We had such a great day with our Amira and our driver Mohamed. They both went the extra mile to make sure we had a wonderful day. Ameria had so much knowledge and took the time to answer all of our questions. Mohamed drove with care and they both made sure my 77 year old mother-in-law with some mobility issued was taken care of at all times. Lunch was delicous, the old Egyptian Museum had so many wonderful artifacts, the market held many interesting shops and Couric churches were a wonderful end to the day. This is great value for money and I recommend this tour for anyone wanting to learn more about Egypt!

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. Built in 1901 by the Italian construction company Garozzo-Zaffarani to a design by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the edifice is one of the largest museums in the region. As of March 2019, the museum is open to the public. In 2020 the museum is due to be superseded by the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.
Coptic Cairo is a part of Old Cairo which encompasses the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George and many other Coptic churches and historical sites. It is believed in Christian tradition that the Holy Family visited this area and stayed at the site of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga).[1] Coptic Cairo was a stronghold for Christianity in Egypt until the Islamic era, though most of the current buildings of the churches in Coptic Cairo were built after the Muslim conquest of Egypt in the 7th century.
The Ben Ezra Synagogue (Hebrew: בית כנסת בן עזרא; Arabic: معبد بن عزرا), sometimes referred to as the El-Geniza Synagogue (בית כנסת אל גניזה) or the Synagogue of the Levantines (al-Shamiyin),[1] is situated in the Fustat part of Old Cairo, Egypt. According to local folklore, it is located on the site where baby Moses was found
Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church (Coptic: ϯⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲑⲉⲟⲇⲟⲕⲟⲥ ϯⲁⲅⲓⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲃⲁⲃⲩⲗⲟⲛ ⲛ̀ⲭⲏⲙⲓ Church of Mother of God Saint Mary in Egyptian Babylon), also known as the Hanging Church (Arabic: الكنيسة المعلقة, romanized: al-Kanīsa al-Muʿallaqa, Coptic: ϯⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲥⲓϣⲓ), is one of the oldest churches in Egypt and the history of a church on this site dates to the third century
Khan el-Khalili (Arabic: خان الخليلي) is a famous bazaar and souq (or souk) in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt. The bazaar district is one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike. It is also home to many Egyptian artisans and workshops involved in the production of traditional crafts and souvenirs. Tour Finishes with drop off at Customer Hotel in Cairo or Giza

Mohammed was a good guide, speaking English very eloquently, and he knew a lot about the history. He also could teach me a few hieroglyphics and the logic behind them. He has a good laid-back attitude, but professional aura around him, which makes him chill and not too demanding. The only minus point was that he was so good that the tour was over too quickly, and I didn't have anything to do for the rest of the day. So ask him a lot of questions and take it slow hahaha!
Lots of history. Infrastructure needs massive rebuilding. Animals are free to roam. Food was tasty..
One of our best experience we have ever had, our tour guide (Hassan karem) was very knowledgeable about everything we saw and i would highly recommend it to anyone who decide to come to eygpt.
My review on this tour is mixed. We scheduled for 9:00 AM. The email we received the day before said our guide would be at the hotel at 8:00. So all six of us were ready to go at 8:00. Guide didn't show up until 9:20 with only a small apology. We tried to contact EMO Tours but couldn't get through by any method so were quite relieved when he did show. We had to stop at one point and switch drivers so I am not sure what the issue that day was. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history but was very unprofessional in dress with holey jeans and a hoodie. On the upside, we requested not to do the Coptic Churches but to visit the Egyptian Civilization Museum instead since we had just learned that's where the mummies are now located. Our guide checked with the company and they said it was fine. We did buy our own tickets which was ok. We also did the old Grand Egyptian Museum which was fantastic! Our guide gave us too much information on some of the exhibits. We did the lunch option which was very good and there was tons of food. Our guide failed to tell us we were responsible for paying for our drinks. No big deal but we should have been informed. We were then supposed to do the Bazaar. Due to some translation issues with the guide, we ended up at some high cost stores that had the same things as the street vendors at a much higher cost. I do have to say, our guide did his hardest to make me happy and the tour lasted longer than stated which was our fault.
We were provided with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and nice driver. The guide was happy to arrange our tour at our requested pace.
Our guide was knowledgeable and kind. He helped a lady having difficulty with the stairs. He was sure to make us comfortable. We went everywhere we needed for souvenirs. His English was great. His history was amazing. Highest recommendation!
