A fantastic experience. We were sceptical if the airplane will be good but we were really surprised. We went over so many different reefs with spectacular views. Although our first flight was cancelled due to weather they were kind enough to book on a day and tour of our choice. Extremely gracious company giving us update on the status of weather and finally took us on a fabulous ride. Special thanks to all the staff of Great Barrier Reef scenic flights

Had an awesome experience with Daintree Air Services - all the staff were super helpful, happy and informative! What an incredible sightseeing experience - our pilot Cameron was great fun and very knowledgeable! We were lucky with air traffic being busy - so had extra time in the sky! On landing Cameron and the other pilot in our group Charlie were great taking photos for us all - even including my husband who didn’t fly!

It was amazing, polite was very informative about what and where we were flying over and had humour as well, well worth doing an experience you won’t forget

Fun and a great experience. I wanted to see the Great Barrier Reef but not wanting to go in the water and this was ideal. Owen the pilot was excellent, educated us through the whole tour. He spotted a whale for us to see, when whale season was over. Money well spent.

Our airplane tour over the Great Barrier Reef was a fantastic experience! The entire crew was personable & efficient. Our pilot, Jake, was great! He provided us a comfortable flight and shared information about the reef and its surrounding areas. The sunny day made the colors so vibrant! Seeing the reef from above really gave us an appreciation for its beauty and vastness. We couldn't have asked for a better way to see this natural wonder than from the air!

I always try to plan carefully my activities during the trips and definitely it was just right to start exploring Great Barrier Reef from the sky to get the full scale view of this natural wonder before cruising! I was hesitating whether to take a helicopter or a plane and finally made a decision towards Daintree Air Services 40 minutes scenic flight. Departures are from Aeroglen, actually just around the corner from Cairns airport, or just about 10 minutes ride from Cairns city center. In my case it became the very first activity right after arriving to Cairns airport, the very first page of this exiting Great Barrier Reef journey! A decent long enough flight with live commentary on board was a wonderful way to discover the Reef, Green Island, Fitzroy Island, which I am planning to visit next. Breathtaking views, almost private jet, well organized activities, professional and handsome pilots! As a practical tip, a transfer to/from Cairns city center or airport can be provided for a very reasonable price.

Enjoyed flying with Daintree Air Services for my first scenic flight ✈️ of the reef for above! The organisation was great and they welcomed me in a friendly way and gave us the safety briefing. In no time it was time to fly and enjoy the small aircraft allocated for this trip. The seating 💺 is distributed according to weight and balance and was able to get a great view of either window seat 💺! The live pilot commentary was great to watch out the natural wonders below us and marble at the beautiful reef from the sky! We visited several areas of the reef including the Green island 🏝 and several outer reef locations where could catch a panoramic view of the reef stretching for miles against deep and light blue colours! The views were superb and the experience was exciting and well worth the trip! I would definitely recommend this adventure trip to whoever is visiting the reef and wants to get a birds 🐦 eye 👁 view! Arrived at Daintree Air services to a warm welcome, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great pre flight safety meeting prior to our trip, which was excellent. The flight over the great barrier reef was amazing and at low altitude of between 1 to 1.5 thousand feet, you could see everything so clearly. Our pilot Justin was very informative, which made the trip really good.. the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. We would highly recommend this company they made our day something we will never forget.. Steven, Joanne and Kim.. brilliant 👏

It was so excited experience. When I arrived early, they changed my flight to one leaving an hour earlier. In addition I was soaking wet from the rain when someone kindly spoke to me and lent me a towel.Thank you very much !

This is an excellent option if you want to have either an introduction of the main reefs around Cairns or just recap the reefs you visited during your vacation. I used this as a closing for my visit to Cairns. You get a real appreciation on the size of the reefs since you rarely see the entire things when on a boat.

Excellent tour! Daintree Air Services were fantastic. The weather on the day of our planned tour was unpleasant. The staff kept us fully informed of conditions and would not take off unless conditions were good and our viewing experience could be guaranteed. Fortunately (just as we were about to accept the offer to cancel) the skies cleared and we were able to head out. What an incredible experience. the views of the city and the reef were exceptional and well worth the time and expense. Not to mention the thrill of taking off and landing at an international airport by the pilot's side. And after the flight they shuttled us back to our hotel for a very small charge. I was on this excursion by myself. All seven passengers had a window seat our captain/guide was accommodating to make sure each side got great picture opportunities. Our weather was clear and we saw six reefs. I have already recommended this to my friends.

