Be prepared to walk and possible rain. It was a great time, and gave us the opportunity to see a variety of terrain and learn about local culture/customs. Highly recommend the adventure!

Amazing full day trip. Our guide John was very informative and knowledgeable also giving us good advice about swimming safely. There were 4 swimming stops, all were great although the rock slide at Josephine falls was very slippery and quite hard to get up! The cultural talk at The Cathedral Fig Tree was really interesting and Alan was great at explaining his culture
careful, knowledgeable, attentive driver, full day, some walking required. Lunch and afternoon tea included. Fine for any weather.
We had the most incredible day exploring Far North Queensland’s breathtaking waterfalls with our wonderful tour guide, Cheryl. Every waterfall we visited was absolutely spectacular — and being able to safely swim in these beautiful freshwater swimming holes while knowing we were in croc country made the experience even more special! Cheryl was an exceptional host — warm, knowledgeable, professional and genuinely passionate about sharing the beauty, stories and history of Country. Her Aboriginal history and cultural knowledge shared throughout the drive added such a meaningful layer to the experience and made the journey between the waterfalls just as fascinating as the destinations themselves. A special highlight was meeting Alan a QLD Murray, who was incredibly knowledgeable about his Country and its history. Hearing these stories from people with genuine connection to Country was something we really valued. The lunch was another highlight — absolutely delicious, generous and plentiful, with seconds and even thirds available! And to top it off, the lunch venue had its own waterfall, which was such a beautiful surprise. I also really appreciated seeing the tour company supporting a local, authentic Aboriginal business. Supporting local communities and Aboriginal businesses while experiencing Country in such a respectful and authentic way makes a huge difference. The whole tour was professional, well organised, informative, fun and incredibly memorable. I honestly could not fault it. If you’re visiting Far North Queensland and want to experience some of the region’s most beautiful waterfalls while learning about the Country, its history and culture, I couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. 🌿💦❤️ Thank you, Cheryl, for an amazing day — we’ll be talking about this experience for a very long time!
Didn't find a detailed timeline of the day when I was trying to book this tour. So here it is, after I've tried it. To sum up, there's more bus riding than activities, but the spots are so beautiful that I think it's still worth it. Perfect for a day where you want to sit and rest a bit and add in some short thrills here and there. --- 7:00-7:48 bus drive around various places to pickup passengers, Viator says 7:00am but we actually had to wait and got picked up at 7:45am. 7:48-8:33 gas + gordonvale Cathedral tree and hearing from an indigenous person was very informative. 10:40-11:05 Lake Eacham swim and use toilet. 40m driving 11:45-12:15 Mila Mila falls very beautiful and unique spot for a quick swim, bring your own swimming gears, towels, water shoes, very cold water temperature in September. 12:15-12:32pm drive again 12:32-1:15pm buffet lunch at Mungalli falls upper rapid 1:15-2:15pm driving 2:15-3:10pm rock sliding Josephine waterfall, very fun. 750m hike through a buggy trail. Enough time for once or twice slide if you're quick and determined. Fairly safe given rocks are smooth and covered in moss. Very slippery. Lots tiny flies, might want to use insect spray. Bus guide very strict about timing and head counts. Which is great for keeping us safe and on-time but I wish there were more detailed itenary to help me know what to expect. No towel service, so bring your own towel, and be prepared to sit on wet seat and wet clothing. 3:40-4:40pm babinda lake swim, 750m hike to devil's pool, afternoon cookies and tea. 5:40pm tour ended at hotel drop-off.
Nice trip. Great waterfall views and fun. Lots of bus time with little actual experience time. Leader, Clint, was excellent.
Just had a fantastic day with our guide Ian. This tour packs in a lot. It started with a visit to the Cathedral tree and cultural experience in the tablelands area rainforest. It was so cool. Then we hit the road for 4 separate swimming experiences at 1 lake, 2 waterfalls and 1 creek. We stopped for lunch at Mungali falls. Lots of driving, moderate walking, tons of scenery whether driving through the mountains or walking in the various rainforest areas. We spent about 30-45 minutes at each spot.
You will get to swim in 4 beautiful and different locations, and have a healthy lunch at yet another. There's a natural slide at one waterfall that's great fun. You'll also get a really intetesting talk with an Aboriginal guide and see the Cathedral tree. Even if you don't swim, you'll see gorgeous natural wonders.
Our guide Dan 10/10 man made us very welcome. Bus very comfortable and safe . Very enjoyable day , plenty to see . Lunch average not what I would call a pub lunch but ok. Plenty of places to swim . The Aboriginal guide at the rainforest was informative and very interesting. Very pleasant day
Fabulous trip ,Dan the 10/10 bro man made the day . Bus very comfortable the waterfalls all different and amazing . Tea and coffee stops on the way . Plenty of time at each stop . Very enjoyable day .
