Pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by tour guide to start your tour . The Giza pyramid complex, also called the Giza Necropolis, is the site on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt that includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. All were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. The site also includes several cemet
Khufu's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman; diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been found but the site has not been excavated.[4][5] The valley temple was connected to a causeway which was largely destroyed when the village was constructed.
Khafre's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple and the king's pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre. Several were found in a well in the floor of the temple by Mariette in 1860.
Menkaure's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king's pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added on to the valley temple.
The Great Sphinx lies on the east side of the complex. Current consensus among Egyptologists is that the head of the Great Sphinx is that of Khafre. Along with these major monuments are a number of smaller satellite edifices, known as "queens" pyramids, causeways and valley pyramids . Tour Finishes with drop off at Customer Hotel in Cairo or Giza

Overall, everything went fine with the tour and camel ride photos came out nice, but after the tour we were taken to a papyrus store, which was not part of the itinerary. It turned out to be an off putting attempt to extract more money out of tourists.
The trip was very good. Our guide Ms. Heeba was very knowledgeable and explained everything in details. Thanks to her for explaining the history of Egypt and it's empire. All the sites are well preserved and maintained.
We were lucky to have same tour guide and driver for our tours in Egypt. Made our tour thoroughly enjoyable, interesting and filled with amazing facts and history. Highly recommend
Great experience. Seeing the pyramids up close was amazing. The guide was hospitable, flexible and accommodating.
This was my second time to Egypt and of course I had to book my tours with Emo. They are reliable, safe, have great prices but more specifically our tour guide Hazem! He is exceptional and I highly recommend him. He takes THEE best photos,,you learn important history and makes you feel safe throughout the tours. We did the pyramids, hanging church, cave church, musuem, sphinx and sunset cruise with him. He goes above and beyond! When you book Emo tours, ask for Hazem…you’ll enjoy yourself!
This was a great tour and the guide was very focused on showing us the key highlights and ensuring we felt we had enough time in each spot.
We planed with them all our tours in Egypt. We visited Luxor Temples, Giza Pyramids. Also ve arranged with them private transfer from Hurghada to Luxor, hot air balloon trip and a Nile dinner cruise in Cairo. Everything was great, they did everythig they promised. Also what I liked is that they did not insisted to sell us other things like the egyptians use to do. All the cars for theese activities were new and clean with AC. Their guides are friendly and knows a lot of things about Egypt history. The only not so good thing was the lunch restaurant of Giza Pyramids tour and that the guide was late with more than half an hour.
UNRELIABLE tour operator. Dealing with them is like a Chernobyl disaster! We were there for a stopover and our time was limited. We booked our tour for 8AM but THEY DID NOT SHOW UP. With our frustrations, and several unanswered phone calls to them, I booked another tour that day and only to find out that it is the same operator- EMO TOURS. Guess we were up a creek without a paddle at this time, so I tried calling them again and after 1 hour of wait and countless phone calls, (even our hotel concierge at The Ritz called them because they felt sorry for us) someone finally answered. The tour operator told us that the driver had a car accident earlier and that they are not able to do the tour - ok, well… why not give me a courtesy call instead of letting us wait for nothing?!? Doesn’t even sound apologetic. Then I requested for a refund for both tours because of the driver incident for which he said I can have them. They only refunded one tour ($70) and will not refund the 2nd ($80) because they said we didn’t show up. Really? Who did not show up again? We travel a lot and have never encountered this kind of rudeness and dishonesty. 🤔In retrospect, they sent me a message the day before of the tour that they might not be able to do it however, confirmed later that it is possible with no changes. Well, they did not even show up! NOTE: They operate different tours with same name of company- EMO TOURS. So be aware. *We ended up taking a cab to Giza and enjoyed ourselves with limited time left. I will upload the photos of my conversations with them. But as of right now, it seems impossible to upload photos here in TripAdvisor.
Fantastic experience in short time. The guide Mahmoud Anwar Was really super, he was so kind, he give a lot of useful historical information. Moreover he sowed me wonderful places to take photos. Top top guide!!! The driver Ahmed was super and kind. I strongly suggest them!
It was a nice but rushed trip. I got a message at the appointed time that the driver is waiting outside the hotel instead of in the lobby. After some coordination I met the person who told me that he's the guide and will also be driving since his driver had a minor accident earlier. The guide/driver spoke ok English and shared some basic facts about the pyramids. He was very nice but a bit rushed. We had very little time by the pyramids. The guide gave me exactly minutes by the Sphinx. The entire trip including the camel ride lasted 3 hour 40 minutes. It was heartbreaking to see the person in charge of the camel was a 10 year old kid. I truly feel for all the people involved in this tour operator but I'll try a different one next time.
