We also traveled to many different areas of the city by car and tuk tuk. Our guide knew everyone throughout the city. Great host and experience. Highly recommend this tour.

OK. Don’t even hesitate. This was one of the best tours ever. No pressure and times of fun and laughter. The food choices were excellent. We opted for the local foods and restaurants vs the touristy one and we were not disappointed at all. It was fantastic and we would do it all over again.

We 4 had the BEST time! Sameh was an excellent guide and introduced us to many new foods. He is a happy guy with tons of energy. Sameh took us to places that there were only locals. He knows so many great places. Beside the food, we had a wonderful boat ride on the Nile and great tuk-tuk ride through the streets of Cairo. Make this a must do when you come to Cairo!

Amazing experience - a must-do! I would give it more stars if possible! Sameh (abuya!) is a wonderful guide and he did an excellent job of showing us around, teaching us Egyptian history and phrases, and of course introducing us to delicious foods and restaurants we never would've found on our own! We opted for the "local" experience and it was a wonderful opportunity to see Cairo beyond the touristy spots. Everyone we met along the way was so friendly and welcoming. There were so many different kinds of foods--as others mentioned, make sure you are hungry. The tuk tuk ride at the end was a hoot and a nice way to finish the evening.

What a great experience with Sameh. The best ever. Tasted so many dushes at tge best places. Excellent value for money. If you vist Cairo, you should do this tour.

The food tour was great - dealing with Cairo traffic isn't however. The food stops were within walking distance of each other in downtown Cairo after being picked up at our hotel. Nice variety of dishes, desserts and drinks. Mr. Sameh was a good guide. Just be careful walking in traffic. Unfortunately, we had to pay additional money to the Uber driver who dropped us off back near our hotel, and he did not take us directly to the hotel entrance (late at night and in darkness).

My guide Sameh was the best. He was well known in his city. Even at one restaurant I got hands on experience cooking my food & took pics with the staff. He also sent me information on the food that we ate

Sameh was a fantastic food tour guide!! He chose a variety of local restaurants and the food was delicious!!!! During the tour we had a boat ride on the Nile and near the end of our tour, we had a tuk tuk ride through the fruit/vegetable souk. We highly recommend this tour!!

This is a great opportunity to eat your way through Cairo’s neighbourhoods with a very engaging host. Lots of fun and way too much food.

Sameh was a great food tour guide and truly made our experience in Cairo a fun night. From the moment we met him he was friendly, charismatic, and entertaining! His sense of humor and storytelling kept the atmosphere lively the entire time. We got to try a variety of delicious foods, each one thoughtfully chosen and explained. On top of that, Sameh added extra fun to the experience with a tuk tuk ride and a Felucca ride with music, which made the tour feel even more special and unique.

We have joined food tours in many different countries but found this experience with Mr Sameh the richest not only with the local Egyptian food he introduced us to, but also because of his passion for introducing us also to a trip on the Nile in a Felucca, A tuk tuk ride through the neighborhood and much more I don’t want to spoil. I do a good tour almost in every city I visited and this was by far the best. Sameh was such an excellent host and it was so much fun. He's probably the happiest person I have met & all food vendors love him . Come hungry & expect the unexpected! 100% recommended!

We visited over the Eid weekend, and it was a frantic, crazy but fantastic experience. Such a jovial and celebratory atmosphere throughout downtown Cairo, and Sameh was an amazing guide through the chaos. Super friendly, funny, and with excellent English - really brought the energy to take us late into the night. Whether that be utilising his many local connections, organising speedy transport, or dancing on a felucca on the Nile. Leave room for the many courses you will enjoy during the tour! Yalla beena

More than just a food tour, I had an adventure riding in a tuk tuk, had an opportunity to see Egyptians celebrating Eid, visit a market, and more.

Be sure you are hungry for the food tour! We enjoyed our tour making many stops via taxi, walking and tuk tuk. A fun first day and intro to Cairo. Great host, very friendly and knows the best spots. The food tour was one of the highlights of the trip, especially for my teen son, highly recommend!

We were picked up from our hotel on time. Our food tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. We were introduced to so many different foods and restaurants. It was fun and very tasty. It lasted longer than we expected but oh so with it. I would not hesitate to recommend this food tour to everyone. Please try it out, you won’t regret it. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Sameh bursts with energy and good vibes. He will take you to places you surely wouldn't find in your own. Stumbling through cairo sidestreets and markets on a ramadan night has been a lifetime experience. This is not only a great opportunity to taste foods that are not on the menues of hotels and luxor restaurants, but also to get around cairo dive into local life.

We had a great food tour with Samesh. He’s quite a character - lots of laughter and energy. He took us to quite a wide variety places - some quick stops and some longer plus going into the kitchens! You’ve got to be a bit adventurous as the three of us hopped into a Tut Tut at one point and also one of the stops was a quite shabby food stall. All good though. A very memorable evening. 👍🏼👍🏼

Our guide Sameh was just the best. He made this food tour a fantastic experience. We experienced various foods, had a Felucca ride on the Nile and enjoyed some laughs. This was such a great start to our Cairo experience. I can highly recommend this tour and can definitely recommend Sameh as a guide. This is a must do when visiting Cairo.

