Great day tour with our guide Mohammed who was very helpful and knowledgeable. Lots of sights packed into the day allowing us to see the highlights of Alexandria in a short space of time.
Very great tour, the guide Mohammed wae really sympathetic . A lot of beautiful places visited.
Solid tour to see the highlights of Alexandria in a day trip from Cairo. Our guide was very knowledgeable, answered our questions and took some good pics of us at the sites. Good value as all tickets were included in our price as well as a yummy lunch at a French inspired restaurant with a great view. Interesting to view the countryside between Cairo and Alexandria while en route.
We did the El Alamein day trip from Alexandria. The pre-trip communication and the pick-up/transport were very well organised. Trip was as described apart from missing one of the cemeteries which was closed due to Friday prayers, which I felt could have been anticipated. But we had sufficient time at the rest of the stops. The military museum could contain much more relevant information, but clearly that’s not the fault of the tour agency! Good lunch at the end of the trip.
Very long day. Picked up at 7.15 and didn’t get back til 8.30. Very good tour guide but hard to understand at times. On our tour we had 5 others in the van and we all opted for an earlier lunch than was planned. Van driver just lovely and stopped when we needed him to for bathroom etc.
Booked a full day trip from Cairo to Alexandria with private driver and admission included. Our tour guide Eslam was terrific! Very polite and respectful of our schedule and preferences, and being a resident of Alexandria, he had in depth knowledge of the history, both modern and ancient. We loved the catacombs, tour of St Mark’s church, and strolling along the Mediterranean to the castle. The Library is expansive with great art included if you have more time to spend. Atmosphere in Alexandria is busy, almost chaotic, but the cool breezes from the sea bring a lot of fresh air and energy to the city. Overall, a great (but long!) one day trip we’re glad we committed to.
The Alexandria tour was very interesting and well worth it! Mohammed was an excellent tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable answering any questions we had. His friendly approach and enthusiasm for sharing his wealth of information made the day most memorable!
Mohammed was an excellent guide - he was very knowledgeable about the different sites we visited, answered everyone's questions, and made sure we had a good time. The entire experience went smoothly, from pick-up to drop-off.
The trip went very smooth and Mohammed gave us a great tour packed with knowledge. He really knows his stuff and has a great attitude. Of course we went by a papyrus shop but when Mohammed realized we weren’t interested we left. Not pushy. The restaurant overlooking the water was good, but felt a little rushed. The driver we had was very efficient too. All in all I would recommend this tour.
Mohammed was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. He made the tour very interesting and I would highly recommend him!
Great trip to Alexandria with great guide Mohammed and great driver Ahmed!
Very nice day trip to Alexandria, can highly recommend it. Visited most of main city highlights including Greek-Roman ruins currently actively excavated.
We had the best guide (Mahmoud) and driver (Mahmoud 2), our experience was enjoyable and we had the chance to experience Alexandria at night as it was the ghost tour. Our guide is knowledgeable and went the extra mile taking us to try sweet couscous with a local street car vendor. Would do it again without a doubt. Maria
The tour was fantastic! Our guide, Mohammed, was amazing. He was very informative and detailed, shared lots of interesting facts with us, and was cheerful and funny throughout the tour. He made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour!
Both Mohammed my guide and Abdo my driver were great. I appreciated the leisurely pace of things, what to be able to move as quickly as I wanted. Say to a good, and lunch was a ton of food.
We were going with tour guide Amir who was just wonderful. He was talking fluently and we could all understand him. He also helped with buying some things from the pharmacy. If I could, I would gladly go again as It was the best tour I have ever been.
Se had a fantastic day with Muhammad. He took us to all the key sites and gave clear information in a fun way. We highly recommend this tour.
Had a great tour with Mohammed. He was extremely knowledgeable and had a great way of imparting that knowledge. The catacombs were very interesting and Mohammed timed the visit brilliantly to avoid the crowds. We went to the Greek/roman excavations which were also very interesting. All the visits were well organised and we were taken care of really well. Would definitely recommend!
