hotel. Didn’t need to be told repeatedly to fill out a review. He did okay with his English - he is working on improving this and would encourage him to do so.
Hady was a great driver. Very professional and courteous . He even stoped to buy us food when we were hungry .
Very smooth drive! No worries driver was very sweet and kind! Got to destination safe and sound even had a couple of naps on the way!
I did not receive the service I paid for. On arrival in Cairo I could not locate the driver or the car. There was no one with a sign with either my name or the transport company’s name on it (Emo Tours). I phoned the number that I had been given for the driver and it was disconnected and then phoned the contact number for the office and was told there was no car for me. I then had to book another taxi and pay again. Later the driver contacted me to say they were waiting for me but I had already left by then. On contacting Viator they said they cannot refund the money I had paid despite not receiving the service. This is deeply disappointing. Do not use Emo Tours in Egypt. I would also not use Viator again if this is the level of service they are happy to support.
The transpott was perfect. The driver was a great driver, professional, had a good english and was incredibly nice and talkative during the whole drive.
Driver picked us up on time and drove carefully. There was no stress involved. Picked us up at airport and dropped us off at our hotel.
We booked an evening transfer from Giza to Alexandria cruise port..I reached out to them the morning of for confirmation...no reply...reached again after we returned from our Giza Pyramids excursion...finally received confirmation 2 hrs before pickup...they subcontracted our ride out to an independent driver( who arrived 30 minutes late)...he made 2 stops on the way...first for fuel and second for coffee ☕️ ( for himself) none of these stops where at our request...all this added an extra hour and half to our trip....we made our ship departure with time to spare( glad we allowed extra time)..overall wasn't that bad..just a little frustrating.
Traffic was treacherous, but my driver exhibited a calm demeanor and joined in the slugging match. When I realized that driving in this.milieu requires a certain skill set, I sat back, relaxed and enjoyed a new experience. He was very capable, friendly and got me here safely.
Khaled, our driver, was truly excellent. He was very kind, and our conversations with him were both enjoyable and informative, especially as this was our first visit to Egypt. He was the first Egyptian we met, and because of him we gained a very positive first impression of the country. What impressed us most was his driving: given the traffic conditions in Egypt, it seemed essential to have a skilled driver, and Khaled’s driving was both comfortable and remarkably adept at navigating the complex roads. In addition, the smooth coordination with Emo Tours made meeting our driver easy and effortless. I am very satisfied with this program and would gladly recommend it to others.
Nice driver! He stopped to get us water and coffee we also had a bathroom break along the way. Would recommend
The transfer with Hady was perfect. He is not only a safe driver, but also talkative throughout yet knows when you just want to relax and rest. I would recommend him any day.
I had taken a train to Alexandria before. While the train is fine, the crazy chaos of Ramses train is over-stimulating and overwhelming for me now. I asked my travel agent if there were other alternatives. I was massively jet lagged and overslept missing my noon pickup. I checked into my hotel around 3am. The hotel failed on their 11am wake up call. The company was super great about communicating with me on WhatsApp when I woke up to see the message. Fortunately my driver was also late. Although he didn't speak much English and my Arabic is horrible, he picked how I was doing. He stopped in the middle of of a busy street so could take a picture of the Nile. He stopped and picked a cold bottle of water for me. About half way there I realized I hadn't eaten anything since my flight the night before. Without me saying anything, at the same time he pulls over to a busy rest stop and said "toilets ten minutes". I think I was the only American there, and somehow was able to get a cheese sandwich to go. He dropped me off next the hotel. I'm so glad my travel agent picked this alternative.
Communication was really good for pickup with tour company. We did not get the van from the photograph. Vehicle seemed to be privately owned and did not have tour company logo. It was clean, but older. Be careful the driver does not try to add anything to your bill at the rest stop because he did to us. Rest stop was clean and had good food options. Driver was punctual, played good music, and carried our bags. Uber from the Cairo airport to Alexandria may have been a cheaper and better option for transfer.
The whole experience was wonderful, the car, the driver Magdy who went above and beyond to help us and make us feel welcome, great driver, very safe and polite... highly recommended...
Great service and excellent drive. Very courteous and patient even though we confused our pick up time
We had smooth ride to Alexandria. Good vehicle condition. Driver speaks minimum English and we had to stop him from constantly taking eyes off the road and looking at his phone.
Kareem was an excellent driver. Didn't drive fast, so I felt safe. He stopped and bought us water, juice and candy. That was so kind of him. He also had a great playlist of soft, relaxing music. Thank you Kareem for making our very long drive from Cairo Airport to Alexandria so pleasant.
