About Activity
Around 08:30, our tour guide meets guests at the hotel. A short drive of about 30 minutes brings you to the Egyptian Museum, home to one of the world’s richest collections of Pharaonic antiquities. The museum showcases over 250,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of Egyptian history, including the remarkable Tutankhamun collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry discovered in the 1920s after lying untouched for more than 3,000 years.
Next, a 20-minute drive takes you to the Citadel of Saladin, built in 1183 AD by Salah al-Din on the Moqattam Hills as a defense against the Crusaders. Today, it stands as a historic landmark offering panoramic views of Cairo and housing several important monuments, including the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha. Designed by Ottoman architect Yousif Boushnaq, the mosque is renowned for its elegant alabaster design, contrasting beautifully with the surrounding cityscape.
Finally, a 10-minute drive brings you to Khan El Khalili Bazaar in Old Cairo. Guests will have approximately one hour of free time to explore its vibrant alleys, shop for souvenirs, and discover a variety of traditional handicrafts, including Islamic art pieces, Pharaonic replicas, and brassware.