As we were staying in Alexandria we took the opportunity to spend a morning at El-Alamein. First we visited the museum which is modern and well laid out. We also visited the nearby Commenwealth Cemetery which was very moving. Then the drive back to Alexandria, for a lovely fish lunch in a local restaurant. Our guide Karim and driver took great care of us throughout and we appreciated all aspects of the day.
I got picked up from the 4 season hotel early, as Alexandria is about 3 hours from Cairo. The tour guide spoke very good english and was very knowledgable. The bus was very clean and the journey was comfortable. I am a solo traveller from the UK and was very well looked after. We saw the Catacombs, The library, Pompeys pillar, the roman amphitheatre and lastly the fortress where the lighthouse of Alexandria was. We then went for lunch where we had delicious fresh seafood in front of the ocean. The trip was very worth the travel and I would recommend it for anyone interested in egyptian and greek/Roman history.
Thank you very much to Mohammed who was our guide today for visiting Alexandria ☺️🙏 The journey was very good. Even if my english is not really good, I finally understand explanations of Mohammed and the visit of Alexandria was very cool 🙏 I recommande Mohammed if you want to discover Alexandria ☺️
Great experience! Our guide, Waleed, was truly amazing: knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The tour covers a lot of different sights and places, but for the most important ones we didn't feel like we were rushing through them. Absolutely worthwhile if you only have one day in Alexandria and want to cover as much as possible!
Mohammed was great. He has a great personality and he is very engaging. He makes history exciting. We loved every second of the tour because of him. You won't make a mistake choosing him for your tour.
We did Alexandria as part of a larger tour with Ramasside. Kerim met us in Alexandria and showed us all the main sites (Library of Alexandria, Fortress, gardens). Kerim was a blast. He was not only knowledgeable he made the trip fun. Drivers were on-time and safe. We did the 2 day option. If you do the main sites, its about 5 hours. So totatlly doable in the one day trip. Staying overnight was nice because our hotel was right on the ocean so after 9 days of 100+ weather it was a nice change.
Booking a tour with Headout to see the sights of Alexandria, Egypt for 7 hours. The cost of the tour included all the entrance fees. Mahmoud was our guide and he is very knowledgeable. His explanation of the history at each site was so informative. Mahmoud is an archaeologist and his Egyptian history is fantastic. This tour is a must do and hopefully you get to meet Mahmoud to enjoy Alexandria.
This is a must do while in Cairo & have a day to spare. This tour makes for a long day but worth it. Mohammed was truly an outstanding tour guide. You can tell he loves what he does. His knowledge of all things Egypt is incredible. Ask for Mohammed. Overall a wonderful tour full of lots of history.
The days we spent in Egypt were full of visits and activities, yet everything was very well organized. Mohamed Basuni was the group supervisor, and he followed our movements and schedule closely and helped resolve any issues that came up during the trip. We also really appreciated that Exodus Travel provided us with free internet throughout the tours, as well as water and snacks. This was very useful, especially while traveling between different places. Thank you to the entire Exodus Travel team for this wonderful experience.
Perfect day with Mohammed, Alexandria Is Great!!!
Mohammed was the best! He was so knowledgeable and clearly loves teaching others. The trip was well planned and showcased Alexandria well for the few hours we had. The bus to and from Alex was also comfortable and convenient. If you want to take day trip from Cairo then this is perfect!
Went on this day trip to Alexandria with a group of friends. It’s a pretty long drive from Cairo, but it was worth it to see the coast, the Catacombs, and the Library. The guide did a good job, and the pickup went smoothly. It’s a very packed and tiring day, so it's a solid 4 stars from us across the board. Good value if you want to see Alexandria quickly in one day.
