Very engaging tour. Full of interesting tidbits and lovely stops to really view animals. Saw crocodiles, turtles, fish and many birds. We went on last trip of the day, it wasn’t too busy and left space to move and get the views and shots you wanted. It was a great way to finish the day.

Fantastic cruise and Andrew was so informative
A wonderful trip up the river with Gary, who was great fun and super knowledgeable! Would recommend to anyone. We saw crocs and turtles!!
The tour is very well organised by a highly dedicated team who clearly enjoy their work. Perhaps I’d expected more from the snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef; there weren’t that many beautiful corals to see, and I’d also expected a greater variety and number of fish. I wouldn’t spend the money on this snorkelling tour again, but that’s not the tour operator’s fault.
A greasy, relaxing and informative 45 minute boat ride. Our young grandkids wanted to see some crocodiles and this was a cheap option. Andrew, our guide was knowledgeable and the grandkids were wrapped that they saw 2 freshies!
informative commentary and good knowledge of the area. Saw quite a few crocodiles and learned about the local flora and wildlife
This was a fantastic way to get great insight and knowledge into the habitat and creatures along the Kuranda River. Our guide was outstanding, passionate and knowledgable about the history and inhabitants along the river. Seeing the turtles was wonderful and gaining more insight into the behaviour of the small Crocs was really educatonal. Well worth the investment of dollars and time. :)
Great little trip . Very informative and tour guide was 10/10. Highly recommend.
Our riverboat tour guide (Andrew) did a fantastic job in pointing out and discussing the wildlife and providing historical and local information.
Had a great time, operator was very informative, relaxing cruise in the river. Saw a lot of wildlife. The only drawback was the amount of stairs to get back to the car parking area,. Would highly recomend
Great experience, the guide was excellent and we learnt a lot and saw a lot sea snake, turtles, little crocodiles, birds etc. Only thing there are a lot of stairs to get to the wharf.
Fantastic experience, both operator was very knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer questions. Thank you so much.
We really enjoyed the cruise, the guide was fantastic funny friendly.
I saw many crocs, turtles, fish and bird. best commentary of any tour i've done in 3 weeks and $$$ of dollars of experiences. The captain was excellent with so many cool facts. would definitely do it again
Very informative and interesting
A lovely little tour, definitely worth doing. You get to see a very different viewpoint than the skyrail, train or riverside walk, accompanied by a family of Welcome Swallows. Our guide Andrew was really knowledgeable and friendly. We could have stayed all day!
A very nice ride down the river, saw some fresh water crocs and heaps of turtles and fish. Learnt a lot about the rainforest and history about the area and river. Guide was very knowledgeable and great value for money :)
This turned out to be one of the best, relaxing little getaways of our trip up north! Calm, relaxing, informative, and fun! Gary was absolutely awesome as our boat guide. I actually could have hung out on the boat all afternoon! Well worth the trip!
Can’t recommend this tour enough. 45mins went way too fast listening to all the fun facts about the rainforest and local wildlife. Warren the tour guide is amazing with information and we could have listened to him all day.
Warren was full of life and knowledge and made our cruise one of the best we have experienced. The local knowledge and wildlife were exceptional.
Amazing tour, our guide was exceptional with information and the experience, highly reccomend
The Kuranda Riverboat tour is a short 45 minute tour of the Barron River where the boat driver provides some commentary around the rainforest area and fauna in the vicinity. If you're looking for crocs you may be disappointed. We did see one basking but being a freshwater croc it was small in comparison to what expectations of size may. There were many turtles waiting for food at a designated spot along with fish. I think overpriced for what it was and not very adventurous. Maybe best left for Bus Tour options rather than couples.
A fantastic morning cruise with Gary. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A great way to see a slice of rainforest wildlife in Kuranda
This riverboat cruise was one of the highlights of the cruise. 45mins went much too fast. It was awesome to feed the fish and turtles and see crocodiles in the wild. Gary was an awesome guide ! Informative and entertaining
We came to Cairns to celebrate a 50th and Gary was amazing!!! He made the whole experience enjoyable, really engaged with us - we were laughing most of the boat ride. And he came up with the goods - we saw 2 saltwater crocodiles…for me it has been a highlight of the trip as I wanted to see one in the wild. Thank you for this beautiful tour you do and a big thank you to Gary!!!!
Gary was extremely knowledgeable and easily passed on information with a good sense of humor. Great bang for buck. Highly recommend.
This is a short tour of the river. The captain is friendly and knowledgeable and enjoys sharing this wonderful area with his guests. He tells some of the history of Kuranda and gives much information about the wildlife and plant life. The boat is stable and comfortable enough for the tour. We especially enjoyed knowing more about the bird life surrounding us.
