I would save your money and book elsewhere; it was far too crowded which generated a less than ideal experience for others. I’ve been to other dive tours in Cairns and will most likely not be back to Diver’s Den nor recommend to others—there are other companies out there in Cairns who can provide a better, more organised and less unsafe and rushed experience. In addition to this, I was verbally and physically intimidated by one of their dive staff, while he pressured and encouraged another diver to carry on and subsequently cause ear damage. I have written a feedback email to them with no response. The Great Barrier Reef is beautiful, don’t let Diver’s Den give you an average experience in an amazing location :)

Amazing experience! The team was very kind, friendly, and supportive. We had a great time and lots of fun in the water — many thanks to Hoi ♥️ She was incredibly supportive and informative, telling us about the different fish we saw on the reef while snorkelling. Overall, the trip was very well organised and professional. There was a great mix of experienced scuba divers, introductory divers, and snorkelling participants, so everyone felt welcome. We were also the only group on the reef, so it never felt crowded at all and made the experience even more enjoyable. The hot soup and warm-water shower were especially appreciated after spending more than an hour in the water. We even saw a whale breaching on the way to the reef, which was an incredible bonus! 🐋 We’ll definitely try the overnight liveaboard on OceanQuest next time. Highly recommended! 🤿 🌊

We had a great experience at the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkel and diving were amaizing. We particularly appreciate Valentina's kindness with our kids. That made a huge difference for our family.

We had a fantastic experience completing our PADI course. A special thank you to our instructor, Romaine Lalandre, who was exceptionally patient, calm and encouraging throughout. He took the time to explain things clearly and created a relaxed atmosphere that really built our confidence. His teaching style would be especially well suited to people who appreciate a thoughtful, unhurried, mature approach to learning. His calm professionalism made a huge difference, and we couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Highly recommended!

We spent one night 2 days aboard with Divers Den. Both the boat you travel on and the one you stay on with great. We had a huge room with lovely views and a decent bathroom. The food was good and the staff were so helpful. We did loads of dives including a fantastic Floro night dive where we saw sharks and loads of amazing coral. Highly recommend!

I went in late Feb 2026. The first night was very quiet and only 23 guests so we had a very relaxed atmosphere. Viz wasn't great due to the rains in Cairns and at night but the waters were very calm and overall it was fun diving and lots to see. Crew worked hard with efficient dive briefings and managing the tasks. Always felt safe and looked after, the crew also have good humour and were always keen to tell us what was around in the ocean. Big shoutout to: Anna G (dive deck supervisor), Captain Josh and Engineer Sam plus chef Taylor and the whole hospitality (unpaid) team led by Zach then Kelly. Shoutout to my buddies and guides (I usually pay for a bunch of dives and also do some unguided buddy dives): Connor (lots of nudis), Felix (scorpion fish and lots of nudis), Luuc (night dive) and Thom (we saw the eagle ray) and Thea (night dive). Also shoutout to all the others I didn't dive with but chatted to and also found interesting things to show us: Sol, Dom, Mika, Brigitte, Gautam, Gonzalo. Finally shoutout to the transfer crew on Seaquest led by Neah and Capt Sarah (all ladies in the team!) and then the transfer crew on Aquaquest led by Mario and Capt Angus plus Sandi, Philippos etc. Special thanks to Thom and Brigitte who spent one night making freshly baked cinnamon scrolls with cream cheese sauce for brekkie the next morning. Recomendation: please consider Shark Mountain as a site to visit. I've been there with buddies often and it's amazing.

I participated in this through the 4-day Open Water Diver Certification course. Scuba-diving has been one of my top goals for a long time, but, it was also something that I held a lot of anxiety and fear around. I eventually chose to do it with Devils Den and I cannot recommend Catalina, Laura, & Jacob enough. Due to schedule changes, I had these 3 Scuba Instructors throughout the experience. Catalina is professional and inspiringly-strong in her demeanor and instruction. Laura is remarkably compassionate, warm, and thoughtful in her approach - seeing the best in people and being a light. Jacob has a relaxed, truly fair-dinkum, and comfortable way to his care. Collectively, they made the scuba diving come together for me to be successful in earning my certification. I am really appreciative of their authentically good energy and time, especially during busy holiday season. They stood out incredibly well. It’s clear how much training and intention goes into selecting the crew and ensuring such a meaningful and organized process is followed. Thank you again for the opportunity to be on board!

