Set out sailing on time with a well organized group that take care of every aspect of the boat and crew were super friendly, the Reefs are out of this world and the cherry on the cake the helicopter ride over the reefs was out of this world .

What an amazing way to experience all Cairns has to offer in 3 days. All the days were different but magical in their own ways. The professionalism, knowledge and friendliness of all the staff was first class. You are never rushed , the equipment they provide is excellent and the value is great. Thank you , you have made Cairns a special memory for us
5 stars! I’ve never left a review, but this tour package made it feel like a must. The teams at Down Under Cruise & Dive , Billy Tea Safaris and Skyrail were welcoming and exceptional - they made my experience in Cairns so memorable! Highly recommended! Day 1: Evolution Full Day Reef Cruise To start our day, we were welcomed by the friendly and experienced cruise members of the Evolution. Our trip to the Reef was bumpy due to the wind, and I got rather sick. One of the cruise members was very helpful, they made sure to check on me and directed me to a more ventilated area of the boat - that made me feel better, enough to enjoy the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. Buffet lunch included salads, prawns, grilled fish and steak, scones and muffins - not exactly my style, but undoubtedly decent. Day 2: Daintree Rainforest Tour Daniel, our tour guide, was funny, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely dedicated. He even went the extra mile to make sure our group got to see the cassowaries in the Daintree Forest. Thank you, Daniel! Day 3: Kuranda Train and Skyrail Kuranda and the Butterfly Sanctuary were absolutely beautiful. I am grateful and impressed that the team made sure to book me a window seat facing forward on the train back to Cairns. The view that I got was spectacular.
The 3 day deal is a a very good deal. Both the reef cruise and rainforest days were fantastic and operated by a first class outfit. We both commented on how well run the boat and ground tours were done. Slight down grade to the Kuranda sky rail day as the town is a typical tourist trap and the train ride was acceptable but not necessarily exceptional. Skyrail was cool and an interesting way to see more rainforest. Tips: realize that there are extra costs on the reef tour for diving, or snorkel guide, but well worth it. The reef tour also has a semi-submergible extra that is also worth the extra cost. Lunch is provided, and very good for a tour. Don’t expect gourmet, but a nice spread ala buffet style. Same for the day for the rain forest, a good sit down meal served for lunch at a restaurant and was an unexpected surprise. Both are full day efforts so expect to be exhausted at end of day. Overall this is a good way to experience Cairns adventures. The skyrail was an easier day with a later start and mostly just sitting to see scenery, with a couple of platform stops for forest observation and waterfalls. We were glad we chose this combination option to experience the area.
Really fun set of excursions and great price to have the 3 days bundled together like this! I had a marvelous time.
Fantastic communication before coming so I knew exactly what to expect. All went exactly how planned and each place had our name. The only problem I had was I needed WiFi to communicate since I was from the United States and I think they tried to text me one time. All got straitened out and went smoothly. Thank you!!
Far North Queensland is beautiful. And the three day pass was good value. The trip to the reef was amazing and the snorkelling was a definite highlight. Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree - also highlights. Kuranda was a total disappointment. The train up and cable car back was interesting, but Kuranda was tired and completely tourist-driven. My pass meant I had to spend 4 hours there. After the firat 30 min, there wasn't much to see or do.
From start to finish, everything was great. Pick up on time, our drivers were very knowledgeable and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling. Very professional crew. And the Daintree Rainforest day was a lot 9f fun. Would highly recommend this combo tour.