I had booked a day trip for Aug 31, 2026 from Giza to Alexandria (only car and driver with audio guide). I was apprehensive and was not sure what we were up for. As soon as I had finished my booking the tour operator recommended that having a tour guide is beneficial and I decided to book an english speaking guide. I was relieved when we were contacted the day before with details of the driver etc. The car ( large 12 seater vehicle) with driver came to pick us from our hotel. Our guide met our group in Alexandria and took us around. Unfortunately I can't remember his name however he was excellent. We had a wonderful trip. The guide took us to some places which were not on the list. We visited the Royal Palace green house and it was beautiful. There was an entrance ticket however it was worth it. At the end of the tour, we ended up booking our lunch through our guide. The restaurant by the sea was very good and so was the food. We also met a wonderful young couple from Turkey and we had a great time together. I never used to write reviews however I now realize it is important to provide a review so that future tourists are well informed and not apprehensive. We had a wonderful time. I would book them again without hesitation. I highly recommend tour guides. Mahmoud my contact was excellent in clarifying the details and making our visit a memorable one. Thanks Mahmoud.
We enjoyed our day trip to Alexandria. Mohammad, our guide was wonderful. He is knowledgeable, a good communicator with a good sense of humour. The staff at all monuments visited were helpful and courteous.
Great experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Careful driver and knowledgeable tour guide enhanced our adventure in the City of Alexandria.
Great tour and our driver navigated Egypt streets perfectly! Tour guide Mohamed was fantastic, very knowledgeable and interesting. We would highly recommend this tout
The tour was really interesting. The highlight for us was Salama our guide, who was personable and gave us lots of information, he clearly had a fantastic knowledge of his city and current and ancient history. The communication before our tour was excellent, so we knew exactly where to meet (easy) and even what Salama looked like (useful because it was very busy with lots of tour guides and drivers in the area). Great tour overall for the price.
The driver was nice and kind. But the guide was not good. He seemed saying nice things but doesn’t pay any attention to tourists. Didn’t even care if we have any food allergies for lunch.
Excellent tour of Alexandria with Mohamed. He was very knowledgeable, engaging and had a good sense of humour. Go with him if you get the chance
Very good tour great value for money!!!
The tour guide was great. He was very experienced and knowledgeable. The tour overall was very compact with not much free time to roam around. We did not know it was a group tour and found out right before. We were picked up at 6:30 am. Lunch was at the end of the day which was late. It would be much better if lunch was around noon without such a long gap. We were exhausted. Overall was good!
Very nice trip! Mohamed is the best
Amazing tour with extremely knowledgeable guide and excellent driver.
Such a privilege to be back in Alexandria and to have Mohammed as our guide and Ahmet as our driver. We've covered the major sites of this amazing city today with professionals who have added so very much to our visit. All thanks to both gents.
The driver was able to navigate the roads of Giza and Alexandria to get us to our destination safely. I’m not sure the purpose of going to the library. Look through a fence at the Roman theatre, why didn’t we go inside? Catacombs were very neat but was quick. Why didn’t we get close to the citadel of Qaitbay versus standing along the shore/beach?
Mohammed was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable, he was extremely helpful, excellent English and funny.
The tour to Alexandria with Karim was excellent!!!
Karim the tour guide was the best !! We went to every place with the best historical facts and stories , he is a walking encyclopaedia ! Thank you for the special day ! Also Karam the driver pick me up from Cairo to Alexandria and back , very good guy and very good driver ! See you again guys , thanks for the experience!
Really great trip overall. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable
We really enjoyed the trip with our guide Mohammed and the driver Ahmed. Mohammed has deep and extensive knowledge of archaeology. His English is excellent, and he is friendly and humorous. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Ahmed drove us safely and skilfully through the challenging traffic. Lunch was also excellent, with fresh fish and a beautiful view of the sea. All in all, this was a highly recommended tour.
We booked this experience through viator for a trip to El Alamein and tour of the war cemetery and war museum. From pick up to drop off, our guide Karim was amazing. He pointed out many sites along the way and answered any questions we had. He was an amazing guide and explained everything well at both the cemetery and museum. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great guide to Alamein. Very highly recommended.