I booked the open water PADI course with an overnight on SeaQuest, and I cannot recommend it enough. For the course I was so lucky to have Laura as my instructor. I'm sure all the instructors are great but Laura is NEXT LEVEL. She is so experienced, calm and cool in the water and incredible at giving instructions and directions on how to do all the skills. She is also just an insanely rad person and you'll have so much fun with her in the pool and on the dives. You will never be nervous getting in the water for the first time with Laura as your instructor. Her enthusiasm and level of stoke for her students shines through from the beginning and you are so prepared for the final dive to become certified. I also cannot say better things about Laura or the overnight experience. The food was fantastic & delicious, the crew is awesome and the dive sites are beautiful. And the people onboard are so friendly.

Five Day, Two Night PADI Open Water Course I completed my PADI Open Water Certificate with Divers Den in Cairns and had an absolutely amazing experience! Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. Each day, we were conveniently picked up on time from our hostel or hotel (no private accommodations). The first two days were spent in the pool learning all the theory and practicing essential diving skills. I was lucky to be in a small group, which meant everyone got plenty of attention and support. As a first-time diver, I always felt safe and confident throughout the training. A special highlight was my instructor, Laura. She’s an absolute sunshine — patient, calm, and incredibly supportive. She explained everything clearly, encouraged questions, and took her time to demonstrate and practice each skill until everyone felt comfortable. Even later in the open water dives, she always made sure we were all good and progressing well. I’m so grateful to have had her as my instructor! Thanks again Laura x The liveaboard experience was just as impressive. Three days and two nights on the Great Barrier Reef! The crew was super friendly, the food was delicious, and the twin cabins were clean and comfortable. Waking up surrounded by the ocean and diving right into the reef was unforgettable. Overall, this was an outstanding experience that I’ll never forget. I can 100% recommend Divers Den to anyone wanting to get certified or simply explore the Great Barrier Reef safely and with lots of fun!

My partner and I just got our padi open water certificate with Divers Den, and the over all experience was amazing. All the staff were super nice. It is definitely a 5 stars experience. Our instructor, Laura from Denmark, was an insanely great teacher:) You can really feel her strong passion for diving and for the great barrier reef. She made the whole journey enjoyable. No matter your comfort level in water, she'll make you feel safe and encourage you:) I Can only give her the highest recommendation.

Disappointing. Trip out to the Reef was awful. Conditions at the Reef were unsuitable for snorkeling due to the wind. (Ok for Divers ss they are below the surface). Stopped at 1 reef, not 2, due to the weather (not that it affected me as I didn't enter the water). Trip back to Cairns was awful. Should have been told about conditions beforehand, with option to cancel. Waste of money...

What an amazing crew! Nia and Lucas were so accommodating, making my scuba diving experience a memory of a lifetime I put Nia through the ringer and she still said I was her favorite, made me feel really good inside. Lucas got me going again after a little rough patch - thank you! My diving in Adelaide with the Leafy Sea Dragons was a success because you got me back on the proverbial seahorse. I'm ready to come back tomorrow! Or as soon as I can save up the money again ;) Micki had housekeeping running like a fine-tuned machine. Food was different every meal, keeping us looking forward to digging in. Thank you to the cooks! The live-aboard boat was spacious and beds were comfortable. My only complaint would be that the bathroom often smelled a bit like sewage was coming up from the floor drain. But you're on a dive boat, not a luxury yacht. It would have also been nice if we had a dive photographer on the boat who could have taken pictures while I was diving. I hate trying to take video and pictures when all I want to do is experience the moment. But this is a nice to have. Lesson learned for me though - don't try to put your fins on while sitting on a rope attached to a rocking boat. Just get in the water and ask for help to get them on. I twisted my knee half way through the trip and that put me into snorkel mode only. But honestly, the snorkeling was great! In some ways better than diving because the sun made all the corals, fish and sea anemones look so vibrant.

A fantastic tour. Deanna was an excellent instructor and guide. We had such a good time, loads of great dive sites and yummy meals to come back to. Great cabins and atmosphere.

Excellent staff. This tour takes you to two great locations to snorkel and see the reef. The lunch and morning and afternoon snacks were great also.

Brilliant diving with a terrific young crew who were very attentive to our needs. Gear was good quality. Lunch was tasty.

Three of us (2 divers and one snorkeller) had a wonderful time with the Divers Den team. The whole day ran smoothly, the team were very professional but totally approachable and fun to be with. We were lucky that there were only 17 on the boat in perfect weather conditions which made it a very sociable day. Thanks to All the team

Today (February 16th) was amazing. The staff are fantastic, very friendly,gave excellent briefings and were patient and considerate towards us. The boat is very comfortable and purpose built. We had drinks and an excellent lunch, plus welcome snacks when we had finished our activities. The experience of snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef is one we shall cherish forever. The fish and coral are out of this world, and we never expected so many different species. It was made so memorable by the diversden staff. Many thanks to you all.

