We had the most wonderful experience touring Cairo with our guide **Max**, locally known as **Mohsen Hassan**. From the moment we met him, his warmth, professionalism, and deep passion for Egypt’s history were evident. As a qualified Egyptologist, Max didn’t just share facts — he brought history to life in a way that was engaging, insightful, and truly memorable. Our tour included the **Egyptian Museum**, **Khan El Khalili Bazaar**, **Saladin Citadel**, the **Coptic Church**, and a thoughtfully curated local lunch suited to our palate. This was our first visit to Egypt, and we were traveling as a family with our two sons. Max ensured that everyone felt included, engaged, and comfortable throughout the day, regardless of age. At the Egyptian Museum, Max expertly guided us through the most significant artifacts, clearly explaining their historical and archaeological importance while keeping the visit well paced and never overwhelming. He patiently answered all our questions and explained why certain culturally significant pieces remain here despite the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum — making this visit a must. Khan El Khalili was a highlight. Arriving early allowed us to experience the bazaar as it came to life. Max explained the layout, traditions, and best spots to pause for refreshments. Sitting in a 200-year-old coffee shop enjoying mint tea and local coffee was a truly authentic moment. At the beautiful Saladin Citadel and the unique Coptic Church, Max explained the cultural and religious significance with clarity and sensitivity. He also helped us take beautiful family photos and shared valuable local tips for exploring on our own. Max is more than a guide — he is a storyteller and gracious host. We wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone visiting Cairo, especially families seeking an authentic and enriching experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Itinerary
After picking you up from your hotel in the early morning, we’ll embark on an exciting journey to the historic heart of Cairo, the largest city in Africa. Our first stop is the magnificent Cairo Citadel, a colossal medieval fortress that stands as the most prominent non-ancient monument in the city. As we explore its impressive walls and towers, you'll gain insights into its rich history. Inside the Citadel, we’ll visit the stunning Mohamed Ali Mosque, often referred to as the Alabaster Mosque due to the soft white stone used in its construction. Marvel at its intricate decorations, soaring domes, and elegant minarets that dominate the Cairo skyline. This architectural gem is not just a place of worship but a testament to the city’s vibrant history and culture. Join us as we uncover the stories and secrets of this iconic landmark, setting the stage for an unforgettable day in Cairo!
After leaving the majestic Citadel behind, we’ll head to the vibrant Khan el-Khalili market, the most famous bazaar in Cairo. As we wander through its labyrinthine streets, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into an open-air museum, rich with the sights and sounds of local life. Here, you can browse an array of shops selling everything from exquisite jewelry and spices to unique souvenirs and authentic reproductions of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Once you've soaked in the lively atmosphere of the market, we’ll take a break for lunch at a local eatery. Enjoy a delicious menu featuring a variety of fresh salads, a flavorful main course served with rice and vegetables, and for dessert, a refreshing fruit salad that perfectly captures the essence of Egyptian cuisine. This culinary experience is the perfect way to recharge before continuing our exploration of Cairo's rich culture and history!
In the after noon, we’ll dedicate three captivating hours to exploring the Egyptian Museum, the most significant museum in Egypt and arguably the world. As you step inside, you’ll be surrounded by an extensive collection of artifacts that showcase the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization. Marvel at the intricately crafted masterworks that span thousands of years, offering a glimpse into the lives, beliefs, and artistry of the ancient Egyptians. The highlight of our visit will be the legendary treasures of Tutankhamun, a stunning array of gold and jewels that dazzled the world when they were discovered. From the iconic golden mask to exquisite jewelry, these artifacts tell the story of a young pharaoh’s reign and the rich history surrounding his tomb. As we wander through the museum's halls, your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating insights and anecdotes, making this experience not just educational but truly unforgettable.
Next, we’ll explore Coptic Cairo, one of the city’s most unique and historic neighborhoods. Our journey begins at Al-Muallaqa, famously known as the Hanging Church, which was ingeniously constructed atop the ruins of the ancient Tower of Babylon. As we step inside, you’ll be captivated by its stunning architecture and rich history. Just a short walk away, we’ll visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, a site of great significance believed to be where baby Moses was discovered thousands of years ago. The synagogue’s serene atmosphere and beautiful interiors will leave you in awe. To conclude our Coptic exploration, we’ll head to the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, also known as the Cave Church. This sacred site is where the Holy Family is said to have taken refuge during their flight into Egypt. After this enriching experience filled with history and spirituality, we’ll return you to your hotel, allowing you to reflect on the profound stories of Coptic Cairo.

Fantastic tour thank you Asmaa. We have learnt here that the difference between a good tour and a fantastic tour is the guide. Asmaa is a wealth of knowledge and very passionate about her city, her country and her heritage. We came away from this tour with a great understanding of everything we had seen, visited and experienced in a day. Highly recommended tour and we highly recommended Asmaa.
Love, love, love our travel guide! We had him 2 days in a row for different things. Great knowledge, fun and personable! Would use him 100 times over! Always made sure we were good😃
Everything great! The guide Mohamed and the driver Hegazy were friendly and always available to help us! We visit a lot of things in a day, the Cairo citadel, the Egyptian Museum, the Hanging Church, Khan el-Khalifa and more! We recommend them!