Great!!! Saw crocodiles, turtles, fish and unique birds. Great narrative by the boat owner. Definitely worth the price🐊
Perfect tour to go with the family, Andrew was great, he explained lots of things about the rainforest and the river.
A great little boat trip with opportunities to see wildlife such as freshwater crocodiles, turtles and lots of birds. Guide gave us lots of information about the river and its history as well as the adjacent rainforest. Booking process was very flexible, with short notice changes possible (subject to availability). Would definitely recommend.
It was a lifetime experience. I went with little children and thoroughly enjoyed. The captain of the boat is so kind and generous, he took time to answer our questions and explain everything nicely. It was a rainy day, however the trip was smooth and forever remembering! We would 100%recommend and visit again.
Fantastic eye- opening mini excursion on the River . Great guide ( Gary) knowledgeable and super enthusiastic.
Great trip, very informative and friendly guide.
Great experience - kids loved feeding the turtles!
Excellent tour and I have enjoyed a lot during my trip: discovered wild life on the river bank and leaned history about Gold rush time!
Worth the price to see a different view of the area. Plenty of birds and turtles to see without someone trying to sell me some made in India souvenirs. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
Was a very informative enjoyable Cruise Tells lot about the area and history Learned things about changes over time
This was such an informative tour! We actually came right after the rain and we had Andrew (our guide) all to ourselves! It was great seeing turtles, fish and learning about the rainforest! What a wonderful time spent with Andrew! This tour should not be missed!!!!! Thank you!
Pretty mild and quick riverboat experience down the Barron River! Worth it take a break from the heat and cruise to see local wildlife, feed turtles and barramundi! Didn’t see a croc but a tour earlier in the day had!
Excellent 45 min Croc hunting…no luck as temperature far too hot for Crocs…Guide was very informative & allowed young ones to feed Turtles & Fish..
This is a relaxing 45 minute trip where our Guide and Captain, Warren, showed us turtles, fish and birds. He also talked to us about the natural environment and the history of the area. Not only relaxing but very informative. We had a baby in our group and there was enough room to keep her in her stroller. Highly recommend!
We had a tour with Warren and had a great experience. Unfortunately the river was in flood so no crocs but still plenty of information from Warren about the history of the rainforest. We saw birds, turtles and a personal favorite of mine which was the archer fish, which was also unexpected! We would definitely recommend
Great way to spend time seeing the sights of the Baron River. Turtles, fish and a variety of birds then a small freshie croc.
A short trip but what a worthwhile experience if you want to just relax on the riverboat for an easy afternoon ride. You'll see sea turtles, fish and hopefully a croc too! The tour guide Andrew was really good and experienced. Very knowledgeable. We had a great time and made it back in time for the train.
The whole trip was tranquil. Warren took time out to point out wildlife, rainforest features, a bit of history etc Warren drove the boat backwards and forwards across the river pointing out crocs, birds, turtle, fish etc. We also had a good view of the sky rail. The boat was reached via the Kuranda railway station steps. There was parking on the road above. The turtles appeared to know the boat near the beginning of the trip giving us good photo opportunities. We saw a couple of crocs, they look like sticks/ twigs/ branches until you zoom in.
The Kuranda Riverboat Tour was an absolute highlight of our visit to Kuranda! The 45-minute trip along the river was peaceful, scenic, and full of wildlife. Our captain, Andrew, was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the local area and animals, and his friendly personality made the experience even better. We were lucky enough to spot a crocodile, turtles, a sea eagle, and plenty of other wildlife along the way. It was definitely worth the money, and the convenience of paying cash on arrival or pre-booking online made it super easy. Highly recommend!
Andrew made the whole experience worthwhile telling us about the history of the area, the flora and fauna and taking us along the banks to spot wildlife. This is a wild jungle and not a theme park so animals don’t appear on command. A wonderful end to our trip in Kuranda before we descended on Skyrail. So glad we decided to take the time out to take the cruise.
Whilst we didn't see much of the wildlife, we did see the oldest rainforest on the planet. Andrew, our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Thank you Andrew.
Very knowledgeable guide, enjoyable and relaxing scenic boat ride on Barron River at a very reasonable price. Quite a lot of stairs to manoeuvre if coming from Kuranda shopping area.
This boat ride was excellent. We were a group of 10. Our Captain was Andrew and he educated us about the history of the area . We learned about the flora and fauna. We saw a variety of turtles, fish and birds. The tour lasted 45 mins and time flew by. A recommended activity in Kuranda. You can find the wharf the other side of the Railway Station.
