Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), is a fascinating and overwhelming place. Our tour guide, Abdul, an Egyptologist, navigated us thru the many interesting exhibits while giving us an ingoing narrative of the meanings and histories of each. Abdul made sure we saw the most interesting exhibits, Tuts mask, the boats. Afterward Abdul took us to an enchanting local restaurant for a relaxing lunch. Also kudos to our wonderful driver Mohammed, who got us safely and timely to our destinations. Overall a very fun and adventurous day and a great look at Egypt’s rich heritage and history.

It was my last day in Cairo so I decided to treat myself to a guided tour through the Great Egyptian Museum. Thanks to my wonderful guide Ahmed, I experienced a great informative morning viewing the Artworks from an amazing culture. Items from Tutenkhamen’s Tomb and the huge wooden boat designed to carry the deceased Pharaoh to his ‘Afterlife’ were of particular note. The added bonus was the pick up and drop off at my hotel which was some distance away.

My husband and I booked a private tour guide to the Great Egyptian Museum. Our guide was called Omran, he introduced himself, through WhatsApp, gave us clear details of the following day’s itinerary. Omran is an Egyptologist and a licensed Tour Guide, spoke very good English and had a great sense of humour and made the guided tour interesting and exciting. We saw king Khufu’s 4,500 year boat in the separate boat museum. The size of the museum is incredible, the entrance hall leading to the grand staircase is a 6 story vertical gallery that connects the main entrance to the upper exhibition galleries. Omran took us through the galleries in chronological order, there’s so much to see, Omran showed us the highlights of the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms. The whole experience is completely mind blowing! The Tutankhamen gallery was the ‘icing on the cake’ with over 5,000 artefacts. Last year we were fortunate enough to visit the Valley of the kings, it was incredible to see all the artefacts that were taken from the tomb. Omran gave us an incredible morning in the GEM, memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Thank you ….

Excellent experience today at the GEM museum with Ashraf. We did the tour in Spanish and It was amazing to have an archeologist with us explaining everything, from how to read the cartouches to how did they found everything. We stay in the museum around 4 hrs and he even gave us a coffee break cause we were really tired. Ashraf was really incredible as a guide. The transportation was also super good and extremely comfortable. I really really recommend this tour for all my fellow Spanish speakers

This is one not to be missed what a museum. After pickup we arrived and meet with our guide Orman. We started this tour as the museum opened it was lovely to be one of the 1st in, from the outside the building is impressive when you enter it is more impressive. Orman was a fantastic guide he explained and showed us lots he kept us interested by not giving too much information and we had free time to wander, If you are a real Egyptologist you will need more then a few hours We felt a guide was the right thing so as to touch the right amount of information

My guide was Osama. He was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I really enjoyed the experience at the GEM. Osama answered all my questions, shared so much information and knew the history of all the exhibits we visited. What an amazing experience! Our tour guide was Ahmed Halel and he was awesome super friendly, helpful and went above and beyond took us to extra stops to have a look at some local shops and even stopped at a bakery and grabbed us breakfast and bought us lots of water bottles. This museum is amazing, the building is as impressive as all the exhibitions. Our guide Omran is so knowledgeable both on the history and on the museum and therefore took us to the important and interesting. It really is too big to take everything in in one trip.

Best guide ever! Mina is brilliant, funny, knowledgeable, and an incredible storyteller. He made our private guided tour of the GEM an unforgettable experience. Mina was a great tour guide, very professional and courteous. He knows a lot about ancient Egypt as he is a junior professor of Egyptian History. The museum itself is an incredible place. The design is phenomenal - designed by an Irish architect, as Mina was able to inform us - and the items inside are absolutely amazing. You cannot come to Egypt and miss this must see visitor attraction. There is a walkway being built to join the Great pyramids of Giza to the Grand Egyptian Museum, which will mean that visiting them will be even easier. It’s very safe, and secure, with police around to ensure everything is safe. An amazing trip.

Our private tour was excellent. A really good balance, not bobmarded with dates and shown carefully selected pieces as you can’t see them all!

The museum is an absolute must see! Our guide Mina was incredibly knowledgable and passionate about the subject, and friendly. We were travelling with children so he also made sure to focus on the more interesting parts to ensure they did not get too restless. Communication with Waleed ahead of the tour was also very good and also happy to accommodate some additions to the tour for an extra cost. Only thing that wasn’t clear is that we hadn’t selected an option that included tickets but I think that’s a Viator issue as I have found it often doesn’t explicitly tell you what you have booked exactly. Would definitely recommend the tour with this company!

I recently visited Cairo n I happen to see waleeds number on one of my groups n decided to contact him for the pyramids n grand museum tour. I am so glad I chose his company for the tour as they were so professional from the beginning. Waleed himself is such a nice person n gave me the different options for the tours. The tour guide msgd me the night before her name is Reham shawky to tel me pick up time n sent me drivers name n picture of the car which helped wen he arrived to fetch us and was on time. We then met Reham n went through to the pyramids. Reham was excellent n also so good wit my daughter who kept on asking her questions about the pyramids. Overall we had a good day visiting both the pyramids n grand museum. We also used his service for transfer to the airport and the car was big n clean n the driver was actually early for the transfer. I am glad I chose waleeds company for the tour so anyone goin to Egypt be sure to use waleeds company u won’t go wrong as he does not only do tours but also transfers to Airport and I’m sure he offers more services.

We had 2 days with the guides namely Omran on the first day and Meena Saeed on the second and both were absolutely friendly, kind , obliging and most importantly knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed . They communicated with us throughout the process and were punctual . Also our driver Nabeel was very helpful. All in all they get 5 🌟

Mohamed Doma was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and personable, and he explained things in a clear and concise way so we could all follow what he was saying, including our 13 yo & 10 yo children. We also got additional tidbits of information about Egyptian culture. He was lighthearted and fun as well! He made sure we had time to do everything we wanted safely and without rushing. He was helpful and will treat you like habibi. We highly recommend him as a guide!

Taha was our guide for two days in Cairo. Day one was Pyramid Day - where we went to Giza and Saqqara. If you have the time, I highly recommend this tour. It was great to see both Pyramid plateaus. On day two, we went to the Grand Egyptian Museum- and it is indeed GRAND. Our guide, Taha, was great. He is extremely knowledgeable about all things Egypt. We were a small group and he gave us the time and flexibility to see what was important to us, while guiding us to the best spots and places of interest.
