Had a great tour and got to see the catacombs, lighthouse, library and the old Greek city. I also got treated to finding a great shawarma spot. I definitely recommend for a tour with this company

Our guide arranged for a car to pick us up from our hotel in Cairo and we got a nice easy ride to Alexandria. Once there we were able to visit several historic and cultural landmarks. Our guide had superb knowledge on the sites we saw as well as any additional questions we had, related or not. Our tour didn’t include a food stop but upon hearing we wanted to try the city’s seafood, she was able to find us an amazing restaurant very quickly without any issues. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and very hospitable to my father and I. This tour was just my father and I believe is perfect for a small group but could easily accommodate larger numbers also.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and very a great communicator. She showed us all the sites and explained their significance and lets us have time to wander around each place too.
Shimaa was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and well spoken. She made me feel welcomed immediately. I wish all my tour guides were like her. She is awesome. Ahmed is a great driver and very nice.
We had a great day in Alexandria. So much to see and do and our guide was fantastic! Shaimaa was so knowledgeable and cheerful throughout the day. She answered all our questions and was so enthusiastic about the culture and history of the area. We would highly recommend this tour.
Sharif was our driver for the round trip from Cairo to Alexandria, and he made the journey truly enjoyable! He shared fascinating insights into Egypt, played a lovely mix of Egyptian and European music, and we had plenty of laughs along the way. His driving skills were outstanding, even in heavy traffic, and we always felt safe and comfortable. His thoughtful gestures, from buying us falafel and water in Alexandria to surprising us with fresh peanuts on the return journey, made the experience even more special. Thank you, Sharif, for your excellent driving, warm hospitality, and wonderful company. We are truly grateful and highly recommend him!
Got to visit all the great places of Alexandria with our guide Shaimaa who was very knowledgeable, professional and caring. She made the whole day enjoyable with her presence and steering all the activities efficiently. The tour plan and structure was well organized and visiting Alexandria is a 100% must if you are in Egypt. The people, culture, history and food will make Alexandria worthwhile and if you get the chance to visit with Shaimaa that’s an added bonus for your trip. Definitely recommending the tour operator for exploring Alexandria.
Excellent day trip to Alexandria Egypt , visited numerous historic sites in the city with interesting input from our guide Rabab was, an excellent English speaker. We were pickup and dropped off at our hotel in Cairo as part of the package
We planned to do some exploring and learning in Egypt during our first stay. We got very lucky as Shaimaa was an absolutely amazing instructor and guide during the tour. Very energetic and loving. Had funny jokes to break the ice and make you feel comfortable when asking questions. And I asked many dumb questions. We also got vip treatment with the driver Ahmed. He picked us up from Giza, drove us two and half hours to Alexandria, and all over the sites, then drove us another 2 and a half hours back to Giza. We slept on the ride home as we were exhausted. We had such a fun and enjoyable moment. Would recommend to request them when booking. You won’t regret it.
Fantastic day in Alexandria with Shaimaa! She was knowledgeable, professional, always smiling and great fun to be with. Her explanations made the city and its history really come alive. A big thank you also to Ahmed, our driver from Cairo, for the smooth, comfortable and professional journey. Highly recommended!
From pick up to the Ciaro airport to the drive to Alexandria and a ride back to Giza everything was incredible and seamless, I was able to see everything I wanted to and more with an incredibly kind, amazing super knowledgeable guide. Most definitely without a doubt in my mind this is an extremely well priced and thought out tour, it couldn’t have been better and I’ll forever cherish my memories. Felt like I had friends/family showing me around and they went above and beyond to make sure everything I wanted to do was accomplished. Thank you to the whole team very very much🙏
Just when I thought the tour guides could not get any better this very lovely and knowledgeable lady proved me wrong, I have found all Egyptians very friendly. Our guide today has been incredibly knowledgeable. Thankyou so much..,
The guide was amazing the tower was amazing the pick up and drop of was excellent the whole thing was the best, super informative and excellent, I would choose to come back to just this tour it was great, don’t hesitate to book, the history and culture was great,
Was a great tour! Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Great history in Alexandria. 5/5 I recommend the tour.
