Wadi El-Hitan (Valley of the Whales) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Egypt’s Western Desert. It’s famous for 40-million-year-old whale fossils that show how whales evolved from land animals to sea creatures. Visitors can see complete skeletons and ancient sea life and enjoy the unique desert landscape.
Magic Lake is a scenic lake in Wadi El-Rayan, Fayoum. It's famous for changing colors with sunlight and is a popular spot for swimming, sandboarding, and enjoying desert views.
Wadi El-Rayan is a beautiful natural reserve in the Fayoum Desert, southwest of Cairo. It’s known for its two man-made lakes connected by Egypt’s only waterfalls, vast sand dunes, and Magic Lake, which changes color with the sunlight. The area also has natural sulfur springs and is home to rare wildlife like the slender-horned gazelle. It’s a favorite spot for sandboarding, swimming, camping, and eco-tourism.

We had a wonderful day on this desert safari and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Sandboarding was great fun, but the highlight for me was definitely the Valley of the Whales and its excellent museum. The vast desert landscape itself was absolutely impressive, and visiting the village afterwards added another memorable aspect to the day. Our guide was very friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.
What a great tour! It started with driving to El Fayoum. Then switching to a 4X4 vehicle to speed thru the desert. Going off road up, down and around sand dunes..thrilling and a bit frightening. The valley of the Whales is fantastic. There is a museum and then you can see whale fossils in place. Then you go to the magic lake and the waterfalls. The lunch was fantastic. We had grilled fish. Our guide, Ahmed was fantastic. He is an excellent photographer. He pointed out the best views

What an outstanding experience, I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly & easy to get along with. The driver was also friendly & drove well. The sites visited are stunning & the history fascinating. The 4x4 ride is a rush & the driver very skilled. One of us flopped massively at sandboarding (cough, me), but it was a fun addition to an amazing day. Lunch was at a local restaurant with the food presented to us on arrival, so there is no choice of what to have but it filled our stomachs. The restaurant had a lovely vibe & I recommend sitting inside. Water & snacks were provided for the journey as advertised We loved every second of the day & if you book to go I hope you will love it as much as we did

Our guide Abdul was fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. Abdul went above and beyond for us, detoured so we could get coffee, helped us find and tie head scarves and took some great photos and reels. Our desert driver was also great and the lunch meal was huge and delicious. Book with Abdul for an English speaking tour!

It was a great day with a bit of everything - scenic drive through the Western Desert and Fayoum "Oasis", sandboarding on the dunes, super interesting visit to the Valley of the Whales, 4x4 drive up the dunes to a scenic viewpoint over Wadi El Rayan, tasty lunch and good coffee with excellent company from our guide and driver - the two Ibrahims, and 4x4 driver Peter.
Our driver and tour guide Sahar are the best people in Egypt, professional and easy communicated. I wanted pics in certain places and they know exactly where is it, no trouble taking us around the dessert. Everything went smoothly. We had a good time
This trip was absolutely amazing! Sahar is an outstanding guide—professional, attentive, and genuinely client-oriented throughout the entire journey. She was incredibly helpful, always supportive of our needs, and guided us smoothly from start to finish. She also took us to excellent souvenir shops where we bought beautiful jewelry and papyrus paintings. We truly loved the experience. The oasis and sandboarding were the highlights of the trip, and crossing the sand dunes in a 4WD jeep was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! A must-do trip if you are in Cairo!

A unique, wonderful and different trip. The adventure in a 4x4 car is something beautiful and very enjoyable. It was the most important and happiest moment for me on the trip. When we went to the Wadi Al-Hitan Nature Reserve, it was very beautiful and the adventure itself was worth the visit. we visited el fayoum with this company mego tours we booked a tour quick responsed our guide ahmed and his driver pick up us on time after 2 .30 hrs we reached el fayoum and we changed the car to 4×4 car to start our safari tour we visited wadi hitan there we saw fossils , the we back to magic lake we saw the best view of the lake finally we saw the waterfalls of wadi el rayyan then we ate the delicious lunch and fresh

We had a free day in Cairo and after seeing the massing and noise that was there, we decided to visit the desert, although for Siwa we need more than a day, that is why we chose the oasis of Al-Fayum and it was a success.
