This was a truly unforgettable night and the absolute highlight of my time here. Mustafa and Mohamed made us feel so welcome, and the dinner was excellent. The night ended perfectly under a breathtaking sky—a must-visit for any stargazing enthusiast. Totally recommended!

An absolutely amazing experience! Mohamed, Mahmoud, Moustafa, and all the other staff members whose names we don’t know handle everything so smoothly and beautifully that all you have to do is enjoy the experience! After a 4-hour trip from Cairo, we had lunch featuring local delicacies. Then we took the desert road. If you want to embark on an experience like this, you’ll have a wonderful time if you go with the flow and are aware of the limitations. If you’re the type to complain, this might not be for you. Every place you visit in the desert is amazing, and the views are one-of-a-kind. Gazing at the endless star clusters and enjoying a wonderful barbecue dinner, along with Moustafa’s energy and music, made for an unforgettable evening. We chose not to sleep in a tent; instead, we slept outdoors on a mat, just like a local, because we didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity. They’re genuine people who go above and beyond to ensure you feel completely safe and comfortable. Thank you for everything. Anyone who wants to experience this should choose this company without hesitation.

The experience was very interesting. You basically do an excursion to the white and black desert and spend one or more nights there. The guides and drivers know the terrain so you are in good hands. I recommend it if you are up for a bit of an adventure.

One of the most unique experiences I had in Egypt. The trip is long from Cairo, but it is absolutely worth it because the landscape feels completely different from the city. The White Desert, Black Desert and Bahariya area were incredible, and the whole experience felt much more remote and adventurous than a normal sightseeing tour. My driver Mustafa was very helpful and made the long journey comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see a different side of Egypt.

I had an amazing White Desert and Black Desert tour and would highly recommend this company to anyone visiting Egypt. My experience was excellent from the very beginning. I was running late in Cairo, but the team was very patient and waited for me, which I really appreciated. We then drove to Bahariya Oasis, where we had lunch before changing to a 4×4 vehicle and starting our desert adventure. The Black Desert and White Desert were absolutely stunning. Our guide and driver, Abu, was fantastic. He knew all the best spots and made sure we had enough time to enjoy each location. He also helped take incredible photos for me. He would climb up and down hills, find creative angles, and even roll around in the sand to get the perfect shot! He even used his own phone to help capture great pictures. The overnight stay in the White Desert was one of the highlights of the trip. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and spending the evening under the stars was unforgettable. We sat together, talked, enjoyed the peaceful desert surroundings, and Abu played music and sang for us, which made the experience even more special. Thank you for such a memorable adventure. The beautiful landscapes, great organization, delicious food, and Abu’s kindness and enthusiasm made this trip truly unforgettable. Amazing guide, unique tour and experience

It was a truly enriching experience. The activities and stops along the way offer picture-perfect views. Mohamed’s team is very friendly, and although I never met him personally, his team was always attentive to our needs. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We were very satisfied with this trip. Black and White Desert are one of a kind natural beauty and the night sky is amazing. We were picked up by the driver, in a van, from our hotel. In the Oasis we changed for the 4x4 with local guides. In the desert we were accompanied by two very brave drivers, they were great and cooked a delicious dinner. You must keep in mind that this is an adventure, not a luxurious escape and that during the night the desert is pretty chilly so you need warm clothes. The tents are well equipped, with a sleeping bag and warm covers. In conclusion, I strongly recommend using this agency to plan your trip to the Black and Withe Desert.

Wonderful trip, very well organised, I was picked up from my hotel, although it was not officially listed. The itinerary went according to the plan. The meals were very good. I definitely recommend it.

The details provided prior to booking this trip were nothing of what we experienced. The details did not specify only back packs and small bags allowed into desert. The lunch provided at the lodge before we left was terrible. We were told prior to departing the lodge for the desert there was no running water or toilets available at the camp site. If you had to go to the bathroom you just used a place behind a rock. There was no trash containers to put used toilet paper in or a set up wash station for your hands . All around the area of the camp site you saw used toilet paper, kleenex and wet naps flying around. It is absolutely outrageous and disheartening that there is no regard to protect or preserve the area which is deemed as a National Park. The tent provided had broken zippers on the door. The sleeping bags and blankets provided were continuously passed along from group to group, thus it is questionable on the laundering of the equipment. We were told to bring bathing suits for a swim in a natural oasis. The oasis turned out to be a man made concrete pool that has pumped water into it. The pool was covered in green slimy algae and it was surrounded by garbage and flies. No change rooms available even if someone would actually consider getting into it. The scenery truly is spectacular and night sky is an experience of a life time. If you book this trip do not have high expectations, have wet naps, kleenex and a back pack. You won't need a bathing suit. Bring warm clothes for the evening as it gets cold in the night. This trip is bare bones where you are sleeping on the ground either in a tent or under the stars. The dinner provided at the camp site was good. It was cooked over an open fire by the guides. If they continue to have no environmental practices it is unfortunate that the area will just turn into another land fill.

