The driver arrived a bit late but ok...in the dark before sunup we were driven to an underpass. Felt sketchy. Got on the sitting camel.... The ride I envisioned would have great pyramid views. This ride was long aside the major highway. The camel guy was not concerned at all with the level of difficulty. We finally got to the destination that has to be at least a half mile from the giza pyramids. It was not a good picture. The camel guy smoked the whole time which blew back on us. The ride was too far. We got off after the photo... Because of how the camel guy had me sitting and holding the saddle. I fell off when the camel got up... From the full height of the camel. I told the guy I was going to walk but it was a long made to get back on.. He did not call the car to come get me and continued chain smoking. I was miserable bc of the long ride and sore. Luckily wasn't hurt but sore for several days. We used to have horses and ridden alot...but with a camel it's more jostle...no stirrups as and little to hold on to. The giza and spinx part was fine but on a 1 to 10 our guide was a 6. Lunch was a steer sandwich where other tours was nice sit down. I'm hindsight I should have refused to get off and remained on the camel and only gotten off at the end of the ride.

Total scam. Never turned up, I waited an hour after getting up at 4am. I read the other reviews thinking it would be fine, but it wasn’t. They refunded me though, but I’d avoid and not risk it.
Arrived 2am into our hotel so arranged for this trip as it was ideal due to the time and pickup from the hotel (not able to check in yet) and also sunrise camel tour. Noor our guide was so knowledgable, friendly and accommodating to our needs. Couldn’t have asked for a better 1st experience and introduction to the wonder of Cairo. He got us a traditional Egyptian breakfast after the camel ride which was tasty, then onto a personal tour of the pyramids, spilling his wealth of knowledge on us and also stopping us from getting any hassle for camel rides, horse rides etc due to being with him. Can’t recommend this tour enough and if you get Noor you’ll be extra lucky!
Horrible experience not only with the tour agency but with Viator itself. The tour agency never replied to my messages about pick up time and location. I constantly messaged them. I even googled the agency to message them privately through WhatsApp and still nothing. The day came and no word from them. I messaged Viator to get our money back and they said they couldn’t because we didn’t update the pick up location. We simply couldn’t. We aren’t staying in a hotel, but renting an apartment. And Viator wouldn’t understand that. So $240 down the drain with horrible customer service. If I could give negative stars I would.
It was a scam. The tour operator didn't show up. I got up at 4 to be ready for 04.30. Later I found out that Giza pyramid plateau does not open till 07.10 so how could I have gone camel riding? I wouldn't. Therefore scam! Viator refunded me quickly. But they couldn't get through to operator either. Was very disappointed by my start to the holiday, but I organised something myself.
Mahmoud Hafez was the best tour guide ever!!!! We got to do a camel ride at sunrise and then do a pyramid tour with him afterwards. Felt safe the entire time and he was so much fun! We got to the pyramids before anyone else - we were the FIRST ones there so no crowds at all. He took great photos of us as well. He also taught us words in arabic , took us to a traditional Egyptian breakfast (food was SO good) and took us to a couple local shops (scents/perfume and artwork). He was so funny and super informative as well. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Egypt!
During our first visit to Egypt, on just our second day, we set off on a private tour that truly lived up to its promise with an unforgettable experience at the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, and an engaging museum tour. What really took the biscuit was the thrilling camel ride at sunrise by the pyramids—absolutely the bee's knees. Egypt's history is mind-blowing all on its own, but having a top-notch guide can turn a cracking good experience into something extraordinary. We struck lucky with Ashraf as our guide. His profound insights into Egypt's history, delivered with a personal touch, left us chuffed to bits. Ashraf also had a flair for photography, capturing some of the best moments of our trip. It's one thing to visit Egypt, but it's another kettle of fish to explore it with a guide like Ashraf, who offers reasonable pricing and a lively tour that makes history jump off the pages.
This was an amazing experience! I felt incredibly well cared for throughout the entire journey. The camels were in perfect health, and the camel driver was a delight. My guide's English was flawless, and his expertise of the Giza pyramids was truly fascinating. I especially loved learning about the building methods and am thrilled with the professional-quality photos that he captured during this unforgettable experience!
The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He came with a driver and escorted us to all the interesting areas in Giza and made us feel a bit like locals walking around with him. It was great thank you.
Camel ride under the moon light was actually a bit difficult for me more than I thought, but also a surreal experience that is hard to have in my life. When I was able see the Sunrise, I almost cried. Thank you so much for giving me such a touching beautiful memory. The pyramids and the sphinx in the early morning looked so mystical and also the best timing as less visitors. The Egyptian falafel sandwich breakfast was the most I loved while my stay in Egypt. You would be able to have more experiences if you request. I definitely recommend this tour for everyone!
