Great Barrier Reef 30-minute Scenic Helicopter Tour From Cairns

Very exciting to see how massive the GBR is from the shy. We say rays, sharks and a turtle!

This one is definitely worth the splurge and was the Grand Finale for my week in Cairns! What an incredible experience seeing The Great Barrier Reef from above after snorkeling below. The 30-minutes passed in a flash! Everyone at the agency from check-in to getting us onboard was fantastic, and special thanks to pilot John Nelson! What a privilege riding shotgun next to you!!!

Fabulous reef tour! I decided to go at the last minute after reading other reviews, and it was even better than I expected! I had a front row seat with all clear glass in front and below. Spectacular views! And the pilot did a nice job explaining what we were seeing.

The views of the GBR were astonishing! The pilot narrated key features only and allowed us to absorb the beauty mostly in the quietness of the moment. Our tender from the ship was delayed and they kept our reservation open; thanks! This was our first helicopter ride and I researched the company before booking. I was very confident that our safety was their top priority.

This was an amazing flight, from viewing the reef and seeing Dugongs, turtles and dolphins. A spectacular view of Green Island, Fitzroy Island, Yarrabah, False Cape, Vlasoff Sand Cay and Arlington Reef. The pilot and staff were professional, engaging knowledgeable and welcoming making the overall experience for our family a memorable one that we would highly recommend to everyone. Terrible experience! there was a reservation, but in the morning it was raining and everything was canceled. Full refund. But 15 min after the sun and blue sky. It was my last day before flying and no one offered me a flight later that day!!! just two days later. If you are short on time and are planning an excursion, be careful if you want a particular time distribution because the helicopter flight may not happen., even with only few clouds!!!!Waste of time, could take other tour!!

My son and wife were not keen to go on a boat for the day and we had limited time, so this was a great way to see the reef. My son sat at the front of the helicopter and loved it! The staff and the pilot were excellent and ensured we have fun and stayed relaxed. A wonderful experience for all of us

What a mind blowing experience! The reef is something to behold and we were so lucky to have seen it in this way. All the staff were super friendly, professional and so helpful and kind. We were treated like VIP’s and will remember our flight fondly. Worth every cent! Don’t hesitate, just do it!

The helicopter trip was amazing, the whole experience was very well orgnaised all staff members were helpful and pleasent including the helicopter driver.

The view was amazing and we loved riding in a helicopter. It was nice to have headsets and microphones to communicate with each other and listen to the airport and pilot conversations.

96 year old has the flight of her life. Better than she expected. Joyce had never been in a helicopter but had been on the Great Barrier reef to Green Island and Norman reef many times in the last 70 years. Held on for dear life for the first 10 minutes of the trip then settled down for 20 minutes of an enjoyable flight

After a bit of a delayed start, the take-off was exceptionally smooth as was the entire flight. Pilot was knowledgeable and informative but didn't talk the entire trip giving us time to take in the breathtaking scenery. The time flew and I would highly recommend

The best experience I have done on the reef. It feels like you could reach out and touch the reef. Saw turtles and dolphins. The colours were amazing, it such a unique way to see the reef. Flew over 5 different reef systems. The pilot was so full of information about the reef. Photos don’t do it Justice.

We booked the tour within a 24hr time frame, and received a phone call the next morning to confirm our tour. All staff, from the reservations team, ground staff and pilot were completely professional and experienced and made the trip enjoyable. The check in process is really simple, and the departure area is only a short walk from check in. The views of the Great Barrier Reef were amazing!! Just do it!!

Staff were amazing. Unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to do a 45 minute flight - however, the staff were so helpful that did not matter! We were offered a 30 minute flight instead, and a refund of the difference. Within five minutes it was all sorted! The flight and pilot were spectacular, couldn't complain! Was super friendly, and informative. We were so impressed with the team at Nautilus! Would 100% recommend for anyone, was a highlight of our trip. Thank you :)

We were so impressed with the team at Nautilus. We booked the cruise out and fly back package to the Great Barrier Reef but unfortunately due to weather, the helicopter flight got cancelled. We popped in to the office the follow day to discuss the refund, however the friendly staff offered us a 60 minute scenic flight for no extra charge. The flight was absolutely spectacular and the pilot was very informative. Thank you Nautilus!!

There is nothing like looking over the Great Barrier Reef than from the seat of a helicopter. It was a smooth journey and I could see for miles. \ Seeing the GBR from above you get a real appreciation of the enormity of the Great Barrier Reef. See it by snorkelling, scuba diving or an underwater vessel like a glass bottom boat or semi-submersible tour.. but do yourself a favor and go the next level and get a bird's eye view from a helicopter too. I was lucky enough to see a Manta Ray in the waters below on the day. So that was an unexpected highlight I have to share.

I highly recommend Nautilus. It was my first time in a helicopter and it was such an amazing experience. The pilot Craig was very knowledgeable about the area and was more than happy to answer my all of my questions. I will definitely recommend Nautilus to all my family and friends visiting Cairns.

No regrets flying with nautilus in their good looking red helicopter. The pilot provides informative Commentary about the reefs in the area. Stunning bird eye views over the reef definitely a must do activity to experience the Great Barrier Reef.

I cannot praise them enough.<br/> The helicopter ride was breath- taking with spectacular views and the highlight of our Great Barrier Reef cruise.<br/> We were picked up from our cruise ship by taxi, the whole trip was clearly explained and throughout the ride we were able to request closer views, ask questions etc. Wonderful!<br/> Whilst waiting to board we asked the receptionist if she could possibly book a taxi to pick us up after the ride as we wanted to go to Kuranda Village. She suggested that it would be far better to go by cable car than road. We explained that that was what we had dearly wanted to do but were unable to due to time restrictions.<br/> When we went back to the hanger after our helicopter ride one of the staff was given the keys to a car and told to take us straight to Freshwater stationdeparture point for cable car where we had been booked onto the 11.00 am cable car, which meant we had sufficient time to do the 'round trip'<br/> The receptionist had gone to the trouble of sorting it all out for us. The company also refused to charge us for the 15 minute taxi ride to the cable car station . Talk about going the extra mile.<br/> Thank you so much. It was truly appreciated</p>

<p>Unfortunately rain into some weather problems but the staff was very accommodating and was able to get me on another heli at a later date before leaving the Carins area. Even though I was unable to fly over the reef, I was still given a private flight over the rain forest and treated like a VIP.</p>
