I had a wonderful experience at Mayrig. The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and every dish was prepared with great care. I would like to express my disappointment with the service provided by the staff in the outdoor lobby seating area, which was previously used as the World Cup viewing area. Date 03/07 afternoon shift It is truly unfortunate that such an experience took place at what is supposed to be one of the best hotels in Cairo. A luxury hotel is not defined only by its facilities—it is defined by its people, their professionalism, and the way they treat guests. Sadly, the attitude of the staff completely undermined the reputation of the hotel. Instead of welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, the staff were unfriendly, appeared to judge guests by scanning them from head to toe, and seemed almost pleased to inform people that the area was fully booked. Even as a hotel guest accompanied by a visitor, I was not treated with the courtesy or respect that should be expected from a five-star IHG property. The team working in this area clearly needs additional training in hospitality, guest relations, etiquette, and professional communication. Front-facing employees represent the hotel and should always greet guests with a smile, show respect, and make every interaction pleasant, even when they are unable to accommodate a request. If someone lacks these essential hospitality skills, they would be better suited to a back-office role rather than one involving direct guest interaction. As an IHG member, I expected a level of service that reflects the brand's reputation for excellence. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below those expectations. I sincerely hope hotel management takes this feedback seriously, reviews the conduct of the staff involved, and ensures that all guests receive the high standard of service and courtesy that a luxury hotel should consistently provide. I will also be forwarding this feedback to IHG, as I believe this issue deserves their attention.
