Al-Muizz li-Din Allah al-Fatimi Street (Arabic: شارع المعز لدين الله الفاطمي), or al-Muizz Street for short, is a major north-to-south street in the walled city of historic Cairo, Egypt. It is one of Cairo's oldest streets as it dates back to the foundation of the city (not counting the earlier Fustat) by the Fatimid dynasty in the 10th century, under their fourth caliph, Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah (after whom the street is named).[1] Historically, it was the most important artery of the city and was often referred to as the Qasaba (or Qasabah). It constituted the main axis of the city's economic zones where its souqs (markets) were concentrated.[1] The street's prestige also attracted the construction of many monumental religious and charitable buildings commissioned by Egypt's rulers and elites, making it a dense repository of historic Islamic architecture in Cairo.[2][1] This is especially evident in the Bayn al-Qasrayn area
Visit the Papyrus Institute near Giza to discover the ancient art of making papyrus prints. You’ll learn about the manufacturing process from ancient times to the present day, and watch a demonstration to see papyrus in production today. After the tour, you’ll have chance to browse a selection of papyrus prints that have been painted

Our guide, Sam, was such an awesome guide! We had so much fun with him and he customized our trip to do exactly what we wanted to do. I would recommend him to anyone. He was fun, informative, on time and very helpful. 2 Thumbs way up.
Sam was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him as your next tour guide.
The tour was comprehensive and the guide was excellent. Thanks to Bassant for his explanations and his professionalism.
Shahd is a charming young lady who immediately made me feel welcome with her kind and friendly manners. ❤️❤️❤️ she took me to shops that ere extraordinary. I even bought a very old postcard from decades ago.
Great days shopping with our guide Nancy. She knows where to find the the good bargins. Great lunch and day.
Had a great afternoon shopping with our guide Nancy. She took us to a few of the less expensive markets at Khan El Khalili which was great. Some of the more expensive bazaars were offering the same items for a higher price. Lunch was also terrific. All in all 5/5.
Our guide wesal showed us all the government's shops for the souvenirs, we get all what we need for our family and friends
We had very helpful guide 'she showed us all the governments shops for souvenirs trusted places we went also to khan elkhale bazaar was good experience but it was good because we had guide with us

This was such an amazing experience! As a solo traveler as a solo traveler I was nervous about walking around alone not knowing where to go or what was around. I booked this tour last minute but I’m glad I did. I highly Mahmoud Hoka as your guide because he was so kind and attentive. He told me all about the history of Giza and Cairo while taking me to so many amazing places. He makes you feel comfortable, and helps you interact with the locals so you feel safe and comfortable. It was so fun to visit all the stores and the market. Lunch was delicious. I highly recommend perfect shopping day!
spent the day with Bassem who was an excellent guide and took care of everything. He explained the different parts of the itinerary, then let me choose, and then waited patiently everywhere and was a great support when I had questions or was unsure. He took pictures, and also made sure we got snacks and water when needed. In the bazaar, I think I had a much better experience because I was accompanied by an Egyptian - vendors left me alone, which was a relief. Bassem knows his way around, always finds a parking spot (!), and is a good driver in the crazy traffic. The best part of the day was when we went for lunch in a very local place downtown and had the best meal I’ve had in Cairo so far - kosheri! Delicious!
Capoo was the best! First class service all the way. Super convenient for anyone traveling solo or in a small group. Especially great if you're on a short trip like me.

Mahamoud and Besem were beyond our expectations. They made us feel safe and looked out for us. Mohamoud’s love for history shows the moment he starts speaking about pyramids, mummies and museums. They both were great, we would love to have them both again.

I had great time exploring the oldest market in Egypt, also my guide helped me to go to government shops safe to buy from there and hand made souvenirs, I get my lunch koshari and that's the most delicious food I tried, ask for the guide soha
The best about the experience was the extraordinary English of our guide. The first part was really frustrating, as they brought us to Giza, which is not stated in the program. There we were supposed to have a shopping experience at a spices, parfume and cotton shop. The overall impression ww were left with was, that everyone was trying to sell overpriced stuff to tourists. The prices were comparable to German ones or even more. At the spice shop we had to deal with a really unpleasant situation of not respecting our wishes to put us a smaller quantity of spices in the bag and after the fifth time of saying the seller that we left really annoyed. We arrived after the meal at the khan el khalili where we expected to be the highlight of our tour. Disappointing. The guide was looking a bit bored, just in a rush and wanting to get it through. He was walking fast and as a result, we couldn't see the things we would like to buy. He brought us targetet to a particular shop and then it was over. The market thing didn't last longer than half an hour. I was hoping to be guided through some streets not mainky touristic, otherwise i would have done it myself. This was not the case. If you ask me the only thing worth about this tour is the driving part, which you can also do with much less money with an uber driver. Not recommended in general.
Our market tour in Cairo with Mahmoud was a delightful experience. He guided us through the busy streets with ease, sharing interesting details about the history and culture of the area. Mahmoud’s recommendations helped us find unique items, and his calm and professional demeanor made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. Mahmoud’s genuine knowledge and care for his guests made a positive impression on us. If you’re looking to explore Cairo’s markets with someone reliable and friendly, Mahmoud is an excellent choice.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience on this tour! The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. They shared fascinating insights, kept the energy high, and made sure every detail was taken care of. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience – highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure! Thank you Mahumd and Beso !

Basem is a terrific guide! He took us to some high quality shops for papyrus, spices, and jewelry. Our next stop was lunch, which was delicious lamb shwarma (Basem asks for your preferences, so you have several choices.) Lunch was delicious. Next was the bazaar. It is a good place for trinkets, but it is worth going just for the experience! Basem will customize the tour to your taste, so you see only what interests you. I encourage you to take this tour! Better still, ask for Basem. He is patient and kind, and goes above and beyond to make you happy. He is also an expert negotiating the traffic in Cairo.
We had a wonderful time with Basem! He showed us some wonderful shops where we were able to buy some great gifts for a reasonable price. We also had a delicious lunch of lamb schwarma with Egyptian cola. The meal was great! Finally we went to the bazaar. It is good for trinkets, but even better to go just for the experience! Basem is an expert driver and handled the traffic professionally. He knows all the shortcuts. This is a great tour and should not be missed!
Good idea to initially explore Cairo in comfort. Personal guide and driver Bassem was very attentive. All questions answered, lunch included and fully flexible for extras

Today we went on the excursion, and we had the guide Basant. A charming girl, she makes you feel very comfortable at all times. She took us to eat at a typical place in the city, everything was very well taken care of. Then we went to several places and finally to the market, where she let us shop at our leisure. I recommend that you book this experience with her! A 10!!!
We really enjoyed the visit; both my friends and I were taken to very interesting and important places in the city. Basant was a very nice and friendly girl, and I would definitely do it again if I returned to Egypt with her.
Basant was incredible with us; she explained everything through the alleys and even waited for us because she gave us free time, and we arrived a little late, haha! We wish her the best of luck!!
Our super guide Bassant, super helpful and attentive, guided us on this journey between shopping, typical dishes and laughter. A really beautiful day to do absolutely.