The tour gide-Hazad was really nice and knowledable, he took good care of me. He made sure I have enough pictures and that noone bothers me
Hamad was a very amazing tour guide. Had a great time at all the locations. He also worked with time and he got me back to. my hotel with enough time to rest ahead of my flight. Really nice tripp
I was very lucky to have booked a tour managed by Sayed Mahmoud. He not only was an excellent tour but also a good photographer. All the important places we visited he asked me to pose and he took great photos for me. Thank you also to his driver Taha. Definitely a good Layover Tour to book when you have a short stop over in Cairo. Thank your Sayed and Taha!
I booked a half-day trip in early July 2022 and the tour guide picked me up from the airport on time and guided me through the city. Picking up this tour was one of the most thoughtful decisions I made as I was satisfied with the service. It is recommended for everyone, especially for those who have a short time stay in Cairo. The tour guide, Ayman Gabry, was friendly and knowledgeable about Egypt's history, and willingly explained everything I asked. Again, Ayman, thanks for the tour.
Had an amazing time as a couple - excellent guiding by Mohamed Hamed and lovely friendly driver Ehap El Mangalefy. Brilliant photos and information provided. Just the right level of attentiveness - fascinating but also gave us space. Nice clean car always ready to go to the next spot. Highly recommend
We really enjoyed Issam’s company during our visit to the Gisa Pyramids. He was very knowledgeable and was extremely nice with our 10yo kid. 100% recommended!
The most unbelievable experience. The half day tour of the pyramids was everything my friends and I ever could have asked for. Our tour guide, Osama, was very informative and made sure we felt safe the whole time. We took pictures and got to touch the great pyramid of Giza, rode camels, and had an incredible lunch. Everything about Emo tours is impeccable and they are great with communicating through WhatsApp before the tour. Highly recommend!!
The place itself is magnificent and I am certainly happy that we got a private guide to avoid a lot of hassle at this area. Our tour guide Ehab was on time, and was actually a great photographer so my wife was very happy. He was not pushing us into doing anything we did not want to or to buy anything which I appreciated, let us take our phase and made an extra stop in pharmacy and other shop when we needed it. The only reason I cannot give 5* is that compare to other guides, he did not share a lot of knowledge of the place, just very basic, kind of rushed going through the main area and stated Napoleon destroying the nose of Sphinx as a fact which is already known as highly unlikely. And if I wouldn't ask a lot questions myself since I am very curious about the place, I wouldn't learn almost anything. However, I would still recommend the tour itself and Ehab himself if you wish to have a well organized basic kind of laid back introduction to Giza's highlights and very nice (though many cheezy) photos.
Great visit with our very knowledgeable guide mamdouh kamal and driver Hamid! We were picked up on time at our hotel for our private tour, van was very clean and new and very safe. Our guide skipped the line when we arrived at the pyramids and gave us a very detailed visit. Highly recommend!
Osama and Hassan were excellent tour guides. Very friendly and informative. Would highly recommend if you want a personalized tour to the pyramids and sphinx.
Best day ever! I couldn't have asked for a better guide. Mohamed Hamed showed me the most incredible day. He made my experience even better than I had hoped for. Very knowledgeable, professional and fun. He took pictures and showed me an adventurous day. I will never forget it.
We booked with this company twice as we really enjoyed their service a HALF DAY PYRAMID TOUR:our driver Muhammad Hassan was super friendly. The car was impeccable and he was there on time. Our guide,Atrim (not sure if correctly spelled) was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable . He took us some amazing pictures and was very friendly. We really enjoyed our trip with them. We also highly recommend the ABU SIMBEL TRIP from Aswan , our driver Ahmed was amazing. Very friendly and he was there in time.He Made our 6 hours trip very enjoyable.
We had a fantastic time, our guide was great and we had first class service and everything went well
The pick up from the Hotel was in time. Mohamed was very friendly during the whole tour and explained everything in detail. First of all we had the Pyramid tour and there we had the chance to take a lot of pictures. Then we had the camel ride. We stopped in a place in the desert where you could take amazing pictures and the guy guiding the camels was very friendly and helpful with us. Then we were to Sphinx and the guide took also from us beautiful pictures. Furthermore we had the opportunity to enjoy some local food, to buy perfume and pendant necklace. I recommend you to ask for Mohamed Hamed!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and polite. We were able to take our time during each stop. The tour and lunch exceeded our expectations.