Talk about getting a lot for your money! Our guide Shaimaa was amazing and super knowledgeable. Ahmed, our driver, was super patient, especially considering we had a 5 hour round trip to and from our hotel. Would definitely recommend! 🙌
We had an excellent day trip from Cairo to Alexandria. The entire experience was perfectly organized and enjoyable. Our driver was extremely professional, drove very safely, and made us feel comfortable and secure throughout the journey. Special thanks to our guide, Shaimaa, who was outstanding. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Egyptian history, making every site fascinating and memorable. Her explanations were clear and engaging, and she was always happy to answer our questions. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Egypt.
The tour of Alexandria was truly a wonderful experience. We visited the Catacombs, Roman Theatre, St. Mark’s Church, the Citadel, and the Library, and each place was presented in a very engaging way. What really made the difference was the guide Shaimaa.. She had a very warm and natural storytelling style, turning every historical fact into an interesting story rather than a typical explanation. It was easy to listen, never overwhelming, and always engaging. Shaimaa created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, giving us time to enjoy each place without feeling rushed. You could really feel the passion and care in the way everything was explained. Our expectations were definitely exceeded – it was not only informative, but also very relaxing and enjoyable. Also, the transfer from Cairo was very well organized, smooth and comfortable, which made the whole experience even more stress‑free. Highly recommended 😊
Shaimaa was an amaizing tour guide, she explain us everything! The best option to take a tour in Alexandria.
Very nice experience if you like ancient history.
Be prepared for a decent drive to and from Cairo - a couple of hours each way, but there is plenty to see on the way. Soak it in! Our guide was very knowledgeable and she did a wonderful job of explaining the history of the establishment and timeline of Alexandria. The Catacombs was an unexpected highlight. Completely different to the catacombs in Paris. The current Library of Alexandria is pretty cool to finish at too.
Shaimaa was an excellent tour guide and Ahmed was an excellent driver. I was apprehensive at first due to the limited reviews on Airbnb, however, both Ahmed and Shaimaa were quick to put my mind at ease. Furthermore, Shaimaa disclosed she had studied at the University of Alexandria, and this is accurately reflected by her vast knowledge on what was included in our tour. If you want to visit Alexandria, please please PLEASE consider.
Honestly, speaking, it was an average tour. Our Tour Guide was very knowledgeable, however; I just didn’t feel like it was an over the top tour. The driver who picked us up in Cairo was very nice, but we had a language barrier. We didn’t meet with our Guide until we reached Alexandria. Both of them were very nice. I’ve been on a lot of tours all around the world, and I’d have to say I don’t know if I would spend this money on this tour again. We did hit the highlights of history in Alexandria. I don’t really think there would’ve been much more to see.
We have just had a fantastic day tour of Alexandria, Egypt, through Narmer agency. The travel from Cairo to and fro went without a hitch with a great driver, Ahmed. Our guide, Shaimaa, was excellent. She gave very interesting information in an easy to digest and friendly manner. The catacombs and library were outstanding highlights as was the included meal. Thoroughly recommendable. It lasted 11 hours with no serious traffic hiccups, all inclusive except drinks.
Long drive but worth the experience. Shaimaa knows her history and all about Alexandria. Some times a little hard to track due to all the other noise. Very friendly and professional
Its only cover 5 places, and i get public group with other people instead of private group. Place of choice to visit should let tourist decide.
The family visited Alexandria and had a wonderful day with Shaima our tour guide. She is from Alexandria and is knowledgable. She took us to all the unique sights in Alexandria like catacombs, Alexandria library ( impressive place), the arena and pharaoh island. She gave us information and time to see the place for ourselves. She is kind, patient and ensured the family had a fun day. At the end of the day she took us for lunch at a lovely restaurant by the sea side and we had a delicious lunch
Naelah was an excellent tour guide. Her knowledge is very extensive in Egyptian history and Alexandria. She gave lots of background for every site we went to. The Catacombs were amazing, the citadel, the Roman amphitheater, the Mosque and library were highlights of Alexandria we will never forgot. Our drive was amazing to getting us to Alexandria from Cairo and back again.
We had an amazing time exploring Alexandria with our guide, Shaimaa! She was nothing but kind to us and very informative. We were with her for several hours and all of it was a pleasure. This is best for family, friends, or tour groups looking to take a day trip from Cairo to Alexandria. Wouldn’t do it any other way!
