A great day, with breakfast, lunch and lots of food tastings you will definitely not go home hungry. A good mix of spots, the huge fig tree amazing, and the peacock showing off at Mt uncle's distillery. Chris B was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Our guide Chris was a gem he engaged with all the participants knew everyone’s name and dug out some of their history. The food stops were plentiful with savoury sweet delicious bites along the way History and perspective on the land peoples and places as we travelled. All questions welcomed and if Chris didn’t know the answer another traveller jumped in to add details Chris was an amazing guide jovial thoughtful knowledgeable and a ton of fun The food and locations were stellar. Going to a participants home Stuart’s was something surreal. I bought a lot of extra goodies at a number of the stops had items shipped home to Canada enjoyed our other tour mates The website really should talk about the sing along on the drive home nothing like classic 70s tunes to keep everyone engaged through the traffic and construction …..sweet Caroline …. We have shared photos comments on our travel blog with a host of friends from Canada and talked to the front desk staff at the Crystalbrook Bailey about what a great experience we had Brilliant day
Chris B was great, had a great day and met some great ppl. Only picky thing can fault (not that big deal) at the last stop we were told we could choose 2 I've cream flavours but was brought out a cup with flavours i didn't fancy
Tour organisers were very good. The day was really enjoyable. Every experiences were unique to the area.
Excellent tour guide with Chris B. and each stop was perfect! Definitely would recommend for those who want to get to know the Tablelands.
This was a great tour all around the Atherton tablelands, lots of great food, fresh produce, and good drinks! Chris was amazing, super funny and entertaining and everyone had a great time listening to him talk about the history of the area as we drove around. Beautiful scenery and great stops all around while getting to support local businesses. 10/10 ♥️
This was a nice tour that included a lot of food and drink opportunities. Chris also taught us about the farming done in the area- lots of sugarcane, fruit, and other vegetables. Breakfast at Lake Barrine Teahouse was definitely the highlight of the day. It was a gorgeous setting with the best food (maybe the best I have eaten my entire trip) and a pretty latte. The other stops included a personal home where we sampled many local products, a trip to a store where we could buy them, a lunch of kangaroo, crocodile, and crayfish ("red claws"), a distillery tasting room (also gorgeous, on a farm property with llamas, peacocks, and goats), a fruit stand, and an ice cream shop. I didn't care for any of the wine or liquor I sampled, but am glad I had the opportunity to try flavors that are different from what is sold at home. Chris also helped us spot a platypus! He let us take our time and watch it for a while as it swam around and kept popping up in different parts of the lake. Itwas much smaller than I expected!
Fantastic day out with loads of different and interesting experiences. The guide Chris was very informative and caring.
A small 10 seater with 2 Aussies and 8 Americans, from 4 groups who did not know each other beforehand. This made for a great combination and a magic day. Driver/guide Chris B was a delight and a wealth of info. Breaky and lunch were incredible and all 7 stops for tastings and experiences make this a trip not to be missed. Even saw platypus. We gave it 10/10
Great entertainment and great places we visited on the day trip! Highly recommended!! Super friendly service. Recommend to any person, couple, family
Amazing opportunity to taste all the local food, wine and spirits by small local growers/sellers. A real treat and totally worthwhile day exploring. Chris was helpful and fun and I give this trip an A+.
A fantastic way to experience the Atherton region and get to taste a huge range of the local produce, go to places that you may otherwise miss and meet local who are passionate about their products.
I went yesterday on a food and wine tasting tour with the amazing Chris B and Andrea and what a fantastic experience it was! Right from the start I could see that Chris had an extensive knowledge and understanding of the region and its history which he shared so eloquently in his warm and friendly tone of voice, with a bit os Aussie humour thrown in of course!) On our journey he explained in great detail all the places we were to visit, and each and every place exceeded my expectations. Chris navigated the Gillies Range expertly, enabling me to feel safe on the winding roads and he and Andrea were so gracious in helping me to embark and disembark from the tour bus, as they could see that I needed help. Our food and wine stops were literally out of this world, exceeding all of my expectations. Chris and Andrea were both very gracious to shop owners allowing them explain the history of their businesses as well as the way in which we could use their products. This opened up a new world to me as I was taught how to use Davidson's plum jam on my roast chicken! The venues were obviously chosen by Chris meticulously so that we travelers could get the most out of each experience. I am not usually a wine drinker, and Chris was sensitive to this as he gently and kindly encouraged, but never pressured me to drink what was on offer. Chris and Andrea, with the help of the kind and caring Leone, created a 'family' feel to the tour, making sure that our overseas visitors from South Korea and the UK felt comfortable and fully included. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience, one I will always look back and reflect on. I strongly recommend this tour which has something for everyone, whether you are a local in Cairns, an interstate visitor or from another country. Thank you so much, Chris B and team for a fabulous day. Bev Brett
My family and I totally enjoyed this tour. The driver cum guide is Brigette, she is very knowledgable, helpful and also a very safe driver. The pace of this tour is relaxing and not rush at all, we have enough time at all the places she brought us to. The people at the Atherton Tablelands are very friendly, the food & wine tastings are yummy and full of local favour. We managed to do some shopping of local products, such as cheese, chocolates, wines, fruits, nuts & local souvenirs. The prices are surprisingly reasonable and may be cheaper when compared to some shops in Cairns city. I highly recommend this tour for visitors to Cairns.