Beautiful trip to the desert, everything works as expected, the view of the Sahara is totally worth it. The tour does the job, some points like the hot springs feels unnecessary as there is not so much to see or do there, they are artesian bores not really natural hot springs. The view of the sky at night, the sunrise at dawn and the dinner with the guide made the experience already memorable. I would have liked to learn more about the desert, the context and historical background, not much information is provided other than the names and schedule.

The whole trip was amazing. The friendly guides took care of simply everything. They played the drum at the fire in the evening and it was such a nice gathering. We had enough time to watch everything along the way. The white desert was our favourite. Impressive rocks in special forms. We got a delicious barbecue at night. We highly recommend the trip.

I travel for this weekend 07/02 until 08/02 in black and white desert and I do a camping also in desert one night. It was the best experience ever. Our guide and driver Iman was so good and helpful man. He do the best for us. I would like to tell a big "thank you" to this man. I suggest if you would like experience like that! Our experience at the white desert was great. An adventure of a lifetime. The food was so good. And the musthafa and his team were amazing. Really enjoyed! It was a long ride but its really worth it.

Intense desert trip with tent accommodation and basic food. Incredible landscapes, nice 4x4 tour, with explanation of agenda and places that could be improved

The landscape was spectacular. The logistics were terrible. Don't miss the trip but try a different company (ours was Othman Tours). The lowlights: charged us for a hotel pick up that should have been free; drivers ran late; crammed 7 adults into a mid-sized SUV (people had their luggage under their feet for 5 hours); no lunch or snacks on the way home; desert guides spoke very poor English; no effort to care for the fragile desert; no toilets; no pillows; no chairs. The highlights: a unique wilderness camping experience; incredible star gazing; fantastically beautiful scenery; enthusiastic desert guides (too bad they couldn't tell us all they know); singing and drumming around a campfire; sand boarding and off-roading! Participants must be agile enough to navigate outdoor terrain at night, squat to relieve themselves and get up and down off the ground. Might be terribly hot in the summertime.

Wahid was a very friendly guide. He took good care of us and made sure that we had an incredible experience. Cannot thank him more for a beautiful night in the desert.

I highly recommend taking this tour with them. The views are absolutely amazing. There’s going to be a lot of driving and sitting in a car that will most likely not be the most comfortable, but these people are great and they are doing an amazing job. I was baffled with the great barbecue dinner that they were capable of pulling out in the middle of freaking nowhere. The tour guide does everything to make you happy and to make sure you’re having a good time. By the way, your tour guide is also the driver, the cook and the ones that set up the tent for you to sleep. It’s a group of very hard-working people and I really appreciate that. The views are out of this world. Laying down on the desert and watching the shooting stars is something I will carry in my heart forever. You’re going there for the views. It’s not a five star hotel, your camping, keep that in mind and relax.

It was the best tour I experienced in Egypt. Without this tour, my trip would have been just an ordinary one, similar to that of any other tourist. The biggest highlight was sleeping in the desert. At that time, I saw a shooting star for the first time in my life and was able to make a wish. The BBQ prepared by the Bedouin tribe was delicious and truly unforgettable. In addition to that, the White Desert, the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, and other sights were absolutely breathtaking. I think the tour price is very reasonable, as it includes one night’s accommodation as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If your group has fewer than five people, you cannot choose your companions—but go with an open mind and enjoy it! I was paired with a wonderful Canadian couple and a wonderful French couple. I was very happy to share the experience with them because they were so kind and considerate. If you want to experience something different from other travelers, I highly recommend this tour. I hope you enjoy it too.

FYI. You are away for 31 hours. In that time you will spend 9 hours on a mini bus and 7 hours in a four wheel drive. It is a really really long way to go. There is no group camping, just an isolated camp with the five passengers and the driver. Two tents, and a wind break. The desert is your toilet, awkward in daylight, easier at night, but make sure you have strong thigh muscles to squat. For $370 I am sure you can find better things to do with your time in Egypt. 😢

The whole experience was incredible. Everyone was very nice, our driver in the desert was amazing, very kind, a good cook and the whole trip was great. The landscape is breathtaking. I do recommend doing this.

I had an amazing experience with othman tuor on the White and Black Desert tour. Everything was perfectly organized from clear communication before the trip to comfortable transport and a knowledgeable, friendly guide. The camping setup was great, with delicious meals and a magical night under the stars. The itinerary was well-paced, covering all the highlights without feeling rushed. Truly unforgettable and highly recommended!