We flew to Cairns from Sydney to enjoy the 3 day trip outlined by Viator as a SuperSaver. Aside from the extreme heat it was super fun and a great value. The first day, the Great Barrier Reef we had to walk to the pier (5 minutes since we stayed at the Mantra Esplanade in town). The crew was thorough with instructions, we were provided stinger suits because of the jellyfish and we went to 2 areas of the reef. The sea was quite rough and I took trava calm (available for purchase on the boat) right away since I get motion sickness. Glad I did as the majority of the passengers were goners before we got to the first reef. Crew again was helpful with people being seasick. Food was provided-just okay. I didn’t like that snacks provided on the way back had people grabbing cheese and crackers and fruit with their hands to put on napkins. They should have provided serving ware and paper plates. The reef was colorful and we enjoyed the snorkeling. They have a photographer who takes photos below the water that are for sale. I bought 2 that were airdropped to my phone. A little pricey, but such cool photos! Our train trip to Kuranda was really fun, but hot. We stopped once to stretch our legs and a photo opportunity. In kuranda we we went to the koala area (extra fee) and held a koala (extra fee). But how often do you get to do that? Well worth it. Shopping and eating took up the rest of the time in Kuranda. We took a gondola ride down with stops-beautiful views! Cape Tribulation-we had a great guide, Mal, who took good care of us all day. We went to Featherdale Park where we got to feed kangaroos and wallabys and saw many animals! Hot sticky hike into Mossman Gorge, but so pretty! Mal pointed out all kinds of things. We took a ferry ride to a back country resort for lunch where you could opt for exotic food if you wanted. Lastly we took a river boat ride to look for saltwater crocs. We loved all 3 days-so worth the time and expense to fly to Cairns.
This was a great tour option to book! The first day was a tour of the Great Barrier Reef. The boat was very clean and lunch was delicious. They offer extras on board, and we did the guided snorkelling tour and submarine tour. I think doing one of two is enough, as they give the same information, but it's super informative. The second day was Kuranda. The skyrail down was the highlight of that day! The third day is the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation tour. The guide is super knowledgable about local plant life and vegetation, and the beach at Cape Tribulation is gorgeous. Would highly recommend this tour, as everything is well organized and the guides are very nice!
All 3 days were fun. Friendly and knowledgeable staff on the boat. Great buffet. Reef amazing. Day 2 railroad trip enjoyable and interesting. Sky tram fun. Day 3 Steve our guide was excellent in explaining so much about Australia. Loved the animal encounter. The river cruise was good also and the narrator said many good things about how Australia is working on saving the planet.
GBR cruise - Spectacular!! Don’t miss it ! Kuranada Railway - Interesting but if your strapped for time, skip it. Cape Tribulation Day - It’s a very long day but well worth it. Our guide was excellent
This was an amazing package. We booked many adventures through Viator and we were NOT disappointed with any of the trips. Every trip was great and well organised. We booked all our trips over the year before we went to Australia and it worked out superb. thank you.
I went out with them to see the reef- they're locally owned and operated which is good to support and the staff are beyond friendly
Fantastic service, friendly.. food was good. Excellent all around. Reef was really nice and everything was safe.
My husband and I were only going to be in Cairns for about 4 days. We had two goals: snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef and cuddle a koala. I came across this three day excursion on Travstar. After seeing all that is included, at such a low price. I knew this was for us! The Reef: Boat ride is about 80 mins. Be sure to bring motion sickness medication (if you forget, they sell on board). I cannot stress enough - TAKE IT! Even if you have never had motion sickness. The ride is quite rough, but obviously very worth it! We snorkeled at two different reefs, one of which was about 1-2ft from the surface! Was truly amazing. The meal they served was tasty as well. They offered many vegetarian dishes which was greatly appreciated. Overall excellent day! Kuranda: The train ride was tight quarters, but excellent views. Only about 1.5hrs so manageable. Kuranda is a cute village with many touristy shops, cafes, restaurants, and art galleries. Very walkable and fun to wander through. We also opted to go to the Kuranda Koala Gardens. This is where I was able to hold a koala for a picture!! Queensland is the only state in Australia that allows this. They tell you exactly what to do to ensure the animals safety. I absolutely loved it. Also there is an area you walk through where you can feed kangaroos and wallabies by hand! The food is free. What a once in a lifetime experience truly! This park is small, but exactly what we needed to ensure we had time to wander the village. We took the Skyrail down. Absolutely amazing views! There are two platforms it stops at - highly recommend getting off for some pictures. Daintree/Cape Trib: This day was split up just enough to ensure an excellent