Fill up on the Koshary. I went back the very next day! It really is incredible. The rest of the stuff you can take small samples of or else you will overstuff yourself to the point of feeling bad. Happy to report that none of the food make me sick, which of course is a concern in Egypt. The guide is very smiley and energentic. He got us taxis when one person had issues walking. Do this your first full day!

We’ve probably done about 30 food tours at this point and I think this might have been the best one. I think the food was good but the thing that made the tour amazing was Sameh. It felt like we were on a night out with an old friend. So many unexpected delights.

Highly recommend this tour to get to know Cairo. The city is overwhelming on your first visit, but this tour gets you to know the amazing Egyptian culture and taste the delicious Egyptian food. We met with our guide Sameh shortly after landing in Cairo, and we felt that it was the the best way to orient ourselves eVairo and Egyptian food. Sameh was so fun, full of valuable information, and great tips for the best food! We tried so many bites, and delicious drinks! We fell in love with freshly made Hawawshi- so good! Semsem is an amazing host taking us to hidern local spots. He was able to combine this with history and a cultural perspective. He shared his love of food along with his favored Egyptian music. His engaging and joval personality made for a fun tour. To many highlights to pick, however I did really enjoy the tamarind drink. Would highly recommend Semsem to those who wish to get off the beaten path and enjoy local cuisine.

We have done food tours in many different countries and Mr Sameh is one of the best guides we have ever had! He is extremely personable, positive and provides lots facts about culture, history and present day traditions. We stopped at least 10 different locations and in many were shown the process they used in preparing the dishes. If you want to experience authentic Cairo we highly recommend spending time w Mr Sameh.

SemSem was our host. He was kind and personable. And our overall assessment of the tour was that it was superb. Unfortunately, it came on the heels of a lonf pyramid day for us, so we weren't super thrilled. . Not his fault. The food was tasty and plentiful. Do come with an appetite, as you WILL be well fed. If I had to go back and remember the # of food stops, I'd say 8-10 including ice cream... plus 2 drink spots. Additionally, we were taken on a felucca ride on the Nile; that was lovely. We also finished the night racing around in a TukTuk... some might consider that dangerous. It was definitely and adrenaline hit. Good tour. Highly recommend.

Where do we even begin?! Our tour was the most fun we had our entire time in Egypt (four cities). Whilst listed as a food tour, this is so so much more with history, culture, and a million laughs thrown in. Sameh is totally hilarious, so knowledgeable, and the funniest man you’ll ever meet. His network around the city is undeniable and he has a beautiful relationship with everyone. I cannot wait to see him again one day.

Wow an incredible few hours and a fabulous way to learn a little about Cairo and its culture and food. Our guide was amazing and packed so much into the time we had with him. The people of Cairo were amazing and made it memorable from traditional food (lots of it) unexpected boat ride and tuk tuks. Loads of fun and truly crazy at times navigating Cairo.

Mr.Sameh did a wonderful job! Great communication prior to meeting and was very prompt! Make sure you go hungry because the food portions are immense and delicious! I am sure my spelling will be incorrect but we started the tour with some sugar cane juice that gave us the sugar high we needed. Our next stop was for kosheri..a dish with pasta, rice and garbanzo beans that you too with crispy fried onions and add a tomato sauce. Followed that up with ice cream so creamy and smooth. Our next stop was to observe and have a small sample of shawarma meat, both chicken and beef. We took a tiny break from eating with a lovely boat ride where we learned some Egyptian dance moves. Next was the best Fallafel of your life, these are made from fava rather than garbanzo and hands down the best. Hiroshima sounds Japanese but it’s lamb meat spread on slices of round pita and then roasted until crispy..another delicious huge portion. It’s served with pickles and Tahini. We let that settle and then tasted tamarind juice and ended with a desert not to be forgotten called koumbula, a rice cake bottom topped with fruit and a cream topping! This tour will fill you up and later you will want more.

Thebest food tour I have ever been on. We tasted all the local food eaten during Ramadam.such amazing choice and all delicious.we went for a falucca ride and tuc tuc to get to some restaurants. Was varied and amazing such a fun guide Shady we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, we recommend it .we could never have found all the restaurants and food alone we even tested baklava as street food.was delicious also

One of the best tours we've done ever. The food was plentiful and delicious, but a warning - go with an empty stomach! Sameh was a very warm, friendly and knowledgeable host and went out of his way to accommodate what we wanted. This wasn't really just a food tour. We saw and learned about so many places in Cairo that were off the regular tourist track that we felt we got an eye opening insight into the real city. Everyone we met genuinely wanted to show off their local food and tell you about it and Sameh clearly had a great relationship with them. A lovely boat trip on the Nile and a visit to the crazy and bustling Ramadan market (only available in the runup to Ramadan note) was included and absolutely no hassling by anyone. This tour was a highlight of our visit. Ten out of ten!