Lovely day visiting the ancient sites of Alexandria . Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out the mixture of Egyptian , Greek and Roman influences in the Catacombs . Visits to a Roman theatre, a church a mosque and the citadel and the amazing library were all packed in to one day . Finishing with a meal in a great sea food restaurant overlooking the harbour.
The inclusive private tour was perfect -- we didn't waste time getting tickets/access as our Narmer tour took care of it. While the trip from Cairo is long, the day in Alexandria was well worth it. We got to see all the sites -- catacombs, fort, coptic church/mosque, roman ruins, library -- with both superb guide highlights and historical context as well as to enjoy on our own. Our guide, Shaimaa, was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. The Egyptian seafood meal was excellent.
Excellent experience on the Cairo to Alexandria tour. Everything was very well organized from the start. The driver was very professional and made the trip feel safe and comfortable, and the guide was amazing—very knowledgeable and engaging. The whole day was smooth, well-paced, and really enjoyable. Highly recommended
Long drive, but we felt it was worth it to see the highlights of Alexandria. The driver played the Quran out loud in the car for the entire round trip drive, which made it difficult to hear the guide speaking in between stops. We were hesitant to say anything for fear of coming off disrespectful or insensitive to the local culture and religion. Aside from our experience in the car, the tour was as described. Our guide gave us a walkthrough at each of the sites we visited and then gave us some free time to explore on our own, which we appreciated. We were a bit skeptical about going to a restaurant called the Fish Market for lunch, but the food was decent, the views were great, and the location is a restaurant despite the name.
Had a great time spending a few hours touring around Alexandria and learning about its history from our great guide. Would recommend!
I had a great experience in the day trip Alexandria tour with Shaimaa as my guide. She was very attentive with the tour needs, and we had a special request to have a special Alexandria dessert. Shaimaa went out of her way to find a place. I would strongly recommend this tour.
It was a very nice day. Shaimaa was a very knowledgeable guide and kind. All sites one the list were done. I especially liked the catacombs and citadel more than expected. The site for lunch had a nice view of the Mediterranean. It is a long day with about 2.5 to 3 hours of driving both directions. A little had to get it all done during Ramadan but we did. The driver did a good job but was on his phone more on the drive home than I would have preferred. Overall a nice day.
Our guide and driver were both very good. Comfortable trip to/from Alexandria and having a driver and car made visiting the sites easy and efficient.
Shaimaa was an excellent tour guide, we highly recommend! Very informative and knowledgeable. Ancient Roman Catacombs and fortress were amazing. Library of Alexandria was also very beautiful. Couldn't enter St. Mark church due to mass. Tour was also cut short because of Ramadan and needing to be back to Cairo before sundown. Long 3 hour ride, but well-worth it to see the best that Alexandria has to offer. **note that official-looking people at the fortress may show you something then ask for a tip**
Shaimaa was a great tour guide. Very informative and knowledgeable about her hometown, Alexandria. Would highly recommend!
I had a wonderful experience learning about Alexandria with my wonderful tour guide Aalaa! She has great knowledge of each site we visited and she was very accommodating to special request. 10/10! I highly recommend this tour group
The tour was wonderful. Naelah took us to all the important sites and gave superb information all day. Her depth of knowledge and ability to put places and historical times into context was excellent. Naelah worked alongside our driver Abdul Aziz to ensure that we saw not only the ancient and recent developments but also part of the everyday, working city. Highly recommended.
Shimaa is a true professional, she was knowledgeable, patient and courteous. She explained sights and monuments very well.
The sites of Alexandria were fascinating and our guide was very informative. All needs were taking care of and driver was prompt and went above and beyond. The tour itself was well planned but crowded in some places but it’s a popular site so cannot control that.
We enjoyed most of the sites and the Driver was excellent! However, the tour guide could have been better. She was more concerned about herself than us.