experience. The drive to Cape Trib is about 2.5hrs, but we never had a ride that was over 1.5! There are multiple stops/activities throughout to ensure this. The rainforest walk is not difficult at all - on a boardwalk the entire time. There was a light drizzle, which made it even better in my opinion since we were in a rainforest after all. The lunch at Cape Trib was decent. The beach itself was beautiful! We literally were the only ones on it. It’s amazing to see the rainforest literally touching the sand that starts the beach. The crocodile cruise was interesting as well! We saw a small baby croc, as well as 2 big males - one in the water and another up in the bank! The guide also had us stop for ice cream at a local fruitfarm that makes it onsite. Was truly delicious. We stopped at some lookouts as well that were breathtaking views of the coast. Even by an open field that had 100s of wild wallabies just laying there. Loved it! If you will be in Cairns and want to see a little of everything that it has to offer, definitely book this trip!!
This is really good way of seeing the best of what Cairns has to offer at a reasonable price. Yannick our guide for Danetree was very knowledgeable.
WOW is what I have to say. I am a transportation and tour operator in California U.S.A. From the moment we were greeted onto the vessel we were amazed at how organized the captain and his staff were. Of course not to mention the beautifully detailed vessel, and the day of fun, food, and Toms entertainment. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to go out for the day and snorkle, dive, or just sit back and relax. Food and drink was amazing as well. Thank you to the captain and crew for a spectacular and fun-filled day out at sea.
everybody in this company was a pleasure to interact with, very accommodating and great value for money. the highlight being the day on the reef, we were lucky enough to meet the chef Tom who was also the entertainment on the way back in from the reef. Tom was an excellent musician who performed some great rock classics making the usually long slow cruise back an experience to really enjoy. thanks Tom and all the crew for a wonderful experience
Compared to others, the value for money you get with this combined tour is fantastic. No complaints, the highlight was definitely the scenic railway, and fair warning that seasickness on the GBR can be a real issue.
Did not receive on-board photo that I paid for. Do not recommend buying any extras onboard. Rip-off!
The first day - The boat ride out to the reef was great however I was violently seasick for about two hours, the staff were really good about it. The snorkel gear was clean and good working order, the reef sites were incredible, my 10 year old son snorkeled by himself ( I was very confident the staff were watching him). Second day - Kuranda tour was great very informative, the butterfly sanctuary was great but the bird sanctuary was incredible absolutely loved it, you can feed the birds. The skyline was nice and it was relaxing. Third day- Cape trib and daintree tour was great been worn out from the days before I would suggest having a days break in between one of the day tours. Mossman gorge was nice but not much time to spend there. Cape tribulation was lovely. Things I would of done if I had more time amd money # Aboriginal tour or bush tucker, spent more time in Cairns CBD, night markets and bought local art. I stayed at the caravan park and it was really nice. People in town are friendly and helpful. I like Cairns and Im glad this was the first place I decided to visit. Thank you for hospitality.
This was a great trip. Worth the money. I priced it out to do these tours individually and to take the family myself instead of booking it all together through this company and it was more money. Day 2 and 3 have bus drivers that act as guides and tell you lots of information about the area. Day 1 on the reef was excellent. There were over 150 people on our boat but you would never know it. The crew were excellent. They knew us by name by the time we got off the boat. Not many divers but lots of snorkelers. My son did two adventure dives and the dive crew took great care of him. I did 3 dives and Shea was an awesome dive master. I paid the extra $10/dive for her to guide me around and it was well worth it. Day 2 was a trip to Kuranda. We got picked up by bus and taken to the train station. The train trip was 1.5 hours and beautiful. We toured Kuranda on our own and had to be back down to the Skyrail by 2:15 to get to the bottom by 4pm for our bus pick up back to hotel. In Kuranda there is a butterfly sancturary, Koala Gardens and a Bird Sanctuary. These were extra money. The birds were great if you want to get up close and hold them. The Koala Gardens were small, I would recommend others like Port Douglas or Townsville. The Skyrail down was amazing! Day 3 we were picked up from hotel by bus and we drove up to Port Douglas to the animal sanctuary. We had one hour there to explore. It was nice and not busy first thing in the morning. Then we drove up to Mossman Gorge and went for a swim. Next we drove to Cape Tribulation and got a tour of the rainforest before eating lunch at a place in the middle of the rainforest. We had some time to walk to the beach after lunch. We left lunch and drove to a crocodile tour. We only saw one small one and a snake but it was a good tour. The guide was informative. Then we finished the drive home. I would recommend this trip. It was well organized and you can't find it any cheaper. It is a busy 3 days!
