The guide, Julia, was nice, personable and her English was very good. We enjoyed this part very much. However, and there is a massive however. We asked to be brought to a shop to buy a silver bracelet and she brought us to a shop with silver and essential oils. The silver turned out to be about 5x retail price and much less silver than reported (by weight), and the essential oils were a scam. The place is Paradise Perfume Palace; Julia swore she knew them for long and they were a trust-worthy family business. At a couple of points in time I felt we were being deceived by the shop owners / workers… and we were. Aside from the lie about the silver cost / weight, they run a very common scam with the oils too… you just cannot believe a word rheybsay. They tell you you are getting that fragrant oil, all pure, all amazing, all family run, they enveloping it all around ‘Egyptian hospitality’, and then bottle a massively diluted versioning practically no smell sold to you at premium price. It’s so disappointing that all that ‘niceness’ was just a scam. Horribly disappointing the guide must have known from the start. I later read that part of the money you pay goes to a heavy commission to the guide (who also received a nice tip). You do your best to avoid stereotyping people and believe them and this happens. Extremely, extremely disappointing…

Adham was a very enthusiastic guide full of knowledge. He helped us navigate the huge Old Museum which could have been overwhelming otherwise.
EMO Tours did a splendid job in arranging this & others local tours in Cairo! Mr Zizo was so proud to help us in selecting the tours !! Ms Menna our tour guide was very helpful & Excellent service & friendly in explaining all details of the city & its bazaars & citadel & Museum!! Loved the experience & whole time Thanks to all of them in Emo Tours Cairo!!!
We were picked up from the hotel on time in a new air conditioned vehicle. Our tour guide Mike was very helpful, knowledgeable, respectful and had great Arabic and English. Although lunch is included in the package, we would not opt for it again. It was a very busy buffet. The package js a very quick and easy way to see the main sites especially with children.
Wagih was an excellent tour guide and took us to all of the amazing spots. We asked to change out one of the destinations to see the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Emo tours team made it happen for us for a very small fee. We had an excellent Egyptian lunch on our tour and everyone was very nice. I would recommend this tour to those coming to visit Cairo!
This company showed up in a nice air conditioned van. Bassma was our guide and Hassan was our driver. They were LATE!! We had a nice lunch on the Nile River. The tours were nice but we didn't get our full time. We scheduled 2 hours at Khan Khallili actual Time spent 30 minutes because we didn't shop with her people, scheduled 3 hours at the museum actual time spent 1.5 hours. Tour guide was knowledgeable, Hassan was kind and made sure my bags were safe while we moved about Cairo.
This is one for the books. My husband, toddler and I got a call from reception from Jasmin the tour guide that she is downstairs at the lobby. So we headed down. But couldn’t find her so we went out in front and found the driver. The driver found the tour guide and she wasn’t too happy that she couldn’t find us. The museum tour was fine. She was a little frustrated with our less than attentive behavior since we also had to pay attention to our toddler. The thought!!! We then headed to the citadel and she was knowledgeable but she asked about the bazaar and how the bazaar is not to her liking. That it would take 2 hours to go through the whole thing and it’s better to go to shops for specific items that we want to buy. I said no, the point of this day trip was to go to a bazaar and that we were not interested in buying any one thing but to experience a local bazaar. After that we went to lunch and then strangely we were heading back to our hotel, we actually ended back to our hotel! I asked Jasmin that we should get out money back since we didn’t get our full tour. This was a half day tour with lunch. She said I told them that you all were tired and to take you back to the hotel so I’ll tell my company to give you a refund. I NEVER once indicated we were tired. I told her at the citadel that we wanted this tour to experience a local bazaar. This is one for the books truly. I have had mixed reviews with emo tours. I would question and confirm the tour itinerary from the start of your tour and ensure you are getting your monies worth. One thing for sure, we will NEVER purchase a dime from emo tours. We want 33% of our money returned from Emo Tours. Unacceptable behavior and bad customer service. Needless to say, there was no tip for this tour guide.
Great experience, good driver and everything turned out great. Second tour I booked with emo. Would recommend
The driver Abdellah is a kind person, felt like going out with grandpa he's patient and explained many historical things at the downtown .
The mosque and the Cairo Museum were great. Our guide was knowledgeable but young and acted very immature. At times he was very annoying so we decided to cut our excursion short and skipped the bazar shopping experience because we no longer wanted to be around him. I would not recommend this excursion.