Our tour guide John was amazing, he knew a lot about the area and answered all of our questions. There were a few things about the tour which weren't to our personal taste, e.g. we only saw very touristy spots with clearly demarked paths/things to do. We were hoping for more nature and hiking which was a bit lacking. (Though obviously the tour company can't control which animals we see). There were some good opportunities for swimming which we took advantage of but the one I was really looking forward to was closed due to high water. We swam behind a waterfall though which was very memorable! Lunch was nice, they catered well for my vegan partner and I enjoyed the meat options. Overall, it was a really nice tour but just didn't have some of the things we were hoping for.
What an amazing experience! We recently booked the Waterfalls Rainforest Tour through Viator with Clint, and he was an absolute superstar. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the local plants, animals, and area history, and we especially loved the indigenous tour portion of the day. The drive was seamless, the waterfalls were stunning, and our tour group was super friendly. Clint even provided morning tea with delicious lamingtons and choc-chip cookies, followed by a very filling and tasty lunch. It’s a long day, but it went so fast because we enjoyed every single stop. Do yourself a favor and book this tour—you won't regret it!
Our guide Clint was amazing! So knowledgeable, fun and supportive. I think because of him the whole trip was just right.
Excellent for people who like swimming but need to be fairly quick walker if you want to see everything.
Waterfalls Information about the local land Friendly tour guide Great pace and plenty seen Incredible day
Great waterfalls. Loved the Cathedral tree and information provided on the tour.
Beautiful scenery, amazing rainforest walks and a friendly guide. I had a great time. Highly recommend.
The places you visit are beautiful. However, the trip up the mountain is very windy, so take some Dramamine first. Also, bring shoes that can get a little muddy. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made frequent bathroom stops. Our lunch stop at a local pub was really good. The waterfalls and strangled trees were worth the trip.
Good amount of time spent at each location. Tasty fresh wraps for lunch and morning tea. Excellent tour guide knowledgeable and a great personality.
The experience were quite unique. Ian was very organized to made this full day trip work for everyone. Josephine Fall was definitely the highlight.
such a memorable day exploring the rainforest water spots and waterfalls! such a good mix to fill your day, and enjoy a variety of natural wonders
This was a good god trip, there was a little traveling which was okay but when we visited one place the guide did not let us swim as he said the waterfalls were to high but others were doing it and kids were also in there, this was a little frustrating to say the least. Overall the trip was good.
Excellent experience. Lots of different things to see and do. Ian was an amazing guide
Our tour guide Noel was amazing! Very informative and passionate about nature, the rainforest and waterfalls. The drive to the rainforest was very curvy but we stopped at a convenience shop to pick up snacks or motion sickness medicine if needed.
Amazing relax day and amazing waterfalls views.
I loved everything about this tour. Highlights included guide Clinton's entertaining and informative commentary, the cultural presentation at the Cathedral fig tree, and the chance to see so many stunning locations in a single day. I wouldn't have wanted to do this much driving by myself, but being a passenger means you can relax and enjoy the scenery in between stops. Our group included a wide range of ages, and there were people travelling solo as well as couples and pairs of friends. There was plenty to enjoy at each location whether you wanted to swim or not. All in all, a really well designed and thoughtfully delivered tour. It also felt like excellent value for money compared to what I'd have spent on car rental, petrol, lunch and stress if attempting to DIY the same route.
A great way to see many sites in a day. Even if there is rain it is well worth it! Swimming at Milla Milla is a must!
Operator never arrived to pick up location. Myself and others left waiting for hours. Bus never showed up. Refused refund request with zero explanation. Terrible customer service. Scam.
I really love this experience. 100% recommend.
The destinations were great. The driver was great. The food was great. The van was great. The time in the van was not really clear when we signed up. It was a great experience but just need to know that you will be driving for several hours each way.
Scenery was beautiful! Wear your swimsuit and sandals. Our driver Cheryl was awesome with her instructions, attitude, timing, and wonderful spirit.
The tour was wonderful, despite the rain! The rain forest was amazing, and all of the waterfalls were beautiful. The only drawback was the pickup…we were told to be ready at 7:00 a.m. but were not picked up until 8:00 a.m., and no communication about tardiness.
Our tour guide Cheryl was extremely hospitable, friendly, and displayed a depth of knowledge and sensitivity towards Cairns' wildlife, culture, and history. We felt that time was used to its fullest and that we were able to cover a lot of ground and do a good range of activities in just one day. I was so glad to get the mix of culture and history with the talk at the Cathedral Fig tree, as well as the fun and thrill at the different waterfalls. The size of the group wasn't too big either, which worked well for us. Thanks to Cheryl and Cairns Adventure Group, we've made memories that we'll remember for a long time.