We had a good time. Mr. Sayed Mahmoud was funny and a good tour guide. He was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. Mr. Adel (our driver) was always on time to pick us up and opened our doors with a smile. Both gentlemen were nice and we felt comfortable being with them. Overall, we were happy with the tour.
For a good experience, the perfume and papyrus shopping depends on sizes of vials and bottles and paper you select because once in the USA, the max is 100ml. Yet they stamp and give a tourist license certificate. I hope my chakra essences go through and the size of the papyrus rolls isn't an issue. The guide took paper money from my hand and handed it to the waiter, whom was showing me the calculator in Egyptian pounds, I was paying and he and I were making change and such. It was very rude to swipe 200 Egyptian pounds ($40) for a bottle of water and a mango juice when at a buffet experiencing local waiters. The guide answered all my questions, the driver got us everywhere necessary.
Booked this tour as a solo traveling American female- wow I had a fabulous time! My tour guide Zeinab was on time, she had very good English and we saw all the sites. We went to so many places and it was a wonderful day in and around downtown Cairo! I highly recommend this tour as Cairo is amazing! We had a personal driver and a car which was super helpful and lots of AC too which made it very comfortable. I could not have done this on my own. Thank you EMO yours for the most wonderful day and being with me every step of the way!
Great tour with Emo Tour Egypt! Our guide Tarek was very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited the Old Market and some local shops — everything was well organized and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
I had the opportunity to go around and see the most beautiful sites at the same time learning about the culture and the ways they live now and they lived before I had a great experience. It was an amazing tour.
I have a very meaningful and wonderful guide today visiting museum & Coptic Cairo. As a female solo traveler, safety is my concern, and my local guide Hassan(I hope I get his name right) is walking with me all the way through, making sure I am safe & sound and enjoying the museum & churches visiting. He is simply knowledgeable and comprehensive in explaining the Egyptian civilization & heritage, he tells me every story and history behind in each spots. His English is very fluent without Arabic accents which makes me very easy to communicate with him. in museums, he introduce every history and story of those Egyptian exhibits, then he gave me " me time" to take pictures and footage. At some "photo-spots", he takes the initiative to take picture for me. This is so helpful for a solo traveler. At the end of the tour, he walks with me to my hotel making sure I am safe arriving at dropoff place as promised. The tour include lunch that he brings me to authentic Egyptian cuisine which is delicious. He even teach me the bargaining technique while walking in Bazzar. and of course, thanks for the Emo Tours Egypt that has arranged a comfortable and clean vehicale in today's trip, the driver arrives in no time getting me on board once after every places of visit.

Abdel was a great guide, on time, helpful and knowledgeable. The tour was very interesting but the Egyptian Museum was totally amazing.
We enjoyed our trip very much , guide was nice and car was very comfortable for four of us. We covered all the key places and in a very comfortable way.
Our guide was very friendly and enthusiastic. But with an itinerary that is so jam packed I would recommend that you agree up front the priorities for the day so that you don’t waste time going to things that you are not interested in ( in our case perfume, silver, spices and cotton shops)
Amazing day with guide Fatima, she explain the history of many pieces to egyptain museum. Then we go to see the bazar and finish the copta. The driver is very attencius too.
We had a brilliant tour with Adham who was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of all Egyptian history from ancient times until today. He gave a good summary of key events and was great at making sure we can get a good look at things we wanted to see. He was also was happy to take lots of photos for us and answer my countless curious questions. We were impressed how much we were able to pack into 8 hours with Adham. You need at least 2 hours in the museum (you could spend a whole day here if that’s your thing) and we spent well over an hour in the Coptic Quarter (which was more interesting than expecting), 30 mins at the bazaar/market and 1 hour for lunch (paid by ourselves). The rest of the time was spent driving, queuing and walking as you normally would in Cairo. Adham and his driver were even nice enough to drive us to the airport without requesting extra payment or pressuring for tips (I would of course recommend tipping appropriately based on your enjoyment of the day). We’re thankful for the unforgettable experience!
Museum was great, especially King Tut exhibition (just a shame you can't take photos of this bit). Wish we'd had more time in the museum. Coptic area was interesting but not a highlight of the trip. There was a good Bazaar and bookshop there though which was where we bought the souvenir statues we wanted, which turned out the be the best ones we saw across the whole trip (so very pleased to have bought there!). Market Bazaar was very busy and we were told not to buy anything as it was basically cheap tat so that felt like a bit of a pointless part of the trip. They tried to take us to the same shops we'd been to on the tour the day before so all tour guides obviously have the same places to try and get you to spend money, but once we said we'd done it and didn't want to go again they were fine (although clearly a bit miffed so not sure if they're on commission!) Tour guide for this trip wasn't very attentive to us as a group (can't even remember his name!) We had 2 party members with walking sticks but he still kept walking so fast we couldn't keep up and sometimes we totally lost where he went. On the way back to the hotel he even fell asleep in the van!
