Amr Moses messaged us the day before our tour and suggested an earlier start which we were happy to accommodate. The tour also was exceptional from start to finish the experience we had was worth every penny and Moses was very knowledgeable and passionate about the museum and the contents within in. The driver Muhammad was also great at navigating around Cairo. The cost of the tour was well worth it and included the admission fee to the museum and lunch as well with a view over the pyramids which made it extra special. The tour was supposed to last 3-4 hours which actually had worried me but we actually had nearly 7 hours in total which was a great length for the tour. As for the GEM itself, words cannot do it justice but it was a truly amazing experience and to see things I had only ever read about or seen on tv with our own eyes was just amazing. Can’t recommend Moses and the travel agency, ETD, enough as they made a great start to our Cairo holiday.

If you’re planning a trip to Egypt, I cannot recommend Mina highly enough. From the moment we met him, he treated us like family. By the end of our trip, I truly felt like I had gained a new brother in Egypt. Mina went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. He took us to incredible local spots that we never would have found on our own, gave us an authentic look at Egyptian culture, and always made us feel completely safe and well cared for. His English is exceptional, making communication effortless, and his knowledge of Egypt; its history, culture, and hidden gems—is second to none. Every question we had was answered with passion and insight. This trip exceeded all of my expectations because of Mina. I will absolutely be returning to Egypt, and there is no question that I will book with Mina every single time. Thank you for making our journey so special. You truly have family in the United States now!
We had such an amazing tour of the pyramids, Sphinx and surrounding area. Mina Sobhy was a fantastic guide and made sure we felt safe, picked us up right from the hotel, was very knowledgeable and kind. 10/10 recommend booking with him.
We had an amazing experience exploring the Pyramids of Giza and discovering the beauty and history of Egypt with our wonderful tour guide, Mina Sobhy! 🇪🇬✨ Mina was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and passionate about sharing Egypt’s rich history and culture. He made the entire experience enjoyable, memorable, and truly special. His explanations brought the ancient wonders to life, and he made sure we felt comfortable and had plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sights and take pictures. If you’re planning a trip to Egypt and want an unforgettable experience, I highly recommend Mina Sobhy! He truly made our visit to the pyramids a highlight of our trip. Thank you, Mina, for such a fantastic tour and beautiful memories!
Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by Mina sobhy , Mina sobhy as a tour guide was extremely good, friendly, respectful, very flexible (appreciate this) and for that he deserves a special thanks. I had a great day at Giza and I loved seeing the pyramids, sphinx and the entire area plus the great food and shopping afterwards!! which obviously also added up to the experience. Mina sobhy has such a warm personality and he is a highly motivated guide (recommendable!). The atmosphere at the pyramids was mind blowing everything felt so special. Mina sobhy did a great job explaining the history and stories behind these greatness of the ancient civilizations; a true sample of excellent tour guide! Many thanks again and I recommend Mina sobhy to everyone!
Our Guide, Mina Wasfy was so knowledgeable and friendly. Would throughly recommend!
I was extremely disappointed with my experience on this tour in Egypt, primarily due to the conduct and lack of professionalism of the tour guide, Mina Sobhy. I visited Egypt because I wanted to deepen my knowledge and understanding of Egyptian history and culture, which I learnt a lot about at school. When visiting such historically significant sites as the Giza Pyramids and the museum, I expected a knowledgeable guide who would welcome questions, explain the historical significance of the monuments, and help bring Egypt’s extraordinary heritage to life. Unfortunately, this was far from my experience. Mina was unhelpful, antagonistic, and unwelcoming whenever questions were asked. Rather than answering questions in an informative and respectful manner, he would often respond with a sarcastic and condescending tone. This made asking questions an uncomfortable experience and completely undermined the educational purpose of the tour. A professional tour guide should encourage curiosity, share their knowledge enthusiastically, and make visitors feel comfortable asking questions. Sadly, Mina did the opposite. Another disappointing aspect of the tour was being taken to a shop where I purchased fridge magnets for 550 Egyptian pounds. I believe this was significantly overpriced, as I would have expected similar items to cost approximately 150–200 Egyptian pounds. I was particularly disappointed that this shop was recommended as part of the tour, as I expected better judgement and consideration for visitors. What made the experience even worse was the subsequent conduct after the tour. Mina sent me a WhatsApp message recommending that I revoke my negative review, despite the fact that my review honestly reflected my experience. I found this highly unprofessional. Rather than acknowledging the feedback or reflecting on how the experience could be improved, the attempt to persuade me to withdraw my review left an even more negative impression. Overall, this tour fell well below my expectations. The lack of professionalism, the sarcastic and condescending responses to questions, and the disappointing shopping experience detracted significantly from what should have been an informative and memorable visit to Egypt. I would not recommend this tour guide to anyone whose priority is learning about Egyptian history and culture in a welcoming, respectful, and professional environment. Visitors deserve a guide who is knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely interested in sharing Egypt’s remarkable heritage, not one who makes them feel uncomfortable for asking questions.