I highly recommend this tour with Abu Khallil! He was entertaining, knowledgeable and very friendly! He, Engy and Sayed made sure we were happy, comfortable and satisfied with everything and we 100% were!
Amazing! Thank you Mohamed Hamed! The perfect guide. He gave us an awesome tour with a lot of info + shopping. He took care of us to not get ripped off and took us away from turist shopping areas in the heart of Cairo and at local businesses which was exctly what we wanted and what everyone who wants to connect with the soul of Cairo needs. Thank you again Mohamed and hope to see you again! P.S. Pro-tip: if you don’t need a guide in Cairo but you need a great photographer, Mohamed is your guy ;) 10/10.
We had a great day with Ahmed elsayed. He told us so much about the egyptian history and could anwser all our questions. He also takes alot of pictures to provide you with alot of great memories. The only thing we didnt like was the experience with the seller of the papyrus shop were weve been at the end. If you wanna have a fun and insteresting day make sure to ask for Ahmed Elsayed :)
Great day got all the information I needed. Seen all the pyramids and went on camel to was great. Tour guide essam was very good as well.
What a fun and informative tour. Our guide Ola was not only well versed on ancient Egyptian history, but her English was superb. Some tours, the guests spend so much time trying to figure out what the guide is saying, but Ola enunciated perfectly. Once you get over feeling sorry for the camels that spend all day in the sun, with tourists on their back, you will really like the camel ride. It is slow moving, about 30 minutes long and the camel guide takes great photos. Then the tour finishes with options (suggested by Ola the guide) to visit other markets or shops. Definitely 5 Star - Jeff
We really enjoyed our half day tour of the pyramids! Abdelwahab, our guide, was WONDERFUL! He is very knowledgeable and made us feel very informed, comfortable and safe! It was just my sister and I traveling (both in our 20s) so that was a big deal to us. He also had some wonderful photo suggestions and we really appreciated his willingness to get some great shots of us with some of his fun suggested poses! Everything was great and we highly recommend it!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the pyramids and Sphinx. Our guide, Essam, was very knowledgeable and personable. He helped guide us through street vendors and took so many pictures for us all day. We were driven around all day in a nice and comfortable car. And the camel ride was so much fun! Really glad we chose to do this tour!
This is an amazing experience that feels like you've been transported back in time to experience the Giza pyramids and Sphinx the same way visitors did hundreds of years ago - on the back of a camel! Our guide Rasha was awesome and managed our experience flawlessly. Her knowledge, attentiveness and patience with our many questions and requests made this tour a highlight of our visit. I would highly recommend this tour and Rasha as a guide!
Our tour was awesome! The tour guide was very nice, informative, and friendly. Definitely book! It was the highlight of our trip!
After finishing our breakfast our tour guide (Bossi) was already waiting for us at the lobby, very punctual, and after meeting with her we proceeded towards the Pyramids while she introduced the activities as well as some info about day life in Cairo and the views we were passing through. Upon arrival to the pyramids Bossi gave us a fantastic explanation about the construction of the complex as well as the history behind it. We also went inside one of the small pyramids (for free). She was extremely patient and helpful while we did tons of pictures even helping us with hints for good pictures :) (really good photographer as well by the way =) ). After, we went to the panoramic view of the pyramids, where we did some more pictures as well as the Camel ride. From here we proceeded to the Valley Temple of Khafre where she provided the introduction and history about the temple itself as well as the Sphinx (to avoid being at sun), then we went to see the Sphinx where she showed what was explained. Throughout the entire tour, Bossi was very helpful and friendly, and manage to ensure we didn't get overwhelmed with requests for pictures (very common) as well as managed to avoid most of the crowded places by timing perfectly the entire tour. She never rushed or pressured us at any point, in fact at the end of the tour we even got time to stop for a presentation of Egyptian oils/essences (by suggestion of Bossi and totally optional). As conclusion I totally recommend the tour, the price/expectation is totally worth it, and the guide was spectacular.
