Fayoum Oasis Adventure 4wd Desert Safari With Traditional Lunch

Abdallah was an incredible guide with great knowledge. He was so accommodating and we felt at ease immediately. The trip was a great length and we never felt rushed or like anything was cut short. Being a private tour, it made it even more relaxed. Best for people who want a full desert experience with a relaxed atmosphere.

We had a great time. Starting with the pick up at our hotel by our driver Omar. The communication was easy and uncomplicated. Our guide Yemani was amazing. We took the time to explain about the history of the land and the different stations, gave us the possibilities to explore on our own and also he is a great photographer, if you need someone to take your picture. Wadi al Hatin is an absolute highlight for everyone interested in environmental and prehistoric history. The camp is beautiful and the food was simple but very tasty. All stops were great, 10/10, would reccomend. Is a must do!

The desert drive felt like an exciting adventure and was so much fun! I was also taken to a place where many shark fossils are scattered around. Then, we visited The Valley of the Whales. First, we went to the museum, where I learned that this area was once underwater, and we watched videos showing fossil excavations. I also saw many types of fossils that were discovered here. After that, I explored the actual whale fossils scattered in the desert. Some of them were enormous, and it was hard to imagine that this landscape was once a sea. I also enjoyed views of the Magic Lake, whose colors change depending on the sunlight, and visited Egypt’s only waterfall. The tour included a delicious meal as well. Later, I tried sandboarding, which was really fun. It was truly a full and exciting day. This incredible experience was made possible thanks to our guide, Yemani, and our driver, Amr. The tour in Fayoum gave me the best memories for our last day in Egypt.

We had the best time with our tour guide Eino! As tourists who don’t speak Arabic, it can be tricky to get around, but he made everything feel safe and easy. He took us to try local coffee, fresh cane juice, and then straight into the desert adventure — sand trucks, amazing cliff views with tea, a tasty lunch, and ending the day sandboarding. Such an unforgettable experience, highly recommend him!

Our trip to the Fayoum Oasis was an absolute highlight of our time in Egypt! Driving over the sand dunes was exhilarating — like a desert rollercoaster! Our guide Abdallah and the drivers made sure we were safe while still having a blast. The views from the top of the dunes were unreal. The unique rock formations and surreal landscape made it feel like we were on another planet. It was the perfect spot to stop, explore, and take stunning photos.

The valley of the whales will have sights unlike any other tour you will be taking in Egypt. The Valley of the Whales is a unique attraction that shows ancient creatures instead of ancient structures built by man. The desert was very interesting context to see how the archeological remains were discovered! Glad I went with Egypt Discovery Tours that helped to arrange everything from the car ride to the desert, to having a fun 4 x 4 driving experience, to seeing the lakes around and the tasty lunch! Hassan and Mohammed kept me at ease as a solo female traveller. Would recommend!

Really enjoyed my trip to the Eastern Safara of Egypt with Eino. My favourite part was the Offroad driving to the cliffs above Wadi El Rayan and the swim in the hidden lake behind. It was very hot in the summer but Eino and his team ensured we had no shortage of cold water.

My excursions with Abdul made the trip! He’s very knowledgeable and very easy going. No sales or pressure to do anything, he just wanted to make our dream trip a reality. Egyptian hospitality at its finest! We visited 2 museums, the pyramids on camels, and we did Fayium Oasis for sand boarding with him as well. He shot the best pictures, great angles and overall a nice person to be around. Also his English is very good so there was no struggling to understand when he was teaching us the history.

We discovered parts of the country that people don't usually get to see with education on the culture, it wasn't just a fun experience it was inviting & comfortable. I'm so grateful for this gentleman and his talent to capture a moment so this experience will live on with me forever. Book this man!

A good trip with my son well looked after by Eino. Driver arrived on time, common place to pick up the guide enroute which was not a problem. The Viator add said it was 1hr 30 from Cairo. We were staying at Nile Maadi which was closer to 2hr30 so a long drive. It’s a lot in the car. Especially for my 8yr old but we had a great time. My son loved Whale Valley and the local traditional food was really good. Thanks for a great day Eino

We had a fantastic trip to Al Fayoum! Though it was a long drive from our hotel in Giza, it was expected, and the journey was comfortable. The car was clean, well-maintained, and had all necessary safety features. Our driver was excellent and drove carefully. Our guide, Eino, was friendly and kept us informed throughout the day. The whale skeletons were absolutely fascinating, and the meal in a traditional Bedouin tent was delicious. The waterfalls were lovely, adding to the experience. Overall, a well-organized and memorable trip!