We had an amazing guided trip to Alexandria, and having transportation included made the entire experience completely stress-free. From pickup to drop-off, everything was seamless and well-organized. Our guide, Shaimaa, was incredibly knowledgeable and brought Alexandria’s rich history to life… from the Catacombs to the Citadel of Qaitbay. She shared fascinating stories while still giving us time to explore and take photos. The transportation facilitated by our amazing driver Emille, was comfortable, air-conditioned, and punctual, which made a huge difference, especially after a full day of sightseeing. Overall, it was the perfect balance of history, culture, and relaxation. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience Alexandria without worrying about logistics!
I took this tour as an all-inclusive package, and I really liked the approach. It's important to understand that you’re paying for your time here. It’s similar to buying business class plane tickets — in reality, you’re paying for the extra space around you (because often, the food is almost the same as in Premium Economy). In this tour, you're paying to save time. Plus, you see everything that’s important to see in Alexandria. Don’t forget, it takes about three hours to get there and back from Cairo. By the time you arrive, you’re already exhausted. I can’t imagine navigating Alexandria without a private car and guide. My guide, Ella, was excellent — very knowledgeable and made everything easy to understand. My driver, Ahmed, was also great — always on time, and I felt completely safe with him behind the wheel. If you’re a female traveler, especially from the West, a private guide and trusted driver are essential for both safety and peace of mind. The driver was ready at 6:55 AM, I was ready at 7:05 AM, and our agreed-upon time was 7 AM. Looks like I’m always a bit late here in Cairo! I’ve been in Cairo for three days now: one full of work, another for the all-inclusive pyramids, Sphinx, etc., and this is the third. Tomorrow I leave, and the day I took this excursion was February 9th. Alexandria is a city rich in history — from the ancient Library of Alexandria to the impressive Citadel and the catacombs, there’s so much to see. If you see time as money, then I highly recommend this tour. But if you’re someone who wants to hear long stories and spend extra time on things, then first, buy some history books and read them at home, or second, go to a safe city and spend time there on your own. If you're a Western person, especially female (like me), it’s crucial to be on a private tour with a trusted guide and driver when in Egypt. I really liked how everything was organized here, and it definitely made my experience much more enjoyable and stress-free. P.S. Ella took great photos of me, and we even had some fantastic selfies, but I’ll be keeping those for myself and my loved ones. Believe me, she is a truly kind and wonderful person. At the start of the tour, she’ll ask you what you want to see, and then everything will be smoothly organized from there. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention — I had an amazing lunch of chicken, rice, and soup. It was perfect! The food reminded me of my mom’s cooking, with lots of spices and a very homemade feel.
We did an all-day tour of Alexandria with our guide, Shaimaa, and she was absolutely incredible. Kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable… she made the entire day feel effortless and fun. She showed us so much of the city, shared great stories and history, and made everything feel personal and authentic. I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.
Wow what a lovely experience it was a trip to remember. Special thanks to Shaimaa our guide who was so knowledgeable and happy to help.
Excellent tour , from start hotel pick up to finish. Everything is perfect. Shaimaa was an amazing Egyptologist guide, very knowledgeable, personable, and I learnt an amazing amount. Very interesting day trip, lots of time at each location excellent driver . thank you so much to you all. Great value and I thoroughly recommend this trip.
It was a wonderful experience. I am very glad that I went. I recommend to any future travelers that they make time for a trip to Alexandria. Our guide, Shaimaa, was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Excellent day trip from Cairo. I feel I saw all the main sights of Alexandria and not in a rushed time frame. The driver picked me up on time. Abdelaziz is his name and he was an excellent driver for the day. He didn’t speak much English but was super friendly and we were able to communicate. We stopped along the desert express road for a coffee and snack. Once in Alexandria we met with the tour guide Shaiima Gaber. Shaimaa is amazing. Her knowledge of Alexandria history is massive. We started at the catacombs (which was my favorite place for the day) and did an extensive tour and discussion Then to the Roman theater, St Marks Coptic church, and then the famous Alexandria Library. All were interesting and Shaimaa gave a thorough review of the significance of each place and its history. Then a delicious lunch at Branzino for fish and mezze. Next was the Qaitbay Citadel which is rebuilt but on the land that the original lighthouse was built. Finally we visited the famous mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi So a full day and all the main important sights made this a great tour. When I am back I will request Shaimaa and Abdelaziz for my tours. Shukkran!! It was perfect.