Whilst some of the journey did overlap sites seen on other adventures, the food offered was different and tasted good. didn't need dinner after all the food we had on the day. Our guide was lovely and she did a fantastic job, welcoming, informative, and ensuring we all were enjoying the moment.
Bridget was our guide as we ventured through the Atherton Tablelands, tasting a range of delicious locally grown food along the way. An excellent day out and great value for money.
The trip is a must-do for any foodie visiting Cairns. Journey away from the local beaches up into the hills to learn about this area's rich culinary traditions. You will try everything from local delicacies like kangaroo BBQ, crocodile pastries and wines to more standard fares like a succulent breakfast, chocolate and ice cream. You will also visit an amazing distillery run by a guy from Germany. Highly recommended, Chris was a great guide!
An absolute amazing day of getting to know all the local produce and eating and drinking our way around the Atherton Tablelands .Chris B was a wealth of knowledge and kept us entertained all day . It was great only having a small group. I would definitely recommend this tour ❤️
Great day - well planned and great tour guide. Would recommend to anyone who wants to sample and see local produce. I will recommend to friends
It is well worth every cent - we had a great day our with our driver, Chris and Bosun - both entertained us with a very interesting informative commentary about the area and its history - the food was excellent with the tasting plates being a stand out. We learnt an amazing amount about not only the food but where it comes from. Just a plea - if the driver is delivering this fascinating info, please don’t talk - save those conversations for the food stops.
It was a great day with a good size group to make getting around easy. We loved our day. Chris was a great tour guide.
We got so lucky to have Bridget as our tour guide and she was just incredible. She was so personable, knowledgeable, and funny. She made sure we maintained a schedule without us feeling rushed and she was so accommodating to each and every physical and dietary need. The food was delicious and unique and we learned so much about the area from her and the vendors. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cairns.
We had a great day tasting our way through the Atherton Tablelands ! We were looking for something different to do as a tour out of Cairns and this exceeded our expectations. We visited so many different places in the one day and the bite-sized pieces we tasted along the way were just enough so that we didn't eat too much. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon icecream were decent servings too and the distillery visit helped to wash it all down! The highlight though was being welcomed into the home of Yungaburra locals Winter & Mann and tasting some of the best local produce they had sourced. It was good to see some different scenery inland from Cairns as we drove around as well (although definitely don't eat anything for breakfast beforehand as the initial drive is extremely windy - urgh)
The tour is amazing, our second time to go on the tour. First time 2023 then June 2025. We were lucky to get Bridget twice for our tours. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and funny 😊 we had a blast. This tour we had a family member who needed a walker and Bridget did everything possible to make the tour comfortable for us. The tour is a taste of beautiful food producers produce and products. We love to support Australian producers and this tour is perfect for that 😊
Wow - what a day trip! Our guide Chris was truly excellent. What a storyteller and guide - he made every minute of this day enjoyable. The number of stops and delectable items to eat and try were just above and beyond. Would absolutely highly recommend this day trip! Will have great memories of this for years to come.
Absolutely AMAZING and fun tour while staying in Cairns on our honeymoon!!! Chris B. was the perfect tour guide - he was a wealth of information about the history of the area, the food, and answered any and all questions we could think of. A wonderful person to spend the day with. The food was divine, and we loved being able to support small and local businesses. We saw platypus as advertised on the tour, as well as many more historical spots in the Atherton Tablelands area. You are seamlessly picked up right at your hotel, and the van you travel in is spacious and clean. We could not speak more highly of this experience, it is a must do during your time in Tropical North Queensland Australia!