Excellent and very accommodating! Fatema is an outstanding tour guide! They also stopped at 2 shops that were not on the itinerary per our request
Our second day in Cairo was breath taking with Habeba! We started at Memphis and saw the amazing statue of Ramses II. Next we visited the Sakkara pyramids and had our Indiana Jones moment when going inside one of the pyramids. We experienced the pyramids of Giza in so many ways, first outside, then inside, with camels and last with atv bikes. The last part was definitely the highlight of the whole trip if you ask my teenagers. We ended our day with a dinner cruise at the Nile. Habeba is truly friendly, kind and such a lovely person. We loved every moment with her. Thank you so much for arranging everything for us and making our trip perfect! ❤️
Abdo was an exceptional tour guide. He was very knowledgeable throughout the entire tour. He took pictures for us, we had easy access to the museum and the Citadel, went to an amazing spice shop and had a delicious lunch. I highly recommend this tour and if you can get Abdo.
Don't hesitate to book! Fantastic tour and the tour guide Hebaba was amazing. Full of knowledge and answered any questions I had. Soft drinks included and the egyptian lunch was amazing. All entry costs covered too. 10/10
I would strongly recommend Moaz said our tour guide and driver. Who made us so comfortable and happy throughout the Cairo trip. He has been amazing, very helpful and kind. Must book tour with Moaz said.
Mo salah (mo) is an Egyptian Historian, trustworthy, friendly, and kind tour guide that I wanted to hire a second time. He speaks fluent English and Arabic and some Portuguese. Our driver Saeed (means “heavy”) is an amazing driver. We didn’t die in typical Cairo traffic and that says A LOT about Saeed’s skills in dodging camels, donkeys, horses, and tuktuk’s (not to mention suicidal maniacs cross several “lanes” of traffic). So exciting! I had an extra 6 hours and a general sense to see interesting buildings, and real Cairo streets that are walkable. Mo instantly put together the perfect custom private tour of Islamic Cairo and Coptic Cairo. He works for “Door Travel Agency” that helped. Holy Cow, we saw a lot! And I had a ball! Starting at the citadel to see the Mosque of Mosque of Muhammad Ali (Alabaster Mosque) which was MIND BLOWING, and the Al-Nassar Mohammed Mosque. After views of the city, right below the citadel are 2 more mosques we visited. Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan were Obama was overwhelmed by its beauty (the wood working is amazing), then the Al-Rafa’i Mosque (tomb of the kings). We walked Al Moezz Street, grabbed a Sobia (so good), then went to Cotica to see the hanging church and the Caden church before lunch with Egyptian food. The level of information Mo gave all along was perfect in that it was informative and interesting. He leveraged his local contacts to get us to private areas that the public could not go. He knew when to visit to avoid crowds. He is really the best guide I’ve had. He’s intelligent as he used to be a translator, teacher and really is a responsive and clear communicator. I wouldn’t look further. Just hire Mo and Saeed and tune your private tour with them because WOW! I’m picky and I tried to find some negatives but the price was very fair and we even made a couple other personal stops for me. They are so accommodating and wonderful, both of them.
Khalefa was an amazing tour guide and gave us a very memorable day in Cairo. We saw amazing sites that started with the Coptic churches and then was followed with an amazing tour of the new Egyptian civilization museum. Khalefa helped us effectively navigate the museum and made sure we saw the most interesting exhibits. After, we traveled to the citadel and mosque where he helped us take some amazing photos and taught us much about the Islamic history of Cairo. Finally, he helped us navigate the markets and showed us where to find some of the most interesting items and food. Khalefa took very good care of us every step of the way and went out of his way several times to make our day most enjoyable. I highly recommend Khalefa for any experience in Cairo.
By far one of the best experiences of my life, mostly thanks to Michael, an absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable guide! Great value and service, would recommend a thousand times over, don't hesitate, book!
This was a great tour with lots of information. At beginning of tour wael (my guide) and I started talking bout what I have done and what plans were for week. And since my tour had included tour of Coptic area and another tour later in week, he gave me option of skipping that part of the tour and doing something else instead. I really appreciated that him and Ahmad (my driver) would do that. It made that tour much more enjoyable and was more of a better value. Wael was great, we just moved along in our own pace and didn’t feal rushed.
The program is quite busy, fortunately we had already visited the Tahrir National Museum, so we had enough time for other visits. Our Francophone guide was excellent. We recommend this excursion as a visit to important points, the next day we returned alone to make additional visits.
We did this nice tour with Momo guide and Kalhed driver, and we can't thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism. They are both very prepared and attentive to the needs of their guests. Rating 10, super recommended!
A big thank you to our guide Mohamed Mohey Who made you feel at home in Cairo Everything was perfect. We saw so many things we tasted local dishes I can only highly recommend Thanks again
We called on Mohamed’s services for the family visit to Cairo with our son who is 5 years old. The explanations, in French, were perfect for us 3 as well as for his accompaniment beyond the planned visits. Again thank you for everything and we recommend Mohamed the guide and Mohamed the driver for these memories.
100% recommended, very safe, amazing rates, learned a lot of history and had fun like never before with Dima as a guide!
The experience in Egypt is magnificent but he felt even better with the guidance of Dressage, we learned a lot, we had fun and we felt very safe with him. 100% recommended.
Super Tour with Super Guide Mohamed who satisfied us in all our requests... Very considerate with children (1of 9 and 1of 12) and very very well prepared... Thanks again for this fantastic day...