This was part of the About Australia tour package. The crew from Divers Den was great. They all made the experience very enjoyable and safe. I’d like to give a special shout out to Adam who picked us up at the resort and went with as a part of the crew. He gave all kind of information about where to go and what to do while staying in Port Douglas from personal experiences. He was also very passionate about the Great Barrier Reef, and its eco system. He gave a great presentation after the dives about different fishes we saw, and other fishes we should have seen. I highly recommend this trip as a must do when visiting Port Douglas.

Adam, Coco, Peleg, Michael and the others were awesome! They were very helpful and patience in teaching how to snorkel. When they saw a special fish, they made sure to call us over to see it. Then there was the food! Wow! Didn't realize it was going to be such a great lunch! They even provided a snack for on the way back to shore. And there was a little surprise, that you will have to find out on your own :)

Wonderful experience and cheap for being in Australia. Friendly staff and complimentary snorkel guide, not big crowd.

Everything very well organised, impeccable service and great staff! I did 2 dives with Roman and another 4 or 5 certified divers on Dec 26th and all went seamlessly. Well, except for the getting seasick part... :)) Which reminds me: do take the seasickness pill, even if you think you don't need it.

Amazing day out on the reef with Divers Den. Facilities and gear were A1. Fab crew - friendly, confident and very knowledgeable. Hat tip to Roman, who made our day! Had unlimited time and keen spotting skills to share with us - found reef sharks, turtles, Dory, Nemo and much more, then spent the trip home showing our 11 & 12yos through charts, books and guides - answering their unlimited questions. Definitely a priceless experience. Thanks Roman!

Great staff onboard.. very professional overall the safety briefings and guides. Dive sites well located due to prevailing weather conditions. My party was a cert diver and a snorkeler so this package was excellent. Dives on the reef were awesome with plentiful fish to observe from sharks and turtles to rays and shoals of tree lions. Food was great and well organized. Nothing was too much trouble from the staff and Adam was great co ordinating the whole fun experience. Definitely a return adventure.

Great staff even better destinations. We have done snorkelling on the reef a few times but this was one of the best. We saw sharks, a turtle and loads of fish. The snorkelling guide knew her stuff and we were super chuffed to see so much. The meal was yummy and the boat was modern and clean and not over packed with tourists so it gave you a more personable experience. Impressed that Adam remembers everyone's names and greets you with a smile and makes you feel very comfortable.

We searched for a less mainstream boat for a one day cruise at the Great Bareer Reef. Divers Den has an amazing crew, very nice and open people and reliable. We went for our first diving experience with them and even though I have proved to be a slow student, they always gave me all the reasons to feel safe and to keep going. We had an amazing day at the Great Bareer Reef, saw the corals and fish in all their splendour. The boat looks great, they also offered a lot of food, fruits and drinks and made us feel very welcomed. I totally recommend them.

Took our two boys 12 and 14 out to the reef for the first time. Both did 2 introduction dives with the crew outstanding instructors and crew. My wife and I both did 3 divers and had blast. Thanks guys we will be back next time we are in Port Douglas.

We had a fantastic time at the reefs with the team. Everyone very knowledge and helpful. Our guide Woody was very friendly and the experience really got us interested in further exploring the area.

Such a wonderfull trip to the great barrier reef. It's worth the price and I recommend it to everyone. Great staff and great diving and snorkeling. We really enjoyed our trip and would do it again at every time!!

If you are going to put that many people on a boat you need to have the staff to back you up. Being told to gear up for a dive and then having to wait close to half an hour while suited up, really! Next dive_ being told 5 minutes before your next dive, 30 seconds later being told can you clear the dive deck for others, go up stairs, one minute after that can you come down and gear up? Relying on young people on a travelling holiday to be the bulk of your staff, I can think of better ways of doing it. The friendliest part of the day is high fives as you get off the boat.

Really well run excursion. The crew was fantastic, as was the boat. Colleen & Amber were in the water with our family and deserve special mention - they made the experience truly special by sharing their knowledge and passion for the reef ... We saw an abundance of marine life and when we don’t have our 7yr old with us we will be back to dive with this company. First rate experience from start to finish!

My friend and I, a first-time diver and a certified diver, spent two days with Aqua Quest Port Douglas and absolutely loved it. Every single member of the crew was amazing! They provided vegetarian and vegan food options for us and went out of their way to ensure we were well fed throughout the whole day. They even took into consideration the places we visited on the first day so we could get the best experience of different dive sites! They were very safety conscious, scheduled the dives and snorkelling well and were just fantastic people. We had so much fun and would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you!!