Absolutely awful tour - do not recommend and avoid. The tour is very rushed and we didn’t even get to walk past the Sphinx or enter a pyramid. I came to your country to learn about ancient Egypt. Our guide, Mina Sobhy was very sarcastic, condescending and insulting when asked questions, which he clearly didn’t welcome and he was hostile; he was unprofessional and rude. Mina Sobhy then proactively recommended taking us to a Bazar where I was heavily overcharged 550 Egyptian Pounds for two fridge magnets, which would cost no more than 150 Egyptian pounds. When I submitted an honest, open and candid review Mina Sobhy then had the audacity to message me and insist I amend it - he clearly has absolutely no insight into how arrogant, rude, obnoxious and unprofessional he is. I do not recommend this tour.
The GEM is absolutely massive, so we opted for a guide rather than our usual choice of an audio tour — and what a stroke of luck it was to have Manar! Highly qualified in history and related subjects, Manar has an incredible depth and breadth of knowledge. She brought the museum and its treasures to life, and was able to answer all of my husband’s many questions — no small feat! She was also a genuinely lovely person to spend a few hours with, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. For lunch there were options to suit all tastes. A quick shout-out too, to Abdo, who drove us around safely and kept us well supplied with bottled water throughout the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend both Manar and Abdo.
The GEM is beautiful, don't miss it. Our guide Moses was really good, he took great care of us. He gave us freedom on the tour and gave us great advises.
What a wonderful experience we had with Kyrllos and Mahmoud today! We wanted to see the Saqqara pyramids, the GEM and NMEC and Kyrllos made it all possible! He is a very knowledgeable Egyptologist, with vast information that made everything more educational and interesting all at the same time! We couldn't ask for a better guide than Kyrllos. Mahmoud was such a gentleman, always patiently waiting and opening doors for us, making sure we get to our destination safely and comfortably. Thanks so much for showing us what we've only thought of seeing only in our dreams!
GEM as the name says it was a Gem. After walking through historic places in Hobson, this was a perfect ending, indoor and conclusive of what we saw. Our guide Maniar was in time. We arrived at the museum 15 minutes before it opened. She pointed out structural and architectural details of historic significance before going inside. Loved King Tut galleries. The best for us was the solar boat exhibit. Over all educational tour. I would recommend her.
We were picked up on time and we reached GEM gate before they opened. Museum being so big having a guide helped.
My friends and I had a very wonderful experience touring The Grand Egyptian museum. Yasmeen, our tour guide was so awesome. She’ very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. She let us go in our pace but still able to explain everything. She also took a lot of pictures for us. She’s an excellent asset to the company. A big thanks too also to the driver who was very patient and helpful (I’m sorry, I forgot the name). We’d highly recommend both of them.
Our visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum was made truly exceptional by our guide, Kyrllos. His expertise and knowledge were second to none. He didn’t simply walk us around the exhibits and tell us what we were looking at — he brought the incredible history of ancient Egypt to life, providing context and helping us understand the significance of what we were seeing. His route through the museum was thoughtfully planned and perfectly structured, allowing us to build a clear understanding of the different dynasties and how Egypt’s extraordinary history developed over thousands of years. No matter how many questions we threw at him, Kyrllos was always able to provide a knowledgeable and fascinating answer. Beyond his expertise, Kyrllos was incredibly personable, friendly and great company throughout the entire tour. His enthusiasm was infectious and made what could have simply been a museum visit into a genuinely memorable experience. We would thoroughly recommend Kyrllos to anyone visiting Egypt. He is exactly the kind of guide you hope to have when exploring somewhere with such an incredible history. And if we ever make it to Luxor, we will absolutely be asking for Kyrllos to be our guide again! Thank you, Kyrllos, for helping make our visit so special. Highly recommended!
