For all solo female travelers our there, this is the perfect tour! I was in Cairo for work but really wanted to see the pyramids and read sooo many mixed reviews about going alone. Finally, late at night I came across Bastet tours contact info online and messaged to ask if I could have a female tour guide. They were able to confirm one straight away and make the arrangements for my tour for 9am the next morning! So, definitely full stars for speed and efficiency! My tour guide was Hanan and driver Ibrahim, and they were both great! Hanan was especially amazing! Has great knowledge about the pyramids, the history, culture etc. It definitely helps having a guide with you, enriches the entire experience. And not to forget, she took the BEST pictures! I'm normally someone who will take a few pictures of myself and more of the site, but she made sure I got more pictures of myself too! Another important important thing. I was confused about going to Saqqara because I thought Giza pyramids would be enough and Saqqara would feel like duplication and not worth the effort. However, I did go! And i'm SO glad I did. You don't go to Saqqara just for the pyramid, the entire complex is worth exploring ESPECIALLY the ancient carvings. And its less than an hour from Giza pyramids. Plus the beautiful palm trees and fields on a bit of the way make the drive worth it. Bonus point: We stopped at a local store to buy a Cartouche (egyptian pendant) and the owner let me have a look at their workshop, BUT omg, the views of Giza pyramid from the workshop were spectacular! I wish I'd had a DSLR. A totally different view, not of sand and desert but of palm trees and greenery! Overall, I am SO glad I opted to go for this tour. Communication was in English and very clear, and Hanan just made the tour extra special and fun!

Hossam is an awesome guidance. Showed me everywhere I want to go. Also he is very knowledgeable and speaks good English. Took good pictures as well. Would recommend for first time comers, he will give you worry-free trips.

I can’t say enough good things about Hossam and our experience in Cairo! My mom and I were in the city for a wedding but wanted to do some site seeing as it was our first time in Egypt. We told Hossam a few of things that we wanted to see, leaving plenty of time for his recommendations and it was truly incredible. He brought us to many of the famous sites (Giza/Egyptian Museum/etc) and made the visits so enjoyable. Not only did he give you a history lesson and provide context for what it is that you were seeing, he chose the best of the sites to see to help us avoid crowds. Some of my favorite things, however, were the incredible stores he brought us to. We got to go to a rug school to learn how traditional Egyptian rugs are made, we went to a spice shop (my personal favorite), and so much more! Hossam did a great job of tailoring your experience to what you wanted. Many days we gave him a rough overview of what we wanted to see and he planned out a perfect itinerary. By the end of our stay in Cairo, Hossam truly felt like a friend! I can’t begin to recommend him enough. A guided experience through Cairo is truly the best way to see the sites. (For reference, when traveling, we typically don’t use a guide as we prefer to explore on our own. However, in Cairo, a guide is truly the way to go. Not only is the experience more enriching that way, you will find it to be more enjoyable as well)

This was a great tour! I highly recommend to everyone. Hossam was our guide and we loved the tour. We were able to see Sakkara, the Pyramids, Sphinx, go on a camel ride (costs extra), & see how rugs and papyrus paper are handmade. The lunch was also good.

We were pretty nervous to book with a tour guide because of the amount of those that do it out there, Fairmont recommended Hossam and I have to admit It was one of the best experiences of our life, Hossam was very professional and great on the tour. Answered all the questions we asked him with great answers, and recommended places that turned out to be nicer than what we have seen on the TV. He is very great to have conversations with on the Egyptian history. Totally recommend to do the pyramid of Giza, Saqqara, the Egyptian museum, and Luxor with him. Definitely Going to book with him again once I come to Egypt again.

Such a great experience to visit all these in one day, full explanation, full support in any step of that so well coordinated with time management. I am travelling all around the world and he was my best tour guide with great recommendations for food and shoppings.

I booked the tour from the 5 star Hotel that I was staying at. Hossam was very punctual and from the moment we met he was very well organized and had a wonderful smile and attitude that just put you at ease. He took the time to sit down with me to understand what interests me and what kind, if any time constrain I might have. He very patiently explain to me the cultural and historic importance of the places i was contemplating and from there he customize the itinerary base on my priorities. At the historic sites he was always on hand to shield me from any unwanted solicitation from the local vendors. He educated me on the merits of paying extra entry fees for some of the sites that may not hold much value, ie paying extra to work into an empty tomb room that just have 4 wall and a floor. His knowledge of Egyptian culture and history is impressive, and really help me understand and respect the enormity of the architectural marvel that we were visiting. I also had some off the beaten track request that he took the time and effort to assist me with obtaining it. I would definitely retain his service again directly and will without hesitation to anyone that is looking for a top notch guild! Norm

We had an AMAZING time with Hassem (our tour guide). We did a tour of the great pyramids one day and then liked him so much we signed on to do a tour of Saqqara with him the next day. He was really knowledgeable (masters degree in and spoke clear English.

My husband and I did a private tour. We absolutely loved our tour and ended up booking a second day with Hashem. He was so knowledgeable about history, and the entire day we were at saqqara we were going in tombs that tour groups were not going into so it felt like an exclusive experience and we were able to see original texts and artwork that others were missing! He also took us out for a local fruit breakfast and to try sugar cane juice :) another reason I appreciated having a guide is because a lot of vendors and guards can be pretty pushy asking for tips, and Hashem took care of that when appropriate so we didn’t get hassled. his tours were the best experiences on our trip!

this day it was day to remember the tour guide was on time at the hotel he met us with smile it was warm day but we enjoined a lot we want to saqqara we saw the oldest pyramid ever and them we went to carpet school we got like class how we cam make this hand made carpet the we did Memphis the oldest capital in Egypt maybe in world and we did at the end Giza pyramids and the great sphinx u have to ask to go to papyrus factory it was very good experience we learned a lot fun and history

Hossam is the most knowledgeable, personable, passionate, and hospitable guide we’ve ever experienced! The 4 of us (2 couples) spent 3 full days on private tours around Cairo, Giza, and Alexandria seeing the worlds treasures. He showed us exclusive areas in each place that only locals know and spent time explaining each in depth, which made the tours even more exciting. Also, Hossam is very well connected and ensured all of our needs were met through our time in Egypt. We flew to Luxor for the day and he set us up with his colleague Akhmed who gave us a similar experience. Being in the hospitality business myself, I would say Hossam is a true professional, the best in the world, and after spending several days with Hossam, we all consider Hossam a friend! This was just one of the three days of tours we did and ALL were amazing, super easy, safe and turn-key from tickets to transportation. Transportation vans were brand new, amazing AC and always there and chilly when it was time to move on, trust me this is very nice in the Egyptian summer. Our guide Hossam was top notch, very knowledgeable and even helped us see the things the bigger tours do not tell you about, was fantastic all around. He helped with non-tour things too with great dining, shopping and evening activities. A+ all around!

We had an awesome experience on our tour to the Pyramids in Cairo. Our guide Hossam was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about Egyptian History. We visited Pyramids, Sphinx etc and all the places were beautiful. Hussaim is a such a nice guy he guided us very well and gave us all the information. Hossam was the best guide you could imagine for Egyptian antiquities. He is competent and at the same time unobtrusive. He patiently explains everything you want to know.