Paid $140 to include everything so I didn't have to worry about any additional fees, lunch, etc...I was so looking forward to this tour. Pros: on time pick up, driver and his car very nice, guide was knowledgeable. Spent quality time at the Mosque and Citadel explaining the history. Cons: I felt like i was a hassle or like a 3rd wheel on my solo tour. Maybe it is the cultural and age differences, but I felt the tour guide was speaking down to me at times when i asked questions. I tried to have conversations about the sites, but he lectured and talked over my questions. It was very patronizing, especially when he brought up politics and US/Gaza/Israel. I was very uncomfortable. This was a tour of history and culture, not a lecture on today's politics. I tried deflecting and just went quiet. He did not want to give me a tour of the bazaar, which I read so much about. He said it was all "Chinese garbage" and I was to come back in 30 minutes while he waited at a coffee shop. I didn't want to get lost, so after up and down 2 aisles, I returned to him. We then sat at the coffee shop where he talked for about 40 minutes. No conversation really, just me saying "I understand " at his prompting. On to the museum, which again, I was so excited for. Unfortunately, he rushed me through the museum so fast! He showed me only specific pieces. I had no time to look at other pieces or even take pictures. If I slowed down to take a quick picture of something to appreciate later, I would get his glare and "hurry, come come". He rushed so fast, I can't even say what I was looking at or appreciate the beauty. He rushed me through the gift shop. I felt bad for making him be there. On to the "lunch"...I was taken to this cafeteria with other bus loads of tourists, except I was solo. The place was so crowded, noisy, and the food cold. I felt very uncomfortable. Compared to my 2 other day's tours, this one was just disappointing and not worth the $140.
I had a fun and cultural experience on my tour to the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, and Khan Khalili Bazaar. We got to all the destinations very fast thanks to the master driving of Badr. I was able to navigate through the tightest of alley ways to get to our destinations in a timely manner. Yusuf was a great guide who was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I also gave me good advice on the customs of the Citadel and Churches in Egypt. I will definitely use EMO tours again. Thank you.
We had a good experience in this tour. Our guide Ranya was very informative lady. She roamed around with us tirelessly in the bazaar. Egyptian museum has no AC they just have fans at some places but the place was worth visiting.
Habiba was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and took us through the museum explaining the exhibits eloquently. We felt safe with her and the driver through the streets of Egypt and had a relaxing drive from the hotel to the museum and Citadel. Habiba was able to answer every question we asked and had such patience with us throughout the tour. I will recommend her for any tour in Egypt as her knowledge clearly stretches beyond the tour we completed with her.
The citadel was great and the mosque was amazing. Our guide talked too much at the museum. We had kids 9-8 and they were getting bored. Be careful with these tours they will bring you to business’ in the hopes you buy other things. Guide gets a cut of whatever you spend so they will try and get you. We didn’t go to the bazaar as stated. Guide said it was not safe and brought us to various stores owned in part by the tour company.
The guide was good and talkative about the details of Cairo life. The tour was missing a bit of real Cairo feeling though
Salah was an excellent driver with a wide range of knowledge concerning the history of Egypt and was the perfect tour driver for our visit. He was pleasant and patient as welll as a safe driver. His vehicle was very clean and he was timely. Even though we booked on a short notice, he made himself available the first thing in the morning to assist us. He was honest and seemed trustworthy, I would tour with him again anytime I am in Cairo again.
Two days with Meena. A wonderful guide that introduced us in our first travel in Egypt. A lot of information about old Egypt, from Cairo's museum to Giza complex, trough old citadel. A tailor made tour planned to fit our few time in Cairo. Thanks so much for your time.
Very good and honest driver, he showed us around the city and was very puntual at every destination. 10 out of 10
The driver was exceptional, very helpful, thank you Ahmed. The visits was great but it’s mentionned that the tickets are included but no.
Got picked up by a nice newer car with air conditioning- this ride was VIP all the way. Our guide was Ahmed Nour Kadder, we was super knowledgeable and passionate about his history. The Citadel was beautiful, you felt a sense os reverence. Ahmed explained the Muslim religion and their customs, The museum did not have air conditioning, they did have some fans so it was toasty walking around, not sure what the government does with all the money of the sold Egyptian treasures, seriously they need to put AC in the museum. Advise- Take a fan and water. It was awesome ti see mummies. The Bazar, well we didn't see much because our guide advised us not to shop there because they sell cheap stuff, so we ate some yummy Egyptian food he recommended. Only reason I put a 4 star is because I did wish we had free time to shop.
I had a young lady as my host guide , she was GREAT ! Very knowledgeable with the ancient history of Egypt. She explained the mosque and some of the beliefs clearly , I personally learned a great deal of information about a different culture and its people. We went to the market , I found another brass lamp to bring home as a reminder of the GREAT day I enjoyed !!! It is a must see !!! Fantastic experience !!!!!!!!!!!