They contacted us before arrival and said they would be at the Airport by 5.30pm. However, once we arrived there was no one to meet us and I had to call the number a few times including the Viator helpline. By the time they arrived ,it was 1 1/2 hrs late and we had to travel to Alexandria it was a very tiring trip
We missed our meeting with the driver in our airport hotel lobby by an hour, which was our fault. We overslept after our flight from the West Coast of USA. The driver came back & took us to Alex. We really appreciate it. The car was clean & comfortable. The driver was eager to point out sights along the way, which was nice. Great work!
I had an excellent experience with the transfer service from Cairo to Alexandria. The driver was prompt, courteous, and made the long journey incredibly smooth and comfortable. Despite the dynamic and sometimes unpredictable driving styles of others on the road, the driver maintained a high level of professionalism, navigating safely and responsibly the entire way. His calm demeanor and friendly attitude added an extra touch of relaxation to the trip. The vehicle was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, making the journey all the more enjoyable. I’m very impressed with the quality of this service and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stress-free transfer between cities. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!
The operator was a constant communication with me. The driver was very friendly and above all, was on time. I recommend them to anyone without a doubt.
They went above and beyond to make our journey so good, took us by some famous landmarks and everything!
Driver was very good. We would have preferred English speaking. But very polite and drove very well. Will recommend for future trips.
My driver Mohamed was great! He was at my hotel an hr before the pick up time. He was a safe driver and entertaining too.
We were assigned Waleed as a driver and it was the worst and scariest experience of our two-week trip in Egypt. I appreciated that Emo Tours would message on WhatsApp and found that our flight time had changed, so they adjusted the pick up time. We got picked up after midnight from the Cairo airport. There were so many communication issues. We were told to send photos of where we where. I shared my location in WhatsApp many times. We expected the driver to be inside like other times we got picked up. We were never told where to go and we did not know if the driver was coming to us (and even knew where we were). I got the impression that our driver was not even at the airport yet. Again, communication was horrible. Emo Tours did not let is know until the following day that drivers cannot go inside the airport, we had to come outside. But they did not tell us that (I have the chat screenshots of this). Even still, we did not know where to go outside to. I communicated several times that we are foreign and we do not understand how this airport works. So we were picked up later than expected, which is a lot when you are traveling from Cairo to Alexandria. After a few hours, we got to Alexandria. I always check on Google maps where my drivers are going to make sure they take us where we are supposed to go. Waleed passed the turn for the city. I told him to stop. I told him to turn around. He did not listen to me. I am showing him on my phone where we need to go. He would not stop (but he did stop earlier in the trip to smoke). He asks for the name of the hotel, which he should have already had from Emo Tours! I give him the name of the hotel. It turns out that he has no data on his phone, so he is not even able to use GPS to get us to our destination. I was horrified. He then had to use MY phone and my GPS with Google Maps, but even then, he could not follow simple turn left or turn right directions. It was after 3 AM, we were exhausted and trying to direct our driver to follow the directions on my phone. We were really afraid for awhile and I could not contact Emo Tours for help because the drive was using my phone. I contacted Emo Tours to complain and also contracted Viator. We requested a partial refund and it was denied. I made a specific request that this driver not work with Viator guests again. No customer should deal with a driver who does not know your final destination, does not have GPS, and who refuses to stop or turn around when told to (because they are going the wrong direction). This was in my top three worst experiences in a car when traveling overseas.
Syed was the best driver. Accommodating and hospitalable. He took me every where in Cairo. I was able to go on 2 tours and other places I wanted to visit
Very professional driver. He was kind and wearing a shirt and tie. His SUV was clean and new. He stopped and purchased water and food if we wanted. I wish we could have had him for our trip back. Unfortunately with this booking system you can never tell who will pick you up. Most cars are pretty bad. Filled with dust and smoke. The pictures do NOT show the reality of what you will see picking you up. Fortunately we had a wonderful experience with our driver. I’m so happy to have met and ridden with him.
Our driver was on time and very courteous. He was a safe driver and got us to our hotel safely. I would highly recommend Sayed Yaha ! He was great!
We asked for a private transfer from Cairo to Alexandria. Belal was a pleasure to ride with - very friendly and helpful. He was a safe and considerate driver and got us to our hotel on time, and also pointed out sights along the way. Thank you Belal! Emo Tours was very easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and quick to respond.
