Great Barrier Reef Small Group Snorkelling Adventure

The staff were very good and helpful excellent the knowledge of the reef the hole adventure was good. Only one disappointing when you book they say snaks on board they passed around 2 small laminations I expected more other than that I give them 8 out of 10.

We had a fantastic experience with Reef Adventures exploring the Great Barrier Reef with Caitlin, Nadia and Lincoln! They were all incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. We particularly chose this tour because of the smaller group size, which meant more individualized attention and less crowding in the water and we were very pleased with our experience! We even got lucky enough to see a sea turtle and small reef shark while snorkeling! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cairns.

Such a great experience! Firstly the crew were amazing! Nicole, Lily, and Renee did their absolute best to make the guided tour a memorable trip! Lily was amazing guiding us, diving in and taking fabulous pictures with the GoPro! Nicole was so nice to take care of my friend the whole time in the waters and they’re all friendly! Renee was an amazing skipper, she made sure everyone was safe. Hats off to the three women for an amazing tour! Will be recommending this tour guide to our friends and colleagues :)

This was my third snorkeling experience in the last week at different spots of the reef in Queensland. The Reef Adventures trip was my favorite! I appreciated the extra commentary on the different types of fish and coral. Our snorkel guide did a great job pointing out various sealife. The locations we swam were varied in depth and environment s. I highly recommend the full day that included two different sites. They provided a substantial lunch and healthy snacks in between. Haley Nadia and Dan did a great job keeping us safe. And, free pictures of the trip was an added bonus!

I did the full day snorkeling excursion, which went to two different spots to snorkel. It was a great day and I loved that it was a smaller group! Would highly recommend booking with this group for a more personalized experience with great guides! I also enjoyed the lunch!

The trip with Reef Adventures was fabulous. Dan, Joelle, and Nadia made the trip to the reef exceptional. I learned a lot about the reef and saw two amazing spots where we snorkeled. I always felt safe while in the water or on board. The lunch and snacks on board were delicious and fresh. I highly recommend this company for a small group experience and a life long memory. Our guide took photos and videos with a GoPro and shared them with the group at no additional cost.

It was a very nice Trip, especially the two guides Eleanore and the second one (unfortunately I've forgotten her name) were very enthusiastic.

Hailey , Nadia, and Dan were amazing . Hailey was so informative regarding marine life and Nadia was so great while we were snorkeling pointing everything out and taking us over the reef to see the fantastic marine life and a sea turtle and shark. Dan was great manning the boat and in the water . So nice to have a small group very personalized and we felt very taken care of . The lunch was great and constant snacks and fresh cut fruit . Couldn’t have asked for a better day thank you to Reef adventure we will highly recommend your company .

Harry, Hailey and Elenor were amazing we had such a lovely time and learned so much about the fish we saw. It is a smaller boat so if you get seasick recommend taking meds on a windy day but we were fine and really enjoyed. The two spots were both beautiful and different to check out! Highly recommend

10/10 experience!!! If you’re looking for a half day GBR snorkeling tour, this is the one! Took about an hour each way to get to the reef and we had 2 hours to spend snorkeling which felt like the perfect amount of time. I loved that the boat was small and that there weren’t tons of people - it felt comfortable and clean. The staff were kind, personable, and knowledgeable! I felt very safe on the boat and in the water. Special shoutout to Lincoln, Kaitlyn, and Lina! They were awesome!!!!!

We just got back from our full-day snorkelling tour with Reef Adventures and couldn’t wait to share how AMAZING it was! 🤩 We had the absolute best time and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The crew was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the reef. They made sure everyone felt comfortable, took great care of us, and explained so many interesting things along the way. You could really tell how passionate they are about what they do! The tour wasn’t fully booked, so there were only around 10–15 of us, which made the whole experience feel even more personal and exclusive. Another huge bonus was that the guides took loads of beautiful photos throughout the day, all available to download for free! It’s such a lovely touch to have all those special moments captured so we can look back on them. 🐠📸 A massive THANK YOU to the amazing crew — Hayley, Nicole & Dan! You guys did an incredible job and made this day truly unforgettable. 🩵

I absolutely loved this tour. The staff (Harry, Eleanor and Hayley - hope I spelt these right) were so friendly and helpful. They were entertaining and enthusiastic, they knew what they were doing and pointed out many different animals in the sea that were cool to see. They were well educated and it made listening to them easy and enjoyable. The lunch was great, there was also a fruit platter and I got to try Lamingtons for the first time! Definitely bring a towel for drying off and staying warm between snorkelling spots and maybe a few extra snacks if you get hungry easily! Overall, such a wonderful day out and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

Excellent trip, exactly what my daughter's and I wanted, great snorkeling spots. The group size is good and transport very comfortable. Crew were very friendly and helpful. Bonus is the great pics the female crew took.

Was very enjoyable trip with great guides

A great experience with beautiful corals, fish and turtles! I liked that the tour had educational components as well as snorkelling. The crew were outgoing, fun but also professional and attentive to everyone. Music helped make the ride out to the reef and back go faster and the lunch was the best I ever had on any boat trip. Eleanor, Joelle and Lincoln were all great and all kind when I had a random unexpected wobble getting off the boat, and Eleanor had some great problem solving skills so I could still go in the second site, even when I offered to stay in the boat. Everything was relaxed so although it’s a lot of snorkelling, some people opted to stay in the boat on the second stint and you could go back on whenever you wanted, so everyone was catered for and felt safe. Recommend using the wet suit as it can get chilly, plus fantastic extra sun protection! And the photos are all included and you can get from a qr code within an hour, so super efficient and means I could leave the GoPro at home and just pay attention to the reef.