Beautiful views and learned a little about scuba diving, although they need to be more clear on when it stops being free to when you have to pay for it. The pictures they took underneath the great Barrier reef are great!!! Trip from cairns to kuranda was cool and there really isnt a tour guide. Seen crocodiles kangaroos koalas colorful birds wombats and a whale. Great trip!!
We had a wonderful time each day on our trip. The staff and guides were knowledgeable and friendly. :-)
I just finished a three day adventure with this company and highly recommend this crew! Everyone was very professional and took care of every need. My ticket on the kuranda train was forward facing while others were unhappily riding backwards. I would not have known to ask if i had booked it myself so thank you!! The crew on the evolution were marvelous— what a clean boat! All was explained very well and the lunch was terrific. I particularly enjoyed the marine biologist tour— well worth the extra $25. Finally my last day was with Gavin up to the Daintree— what a guide! I would go on any tour he headed up. Full of information and charming. He made an excellent trip even better. Thank you so much all for a wonderful trip i will always remember!!
We could enjoy all of highlights of Cairns all in once! Will be great memories for Mum & me. Thanks!
My husband and I did the Great Barrier Reef Cruise and Cape Tribulation/Daintree Rainforest Day trip. Overall both experiences were fantastic. The GBR cruise trip was incredibly well-organized, particularly since the company was dealing with a reasonably large group (I believe 118 people), but it never felt chaotic or unorganized, and we never felt unsafe in the water. We did the guided snorkeling tour which was very informative, and the crew was very helpful in and around the water. The Cape Tribulation/Daintree Rainforest day trip was also great - again very well organized, with a very clear itinerary. The guide we had was informative and helpful, the lunch was good, and great sights in the forest. Considering it was a bus tour (and therefore we knew we would have limited time at each location we stopped), we certainly felt like we got our money's worth on both this and the GBR cruise. We would definitely recommend this company and package.
We recently took the 3-day adventure and had a wonderful time! Day 1- went well. Had read several reviews so we knew to expect sea sickness and took precautions. The reef in both spots was super fun- saw lots of aquatic species and we rented an underwater camera for $65 to take loads of pictures. Weather did not affect people snorkelling or diving but those expecting to do helicopter rides or semi-submersible boats were out of luck(not sure if they were refunded as the cancellations were only announced once the boat was already mid-trip). Food was enough for everyone on board and entertainment on the ride back was good too. Day 2- Rain affected the Kuranda Scenic Railway and was cancelled but we were offered a refund or move this trip to another day or take the cableway both up and down the mountains. We decided to take the Cableway. It was a lovely trip and there was more than enough time to go around Kuranda and check out several of the wildlife exhibits. The only downside to Day 2 was the lack of communication about how we would get tickets for the Cableway and be picked up at the end of the day as it was not the same bus or driver from the morning rounds. Day 3- Cape Tribulation /Daintree rainforest was a great day. On this day our driver was very clear about the stops we’d be making and how much time we had at each stop. Lunch was included on this day as well and was very good. Our driver was very informative, the only drawback is that there are no services for hearing impaired guests. The highlight was Bill, our boat tour skipper and croc hunter. He was so energized about the Daintree and about crocs, my son was hanging on his every word. All in all, we had a great time as each day was completely different in theme/ modes of transport and types of animals encountered.