Guide took me to a shop in Khan khalili bazaar straight to rip me off - the asking price of that shop is 3x higher than competitors 5m away, for the exact same product. She also did bare minimum explanation at the museum, e.g. I had to ask who are the people portrayed in the statue she brought me to (statue of Amenhotep III and Tiye) because she just simply said it's the first one in the museum and nothing else.
Nothing I write will begin to describe the perfect day I had with my guide, Mina, and driver, Syed. From the on time pickup, mind blowing, in depth explanation at the museum, the kind offers to regularly take my photo, and the history lessons at each stops… I could go on and on. I can honestly say I feel like I made 2 new friends after our adventures today.
Fatima was a fantastic tour guide. She did a great job and was very informative. Drop off and pick up No problem. Gave a great tour of the citadel, market and lastly the British museum. Took us through the aspects of ancient Egyptian civilisation. Would greatly recommend this tour.
Wonderful and professional service from my tour guide Yousef and driver Tamer . Yousef was very knowledgable and the buffet lunch offered a good selection. Highly recommended .
The tour was very informative, comfortable, and an amazing experience. Our guide Sayed Mahmoud was very knowledgeable and gave us all the time we needed to look around exhibitions (also a great photographer). Abdllah, the driver, made the drive to and from each venue was comfortable.
Great tour, well informed tour guide and cold water constantly provided. Tour guide car was on time and always close by.
Better to provide some equipments like a small loudspeaker to the guide along with a dry run with the guide by the company
The Cairo day tour began with the impressive Citadel site, Hosam, my guide, freely shared all the relevant historical, religious and architectural information. He also was selling Photographic DVD's of Egypt - which I felt obliged to purchase. Next, we did not go to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar as the Tour I had purchased and I expected to visit, instead we went to some dirt road lined with shops which Hosam said had the only Certified Egyptian wears and these shops all seemed to be expecting us? I learned about Papyrus, and bought an art piece. Next, the highlight of the Tour was the Egyptian Museum, Hosam gave a general introduction along with descriptions of several pieces he deemed note worthy. He then left me on my own to explore. Our driver Yasel, was trustworthy, a safe driver - but the guide and I were unable to connect with him at the end of the tour because his phone! was lost?!? The guide and I had to walk back to my hotel from the Museum. Certainly was a different Cairo Day Tour then I expected.....
A great way to soak up what Cairo has to offer, as well as learning from a very knowledgeable, from wonderful Tarek, and seeing amazing places.
Absolutely phenomenal tour guide by Mohammed! From the mesmerizing Egyptian Museum to the historic Citadel and bustling bazaar, every moment was enriching and captivating. Their deep knowledge and passion for Egypt's history truly shone through, making this experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!
Ahmed was a great tour guide! The day was exactly as described in the listing. We learned a lot and enjoyed everything we experienced. I would recommend this tour.
Very nice tour. Special praise for guide who was extremely knowledgeable. His knowledge of history of Egypt has been brilliant
We did the EMO full day tour of Cairo Private Day Tour to Egyptian Museum Citadel and Khan Khalili Bazaar with the Car+Guide+Entry fees+Lunch option. All the sights were wonderful, the guide (Ahmed) was knowledgeable and the driver on time. However, we did not stick to the itinerary order. Instead of starting at Egyptian Museum, we started with the Citadel and Muhammad Ali Mosque. And finishing those two sights early, we went straight to Egyptian Museum at around 11:30 skipping lunch - we were not given an option. Needless to say, this cut short our time at the famed museum as we (with four kids) were hungry. We ended up having a very late 2:30ish lunch, which admittedly was good. We also spent hardly any time at the Bazaar which is a fascinating place (maybe 20 minutes - nowhere bear the 2 hours as advertised. The poor time/schedule management did not make for a good tour. While the first half was fine, the rest spent hurried and hungry.
Great day, Mona was our tour guide, very informative and knowledgeable. She explained the different periods in the Egyptian museum and pointed out the main pieces that were of relevance. We were then take to the Citdel and mosque which were great. We.asked if we could skip the market and change to visit the hanging church which the tour company were Hhappy to do.
The citadel was so pretty! As we were there during Ramadan the market was only half open in the daytime hours but still super cool to explore. We chose the Grand Museum and the scale of that place is off the charts!
Our guide was wonderful, and structured the day well so we got maximum impact without crowds. She was kind and helpful and great at giving our 9 year old some interesting history. Was a delightful way to see the city.
