We took the White Desert tour with Roxana Travel and we loved the hot springs and the fennec foxes. The Bahariya oasis hot spring was warm and relaxing. At night a fennec fox visited our camp. Our tour guide Youssef told us to stay quiet. The camping was comfortable and the food was good. We visited Crystal Mountain and the Black Desert. Driver Mohamed was skilled. Itinerary
Day 1
1
The Black Desert spans approximately 30 kilometers in western Egypt, situated between the White Desert to the south and the Bahariya Oasis to the north. This distinctive region is marked by volcano-shaped mounds that are generously spaced. The majority of these mounds exhibit a unique black coloration, attributed to the basalt sills crowning their summits.
The Crystal Mountain stands as a crystalline ridge positioned amidst the Bahariya Oasis and Farafra Oasis.
Established in 2002, White Desert National Park stands as a protected area in Egypt, situated within the Farafra depression, approximately 45 km north of the town of Farafra. Spanning into the Farafra Oasis in the New Valley Governorate, the park boasts extensive white chalk rock formations shaped by the forces of wind and sand erosion. Notable features include cliffs at the northern edge of the Farafra Depression, sand dunes belonging to the Great Sand Sea, and Wadi Hennis, alongside oases like Ain El Maqfi and Ain El Wadi. El Qess Abu Said marks the park's highest point at 353 meters above sea level, while Wadi Hennis represents its lowest point at 32 meters. Serving as a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, the park is home to endangered species such as the Rhim gazelle and vulnerable creatures like the Dorcas gazelle, Barbary sheep, jackals, Rüppell's, Red, and Fennec foxes, as well as Sand cats.

I took my two kids on the 2 day White Desert tour and they loved the white chalk formations. They looked like giant mushrooms and chickens. Our guide Mona let them climb on the safe ones. We visited Crystal Mountain and they collected sparkly rocks. The Black Desert was interesting with its dark volcanic stones. The Bahariya oasis had a hot spring and they swam in it. The camping was fun and they slept in a tent for the first time. The 4x4 was comfortable and had AC. The whole 2 days were educational and fun. Admission fee was reasonable for the tour. Length of visit was 2 days. Atmosphere was family friendly and adventurous. Crowd size was about 10 people in our group. Staff were great with children. Best for families with curious kids. Yasser had given them a desert activity book.
The best part of this trip was realizing that the landscape itself was the main attraction. The White Desert is unlike anywhere I had been before, with strange white formations spread across an enormous desert landscape. The Black Desert provided a completely different view, and visiting Bahariya Oasis added a nice contrast to the desert scenery. I enjoyed having enough time to stop, explore and take photos instead of simply passing through. The overnight camping was another highlight, especially when the desert became quiet after sunset. The organization of the two-day trip also made things comfortable, with private transportation, meals and camping included. It felt more like an adventure than a standard sightseeing tour. A great choice for anyone who wants to experience Egypt's natural side and see landscapes that are very different from Cairo.
Landscapes of wonder and beauty. Other chalk rock formations, shaped by wind and time, were a sight to behold. Our guide's enthusiasm for the desert and its beauty. The unique features made the experience informative and entertaining, providing a deeper understanding of this natural masterpiece, and camping under the vast desert sky, surrounded by the silent beauty of the white desert, was a serene and unforgettable experience
Located on golden sands, the landscape looks out of this world. Our guide's narration and experience brought the history of the area to life, adding layers of meaning to our exploration. Camping under the twinkling stars in this mystical place was a night of wonder and magic that I will never forget
A tour to explore the White Desert in Cairo is an adventure of a lifetime that left me amazed. It created stark white chalk valleys against a backdrop of secret desert landscapes. We have our guide and his ambition to reach creativity and beauty, as we are characterized by a vision of value about historical identity and cultural significance, and it was under the starry desert sky in the midst of this natural experience that is unforgettable!!!
Exploring Cairo White Desert on a tour trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that left me in awe of nature's artistry. The surreal landscape of white chalk formations, set against the golden hues of the desert, created a scene of ethereal beauty and tranquility. Spending a night camping in this magical setting, surrounded by the silence of the desert and the beauty of the rock formations, was a truly transformative experience that rejuvenated my spirit