Booked with these guys on the recommendation of another company in the area. It was a brilliant day from start to finish. The boat itself is really lovely, with an excellent sun deck on top and plenty of space in the indoor areas. The showers were a wonderful feature - so nice to not be totally covered in salt at the end of the day! The snorkelling sites chosen were brilliant and absolutely teeming with life. The crew members we went out with (Amber and Frederico) were super friendly and very knowledgeable, taking lots of time to point out different marine life and give us interesting facts. On the journey back at the end of the day Amber even came and had a chat offering even more fascinating facts about some of the things we’d seen. Overall a great team of people, clearly all passionate about what they’re doing and very invested in ensuring you have a wonderful experience. Nice as well that it wasn’t as big and busy as some of the other outfits. Our snorkel group had maybe a dozen people and two instructors which is a great ratio. The dive groups seemed similar.

We had the best experience diving and snorkeling with Divers Den on AquaQuest!!! The staff was the perfect combination of professional and fun, and made sure our party of certified divers, intro divers and snorkelers had the best time. Special shoutout to Woody who was with my brother and I - thank you for showing us the reef for the first time!!! We’ll be back and highly recommend this tour and company!

We had such a wonderful day out with Divers Den/AquaQuest. The crew were extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. Stef our dive guide was amazing and made us feel extremely well taken care of on all of our 3 dives. We saw some great marine life as well! Food and service was really great as well. 100% would recommend booking with this company. We’ll be back!

We were greeted by really friendly crew that made us feel welcome all day. The boat is comfortable and clean, the dive equipment all new and good quality. We saw black and white reef sharks, blue spotted ray, enormous puffer fish and a hilarious female parrot fish protecting her coral. The two reef sites were right on the outer edge with stunning corals with plenty of time to explore them. Lunch was delicious with a good variety and plenty to eat. To top off a sensational day they offered a free wine and cheese on the way back into Port Douglas!

The best boat I have been out on in Port Douglas. Boat is very clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful, cannot fault them. Made for a fantastic day snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef.

Me and my boyfriend did this tour on our first day in Port Douglas. Despite the weather being stormy and the sea being choppy, our dive was amazing! Our instructor Woody made us feel so calm considering it was our first dive. He was very informative and made us feel really safe. It has made us want to go and get our PADI’s! Great day out and would love to do again

Highly recommend this friendly, safe and informative trip out onto the Barrier Reef. The staff were excellent and the food and service was brill. Special mention for Roman who provided great information and reassurance and looked after us (nervous divers!) patiently on our dive. He took time out and chatted to us after the dive about what we had seen and then took my 16year old son out for a second “awesome” dive. Boat comfortable and clean and not overcrowded, plenty of good food available, lots of helpful staff and bonus to have a hot shower after being in the sea. Most importantly they knew where to go to see some amazing sights on the Reef. Thanks for a great day!!

Great to experience my first ever Scuba dive with these guys at the Great Barrier Reef. Thorough and clear briefings, step by step diving, snorkelling, fully catered, hot fresh water showers on board and super friendly crew. Aquaquest is a pretty new boat, fresh and clean with lots of outside space and room for its passengers. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience, I had such a great time doing 3 cert dives that I called back the next day and booked another day trip with them. The crew were wonderful, very friendly and professional. You could tell that they are passionate about marine conservation, which made the experience so much better. My dive guides were Frederico and Roman, both were wonderful and made my dives so enjoyable and memorable. The boat was really comfortable, food was excellent, it was a very pleasant experience. I have been out on the reef with a couple of different boats, but this was by far the best! The day was so well organised and planned out that I never felt rushed between my dives and even had plenty of time for lunch.The safety briefings were very thorough, and Eleanora's marine talk was highly informative. Overall it was an excellent experience, highly recommended!

This was a wonderful experience that has changed my life. I never imagined that I would have the courage to go scuba diving. Woody (aka Waut) was my instructor and he was a perfect match for me. He was patient and encouraging. I felt save with him. The dive was incredible! It was an amazing adventure that my husband and I plan to continue doing. Woody has made me love the underwater world! The whole staff onboard was extremely friendly and funny. Eleonora and Charlotte were very sweet and fun to chat with. The whole trip was truly perfect. The gear was clean and in great condition. The boat was very comfortable and had plenty of space for all to relax and even sun bathe.

What a great experience- highly recommend! Eleonora and Coline took me for my first scuba dive - they're wonderful instructors. Tremendous experience seeing our beautiful marine park up close. This is a must-do and these guys are great!