We spent three weeks as a family of 5 touring through Egypt. This tour was an incredibly beautiful experience which we can not highly recommend enough! From pickup and return in Kairo to the driver/guide in the black & white desert everyone was highly professional, caring and attentive. The desert guide knew the desert by heart and knew his stuff about how to handle the 4-wheel drive. Trust me, I have lived and toured 4x great deserts of the world and it is important, to have experts involved. They set up a private camp for you and offer a tent but we slept under the open sky with the stars in the middle of nowhere. They cook you an excellent dinner. One of my daughters is a fussy eater and she ate more than any other evening in Egypt and mumbled „Daddy, tell the guide he knows how to cook!“. Sleeping under the open sky, waking up just before sunrise, to see the stars so picture perfect above you, you feel the sky might fall into you and the stunning sunrise, is an experience we will all savor for years to come. The tour was absolutely amazing! The desert landscapes were truly breathtaking, especially the White Desert and camping under the stars – an unforgettable experience. Our hosts at the camp and the driver Ahmet were very nice and welcoming. The multiple meals were provided, and the food he cooked in the desert camp was really good! Everything was well-organized and ran smoothly. If you want a unique and memorable adventure from Cairo, this tour is highly recommended!

I had a great time. Our tour guide was really good. He showed us a lot of different places. He even played the drums for us at the campfire. The night sky in the desert is amazing. Definitely worth it

The tour guide was rude throughout the tour. He did not introduce the place that we were visiting. When asked, he blamed people in the tour did not understand English. As a experienced tour guide, I am sure he could have handled a group with mixed language ability. Most of the time, he left us at the desert and he rest in his van. His arrogance and negligence deprive the group member who speaks and understand English like us. More importantly, we paid 120 USD per person for the tour. Yet, the rest of the group in our tour only paid 70 USD per person. We shared the exact same experience, transportation and food. I wonder if we were over charged on this exact same tour. The desert is stunning and this is an one in a life time experience. We were still amazed by the desert. However I would NOT recommend traveler to join the desert tour with this company.

We had an amazing time in the desert and were so happy with our guide Kareem. He was attentive and funny and we did all the activities we wanted to do, the sights are beautiful and everyone is super friendly ! Oh and the food was amazing !

It was a once in a lifetime experience. I would totally recommend this trip if you’re into nature and camping. They really took care of me even while I was fasting. They made sure I was comfortable. My guide, Shams (I hope I spelled that right), made sure I had my suhoor and that my tent was in excellent condition. The trip itself was amazing and so are the people. You have to experience this, as this was something so unique. The food was also so so good. I’m definitely going to do this trip again if I get the chance.

The desert itself is, of course, breathtaking, and camping under the stars was a beautiful experience. However, several aspects of the tour did not match the listing or our expectations, leading to an overall disappointing experience. After reaching out to Othman Tours for a partial refund, our concerns were completely dismissed, which is why I’m sharing this review. 1) Our "guide" spoke just a few words of English, and there was no tour or information given whatsover, even though they promised us a English speaking guide when starting the tour. We had been looking forward to learning about the desert but learned nothing except when we asked another group guide at one point. It was also very confusing trying to understand what we were doing - thankfully I speak a bit of Arabic to get some direction. 2) The lunch had packaged chicken nuggets, and breakfast was nothing like the picture - aside from some hard boiled eggs, cheese, and bread, the only things available were processed, sugary packaged things (which we don't eat.) The dinner however was amazing, but 2/3 meals being subpar is not worth the price. 3) In the beginning, I asked the main guy at the hotel if we could be with our friends we had met in Cairo before the tour (they'd booked the tour separately but with the same company.) He said no, we couldn't be together in the jeeps but that we camp nearby and promised we would have fun. My friend and I were paired with three strangers who were kind but very quiet. We camped far from anyone (I understood we would all do the tour separately but camp nearby our friends.) And slept early. Later, we found out, of course, that our group of friends had had tons of fun laughing and dancing with their large group and multiple jeeps parked nearby each other. 4) There was no Bedouin show. They later told me it was becuase of weather, but nonetheless this was not communicated. Overall, we wish we had just booked a private driver and done the trip ourselves.

The trip to the desert was fantastic! The people operating the tour were kind and professional. They made sure everyone was comfortable and had everything they needed. I will say; they genuinely want their guests to enjoy themselves. I had been on a previous desert excursion in another country where the food was subpar, and didn't have high expectations, yet the food on this tour was good! The other guests were super freindly and it made for a nice experience! I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to camp out, take photos and explore another side of Egypt.