Overall very disappointing experience - not only did the tour start ~30 mins late, but it also ended very early (it was supposed to be 8-10hours and we were done in about 3.5hours). Feel like we definitely didn’t get what we paid for, and the guide while seemed knowledgeable didn’t seem to be putting a lot of effort into explaining things / everything felt quite rushed (for example, we only spent about 1hour at the Egyptian Museum and didn’t see all the rooms). Could also have spent more time at the Citadel as we only saw the mosque. Overall not a great experience, and not good value for money.
Our guide was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and shared many historical facts we did not know. She shared about the most important components of Egyptian culture throughout history. We wish we could have spent our entire trip with this guide!!
Mona is amazing and very knowledgeable and caring. She did amazing job as a tour guide. We learned a lot about the history.
Ahmed Essam was an awesome tour guide, he was patient with us and operated the tour at our pace. We learned a lot about Egypt with Ahmed. Definitely the best guide we experienced in Cairo.
My tour guide, Lobna, was absolutely the best. Her explanations of the Citadel and Egyptian Musuem were clear and made everything come to life. Her love of her country and culture is apparent. A day with Lobna is just like touring with a girlfriend - easy and flowing with laughter. I inadvertently left my wallet in the hotel & was totally embarrassed. All Lobna said was "No worries - you are in Egypt" and yes - No Worries at all with Lobna.
The format of the tour is good. Pick up was on time we went to each of the replaces described. The Egyptian museum was amazing. The only problem we had was with our Tour Guide, she gave us way too much information, and when we asked to walk around on our own in the museum, she got aggressive and offended. She essentially told us we should come on our own time if we want to walk around by ourselves. She failed to realize that an eight-year-old didn’t wanna hear overly detailed information about every single object. Our driver was great.
The trip I had a few days ago (from Feb 5 to the 8th, 2024) was a blast! The driver, Mahmood, was quite professional, knowledgeable of all local areas and a nice friendly guy. He was awesome and made my stay in Egypt a memorable one! All the photos of all the beautiful tourist places were amazing! Emo Tours deserve more than five stars in their service and quality of its tour staff. All who I had the pleasure to interact or communicate with (from the rep of the airport, airport transfer, private care with driver, main office, operations staff and management) made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. WIll highly recommend your services; keep up the excellent work.
A great all inclusive trip again with Omar and Ihab. Pickup and drop off from our hotel. Traversing the crazy traffic in Cairo. Seeing the Citadel and the amazing Mosque of Mohammed Ali, just an incredible temple. The Egyptian Museum is filled with so many statues and relics. The room of relics for the boy king Tutankhamun Nebkheperure is incredible. You will see why he is famous for what was entombed with him. Don't take pictures in here, we missed the small sign and then were part of a group that was yelled at by the staff inside. Omar did a nice job of hitting all the highlight spots inside the museum and helping us understand the progression of history as we made our way around. Instead of going to the main Bazaar, we opted for another area of town with more reputable shops, our guides were more than accommodating.
We had one of the best experiences with our guide expert and egyptologist, Essam! Why? Because Essam knows all the unwritten parts of history than you cant find on the internet. He is smart, funny and makes great photos :). Our only regret is that we had to part eachother, we were lucky in having him for all our tour days. The drivers were professional and we had all our needs satisified. We ask you if you get the chance, to ask for Essam as your expert guide in your next trip in Egypt. You will not regret. Thank you for everything brother.
Excellent day with Hossam, an elderly gentleman and our guide who was informative, friendly and helpful the entire day. He made us feel welcome and treated us with respect whilst providing lots of information in fluent English of the areas we visited in Cairo. Only area for improvement is to spend less time in the touristy shops I.e. the cotton and fragrance shops which are expensive and time consuming, and more time in Khan el Khalili Bazaar (we only had around 30mins here because we ran out of time) - although whilst we were there he made us feel safe and guided us through the streets.
It's the most wonderful experience so far in Egypt for us. The tour is perfect so you can understand not only ancient Egypt but also their modern history. I strongly recommend this tour to everybody. Our guide - It's such a shame for us to forget asking him about his contact so we don't remember exactly his name - is a very knowledgeable Egyptologist. We truly enjoy talking and chatting with him because he can provide the answers to all of the questions that we have. He also gave us lots of surprises during the trip which made me and my partner feel very welcomed :). 10 out of 10 for our guide. (I wrote this review after my whole journey in Egypt. I had experiences with other tour guides & Egyptologists in other places than Cairo as well however our guide from this trip is the most outstanding one)
Great way to cover many sights. Informative and fun experience for all the family. Also ensured that we avoided any hassle and had a very enjoyable day!