Such a great experience, got to see many of the reef wildlife, including tropical fish, corals, and some turtles! Guides, Nadia, Dan, and Eleanor were very helpful and knowledgable. Despite the sea being a bit rough, we still had a great time, and a smaller crowd made it much better.

Fantastic day on the reef, Matt, Jo and Joelle all looked after us so well. So knowledgeable, felt completely safe in the water. Saw the most amazing fish, coral and even a sea turtle. Well worth the trip, thank you so much.

An amazing trip! Highly recommend. The snorkelling was for over three hours and was great. The guides and staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. A special shout out and thank you to our guides Elenor, Joelle and Matt who led the day with such enthusiasm and energy. I would recommend getting wet suits when you check in as it can get chilly when in the water for a while and remember towels! The food and snacks were great and the fact that it was a smaller group really helped and added to the experience. Another added bonus was the underwater camera pictures that are taken and shared with you for free after the day. Thanks again so much all!

The Great Barrier Reef is always going to be amazing, but this trip with Reef Adventures and our team of Joelle, Nadia and Lincoln was absolutely superb! The booking experience was great with good comms prior to the trip. We were greeted by Joelle (one of our snorkelling guides), to check in and sort wet suits; this was all really efficient and friendly. The boat, captained by Lincoln was comfortable and the snacks/lunch were excellent. The team of Joelle, Nadia and Lincoln were superb throughout, amazingly knowledgeable about the reef and imparted their knowledge with fun and enthusiasm, and Lincoln’s driving (of the boat) was brilliant. Having a small group (<27) made this experience personal, but especially with Lincoln’s tunes on the way out and guests’ choices on the way back 😂 was immense fun and we cannot recommend these guys enough! This snorkel trip was by far the best of 3 I did. Small group. Special care to be sure we saw everything there was to see. Icing on the cake were the professional photos sent to me, as part of the package.

An absolutely unforgettable day on the Great Barrier Reef and easily one of the highlights of our trip. The crew and guides were fantastic throughout immensely knowledgeable, friendly and clearly passionate about the reef and its wildlife. The small group size made the snorkelling experience feel incredibly intimate and personal, giving us plenty of time and space to really appreciate the reef without ever feeling crowded. Every detail of the day was thoughtfully planned, from the organisation and guidance to the excellent lunch provided on board. The reef itself was, of course, spectacular, but we were also incredibly lucky to have an unexpected bonus on the way out stopping to watch a whale breach the water.

Best experience ever! Saw so much and was in the water for hours! Hailey, a Marine Biologist, explained everything in detail and showed us so much. She took photos which are then free to download. This is a guided tour so you snorkel together, you can't just swim off alone. I think the reason why we saw so much was because of this (no swimming off alone) they could take us in closer to the reef where its all happening. The group was small, just right. Matthew, our skipper was also great and so was lunch, very fresh. Would highly recommend!

Captain Lincoln, Marine Biologist Hayley and Eleanor, Chief of Entertainment, were awesome today on our trip! As over 55’s, we felt super safe, informed and entertained! Totally recommend the smaller boat experience - and the sing alongs - great fun.

Although the weather was not favourable the trip was well run The equipment was in good condition and felt safe.

We did a full day snorkel with Douelle Kathlyn and our boat captain Matt The day was fantastic - the crew couldn't have done more - the two reeks we dived out were full of coral and fish and turtles. Would recommend any family to book this day out.

We had a fantastic day out with Skipper Matt and guides Joelle and George. All were very knowledgeable about the reef, the snorkeling sites were superb. The boat ride was a blast, we loved the music selections too.

Going to the GBR is an incredible experience and it's amazing to get to see such beauty. We had booked for a full day and, when we arrived, they said that the trip that day had in fact been canceled due to weather. I understand the waves were too rough, but they certainly could have given advance notice. 2 days later, we went out with Bradley and Hailey. They were very warm and welcoming, as well as being knowledgeable. There was zero instruction about snorkeling, and when we got into the water, a couple of people in our group struggled and had to spend the rest of the time on the boat. If they are going to take people with no snorkeling experience, they need to be willing to explain/instruct about snorkeling even just a little bit.

Great tour. Rain and strong winds forced a cancellation of our tour. We were offered a refund or rebook. We chose the rebook and two days later we did our tour. Crew was awesome. Haley kept everything organized and always checked to ensure we were enjoying the tour. Bradley added the entertainment to the trip. Both offered information during the snorkeling. Aaron was are determined captain of the vessel. You will drive about 1 1/2 hours to the first location. This spot is shallow and good for exploring. We saw two sharks, a nurse shark and a white tip reef shark. Amazing coral. You then have lunch as you travel to the second location, close by. If you’re traveling in winter, I’d recommend renting the wetsuit, the water was chilly.

I went on the full day reef tour and highly recommend it. We had ample time to enjoy the reef across two outings with lunch in between. Our guides were knowledgeable and did a great job pointing out the various fishes and other reef critters we encountered. My trip was in late June and the optional wetsuit rental was well worth it.

Saw plenty of sea life despite windy conditions.. Guides were all very informative and accomodating.