Our driver Pele was very professional and friendly, providing valuable details on locations we passed on the way to Alexandria. To be recommended
This was a transfer from Cairo airport to our hotel in Alexandria. Mohammad, our driver, was waiting for us at the airport with a sedan. The trip was an enjoyable experience, even with Cairo traffic, and Mohammad even introduced us to the pronunciation of several simple Arabic phrases. We requested him as a driver on our return to Cairo and it was honored by Emo Tours. We recommend this company
This was a car transfer from Cairo airport to a hotel in Alexandria. The driver, Mohammad, was ready at the airport when we arrived. The trip to Alexandria went smoothly except for the traffic getting out of Cairo during rush hour. Mohammad is an excellent driver and helped introduce us to the pronunciation of Arabic phrases. We enjoyed having him as the driver and requested him for the return trip which was honored by Emo Tours. A very good experience and would not hesitate to recommend Emo Tours.
Professional drivers who know driving as well as the neighbourhoods so no problem of navigation in a foreign country.
We booked Emo for our transfer from Cairo to Alexandria. Our driver Mohammed was wonderful. He entertained us on the drive by pointing out things of interest and teaching us Arabic. Mohammed made it a very pleasant and enjoyable journey, We would certainly recommend Emo tours based on this experience.
Chadi king of the road (perfect driver ) Good communication, save driving 👍🏼💕🌷 We wish to see u again soon 🇹🇳🇸🇾💕🌷
What a transportation nightmare! My wife and I were traveling off a cruise ship to Cairo overnight, and booked Emo Tours Egypt for our transportation back to the ship the next day. We had an exceptional visit to Egypt on this bucket list trip! However, we had been a little bit leery about venturing into Egypt with a war now in Israel nearby - so there was some anxiety in our doing so. In any event, I did a search on Trip Advisor and found Emo Tours Egypt had posted a photo of nice looking, marked van, with air conditioning, with a professional looking driver, wearing a suit, in its excursion listing on Trip Advisor. So, relying upon that, I booked this transport. Later on the day of pick up, I should have been alerted that there was something awry when I received a message 30 minutes before our scheduled pick up time that the driver would be an hour late. When the driver showed up, he was a kid in street clothes in a private, wrecked and dirty car. We were on a tight schedule and needing to get back to the ship before it disembarked at 5:00 pm. Because the valets at our hotel had assisted us into the car and had been speaking with the driver, it wasn’t until we were under way and I wanted to confirm that the driver knew where we were going, that I discovered that he did not speak a syllable of English! So, we had no way to communicate with him, except initially by delayed WhatsApp messaging with the tour operator. Moreover, we started the transport with the windows down. Once we were on the highway, my wife and I were getting wind blown and the temperature was rising, so I communicated wanting to roll up the windows and utilizing the car’s a/c. At that point, he’d been cued in to use a translation app for us to communicate. He went through the useless motions of turning on the a/c in the car, likely all along knowing that it wasn’t going to work, which it didn’t. He tried humor, telling me that his a/c must be on vacation. Adding to the discomfort, he had his car seat so far back that my wife had to sit sideways with barely enough room for her legs. A trip that had taken 2 hours and 20 minutes going to Cairo, now took over 3 hours and 30 minutes to get back. Here’s why. First, we had to stop for gas not long after being picked up - this obviously should have been done beforehand. Next, we stopped one other time for a bathroom break and drinks, which was expected. On each occasion that we stopped, the driver had to open the hood and tinker with something in the engine to get the car to start. He went straight to it each time, so this was obviously a known problem beforehand.. And it wasn’t apparent that the car was going to start on those occasions - so it was fingers crossed and prayers! The car would struggle to turn over and then finally would. Once we were nearing Alexandria, I confirmed with him that we were going to the cruise terminal. It was only then I learned that he had no idea where that was. We drove around in circles for an hour, stopping for directions. We ended up in some bad neighborhoods,, while doing so, around the port. At one point, we took a wrong exit off the highway. When our driver realized this, he stopped, put the car in reverse and backed up over 100 yards up the exit ramp to get back onto the highway! We were just holding our breath not to be rear-ended! Not great for people already concerned about their safety just being in Egypt. I communicated with the operator twice about his driver not knowing where to go. The operator called him twice, but obviously couldn’t provide any direction either. Eventually, we arrived near our gate at the port, although instead of putting us at the gate, the driver had let us off a block away, but we finally made it with luggage in tow. We got to the ship with 15 minutes to spare before the all aboard call. This was a ridiculous experience, not the way we had hoped to end our otherwise exciting visit to Egypt. I have attached photos demonstrating all of this. Avoid at all costs! This company should be banned as a transportation service allowed to be listed on Trip Advisor’s usually reliable site!