We took the Great Barrier Reef cruise intending on going in the semi-submersible but found out it wasn't working after the boat left port. Extremely rough ride and the only way to see the reef was by snorkelling which was difficult since we are older and not good swimmers. Disappointing. Kuranda trip was awesome and worthwhile. We drove up to the ferry only to find out that the bus couldn't go on and so we couldn't go to Cape a Tribulation which was the point of the trip. Driver had to find alternate eating and we went to a pub which was probably better than the one that came with the trip.
The tour out onto the reef was just small enough that I didn't feel like I was on large company tour. The staff was incredibly friendly and you could tell that they all worked well together. I was nervous about going into the water, but I did a 30-minute "Guided Reef Tour" and they really helped put me at ease. I was a solo traveler, and I met a few others who were also doing some solo trips. I later did a second reef trip with a different company, and in comparison to this one, it was awful. They really go above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. The Rainforest tour was wonderful. There were 12 of us on a bus with a tour guide and we all really got to know one another. The tour guide gave us information about the region and the forest, wildlife and such. He also made many fun jokes and told some hilarious and interesting stories. He kept us all in good spirits despite the 45-degree Celsius heat. The Kuranda railway was gorgeous, little stops along the way had amazing views. The Skyrail trip was canceled before I got the chance to ride it due to extreme heat, but the company managed the refunds and/or rescheduling with very little issue.
The crew and service were amazing. Highly reccomend this trip for those who sant to experience far north Queensland. TIP: take the sea sickness tablets even if you think you're ok!!!
Highly recommended. The reef cruise is fun. Kuranda scenic railway is also a must see. The last day at Cape Tribulation is a lot of drive but lots of fun. The guide was very informative
All three of these tours were well worth the time and money, with excellent staff, interesting activities, and good equipment. The Evolution was a great boat for the reef trip, and Katie, Genevieve, and Sally made the Great Barrier Reef experience even more enjoyable. The other two outings provided plenty of exposure to many of the Australian animals we came to see, as well as some magnificent scenery. We are pleased that we chose this combo.
Snorkling in the Great Barrier Reef was a bucket list item my husband and I checked off with great joy last fall. The cruise took us to a beautiful, isolated portion of it, and we spent a couple of hours doing something I'd only dreamed of in all my 63 years. ... The Kuranda Scenic Railway was yet another not-to-be-missed experience, if you're in that part of Australia.
The great barrier reef is amazing and so was the crew of the Evolution. Everyone was very helpful and concerned with everyones safety. 2nd day on the train alot of history so beautiful. 3rd day walked the rain forest. Our tour guide luke was great. All and all a great 3 days.
The Great Barrier Reef cruise and the Kuranda Scenic Railway was absolutely amazing! I would highly suggest it! The 3rd day to Cape Tribulation was a very long drive that I could have done without. The guide was good but the drive was just very long and exhausting.
My wife and I went to Queensland as part of our honeymoon and booked 3 tours with Down Under Tours. We had an amazing experience and each day tour was unique and memorable in it's own way. The Kuranda train and skyrail was enjoyable and we got to see a lot of the major Australian wild life at the top including holding a Koala and feeding wallabies and kangaroos. The Daintree rainforest excursion was very fun and informative. Our guide Tom, was hilarious and passionate as well knowledgeable about the rainforest. Finally, our day trip to the Great Barrier Reef was unforgettable. The crew was very friendly and accommodating, and clearly took safety seriously. If traveling to Queensland, I would highly recommend using Down Under Tours. They're very professional, and provide a great experience in learning about Northern Australia and Queensland.
Snorkeling at the reef was excellent. The other 2 days were good but long with a lot of driving to Daintree and Cape Tribulation.
This three day package is really good value and gives excellent first impressions into the local top tourist attractions. All tours were professionally and very well run (with friendly and welcoming staff) - yes, it is all a bit touristy and some attractions were crowded at times but that is obviously the nature of the beast. For me, I now know much better where to spend more time on a next trip (more snorkeling and more rain forest walking). I was very happy with the all around experience.