Brett was amazing start to end. Picked us up on time, small group 👌 Started with an amazing breakfast & continued throughout the day. We absolutely adored our stop in Yungaburra & bought some fabulous food & unusual chopping board. Next we went to Platypus Park for lunch, we saw several Platypus which even surprised Brett. Then several more stops & ended the day with some gorgeous Ice Cream Wonderful tour so pleased we went Thanks again Brett
Picked up from our hotel (Casino) and we instantly knew the trip was going to be entertaining. Brett was full of knowledge about the towns and the entire trip kept all 12 of us involved. Highly recommend this trip you won’t be disappointed.
This tour was an amazing experience. We were picked up at our hotel by our driver and tour guide Chris, and taken to our first stop of the day, breakfast at Gillies, about an hour from Cairns. One of the things that we liked about the tour was that distances between stops were short, and there were rest stops at every one. Chris is a great driver and guide, and his commentary was very informative, and he didn’t try to hurry us at each stop. Each stop was timed pretty well, except that Gilliie’s was not ready for us, although there was a reserved sign on our table for 9:15, and we arrived before that. The food was very good though. The rest of the tour went off without a hitch, and we loved all of the tasting samples. Lunch was very good. Really enjoyed the kangaroo skewers and prawns. The platypus were a no-show, but you can’t expect wild creatures to show up on demand. The gin at the distillery was very good. Large selection, including a liquor made from blue agave, which resembled tequila, but they can’t call it that because that is a Mexican product. We finished up with ice cream, and got back to our hotel on time. I’ve taken many other food and wine tours in Australia, and this is one of the best. Highly recommended
Full day of education and food! A lovely day trip. Very comfortable transport, guides had many stories and fielded all our questions.
Brett's tour was awesome! Brett is very knowledgeable about the area and passionate to support the local economy. His engagement with our group was great. I would highly recommend this tour. We were amazed at how much we did in one short day. We saw a little of everything...and tasted a lot of great food!
What a fantastic day. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was a wonderful day. Beautifully paced, did not feel rushed whatsoever at any time. Chris is warm and friendly and genuinely cares for his tour group members and does everything humanly possible to ensure everyone enjoys themselves on the tour. All included stops had very friendly staff. Servings were generous and definitely not skimped on. The day was magic. After doing many tours, this one stands out as one of the best. I’m fairly certain even if someone is a bit fussy and has high expectations they would be absolutely delighted with this tour.
A great day out with tour guide Chris, who kept us entertained and shared lots of knowledge about the Tablelands, its agriculture, and food producers. All the food and drink was great as was the scenery. Chris managed our group efficiently but we never felt rushed. It was a very congenial group of fellow travelers too. Well done!
We had a fabulous day out with our tour guide, Brett. He’s lots of fun, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about this stunning area of FNQ. Brett took us to seven places we’d never have had the same experience at, had we simply driven around the area ourselves. If you love meeting interesting people, sampling delicious food, buying high quality locally made products and produce, and supporting local artisans, then we can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Thanks Brett for a truly memorable experience! We can’t wait to come back and visit with you again. Cheers, Leanne and Dave (the not so accurate bend counter)
Brett and Andrea provided a great experience. They were both very knowledgeable and friendly. The day was well planned and ran smoothly. I can't think of anything they could improve on from the experience we had. The food was great, we got to try lots of foods and saw a lot of the Tablelands. We even saw two platypuses.
We went on this tour today with Chris as our very friendly and welcoming tour guide. We had an amazing experience and went to so many places we could never have been able to see otherwise. I would totally recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Cairns and would like to see a bit more outside of what this beautiful area has to offer, especially if you’re only here for a couple of days. It was very good value and time well spent.
I had high expectations that were exceeded. The journey up the twisty highway was fine, some might be a bit uncomfortable, but Andrea drove carefully and all was well. The stops were fabulous. Very generous with tastings. Chris entertained and informed us all the way which was a bonus. We had some truly delicious meals and experiences. I would recommend this to anyone interested in food and the Atherton Tablelands.
Had a great time on this tour. Bridget was a fantastic guide, informative friendly chatty enthusiastic. More a food tour than wine tour but had some interesting fruit wines and some great gins. The food was plentiful and very good. The tour clearly support small local businesses and I was really pleased I went.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our full day Tasting Adventure to the Atherton Tablelands. Our driver and guide Bridgit was very pleasant and knowledgable, thank you Bridgit. We really enjoyed the variety of spectacular scenery, breakfast, lunch and local treats featuring a huge variety of local produce which would rate highly anywhere in the world. We also appreciated the extra effort of our pick up and drop off from Trinity Beach.
