We highly recommend this tour with this team. We arrived a day early to Cairo to add this tour on the front end of our Trafalgar Best of Egypt trip. Our driver Ashraf was timely, kind, well conversational in English, and also answered all our questions to and from Alexandria. Our guide in Alexandria, Rasha, gave us a fantastic introduction to Egypt with her interesting descriptions and history of the sites we visited in her very clear, excellent English. She gave us all the time we wanted at each location, gave us choices along the way, answered our many questions, and was so very knowledgeable, kind, and pleasant to spend the day with. We highly recommend and would rebook with this team again ourselves for further exploration!
We really loved the tour, a very nice combination of history, local food, culture and souqs. Very nice energy. Would highly recommend!!
My brother and I had the best experience in Alexandria, and Heba, our tourist guide, was the person who made that experience more enjoyable and acknowledgable. She explained us everything in a easy and well-done way that we got a better understanding of how was the old life and culture and in Alexandria compared with the rest of Egypt. Heba was beyond our expectations and we're so grateful for having her as our guide.
From the moment we met Karim in Alexandria he made us smile and it seemed everyone in Alexandria knew and loved him. He spoke very good English and provided lots of information on the places we saw and answered all our questions. He gave us as much time as we needed and we felt very honoured to be escorted around Alexandria by him. This tour company included visits to all the important sites. Don’t use a company that ‘passes by’ sites, you will miss out on some fascinating places. Also a shout out for our driver from Giza to Alexandria and back. We felt safe with him and his English was good enough for him to tell us about the sites and countryside that we passed on the journey. We chose not to stop on the journey and it took just over two hours each way. One tip. We didn’t book the tour inclusive of entrance fees (on any day of our holiday) as our research showed that we could book entrance tickets cheaper online ourselves. We didn’t manage to get the tickets for Alexandria beforehand so Karim took us to a ticket machine at the first stop where he helped us buy all the tickets. It took moments and was so much cheaper than paying the tour company to organise the tickets.
The tour was great. Our guide is very informative and knowledgeable. All the places we visited have so much history She even went with us in the public market to buy souvenirs with egyptian prices. She is very honest person can thank her enough for this memorable tour in Alexandria.
Excellent day tour with our guide Mrs. Rasha. She was very knowledgeable and courteous. Visited many places during the day tour.
Rasha was absolutely lovely. She showed us around Alexandria and explained everything really clearly. She never rushed us, gave us plenty of time to take photos, and also gave us space to enjoy the experience. I had my grandma with me, and she was incredibly patient and kind throughout the whole tour. It was a really good experience, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone visiting.
I had a great tour thanks to Heba’s vast knowledge and experience. She knows Alexandria’s history quite well and has clearly had a lot of experience with guiding visitors. For me personally, she was more than just a guide: she showed genuine humanity as I needed special help. I wholeheartedly recommend Heba.
Karim’s food tour in Alexandria is less a tour and more a joyful, delicious life event. I arrived hungry and curious; I left happy, overfed, and questioning why I don’t schedule all my meals with Karim. He somehow knows everyone—chefs, bakers, grill masters, probably the fish themselves. Each stop was better than the last, which felt scientifically impossible until it kept happening. The food? Ridiculously good. The portions? Generous. The pace? Perfectly calibrated between “one more bite” and “I may need to roll to the next stop.” Karim is funny, warm, and explains food with the passion of a poet and the honesty of a true Alexandrian. You don’t just eat—you understand why this city tastes the way it does. If you’re in Alexandria and skip Karim’s tour, that’s fine—but don’t pretend you experienced the city. You just walked past it while it was busy being delicious.
Rasha was my guide for two days in Alexandria and Rosetta and she did an amazing job introducing me to many different layers of these places and their rich history. As a solo female traveller I couldn’t have wished for a better guide. On the second day I had a privilege of being also accompanied by Rasha’s husband Karim who is also a guide and having both of them as guides really elevated the experience because of their different but complimentary styles. It was a real privilege meeting both Rasha and her husband Karim who were the perfect guides for my short stay in Alexandria. I couldn’t re commend highly enough both of them! Thank you Rasha for introducing me to this magical city and a special thanks to Karim for the laughter and great time!
We really enjoyed our “Food Tour” in Alexandria with Karim. We felt that we saw and experienced the “real” Alexandria. Karim took us to restaurants where locals eat- we were the only tourists there. All the food we tasted was delicious. Karim also took us to markets where the locals shop, unlike the tourist markets that we had visited in Cairo. Super-interesting. After about 3 hours, Karim was not done- but we were exhausted from earlier touring and left tired but very happy with our food tour of Alexandria.
I walked with Karim through the city, stopping at lots of places. I’d asked for a food tour, which we had, but there also really good storytelling of the places that we passed through. The food stops were many and varied, sweet then savoury, then sweet and so. A really enjoyable way to spend some quality time in Beautiful Alexandria.
Just what we wanted and needed. A day around Alexandria with guides who knew the places and whose company we enjoyed. The fort, the Coptic cathedral, the catacombs, the Roman Theatre, the library. Driven around in air conditioned comfort. And a chance to have a lunch like the locals with someone who knew where to go and what to order. Rasha and Kareem were excellent guides and companions. Highly recommended.
I had a wonderful time food touring Alexandria with Kareem ! Great sweets, tasty liver and chili sandwiches, falafel spiced coffee, and on and on. Kareem went out of his way to fulfil all of my wishes. Some seafood would have been the icing on the cake though :-) I would definitely come back any day !
What an amazing day exploring Alexandria. Both guides were wonderful and extremely knowledgeable in all things Alexandria. The tour was fun and upbeat and the driving was so safe! Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Alexandria
Thank you for a most informative tour of Alexandria. Great to see the main sights. We appreciated the knowledge of our tour guide Rasha.
Karim was wonderful enough to accommodate my last minute food tour request and he showed me a side of Alexandria that was DELICIOUS. We began with a couple of small sandwiches – sausage and beef, liver, both of which were served on these tiny little torpedo, like bread rolls. Next we stopped at this delightfully charming family dessert spot for omwali, this incredible bread pudding like dessert served with a dollop of butter and honey. SO GOOD! An Alexandrian pizza served with this super thin dough with pastrami cheese and tomatoes was next. Then a sweet cake called harissa (not to be confused with the spice) which evoked memories of southern cornbread (but with just enough sweetness). And lastly bread stuffed with falafel and veggies and another pocket of bread with mashed beans. You need to be ready to walk a lot but Karim will make it a fun long walk (and you’ll get your steps in). Very recommended!
Wonderful time with Karim for the food tour in Alexandria! We walked in downtown Alexandria and tried really good food, saw old buildings, loads of good historical informations and so friendly! Go for it ! Thank you Karim!
Rasha is an excellent guide! She knows the city and history very well and gives thorough explanations of the sites. It's much more interesting to see the historic sites with the background explanations. We also stopped for a perfect sugar cane juice, which was perfect for the day. Happy to find her as a guide. Highly recommended!
We had an interesting tour with Rasha. She took us around the city, showing us the major highlights. She is professional and friendly. Would recommend her tour.
We met Karim for the food tour in the late afternoon. We were looking for something unusual and found it. Karim knows the city center perfectly and makes you live a safe but authentic experience between the narrow streets of the market and street food with anecdotes ti history and local folklore.
Very interesting tours of the city Ali was a perfect guide knowing Alexandria and the city of Rosette perfectly
I had a great time. The guide was both interesting and very fun. He made every moment captivating and entertaining. Thank you!