Friendly driver and picked us up on time. Very careful driver. We felt comfortable to ride with him.
Fast efficient transfer cairo to alexandria. Pick up on time, journey length as advertised. Comfortable vehicle, careful driver
The driver’s car was clean and he was very helpful/respectful. He also drove safely and not “Cairo-style” which I suspect is to accommodate passengers who are used to a different style of driving. There are transfer options that are cheaper but I recommend this one if you are looking for a stress-free ride and feeling very comfortable.
Great informative tour by Rania. But the real MVP is Mahran our driver aka the Egyptian Vin Diesel. He is safe, funny, accomodating, good conversations, and very attentive to his customers. He was so awesome that we requested him for 2 other tours to follow. Ask for him and you will not be disappointed!
We were very excited for our tour of Alexandria. The driver picked us up in a bus nice and early and we embarked on the nearly 4 hour drive from Cairo to Alexandria. Upon arrival, we met our guide, Marwa. On the tour we visited the Catacombs of Kom Al Shofaka, Pompey’s Pillar, the Ancient Roman Amphitheater, stopped for lunch at a Greek restaurant, and ended with the Library of Alexandria. We were supposed to, however, make an additional stop at the Fort Quaitbay. Our group was very excited for the stop at the Fort, we could see it from our restaurant and could not wait to visit. Over the entire day Marwa seemed extremely rushed and hurried us through the experiences. She spoke very quickly and barely told us any history, she took us to each spot long enough for a photo and was ready to leave. We did not explore the entire Catacombs, and were told everything closed at 3 pm. We found out afterwards, everything in fact did NOT close at 3 pm. Once we left the restaurant and asked her about the Fort, she refused to take us and told us it was not included in the tour. We explained it was one of the top attractions on our tour and what we were most excited for. She argued and told us there was no reason to see it, we weren’t going and should just take a photo on the drive away (we were very far away). Deflated, we visited the museum and were pawned onto the museum’s tour guide. Once we left we asked to walk closer to the beach so we could at least see the water, she refused and only “allowed” us to walk so far before she called the bus and made us leave. Overall there WAS a tour, however a very disappointing one.
We booked a Private Day Tour To Alexandria from Cairo on 20 March for a 2 May trip - inclusive of a private car + guide + entry fees. The one good thing about the tour was our lovely driver - who was great, played some awesome music and provided some peanuts and water for us. Unfortunately, the rest of the day trip was awful. We read on their website (see red font in the attached brochure, which they also emailed us upon booking) that we needed a 6am pickup as the Alexandria Library was limited to 200 tickets a day. As the website did not give us a 6am option - I write in to request for a 6am pick-up as we really wanted to visit and see the inside of the library. I'll explain why this was an annoying important part of the horrible tour. I also did not opt for their set-lunch, as I am fussy about food and wanted to be dropped off at a specific restaurant with good reviews (see top right of my booking confirmation with my special request). I reached out on 1 May to confirm if I could get a contact for a driver, as I've read some reviews here saying they were left stranded with no contact number. They emailed back to confirm that someone will contact me once they've reached. And just hours later, I got an email reminder for a 7am - NOT 6am pick-up (see email thread). I emailed back and they responded to then re-confirm our 6am pick-up, asking for me to share my location as we were staying in an Airbnb. So I did that, and got a text at 5:40am on the day of pick-up (see whatsapp - the timestamp is in Singapore time as I'm back home) to again ask for the location. I was getting annoyed, but would rather repeat my location again so there's no miscommunication. Our lovely driver arrived at around 6:20am and we reached Alexandria slightly before 9am, with a coffee stop in between. We were taken to the Catacombs first which left me confused as their brochure clearly said we needed to arrive at the Library by 9am for tickets - I texted the number to see if this was a mistake - and never got a response back. This speaks volumes of who they are as a company. Eriny, our guide, arrived at around 9:05am. I asked if we needed to be at the Library first for tickets, she seemed confused and said don't worry - this is the usual itinerary. She seemed a bit flustered and didn't introduce herself or ask us our names.. but we left it and tried to enjoy the tour. We did find Eriny very soft spoken and we put it down to shyness. She explained a little bit about everything which was alright (a bit different from the much more experienced guides we had from Osiris tours). I also reminded her of the lunch location as I didn't trust Emo Tours in sharing details with their guides. She said don't worry - she'll help us later. Things got weirder when we arrived at our second stop - the Pompey's Pillar. While walking inside the grounds, Eriny brought out some handmade magnets