We are first time visitors to Egypt and on our second day of arrival I booked us a private tour to see the pyramids, the Sphinx , and the museum (with the camel ride which was definitely one of the highlights). I have to say, Egypt has a Lot of history and it’s impressive to see it, but having a knowledge and caring guide makes the whole experience even better. We were lucky to get Manar Atwa as our tour guide and she was excellent and shared with us so much of her personal insight into Egypt’s history. Not every guide would do that . A very memorable day. And she took some of the best photos from our entire trip :)
Our tour guide, Zenab, was the best!! Very organized, knowledgeable and accommodating. She always made sure we knew what to expect at each stop and ensured we were pleased at every step. I most appreciated her making sure that we weren't overly harrassed by local 'merchants'! Our driver was also great! It was a relief to know that we were safe and could relax while with them.
My friend and myself came to Egypt for a few days mainly to see the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. We took this tour and do not regret it one single bit. Our tour guide, Manar, literally knows everything there is to know about Egyptology and made the entire experience so much more special. We could really tell it was much more than just a job for her and that she has a passion for Egypt's ancient history. I'm really happy we went to see these places with a professional guide and not just winged it. Manar explained everything we were seeing and put everything into historical context from the start to the end in one consistent story. I've really learned a lot and will not forget this day! Apart from the Pyramids we saw the Egyptian Museum including the Tutankhamun artefacts, we got to ride a camel near the pyramids for a short while, had lunch, visited a papyrus gallery/museum (learnt a bunch there too) and spent a few hours at the Khan El Khalili market. It was a fully packed day, never boring and I would in full honestly really recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Egypt!
My friends and I only had one full day in Cairo and this was the perfect tour for it. We had the time of our life’s on this tour. Everyone always talks about how unsafe Egypt is, but that was not my experience at all. We didn’t have a single part of the trip where we felt uncomfortable for unsafe!
On the strength of previous reviews we (wife, brother in law, his wife and me) booked this tour to round off our stay in Egypt after our Nile cruise; it proved to be an excellent choice. Our guide, the wonderful Zenab, contacted us the evening we arrived in Cairo to confirm details for the following day, and was waiting for us in the foyer at 0800. Her meticulous but flexible planning style ensured that we had a fantastic camel ride and saw the Pyramids and Sphinx before the crowds and the heat built up, and after a quick visit to a couple of shops ( we recommend Aladdin’s Bazaar for cartouches) she took us to a very good restaurant overlooking the sites. We got to the Antiquities Museum in the city where, once again, we were able to wonder round the entire collection in our time and free of crowds - so different to the chaotic experience of our last visit 16 years ago. The day was such a resounding success that we asked Zenab to arrange tickets for us to see the Pyramids Son et Lumiere Show that evening. Sitting in the hotel afterwards we all agreed that this had been the perfect end to a fantastic holiday. We recommended Zenab to friends in Hurgada who were also flying in to Cairo for a few days before flying home. They also booked a tour with her and their feedback afterwards was just as positive. Zenab and her driver, Nasser, were excellent and to anyone reading this review we have nothing but praise for her and would fully recommend her as your guide. Thank you Zenab, just make sure you let us know when the new Antiquities Museum opens at Giza so we can come back and see you again. Mr D, L, G & E
We started with an early camel ride before it got too hot, guided tour of the pyramids, Sphinx, and museum. Zenab also took us to a market and a place to get handmade jewelry! The lunch we had a view of the Sphinx and pyramids head on! Very well organized!
I had a wonderful time with Zeinab! We started the morning with the camel rides and pyramids. Included in the tour was a wonderful lunch! Along with several local guides showing me history and details of Jewelry, Papyrus, and Perfumes/Oils! We finished the day off with a trip to the museum. So much to see!! So much to learn! ( The Mummies were pretty cool! ) Please do not hesitate about safety issues, Egypt is a must see!!
My boyfriend and I went to Egypt for a few days in November 2019, mainly to see the great pyramids and the Sphinx. We did this tour and don't regret a second of it. Our guide Zozo knows literally everything there is to know about Egyptology and made the whole experience even more special. You could really tell that it was much more than just a job for her and that she has a passion for the ancient history of Egypt. I'm really glad we visited these places with a professional guide and didn't just go out on it. Zozo explained everything we saw and put everything from beginning to end in a historical context, in a consistent story. I have really learned a lot and will not forget this day! In addition to the pyramids, we also visited the Egyptian Museum including the Tutankhamun artifacts. We were allowed to do a short camel tour near the pyramids, had lunch, visited a papyrus exhibition/gallery (there I also learned some new things) and spent a few hours at Khan El Khalili market. It was a packed day, never boring and I can honestly recommend it to anyone thinking about visiting Egypt!