I cannot recommend our guide in Cairo enough! From the moment we met, their warmth and enthusiasm made us feel welcome and excited about our adventure. Their extensive knowledge of the history, culture, and landmarks truly brought the ancient sites to life. They took us to breathtaking places like the Egyptian Museum, sharing fascinating stories and insights along the way. Every detail of the tour was carefully planned, making our experience smooth and enjoyable. What stood out the most was their genuine passion for sharing Egypt’s rich heritage, which made the trip even more memorable. Thank you for an unforgettable experience! If you’re visiting Cairo, make sure to book this guide – you won’t regret it! PS: The Driver Yosef I just wanted to thank you for the excellent service and company during our trip. Your kindness and professionalism made the experience even more enjoyable.
Research your guide and request for an experienced guide. This guide needs training and support from the company
I'll start this review by owning up to my own mistake. I thought the tour started an hour later than it did. The driver, Hamed, patiently waited for us. That said, we were disappointed in the car itself ... Having taken a different private tour the day before which was newer, clean, well maintained, this vehicle was a disappointed. It was worn, very tired looking and not as comfortable. Bottled water was supposed to be provided and it was not. We had to ask many times for the driver to keep the windows up (and the polluted air out). He finally got the message but only after I had to get very firm. This is really just a driver for a day.. not exactly a "tour." He tried but the driver was not proficient in English. The tour company needs to provide better English speakers. He took us exactly where we asked to be taken (there was confusion over the Egyptian Museum.. I thought we were going to be taken to the GRAND Egyptian Museum (GEM) which the locals call 'Grand Museum' so there was frustration as I thought he was taking us to the wrong place. He also said the 'Grand Museum' was closed which I knew to be untrue. Aside from that, he took us exactly where we asked to be taken and we ended the day earlier than anticipated.
Highly recommend this company and tour operator. Pick up and drop off from our hotel was on time. Our tour guide made sure our booking of 8 people were all having a great time. She was patient and answered any of our questions the best she could. The lunch included was wonderful and the food choices at the buffet were wonderful! We were looking after well and had a phenomenal time. Thank you for everything!
Mina the tour guide was very helpful . 👍 and he explained history on each visit . He was very nice and welcoming … ok , will get him again on next visit
This was just so so. Out guide was very knowledgeable but her English was so heavily accented that we missed most of what she said. Also given Cairo traffic it was a long day. Too much crammed in
There was too much pressure for us to purchase souvenirs. The bazaar was excluddd from the tour and we were brought to specific shops away from the bazaar
It was impressive to visit the Coptic and the Muslin part of Cairo, our driver Mohamed Al-Sayed was really patient and friendly, he did a very good job 👍🏻
This was our second tour with Emo in Egypt and it was another win! Because we booked tours one day after the other, we were set up with the same guide! I felt that was unexpected but also really good on the companies part. The only mishap was there was miscommunication between booking on viator, the company, and guide. We booked at 8am but the company’s database had 9am, keep that in mind! It worked out in the end, but it was a frustrating start to the day.
Thanks to Emo tours for setting us up with our super kind guide (Wajih) which ensured that our day tour met or exceeded our expectations. Mr. Wajih was also very attentative to our son ensuring that he too get the best fun out of the tour. All in all, we really enjoyed the tour and can only recommend Emo tours and our guide Wajih for future travelers wising to tour Cairo and vicinity.
Our driver was so attentive to what we needed. We were promptly picked up from each stop and he even helped me get the cartouche I so wanted from this trip. I would gladly use this service again especially if you want to visit places on your time not a tour guide pushing you along. Such a great experience!!!
I recently took an amazing tour led by Salwa, a highly knowledgeable and licensed guide in Egyptian history. Despite a lot of walking, her insights made the experience enriching and worthwhile. Both Salwa and our driver ensured we stayed hydrated in the warm weather, adding to our comfort. The tour exceeded expectations, providing a deep dive into Egypt's rich culture. I highly recommend this tour and Salwa as your guide.
From the moment the tour began, it was clear that [she was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the area. Every historical fact, local legend, and hidden gem was shared with enthusiasm, making the tour both educational Overall, I cannot recommend Soad of EgoTours highly enough. If you're looking for a tour that blends knowledge, fun, and a personal touch, this is the guide for you. I’m already looking forward to my next tour with Soad !lll
Mormodiur was amazing! He is so passionate about history he made the tour that much better. He explained everything so well. He took us to the best bazzars fir shopping.
