About Activity
Our tour guide meets guests at the hotel, followed by a scenic drive along the desert road to Alexandria, known as Egypt’s second capital and the “Pearl of the Mediterranean.” Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour covering some of the city’s main highlights. Begin with a visit to Pompey's Pillar, a towering column of pink Aswan granite erected in honor of Emperor Diocletian. Nearby, explore the fascinating Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an underground burial site dating back to the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, discovered by chance in the early 20th century. Continue to the impressive Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern cultural landmark inspired by the ancient Library of Alexandria, now serving as a major center for knowledge, culture, and research with multiple museums and institutions. Enjoy a photo stop at the historic Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the original site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Conclude your visit with a relaxing stop at the beautiful Montaza Palace Gardens. After the tour, drive back to your hotel in Cairo.