asking if we were keen on buying any - they were made by some friends at her university. We very politely said no, thank you. When leaving the Pompey's Pillar - she insisted we popped into the gift shops as the owners were her friends who were trustworthy. At first we didn't want to but relented - and we ended up buying many posters, papyrus, little souvenir's such as lighters and pyramids. We spent a good 30 minutes there, more than the time we stopped at both the catacombs and pillars. Next was the Roman theatre - and she whipped out a brochure of cartouche necklaces (see photo) and asked if we were keen. Although a little annoyed as we had a long drive there and barely saw the sights - we were actually interested as we assumed a guide was trustworthy and we would have a safer experience buying things via her. We placed our orders for $235 USD (1 silver cartouche at 40 USD, 3x mixed gold/silver cartouches at 65 USD each) as she said we could collect it at the end of the tour. This, to us, meant that at least she would still be with us and we would get it directly from her. She asked for us to fully pay her in cash to get the order started - and of course we didn't carry that much cash with us. She found us an ATM near the Citadel - and it was spoilt, so she said we could continue our tour to the Citadel first since we were there. About 45 minutes later - she took us to another ATM and while my husband was withdrawing cash, she mentioned that we can choose one of the lunch packages as part of the tour. I said no - I clearly mentioned that I wanted lunch at a specific place and have been saying the same since I made the tour booking two months ago. She tried selling lunch packages at two restaurants (one looked very old in the Google reviews, the other a bit more upscale but at this point - I've grown very weary and tired of her). Since I insisted on my lunch venue - Eriny said we had to pay another 20 USD as they needed to pay the driver more to wait 1.5 hours for us. First of all - why didn't anyone from EMO tour mention this in the beginning? I would gladly pay extra if you were more transparent. Secondly, I mentioned again directly to Eriny that I wanted to go to a specific restaurant - and she didn't mention paying extra for the wait then. I was so annoyed. We got into the van, and she asked for payment for the cartouches (note that it has been 1 hour since the first ATM). As all trust was lost, I asked her to again CONFIRM when exactly we will receive the cartouches - she mentioned then that it was too late, so she'll place orders at their Cairo branch and that the driver will help us pick-it up for us. We said no, you promised us at the end of the tour - can you at leave drive us to the shop so we can guarantee the purchase. We were not getting a receipt and have no proof of purchase once she takes our cash. The contact from EMO tours also still has not responded to my text about the library tickets. So we decided to say no then to the cartouches even though we still had the Library and lunch to still visit which would've given us at least 2 hours (see my note below on where we got our cartouches made within the hour). In the end - we paid 15 USD for the driver to wait so we won't be held hostage to their set-lunch. Yes we spent more for lunch but I like to know what I'm eating and would rather pay more for quality. Eriny's behavior went from friendly to glum when we brought us to the library - shared 3 facts in 3 minutes and asked us if we had any questions twice, before leaving us to explore it on our own for 15 minutes. Note that the 6am start-time/200 ticket limit was only applicable during COVID. And not once - through emails, whatsapps and our first chat with Eriny when she met us - was this explained. If we knew, we would've just had a 7am start. She then dropped us off at the lunch venue I choose and left us there, the driver waited for our pick-up back. So all in all we only had 2 hours of total tour time, 6 hours of driving and 1.5 hours of shopping/arguing. Eriny was more interested in selling us things than actually sharing more about the sights we visited. It was the absolute worst experience with Eriny and EMO tours. We honestly booked a private tour thinking we would get a decent guide who wasn't only going to focus on selling to us. 100% would never recommend this tour company. PS: Khan el-Khalili bazaar has a shop that created 4x beautiful cartouches (3x in silver and 1x 18k gold plated) for just 2,600 EGP or 84 USD. And they got it done within AN HOUR. SO please do not purchase these from Eriny, go down and see it for yourself and collect it soon.
Driver arrived in the right place at exactly the right time. He drove us out of town directly to the airport, stopping at excellent comfort and snack station en route. Reliable and efficient.
Pickup at Cairo was 2+ hours late with no real explanation given. When pickup was finally made the car reeked of cigarette smoke and it appeared the driver had been a last minute hire. Additionally a second person was in the car, (besides the driver) and when I contacted Emo Tours as to why, no explanation was provided. Ride was fine and we arrived at our destination safely. I will say that we used Emo Tours for transportation in other Egyptian cities while we were here and all were excellent. Not sure why this particular trip wasn’t also.