Good things: • The company was very good in communicating and made a short-notice trip possible. • The guide was very friendly, and his English was good enough to fluently communicate. Areas of imrovement: I think the most serious concern that downgraded my rating to only three stars was the safety aspect: on the 4WD part, the car was in horrible condition: no seatbelts, worn-out steering (it must have been damaged before or bent extremely, as the steering wheel was attached upside-down in order to drive straight). When we entered the car and expressed our concerns, we were told it was a short, low-speed ride. Having done similar desert experiences in other countries, we assumed this would be true. However, the driver ended ended up speeding for about 50% of the 2-hour tour, going as fast as 100 km/h on uneven ground with limited control of the vehicle. If we had known this, we would not have entered the car. Some other areas of improvement: The driver was not knowledgeable and seemed disinterested in the rich history and cultural importance of the area. In fact, we knew more than he did, despite only doing a bit of research beforehand. We did further research after the tour and wish we had known earlier what we know now—or had a guide who could have explained more than just, “There is a magic lake; you can take a picture.” Additionally, the guide was not very attentive. He was friendly, but having booked a private tour, we expected more engagement instead of him spending most of the time chatting with the driver while we sat silently in the back seats. There was also no outline or introduction of the program. Each stop got presented with the words: “We’ll stop here, you can take pictures” without any further unprompted explanation. Lastly, we were asked to write this review under the guide’s supervision before the tour ended. When we kindly refused, he became a bit pushy and insistent. We were also asked to mention his name and give him 5 stars, since his company would instruct them to ask guests to do so. While we understand this might be a common way to motivate guides, this pushy approach to get a non-critical review felt uncomfortable. All in all, you do get the drive and to see the amazing locations, but if you want background information and more safety, I would probably recommend another provider.

Absolutely breathtaking trip through the desert, Moataz (Ein) did a great job guiding us on this day trip to Faiyum. He was incredibly warm, open, and prepared or any wild question a tourist like me threw his way. His jokes made sure we were having a good time and was the life of the party. 100% recommend and will definitely be booking again!

The whole trip was amazing including our guide Mohamed who made sure we were comfortable and happy the whole time 🙂 We drove in the jeep in the sand dunes which was really fun, saw the whale skeletons in Wadi Al Hitan, we saw the lakes and rested a little by the lake, visited the waterfalls and even tried sandboarding for the first time 🙂 We didn’t book lunch originally as one of us is vegan and we felt it would inconvenience the people at the camp but eventually our guide and the staff at the camp suggested several vegan options and in the end we even ate an amazing vegan lunch and played with tiny cute puppies in the camp who also went sandboarding with us 😁 We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would totally go again!

Really nice tour, well planned, friendly and experienced guys. Driving on the dunes was a lot of fun, swimming in the oasis lake was great, really tasty food in a tent in the middle of the desert. Abdelrahman was very helpful by the way.

We had a simply unforgettable experience in the heart of the El Fayoum desert. Since our arrival we were greeted with a delicious Bedouin tea, which immediately immersed us in the authentic atmosphere of the place. The adventure continued with an exciting 4x4 jeep safari through the dunes, a truly fun and adrenaline-pumping experience. One of the most fascinating moments was the visit to the Whale Cemetery: a unique place in the world for its history. We then admired spectacular waterfalls in the middle of the desert, something really rare and surprising. Back at glamping, we had a delicious lunch ahead of us. The day ended with sandboarding activities, the children had a great time, making the experience perfect for families. Special thanks to our guide Yemani, always attentive, professional and able to make us feel comfortable at all times. We highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to experience something authentic, exciting and out of the ordinary!

A simply unforgettable experience! This trip to the heart of the Egyptian desert was something magical, almost surreal. The endless golden dunes create breathtaking landscapes, so spectacular that they seem to belong to another planet. Our guide Yemani was exceptional: prepared, helpful and able to convey all the beauty and charm of the desert. Crossing the dunes with him was exciting and at the same time adrenaline-pumping. The comfort of the trip exceeded all expectations: impeccable organization, comfortable vehicles and every detail taken care of to perfection. And then the food... just delicious! Bedouin cuisine, authentic and rich in flavors, was a real discovery and made the experience even more special.

The incredible experience I had in the desert is unforgettable! The Valley of the Whales was simply breathtaking, and our guide, Abdelrahman, really made every moment memorable. We had the chance to reach an incredible viewpoint on top of a mountain, where we could admire Lake Wadi el Rayan. The waterfalls of Egypt were also impressive.