Everything was so well organized we booked on number 99 and asked to pay when tour is done and not use our credit card they were more than willing to accommodate us. We were at the wrong pickup point that resulted in us being a bit late, apart from that our Guide Adel Hakem which is so informative and capable gave us a nice tour. He know the history very well and went out of his way to make us feel at home and enjoy the tour. We have to give a heads up to our driver Tolba "Schumacher" he is so nice and made alot of jokes and bought us falafals on our way to the tour for breakfast. The tour itself was very nice and I would recomend it to anyone who visit Cairo. To make the experience even beter ask for Adel & Tolba from Emo Tours
This tour was fantastic!!! We enjoyed every minute of it. First and foremost our tour guide was waiting at the hotel right on time, we were running late and she was extremely understanding and patient. Olfat was an incredible guide, she made the tour interesting and had us in stitches throughout. Not only did the beautiful pyramids make this trip unforgettable but so did Olfat. She was enthusiatic, passionate, kind, honest and very helpful. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone and specifically request Olfat. I would like to thank her for everything she did!
We have used Emo Tours Egypt for our Tour to the pyramids and Giza on 14/07/18. Our Bus driver Mohamed was filled with enthusiasm and was very happy and his good humour spread across the bus every fast. Our tour Guide Ola, was very energetic and made sure that everything was comfortable and we knew every single detail about the pyramids. For every question we had, she had an answer and she also made sure that we were happy and did not need anything during the tour. EMO Tours Egypt and Ola made sure that there was enough flexibility to make last second changes such as picking up people from different locations. All in all, we recommend Ola as being the best Tour guide in Egypt and Mohamed as being the best driver. We thank them and Emo Tours Egypt.
Our tour was a last minute trip decision after spending the evening with Essam, our guide. We had gone to the Sound and Light show with him. His knowledge of the area and his great grasp of the English language made it easy to learn from him and about the pyramids. He arranged all the itinerary and made sure we were protected at all angles. We chose to go inside the Great pyramid. It’s a very narrow space and half of the journey in and out is bending at the waste. If one is not in great condition then maybe not recommended to try. There isn’t much to see but rather just say that we had been inside. Essam was full of surprises and it was a good adventure with lots of pictures to help preserve the memories that we made like Essam has the Egyptian memories in his mind. Thanks for the day!
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely tour throuout the pyramids on camel with Hammet. Adel is very knowledgeable, passionate, and skilled with sharing the history or the pyramids. What a great time in the Sahara sun. Great hospitality.
We had a BLAST today at the Giza pyramids. I have booked with Emo tours yesterday the half day tour to the pyramids and sphinx and they confirmed right away. I have also requested a camel ride for 2 and they added it. The driver Zaki and the tour guide Ayman el Gabry did a wonderful job from the 1st minute of picking us from home with a new, air conditioned spacious van, to the last minute of dropping us off. Ayman provided us with valuable historic information and was readily answering all our questions with confidence which showcases his wealth if knowledge. He did the tour in both English and Arabic so that all of us understand. Most importantly, he took GREAT pics of us everywhere and knew all the tricks of how to show us holding the pyramids tip etc in the pics. Both were v v friendly, helpful and patient and we loved the carriage with the horse which suited my 3yr old toddler and my mom. Overall, wonderful experience and will definitely try other tours with them in the near future.
I was initially nervous to book something online as I am travelling alone and have never been to Cairo before. Guide arrived at my hotel on time and was very friendly. Hosam was very knowledgeable and took good care of me and I would definitely recommend him. The pyramids were stunning and I finally got to see the Sphinx with Hosam taking great photos while I was posing.
Great day trip to see the pyramids and sphinx! We were collected from our hotel lobby with a smiley Ahmed Mohammed (our guide) and then driven to our locations by Mido Carato. The trip was well organized and timed, giving us time to do things by ourself too. Definitely recommended!
I had an unforgettable adventure with a tour guide Mamdouh and driver Faris. They picked me up on time with the clean car. Driving to pyramids was really pleasant with a good music and intro to our tour. Its a breathtaking experience when you reach there. Mamdouh was very helpful with the history of all the pyramids locations including sphinxs, I entered to the smaller one of the pyramides, was riding a camel for the first time, it was really exciting experience:) At the end of sightseeing we went to the papirus store, oil perfumes store (highly recommend to go there, very good offers) and a jewlery store. I highly recommend guide Mamdouh and driver Faris as I travelled alone and felt very safe and friendly with them.
When we arrived in Cairo, our guide, Ahmed Tonsi, went through our whole itinerary with us. He realised that I had not booked a Pyramid tour. I booked something else, thinking it was a pyramid tour. He moved our whole itinerary around to accommodate adding in the pyramid tour. Best decision we could have made. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the pyramids and the sphinx. Ahmed Tonsi was amazing with my niece who completely freaked out once she saw the camels. After a lot of negotiation with her, she finally got onto the camel with him. We had a wonderful time!