Tour guide was knowledgable during the visit top Egyptian Museum & Coptic Cairo. Bazaar only quick walk through.
Rania was the best guide ever! She was extremely knowledgeable and she took care of me as a guest like her own!
We had a tour guide Abdou who was excellent. Our tour started in the Museum of Civilisation- which takes you through the rulers of Egypt from 5000+ years ago to the present day as well as allowing you see the Mummies (all 20 of them ) Abdou explained the history - we did this at the end of a week long tour having completed Saqqara, Giza, Aswan, Luxor etc it really brought the tour together and I would highly recommend it. We moved I’m on to the hanging church and then the church under which sits the cave where Jesus and his parents were meant to have stayed when they had to flee Herod and so went into Egypt - it was stunning. Next we visited the synagogue (one of the oldest) this was built were Moses had resided as a prince of Egypt before he helped the Slaves escape. Finally we visited two mosques so we transitioned through the religious life of Egypt. We completed our tour with a bit of the oldest Market in Egypt. I loved this tour and Abdou brought the history to life once again I highly recommend him 10/10.
It was the best day of my whole trip, I liked the program - it included 3 places and even a lunch buffet on a boat. My guide Mahmoud, with whom we could speak both Russian and English languages easily, is kind, cordial person and highly knowlegible historian. Please, send my big thanks and warmest regards to him - I really appreciate his attention to my or, would to any traveller, individual situation, needs and spiritual interests.
Our tour guide essam and driver abdullah were excellent and really showed us the history of coptic cario. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome in Egypt. Highly recommend the tour and guides
Very fullfilling tour. In one day, we saw the highlights of Cairo without wasting time and on our own schedule. We chose an option of the driver assistance only and had a great time. He drove us around all places we wanted and gave some insights and directions. Sala was a great driver, very helpful and we enjoys his company. My recommendations are to take a 1 hour private guide at the museum to get a better understanding. You will see them around by the ticket booth and it cost just $20, money well spent. We also took a local guide at the Citadel for $10, which was also very interesting and helpful.
There is so much to see and our guide Omar did a fantastic job of catering our tour to exactly what we wanted to see. We saw all the highlights and couldn’t have had a better time! The mosques were breath taking. Coptic Cairo had lots to see and learn. The museum had an overwhelming amount of artifacts and our guide Omar took us to all the highlights and really gave us the most for the short amount of time we had! It’s the most fun I’ve seen my two teenage boys have on a tour!
Highly recommend the museum wonderful experience once in a lifetime. Wasn't impressed by the market as Everyone carries the same product's Also parking is a problem cario
The tour itself was good - both the guide and driver were knowledgeable and tentative. However we picked the option that includes the driver, guide and entry tickets (which was ~ 100 dollar more than the option without the tickets when we booked it). Turned out we only needed two tickets for the meseum (~ 20 dollar) during our tour. Probably good to check the ticket price before booking so that you don’t end up paying the extra for nothing.
Zainab was amazing as a guide. She is very knowledgable and speaks great english. She will tailor whatever you wanted to see on the trip and will give you a great experience on all the included items. I had a great time and she showed me a lot of the city and it's real feel.
The guide was amazing!! Hesham Mohmed is really kind and always makes you feel confortable. The museum is amazing, altough there is a lot of people and there is no air conditioner, the time spent there is really valuable. Also the car driver was an amazing driver in the crazy Cairo.
I booked this tour solo for my first day in Cairo, and it was absolutely perfect!!! My guide, Sayed, was very knowledgeable and super nice. He told me about the history of Egypt and Cairo as I expected, but he also made time to tell me about Egyptian culture and some good places to eat. I felt very welcome and taken care of, and I learned so much during the tour. I can not recommend this tour enough, especially for your first time in the city.
The tour was fantastic! My tour guide, Mahmoud Anwar, did an exceptional job of explaining all the history of the sites in this tour and introducing me to great local food in between. Two thumbs up from me!
Knowledgable guide and good driver. Can not do the museum without a guide, just too big. Bazaar was still expensive, but Coptic Cairo was good
Lobna was an excellent guide. She was really informative, friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this tour!
We liked the trip a lot. The museum was unique and full of beautiful artifacts. Coptic Cairo surprised us, we didn’t expect such nice place. Our guide told us interesting stories about this place. We had a trip with lunch. Lunch was in local restaurant, we like sitting under the tree eating food and observing people the street.