Kyrolls eskander was very polite very unformative and pleasant. His good nature made the experience even more interesting to learn about the history and culture of Egypt. I would defo recommend him To others.
We did the GEM with Ayoub and it was so nice, he was very knowledgeable and just fun to be around! The place was huge so it was nice to have Ayoub around to show us everything and the cost was definitely worth it! Would definitely use his again to visit as the place is so huge! :)
Fantastic trip to see the spectacular Grand Egyptian Museum and learn about its treasures. Thoroughly enjoyable and informative. An absolute must do, our guide Moses was very knowledgeable and went at just the pace for us.
very knowledgeable guide with exceptional kindness and fun...
Hi, our trip to Museum was great. Our tour guide Ayoub Fayez explained about everything in the museum that gave us highlight of a lot of history and culture. Our tour guide made sure that all the process went smooth and easy for us throughout the museum trip. We learnt a lot about big Ramses, history, mummies and a lot of stuff.
Ayoub is the best tour guide I have ever had, if you want something he will get it for you and he explains everything you need to know to have the perfect trip in Egypt
Our tour guide Ayoub was truly amazing with all that he showed us during our exploration of Cairo. He is a such a kind and friendly person and very knowledgeable of his country/city. He told us so much history of the city of Cairo and Giza and it was fascinating to hear all of the facts about Egypt. Exploring the museums and the pyramids was a once in a lifetime experience and Ayoub truly made it so much fun and it was nice to meet all of his local friends. It's nice to have a tour guide who makes the experience fun and interactive. Overall, I would recommend anyone to tour the beautiful cities with Ayoub and will book again once I return back to Egypt.
This tour was everything o could hope for and more. Kryllos was absolutely absolutely amazing. He has so much information to provide to us as we explored the massive museum. Conversation was intriguing and he takes the best photos. Absolutely amazing!
The Grand Egyptian Museum is a sight to see!!! My guide, Kyrllos Eskandar was absolutely amazing! He was attentive, kind, and very informative from beginning to end. Navigating thru the museum was a cake walk with Kyrllos. He was extremely knowledgeable and made learning about ancient Egyptian History so much fun and interesting. He loves the job that he does, and it just made my experience that much better! 10/10 Recommend Kyrllos.
Mina Wasfy was our tour guide for the Grand Egyptian Museum. It was a very interesting and enjoyable tour. The GEM is amazing! And Mina made the experience great. He is very knowledgeable, kind and patient. He is the perfect guide for anyone including families like ours.
Our visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, especially the King Tut Gallery, was unforgettable. Mina was an outstanding guide, knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about Egypt’s history. He explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and shared fascinating details that made the exhibits come to life. His enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour, and if you have the chance, ask for Mina as your guide!
Mina is an excellent tour guide. This is our second time using him. He took us thru the Grand Egyptian Museum. Mina is incredibly knowledgeable, polite and he taught me so much about Ancient Egypt!
I had a wonderful trip to Egypt and throughly enjoyed the tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum. Mina was so kind and knowledgeable, and I learned so much incredible history! As someone who has taken multiple tours in Egypt this is hands down the best one!!
My visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum with Egypt Tours Destinations was absolutely unforgettable! Mina was an outstanding guide—his passion for Egypt’s history brought the artifacts to life. The museum tour was so well-organized, and every detail was taken care of. If you’re visiting Egypt, this is a must-do experience—5 stars all the way!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Grand Egyptian Museum with Ayoub as our tour guide. We learned so much about Egypt’s history and the various artifacts that archaeologists have discovered. Ayoub carefully explained to us how to interpret the hieroglyphs and gave us incredible insights into the dynasties and timelines. The King Tut artifacts were a major highlight and were beautiful and exquisite. We grabbed lunch with Ayoub in Coptic Cairo and saw many beautiful churches including St. Sergio’s and St. Bacchus, the site where the Holy Family stayed for three months. We definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Egypt!!
