Tully River Full-day Rafting: Cairns, Mission Beach Or Self-drive

Excellent experience!! Big shout out to Sam who was our instructor. He helped keep the day full of fun and adventure. Would highly recommend to locals and visitors.

The guides are very experienced, giving instructions at the right timing. There is no worry at all. They make sure you are well prepared.

This was one of our favourite experiences here in North Queensland. Firstly our guides Izzy and Paul were very experienced and great fun. Paul especially was our raft captain and deserves a special mention. The tully area itself was well worth the trip from Cairns or from anywhere. The area is un touched and one of the nicest places we have ever been. The rafting itself was so good. Please do this tour if your thinking about it. You won't regret it. Only thing it could improve is the dinner but that wasn't too bad either. Grab some extra snacks and you'll be fine

Excellent day out. The best day we spent in Cairns. Would do it again 100%. Totally underrated and one of the best ways to see genuine nature. Do not miss you will regret not going!

A spectacular experience. I honestly can’t rate this highly enough! This topped all experiences in cairns including the Great Barrier Reef. Our guide Sean could not have been better and it is an experience you do not want to miss 1000/10.

A different way to view the rainforest. So many waterfalls, volcanic formations and majestic giants of the forest to view. The guided tour just happens to be hurling you down the Tully River while you enjoy working as a team to battle White water rapids. Special mention to Dazza our guide and our rafting team. Thank for the laughs. We had a great time. Would do it again sometime.

I would highly recommend this trip for people who loves adventure. A big shout-out to Rocky. He gave us the chance to try different activities and enjoy plenty of exciting moments, while keeping everyone safe. We would definitely come back again if we get the chance!

I took my 15 year old son, he hac been previously but I had never rafted. We had Danimal as our guide and he was fantastic, we had a great day and would do it again and recommend to anyone.

Great fun on the water! Rocky kept the vibe going from the minute we got on the bus and all the way down the river. Endlessly entertaining and his knowledge of the local ecosystem was surprising in its detail. Rocky was proactive with safety, including radioing ahead for an extra thermal layer as my friend was really feeling the cold. Highly recommended. Great fun! Bribe someone to get into Rocky’s raft. You’ll thank me later.

What an amazing experience on the Tully River! The rafting was so much fun from start to finish. The guides were highly trained, professional, and made everyone feel safe and confident while still keeping the adventure exciting. The scenery along the river was absolutely stunning, with beautiful rainforest views and crystal-clear water adding to the experience. The whole team was friendly, organised, and passionate about what they do. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure in Far North Queensland, I highly recommend Tully River rafting. A fantastic day out and definitely a highlight of our trip!

Well organised, great fun and excellent guides with a lot of attention to safety. The meal at the end was subpar. I would have preferred they distributed snacks and got back to Cairns earlier as it's a very long day. (Of course, this is where they pitch the ($59!!) photos.) The river fee should be included in the price not collected on the bus with a surcharge. I imagine they don't want to include it as it would make the price too expensive.

Jack was our guide, he killed it! Great trip, best white water rafting trip I have ever been on! 2 hr ride was so worth it. Food and watching the slides afterward at the pub, great way to end the day!

Amazing and thrilling rafting, great amount of rapids to paddle through Erin was a great guide, made us feel safe in the raft , but made the whole river journey so much fun, this tour is the one thing I would definitely rebook

My husband and I decided to do White Water Rafting rather than a trip to the Barrier Reef as the weather was a little unsettled. We had a fantastic day with Raging Thunder Adventures. Everything was well organised and the staff were very friendly and professional. This was our 2nd time White Water Rafting, the first was in Nepal. We would highly recommend the Tully River as the water is beautiful, the rapids are so much fun and the scenery down the river is spectacular. We were blessed to have Dazza as our guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with him, he was so knowledgeable, personable and professional. After the day’s adventures we had a meal at a country pub on the way back to Cairns. We thoroughly recommend this experience.

We had an absolute blast. Our guide, Julian, was a gem! Funny, confident, and knowledgeable! My dad (81) loved it too. Would do it again in a heart beat!

The best rafting trip I have ever booked. The rapids were very challenging giving us an adrenaline rush every few minutes. The scenery is beautiful, the water temperature was cool but not that cold that you cant swim. Our guide Jack gave us almost military training before we left which provided us with the skills to challenge the very strong 13km river currents. Great battered fish and chip meal at the pub. An another big plus capturing all the moments for us in the pictures they sold. Well done guys we really had a good time. Highly recommend it.

Glad to have Paul as our guide, he is not only professional, but also very encouraging and funny. We were pretty nervous the day before but everything went smoothly! Overall an exciting but safe raft ride! Would recommend everyone to try

Fantastic trip from start to finish. We had Sean as our guide on the boat and he was terrific. Besides being a great boatman, he also had lot of knowledge of the locality. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting North Queensland.

Be ready to "rock" and roll down the Tully. Literally! As we were told, getting wet is not optional on the river, mate.