It was a great day and a wonderful tour. Micheal was a very knowledgeable tour guide that made everyone feel welcomed and ensured that all had fun.
Great tour to beautiful waterfalls and natural pools! Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable.
Beautiful experience, I loved every moment of my adventures. Out driver Samba was so great and friendly. He mad our adventure fun and beautiful. I had fun meeting new people and creating unforgettable memories.
Chezza was our tour guide and absolutely amazing and so friendly and knowledgeable, she also had great stories to share. The full day was perfect from start to finish with stunning viewpoints, swim spots, and tea lunch and snacks. We learnt about indigenous culture. We even spotted a platypus!
We had a great day. Our tour guide Michael was amazing he was very kind, helping, funny, and inclusive (he was also a great photographer too). One of the best tour guides I’ve ever had .We would definitely recommend the tour and the tour guide. I went there with my husband and my 10 year old daughter and my daughter had an amazing experience so I would definitely recommend bringing your family along.
My tour was so much fun, our group was small, but full of lovely people from all around the world: Canada, Poland, Ireland, Spain, Japan. And our guide was awesome told us very interesting stories, let us enjoy the waterfalls, took amazing pictures. The lunch was great! I don’t eat much so I left part of my wrap, but I loved it! Fresh and tasty. I would recommend everyone to carry anti motion sickness medicine because the path is full of curves.
From picked up to dropped and in between It was so amazing experience. Falls were just big WOW STUNNING Our tour guide/driver JOHN was awesome You are rock john!! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
The tour was fantastic! Sambo was fun, personable and knowledgeable. He had so many interesting stories to tell us and truly went above and beyond to create a memorable experience. Loved being able to hop in the water at so many beautiful spots.
Very nice day out, there is a nice stop at an unbelievably impressive tree, and a number of swimming opportunities to swinging beautiful locations .. Plenty of rain forest, surprisingly few animals on view.
Stunning areas visited with great scenery along the way. Ben was a great guide. A definite must do if you are visiting the area.
Wonderful day spent seeing the waterfalls and the rainforest. Our guide was outstanding which only added to the enjoyment of the day. Unfortunately it was too chilly of a day for me to get into the water but that didn’t stop others in our group from doing so.
That it is a very worthwhile tour, and you see some amazing waterfalls and you can have a swim and you see some very beautiful country. and have a very good lunch.
Dan was a great fun and relaxed tour guide. He gave us lots of fun facts and made the tour enjoyable and interesting. I loved the Aboriginal information session at the Cathedral Fig tree, the tour guide was amazing for a young person. He was professional, knowledgeable, calm and funny. Please provide this feedback to their company. He was an absolute legend and spoke so proudly of his people and heritage. It was an absolute honour to hear him speak. An amazing role model for our First Nations people. Thanks again Dan for being my photographer the best photo I have so far and for guiding us . enjoy your upcoming holidays in the Phillipines. Regards Julie (the swimmer)
Dan took us on the best tour. We even got off the beaten track and seen a couple extras. Highly recommend for a chilled but adventurous day trip. Best tip i can give you is to try the waterslide standing up. What could go wrong?!?
Our tour guide Clint was incredibly fun and so knowledgeable. He made our tour so enjoyable, full of surprises and fun commentary. He was always on the lookout for wildlife when we saw the illusive cassowary! Highly rated
A disappointing tour with a 25 year old American bus driver tour guide Christina who had limitited knowledge about the Atherton Tablelands There was very little commentary The tour was rushed The experience at The Curtain fig tree was the best part with 2 young indigenous men with a display of Aboriginal artefacts one played the didgeridoo and explained some history The wet weather didn't help however it could have been more bearable it the tour company provided umbrellas or raincoats I suggest employ people who know the area and are capable of providing interesting facts I usually don't give bad reviews however I feel the need to inform this company that they should try to employ suitable people for their tours I always book through Viator this is the first time I have been disappointed
Dan's the man in this wonderful day out. Lovely small group of strangers who ended up supporting each other getting in and out of the swimming opportunities and taking photos for each other. Beautiful scenary on the 5 billion (felt like it) switchbacks, glorious, safe places to swim. Lovely lunch, quick pit stops with cake and cookies and even an impromptu pie shop stop. Dan was an excellent host and guide. Pick up from hotel on time and we could hear good comms between all the drivers and base at the start of the day as they went about pick ups or advising of traffic to avoid. A quality day out - totally recommended.