Ayoub was an amazing tour guide! His attention to detail, deep knowledge of Egyptian history, and passion for sharing it made the experience unforgettable. He was professional, friendly, and always willing to answer questions. Thanks to him, my very first day in Egypt was incredible and exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend Ayoub to anyone looking for an informative and enjoyable tour. Thank you for making my first day in Egypt so special!
We had an absolutely fantastic tour with Kyrllos. His knowledge was outstanding, and he brought everything to life in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. Beyond being an excellent guide, he was a genuinely lovely person with a great sense of humour, which made the experience even more enjoyable. If we had more time in, we would happily book all of our tours with Kyrllos. We couldn’t recommend him more highly!
Ayoub was amazing! He picked us up from our hotel, gave us water and was so easygoing! He took us all around the pyramids and the Sphinx, was able to give us the history behind everything. Highly recommend!! He also took amazing photos and videos for us!
Mina certainly knows about his subjects. At all times answering any queries. He made the visit to the pyramids, Egyption museum,Saqqara and the other visits most enjoyable. We were left with enough time to explore by ourselves which was good.
Mina was very communicative and allowed us to ask questions on every section of the museum. He was so passionate and you can tell he truly enjoys his job. We had previously communicated our desires of the tour, and he more than exceeded our expectations. (We went on Saturday since the hours are extended, and were pleasantly surprised at how the museum felt as if it were cleared out just for us!) I feel as though Mina was super thoughtful in how he took us through the GEM, and that he really captured the true essence of what this museum encompasses. The buildup to see the Tut Museum last was very well planned! I’ve would highly recommend this tour along with Mina! I truly cannot thank him enough for our experience. I searched many companies, and am so glad I ended up choosing this one and getting Mina. Service, pickup, knowledge of the Egyptologist, food and overall experience were 10/10! Thank you again, Mina! Such a memorable experience!
Sayed Mahmoud we had a great guide and a lovely day really enjoyed it
Was great to finally see the pyramids of giza and the sphinx on day one and Mina was very knowledgeable. Grand museum was amazing. Day 2, going to Saqqara and Memphis was quite disappointing. Not much to see.
Amr Moses was an outstanding tour guide and made our visit to the GEM Museum in Giza truly unforgettable. From the moment he arrived, he was punctual, professional, and incredibly welcoming. Traveling with my sisters, we felt completely at ease thanks to how attentive and caring he was throughout the entire day. His knowledge of the museum and Egyptian history was impressive—he explained everything in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. What really set him apart was his personality: he was funny, warm, and knew exactly how to keep the tour enjoyable without ever feeling rushed. He took his time with us, making sure we experienced everything fully and had all our questions answered. If you’re looking for a guide who is reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about your experience, I highly recommend Amr Moses. He went above and beyond to make our day special! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The GEM museum is a must-do if visiting Cairo. It is a spectacular building and it is possible to spend many days looking at all the artifacts. We spent about 3-4 hours and that was not enough. You need at least 1-1.5 hours for the King Tut gallery, 30 minutes for the solar boats, 30 minutes for the hanging obelisk and grand hall. We spent 60 minutes walking through all the other galleries - that was enough time to see 1-2 items of interest in each of the 10 or so galleries. We were a family of 6 with 2 children and 2 grandparents. My hope was that the tour guide would provide a detailed commentary on some of the most interesting artifacts in the museum. Unfortunately, the tour felt rushed - our guide would begin talking about something before we even gathered in front of her. While there is a lot to cover, I think it would have been better to see fewer things and spend more time learning about those artifacts. The most disappointing part was that she did not accompany us to the King Tut gallery - this was by far the most interesting and where we had the most questions. Instead she spent 1.5 hours having a coffee while waiting for us. After the King Tut gallery we were told to visit the solar boats on our own. I had to request her to join us which she did begrudgingly. The museum is truly amazing. It is very easy to buy tickets online rather than rely on the tour company. I also dont advise picking the lunch included option. There are many places to eat in the museum if you choose to take a break.
I can’t say enough great things about Khalefa. He is truly one of the best guides I’ve ever had. From start to finish, he made the entire experience seamless, engaging, and unforgettable. His knowledge of Egyptian history is incredible, but what really sets him apart is how he brings everything to life with passion, storytelling, and genuine enthusiasm. Khalefa is just a fantastic person to spend the day with—friendly, professional, and clearly dedicated to making sure his new friends have an amazing experience. If you have the chance to tour with him, take it. It will absolutely elevate your trip. Highly, highly recommend.