Did barron river a couple of days ago and not impressed but this on the tully was in a class of its own absolutely brilliant, its better than the pictures they show and very exciting all the time rafting, ended up having nearly 3 hours rafting and did a long distance. The staff doing the trip were experienced as they had been doing it for many years and were very good at giving you the best time of your life. This is not for unfit people as you really have to work at it too get the best trip out of it. Can't remember names of crew but they definitely put 100% in to the experience

Thrill packed activity! The actual rafting was well organised & a fun filled, physical experience. & hence the 5 stars. BUT booking via Viator doesn’t make clear that despite a 10am pick up you won’t be in the water until about 2:30pm - long journey & that the ‘ taxes’ which are excluded from the cost shown are $30 per person. Meal in pub afterwards is also poor. However we loved the rafting. Book direct& visit their website site for full info.

Good fun. No place to shower after trip. Bring big towel to cover yourself so you can change outdoor after boat ride

I’ve been lucky enough to whitewater raft in a few countries and this by far was the most wiping experience. They have a huge team of precessional who can accommodate any skill level of rafter. Our guy Paul was an absolute legend. He was super professional and incredible personal. Took time to get to know everyone and really go above and beyond to make it a great experience outside of the already gnarly rapids. Most underrated day trip from Cairns and well worth the extra time over Barron Falls.

Our full-day rafting experience on the Tully River with Adventure Group was absolutely incredible. The whole day felt so genuine – challenging in the best possible way, while at the same time we always felt 100% safe. It was insanely fun, and the guides were extremely professional and knowledgeable. We had such a great group, and I really want to give a huge thank you to the entire crew – especially our raft guides Paul and Jake, who truly took the experience to the next level. They were highly experienced, taught us so much, and created an amazing atmosphere on the raft. Everyone worked together as a team, pushing through the rapids, supporting each other, and sharing countless adrenaline-filled moments. I’ve done a lot of activities during my time in Australia, but this was without a doubt one of the most powerful and memorable experiences. Add to that the stunning natural surroundings and nonstop excitement – it doesn’t get better than this. Highly, highly recommended!

What a great day! From the bus ride up to the start of the rafting where Pauly gave us a full briefing of the day, what to expect, what we needed, where to put our stuff etc, we could tell we were in good hands. Our guide was Rocky and he was awesome. For the majority of our group it was their first time rafting and some were pretty nervous and he was patient and understanding. He repeated the safety briefing and instructions more than once where necessary and helped the younger members with their paddling. Once we got through the first set of rapids everyone was feeling much more confident and we had such a good day! Rocky navigated us down with ease and everyone loved swimming down the waterfall. We would thoroughly recommend this to everyone, even if you are feeling a bit nervous. Such a great sense of achievement when we finished and my brother wants to come back to Australia just to do it again!

I was there with 28 young people on a group trip. Had an amazing time, and haven’t laughed so much in a while, on top of the adrenaline. Had an amazing guide named Marco! Did an amazing job and made sure the girlies I was with, was feeling safe, Shared fun story’s, small talked and was just the biggest vibe. In the best way possible. Would 100% recommend!

We had the best day rafting out on the Tully!! Hayden and Johnny are the best guides ever, they were so funny and knowledgeable. We felt so safe in their hands. Couldn’t recommend this experience more and I hope you get Hayden or Johnny when you do it!!

This was my first white water rafting experience, and words will not do it justice! What an amazing experience with a fabulous crew of people. It was so much fun!! After the first safety briefing, I questioned whether I had made the right decision, and then after the second briefing, I was really unsure. I shouldn't have worried. The crew were next level at their jobs and clearly love what they do. They were magnificent. Making sure we had the best time, with heaps of banter and jokes all round. They sure know their job and do it SO well. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. The perfect mix of adrenalin and fun,

I had a great day with my teenage boys white water rafting on the Tully River. The drive was longer than we expected, but once we were in the water, we forgot about that. We had so much fun, you honestly couldn’t wipe the smile off our faces the whole time. The instructors made us feel safe and were knowledgeable and friendly. An excellent day! Just remember to pack some snacks, plenty of water and insect repellant.

Joined the full day Tully river rafting. The crew were very friendly and experienced. I have two teenage kids and the guide (Izzy) encouraged them to try stuff like swimming in the river, sitting right at the front of the raft. I had been to a few rafting trip and this is so far the best. My kids have the same thought too.

Marketed as an “all day river rafting” but reality was 4+ hours driving and weak search for a lunch and inedible dinner and 2.5 hours river rafting.

Fantastic afternoon ride!. Water was great, guides were pro, and the views were unforgettable. Pure adrenaline rush!

Awesome amazing experience. Was the highlight of our trip. Did it 30+ years ago on my honeymoon now did it again with my 24yr old son. Loved floating down the river in the majestic rainforest , down the exciting rapids and under an intense waterfall! Thank you Dan for looking after us.

It is a fair bit of travelling from Cairns and back, but wow what an experience when you get on the Tully River. It is a real adrenaline rush, but do take out extra insurance as a precaution as level 4 rapids require an additional level of protection. The staff were brilliant and the experience was both a challenge but exhilarating. We were a little apprehensive before going as we are all of a certain age, but the briefings and explanation of how to deal with all scenarios were explained. A real fun day out with a hearty meal at the end. Great fun.

This has to be one of the best days in Cairns. Beautiful scenery with exhilarating activities. They run a professional show. My family loved it