This was a fun experience tasting new wines and especially food that I would have never tried. The staff was friendly and our tour guide was fun and informative. Would highly recommend
The communication before the tour was amazing. Pickup was on time and our guide was funny and informative. The tour itself was what was promised. Wonderful food and drink. Would strongly recommend this tour.
Absolutely stunning day out. So much variety of foods and drinks. Met so.many friendky and interesting people. Very different experience for us. We would never have found these out of the way places on our own. A tour is only as good as the fellow guests and the tour guide. Bridget was the best ever. Seriously, what a personality and couldn't do enough for everyone on board. It's not easy to talk for almost 10 hrs and retain the interest of all on board who played their part and interacted so well. A shout out to Sarah, Rosa and Ian. We saw a lot and learned a lot. A genuine 5 star experience. Mike and Dot.
My wife and I both agreed that this was the favorite tour of our Australian honeymoon. Brett was incredibly funny and informative and the local eats/drinks were fantastic. Couldn’t have asked for a better time.
Excellent day with Bridget as our brilliant tour guide for the day. Extremely knowledgeable and so much fun. Plenty to eat, drink and see. A full day of entertainment. Do not have dinner plans for the same day, you won't need it. Highly recommend this experience.
Our Outstanding Guide was Brigett... A beautiful area to explore plus an exploration of your tastebuds with all local foods and drinks. I loved that I could see a more rural environment and visit with the friendly locals. I highly recommend this tour.
What a cool day!!! Bridget our guide was awesome, she has atleast a library of books to write given her knowledge of the area!!! Destinations were great, food and tastings epic....you won't go home hungry that's a given!!
Bridget was a fantastic, enthusiastic, and informative guide. This is an all day affair where you will get to learn about the wonderful region around Cairns with tons of history and facts about the wildlife you may encounter. Get ready to eat and no two stops are the same, you’re going to get a taste of everything this scenic and enchanting area has to offer. Highly recommend!
This was a fantastic trip we were shown great countryside and a great selection for foods and wine. Our tour guide Bridget was extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable about the locals foods and point of interest. We would recommend this trip to anyone it was great great great.
You will not be hungry on this trip. Brett and Bridget were wonderful hosts showcasing the gorgeous Tablelands and the food that comes with it. You definitely won't leave hungry either and will get an all around breathtaking view of the landscrap.
We had the most excellent full day tasting tour - from pick up at our hotel in Palm Cove first thing - to drop off later that afternoon! Brett was a fabulous tour guide - happy to share his love and knowledge of the region with us! We did the Saturday tour and it ended up being just 7 on the bus, plus Brett. We loved that this tour also was for adults only! And because we were in a smaller group and the traffic was kind - we got to see more a little more of the Atherton tablelands than we would otherwise from a scenery perspective. The pace of the tour was excellent - all the stops were well spaced so that you didn't actually realise how much driving was happening. Brett's knowledge of all the places we visited was brilliant and we especially loved getting to visit stops that bigger operators are not able to (like Rainforest Bounty). Our first stop was breakfast at The Teahouse on Lake Barrine and we got to pick from quite a few options prior to the tour start, so that it was ready at the venue not long after we arrived. I chose the bruschetta and it was hands down the most beautiful tomato based bruschetta I've ever had! BUT I'm told that the smoked bacon is totally not to be missed - and my husband concurs! This definitely set us up for the day - with lovely tastings at all the stops. Another highlight was lunch at the Australian Platypus Park where we got to observe Platypus in their natural habitat - it was amazing! AND then the lunch was a fabulous mix of small items on your plate - the best (for me) was the kangaroo kebab, the meat was SO tender, and I know that can be hard to achieve with roo meat! But everything was REALLY good tbh - nothing was left on the plate, that's for sure! In the afternoon our stops included Gallo Dairyland (Omg the cheese is divine! As well as the small handmade chocolates) and Mt Uncle Distillery where I ended up getting their Ooray Gin made from Davidson Plum - quite delicious (Ooray is the aboriginal word for Davidson Plum) Totally a brilliant day and I can 100% recommend! And as an added bonus - a percentage of each ticket goes to the Reforest project - every tree is planted on the Atherton Tablelands in the Mabi Forest and helps remove the CO2 impact we create as well as preserving native plants and wildlife.