The GEM museum is phenomenal and a must-do when visiting Cairo. We booked a private tour for our family of 6 which included 2 children. My hope was to learn as much about the artifacts as possible with a "guided tour of the galleries in the museum". Our guide was knowledgeable but everything was very rushed. She would often start speaking about an artifact long before my parents or kids could catch up. The biggest disappointment was that she left us to see the King Tut galleries by ourselves while she took a coffee break. The whole point of this tour was to have an expert explain the King Tut gallery to us. Otherwise, I would have just read everything online and then visited the gallery. At the end she also expected us to see the solar boats ourselves - I had to ask her to join us which she did in a disgruntled way. This tour is a once in a lifetime opportunity and could have been so much better.
If you have to visit the museum, you definitely need a guide as there is a lot to see. Our guide, Ayoub, made the museum experience breathtaking and educational. I highly recommend them. The coptic church, old cairo and sailing on the nile in the evening was a good touch to end the day
Kerol was excellent guide, knowledgeable and willing to explain everything. Really good. welldone
Very insightful experience. Yasmeen was so patient and so knowledgeable. The GEM was awesome. Had a traditional lunch and shopped at a perfume shop. I would recommend her to anyone interested in a great experience.
A great way to see an incredible museum! Kyrllos was an amazing guide, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history. We had a private tour, so were able to move at our own pace and ask many questions. His easy demeanor and fluent English made for an enjoyable day. Great communication throughout ensured a stress free experience.
Excellent experience! Ahmed was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable and patient, he was an invaluable addition to our tour. The museum itself was absolutely amazing and vast, with some incredible exhibits. Would highly recommend the visit and Ahmed would be a great addition to your trip too!
Kyrllos was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodative, and provided a great tour experience. The lunch following the tour was very good. The pick ups and drop offs were on time. There was consistent communication throughout. I highly recommend this tour and Kyrllos.
I’ve always been fascinated by Egypt, but I was also a bit hesitant to visit because of the mixed advice and warnings I’d heard about traveling there. On top of that, I felt overwhelmed trying to decide which of the many incredible sites were truly must-sees. Thankfully, my sister recommended Ayoub, who had been her tour guide a few years ago—and I’m so grateful she did. From the start, Ayoub was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly reliable. He went above and beyond to make our trip as comfortable and personalized as possible, whether that meant making an extra stop at a coffee shop or helping us find a pharmacy when needed. What really stood out was his deep knowledge of Egyptian history, which made a huge difference when visiting archaeological and historical sites. He didn’t just guide us—he brought each site to life with context and stories that we would have otherwise missed. As a private guide, he clearly takes great pride in representing his country, and he thoughtfully planned our entire itinerary for us. The result was a seamless, stress-free experience where all we had to do was enjoy the journey. While some people caution against traveling to Egypt, I would say that, as with any international trip, it’s important to stay aware—but having a trusted local guide like Ayoub makes all the difference. We felt safe, well taken care of, and never once bothered. He speaks excellent English, is highly educated, and genuinely cares about his clients’ experiences. Ayoub also ensures that his pricing is affordable for ALL the services he provides. The way to have a wonderful experience in Egypt is to hire a TRUSTED private guide- and Ayoub is the perfect choice that won’t disappoint.
We had a fantastic first day in Cairo visiting the new museum. Everything was perfectly organised — we were picked up from our hotel on time, the museum was incredibly impressive, and the day flowed seamlessly with a nice lunch before returning to the hotel. After spending a few days in Cairo, I can’t recommend highly enough having a great local guide if you want to truly make the most of your time and stay relaxed at the same time. Ayoub, our guide (and the best driver), was exceptional. He made us feel comfortable from the start and shared his passion for Egyptian history in such an engaging way. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up doing two more trips with him — all of which were amazing. Ayoub, you truly are a local treasure. We loved how well-known you are — it felt like exploring Cairo with a celebrity! 😁 Thank you for your warmth, patience, and for sharing your culture with us. Highly recommended!
Our tour with Moses was spectacular. Best guide Ever and attended to our needs. Highly recommend to all.