With less than 48 hours to spend in Cairo, my brother and I wanted to make the most of it, and the Giza Pyramids were obviously on our list. We were able to book a half day tour online less than 36 hours prior, and it couldn't have been easier, and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the results. We opted for an 8 AM start time to try to avoid the hottest part of the day, and our guide, Bossi, and driver, Sayed, arrived early, and Bossi was waiting for us in the lobby when we thought we were going to be the ones there first. From the moment we stepped into the car, we felt so well taken care of. The car was stocked with water and assorted snacks, and was a perfect temperature. Bossi immediately began to tell us about the different areas of Cairo that we passed by, and answered any questions we had about Cairo, Giza, and Egypt with ease. When we got to the site, Bossi got us the tickets and led us through past the already-crowded entrance. From the moment that Bossi started talking about the history of the Giza Pyramids, we were immediately aware of the incredible passion she has for the history of her country and for her job. She was genuinely excited to share her knowledge with us, and her energy got us even more eager to learn more. Bossi was never unable to answer any of our many questions about ancient Egypt, and provided detailed explanations to each one. She was extremely accommodating in allowing us to add or remove stops, and we were also provided a few bonuses that we were not expecting. The tour company gifted us a complimentary camel ride at the Giza Pyramids, and Bossi took us to a papyrus store after the tour that included a demonstration on how papyrus was made. Throughout the day, Bossi ensured that we were not bothered by vendors, which was very appreciated. There was not a single point throughout our tour that Bossi was anything less than completely professional. That goes for Sayed as well, who cleaned the backseat and added a fresh spray of citrus scent between each leg of our trip, and ensured that we were never stepping into a hot car. Sayed was always waiting for us, or arrived extremely promptly, after each stop. If all of the Emo Tours employees are to the standard of Bossi and Sayed, they definitely have one of the top hiring processes in the world! We will certainly be recommending Emo Tours and especially Bossi and Sayed to our friends visiting Egypt going forward.
My brother and I had a day in Cairo, so we booked a half day tour with Emo Tours to see the highlights, specifically a few pyramids and the Sphinx. From the moment we were picked up by our guide Bossi and driver Sayed, we knew we made the right choice with Emo Tours. They were waiting for us in the hotel lobby before our agreed start time and greeted us with bright smiles. The car was clean, fresh, and most importantly, stocked with bottled water and both sweet and savory snacks! Both Bossi (pronounced BOO-see) and Sayed were extremely punctual and professional. Bossi was super energetic, and it was clear that this was not only a job, but actually a passion of hers. Upon our inquiry, she shared that she was preparing her Masters degree thesis in archeology, and loved sharing her extensive knowledge of ancient Egyptian history as a tour guide. Her English was fantastic as she radiated information of the impressive World Wonder. She could answer every question we asked and explained everything thoroughly. Bossi allowed us to customize our trip, making stops and cutting out stops as we wished. She also made sure we were not pestered by the persistent shop owners trying to sell souvenirs. Sayed was very timely and dropped us off close to each site to minimize our walking in the heat. Every time we returned to the car, he was already waiting for us. Further, between stops, he made an effort to ensure the seats were cleaned and a fresh citrus scent was the first thing we smelled each time we entered the car. Overall, we had an amazing time with Emo Tours thanks to our guide Bossi and driver Sayed. I would highly recommend a guide for these sights as seeing them alone would not do justice to the extensive history and stories behind them. More specifically, I would strongly urge booking with Bossi and Sayed to guarantee a great time. I am usually dense about history and it was never a favorite subject of mine, but the passion of our guide really allowed me to enjoy my experience and learn a lot while doing so. Definitely would recommend Emo Tours for a memorable visit to Egypt!
It was my first time visiting Cairo and seeing the pyramids was a dream come true. It could not have been better as I had the most wonderful guide ever (Merwa Bayoumi) who was very knowledgeable and really made the tour a lively one. The driver was also very nice and I could only recommend Emo Tours to everyone wanting to do their pyramid tours.
This tour represented amazing value for money with a private pick up from our Garden City hotel and 4 hours of insightful and fun commentary from our superb guide Ola. She went out of her way to make sure that everything was paced correctly for my parents who are both in their eighties. We all enjoyed a memorable day and would highly recommend EMO tours, and Ola in particular.