The boat was beautiful and very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful in every way. We brought our own snorkel gear, but theirs was better so we used theirs. They offered coffee and snacks in the AM on the way to the reef and a full lunch buffet on the trip to the second reef. They watched out for all of us in the water and getting on and off the boat ramp. The organization was beyond wonderful. They also had a submerged portion of the trip for a nominal fee for those of us without waterproof cameras and also offered waterproof cameras to use for a fee. Besides all this, there was entertainment and sing along on the way back to Cairns. Highly recommended.

This was an absolutely fabulous trio of tours. We enjoyed the Great Barrier Reef, although to be honest, I must admit I expected to see more colour on the reef, perhaps naively. Divers we spoke to subsequently told us that the level of bleaching the process where the coral os dying is quite significant this year. It is sad to see. Having said that, the staff on the boat Operated by Down Under Dives were excellent.

We loved the Kuranda Railway Tour. It is beautiful. The train trip is lovely, the commentary interesting and the area scenic. The village at the top is very pretty. We visited Birdworld while there and enjoyed that. The trip back down to Smithfield Station via the cable car was spectacular. The rain forest is beneath you, way beneath you!

The third day we went to The Wildlife Habitat, Port Douglas which was excellent. We continued on to the Mossman Gorge. Unfortunately, the weather affected us here. We were building up to the arrival some hours later of Cyclone Nora. We continued on to the ferry over to the Daintree Rain Forest @nd on to Cape Tribulation where we enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Cape Tribulation Beach Retreat, followed by some time on the beach.after that, we continued on to enjoy a cruise on the Daintree River, looking for crocodiles. Unfortunately, this is not the best time of year for spotting crocs, although we did see a number of baby crocs. Following this, we returned to Cairns, arriving at around 5.30 to 6 pm.

Each days tour was great. All three were amazing experiences.

,

Great way to see a lot of Cairns in a short period of time.

All of these excursions were amazing. Well worth the money. Plenty to see and do. Transportation to and from our hotel was, on time, convenient and comfortable. The Great Barrier Reef is dying so if you want to see it now is the time to do it. The boat cruise to the reef was comfortable and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint was it was Chinese New Year and the boat was very crowded. Another issue was the number of activities happening at the same time made it consfusing and frustrting for those of us interested I just snorkelling. Scuba diving lessons, glass bottom boat rides, helicopter rides, various levels of swimmers and snorkels. Space was very crowded in order to supervise but that meant limited space in swimming area. Non swimmers were dangerous to swimmers. They would grab and push people out of their way. I would recommend limiting the number of activities and or number of people allowed. The back of the boat should be cleared of people sitting on the stairs and taking selfies, and generally hanging around watching. They hindered passage from people trying to get in the water and out of the water.

Kuranda is a beautiful place.

Cape Tribulation is another Aussie experience worth exploring. Our party of 4 felt this excursion was worth it.

Highly recommend down under cruise and dive. The boat evolution super comfy for the ride to the reef. Crew absolutely awesome in every regard. Had a fantastic day snorkling the GBR. Thanks guys for helping tick one of the bucketlist. Will definately book my next trip through you!

Tour was very good, Enjoyed very much, well organized.

Loved the Reef and Cape Tribulation. Kuranda ride is a little boring and nothing to do in the city

Great experience. The best reef adventure on a first class boat. Well worth the money and great value for 3 full days.

First day at the reef was ok, but having visited a lot of reefs all around the world I had tons of expectations. Sadly much of the corals had lost colour, or was simply dead. But the fish was still there, largest ones I ever saw, and there were a lot of anemones and big clams as well. The boat was crowded, a lot of people who could barely swim and bumped into me several times in the water.
The second day was at Kuranda, nice view from a slow train up and rainforest walks. All paved and nice, almost too nice for a person like me who is used to the real deal where you practically walk on animal tracks on muddy and slippery mud and leaves. The nicest ride was the cable car back, that is a must do experience.
Third day was just so so, we wanted to see the Cassowary in the wild but had to settle for the ones at the zoo park, which was nice. We hoped to see a lot of animals, but did not really succeed. But the rainforest and the views were amazingly beautiful in itself, we loved the creaks and the pre-historic trees.

If you are an experienced nature trekking -animal spotting globetrotter you will not be satisfied. This trip is for general tourists who wants to have a comfortable vacation nothing wrong with that, and not adventures.

The trip was good, but the Chef was very rude on a request for vegetarian food. This made the whole cruise experience unpleasant. Please try to understand that It is How you say that matters. I am very disappointed after booking this cruise and taking along my parents.