Today, we had the privilege of flying over the Great Barrier Reef with Daintree Air Services, and it was quite possibly the best $478 we have ever spent. From the moment we arrived to the second we climbed into the aircraft and soared above the reef, the entire experience was an absolute pleasure. The staff were relaxed, friendly, and professional, and most importantly, they delivered exactly what was promised on the itinerary. I was lucky enough to sit in the co-pilot seat, which gave me spectacular views from both the front of the plane and the side window. Speaking of the windows, they were large enough to take in incredible views of the reef below, and the pilot provided informative commentary throughout the flight. Another nice little addition was that they also offered a drop-off service back to our resort for a small fee, which made the whole experience even easier and more convenient. We loved swimming in the ocean around the reef, but seeing it from above was an entirely different experience. It added a whole new dimension to our appreciation of this natural wonder, and we would 100% recommend Daintree Air Services for this flight experience.

We booked this trip through the Viator App and the whole booking process was easy to follow with subsequent communications being excellent. This is a must do trip while in Cairns as the Great Barrier Reef is quite simply stunning from the air with all the different aspects and colours it has to offer. Prior to the flight the safety protocols were clearly explained and the required equipment provided. The pilot of the plane was very informative about the reef and made sure that everybody got good views of various parts of it. I would highly recommend this trip to anybody as seeing the reef from the air is an incredible experience, this was a bucket list thing of mine and it was everything and more that I thought it would be.

An absolutely unforgettable experience! Seeing the Great Barrier Reef from the air was breathtaking — the colours of the coral and ocean looked unreal. The flight was smooth, the pilot was knowledgeable and pointed out famous reef spots along the way, and the views were incredible from start to finish. Photos honestly don’t do it justice. If you’re visiting Queensland, this scenic flight is 100% worth it and was one of the highlights of the trip.

The team at Daintree were very professional, and the man who gave us the safety briefing was hilarious and very entertaining. The plane is a little cramped, and it was hot on the day we went, but the view is worth it, and it's an excellent way for those who don't want to spend hours on a boat to see part of the reef.

Highlight of the trip! Huge thanks to Harvey, our pilot, for the informative and entertaining commentary during the flight and for playing photographer on our return. He pointed out all the sights and went to the effort of showing us the eagle ray he spotted on one of the reefs, dipping and turning the plane to make sure we could see it and get a good pic. He was very attentive and happy to explain to another passenger (with an interest in piloting) about the plane and instruments. All the staff were funny and keen for us to have a great time. Highly recommend Daintree Air.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The views were absolutely incredible and nothing you could ever picture until you see it in real life. The flight was excellent, and we got to see the Great Barrier Reef just as we had hoped. Pilot Chris was very attentive and helpful, pointing out key sights during the flight and making sure to fly over areas so that both sides of the plane had a clear view. At the end of the flight, they offered us and the other passengers an affordable transfer to the hotel, which we gladly accepted.

We just finished our flight with Harvey. We had some nervous passengers and Harvey was very reassuring. Throughout the whole flight Harvey was very informative and made a very soft landing.

My wife isn’t too keen on boats, so we opted for this options as an opportunity to see one of the world’s natural wonders. We were very fortunate in being able to book this trip on the morning, flying out midday that day. Wow! What an amazing experience. The trip lasted around 40-50 minutes. We arrived a half hour early as requested, where there was a safety briefing in the waiting area. The plane we took was quite small, with six passengers. Everyone had their own head phones to hear the personal commentary by the pilot. The pilot took time to ensure both sides of the plane had photo opportunities, turning about where necessary. He also explained some of the reef features such as the sand islands and developing reef areas. We saw a hammer head shark, turtles and some dolphins also. It was a great experience that has been recommended by friends. We really loved it too!

I had an AMAZING flight with Daintree Air Services over the great barrier reef and various islands off the coast of Cairns. Seriously, viewing it from above is better than you could imagine - definitely one of the best things I've done in Cairns (and Aus as a whole). It's expensive, but worth every penny. To make it even better, I was travelling solo and so ended up being allowed to sit up front with the pilot - I didn't even realise this was on my bucket list til it happened, but it really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and such a cool way to explore the GBR from above. Ethan, our pilot, was very knowledgable and entertaining - thank you! 🫶 The company also offered a shuttle back into Cairns for $5pp after the flight which is a great service!

The reception lady discriminates Chinese! This German blonde lady yelled at us saying "I always have problem with you Chinese people "and slapped the table just because we tried to clarify why we were asked to pay extra reschedule fee where our booking agency told us no extra fee is need. The red face French pilot who seems to be the lead teamed together with her and asked us to ignore who said what and claimed he has been to the war where he saw real stuff. He requested us to just pay the extra fee and made it all about money, where our real anger is we feel like being discriminated. I would suggest Chinese to stay away from this company.

I booked this scenic flight for my parents 60th birthday. They were visiting Aus from London and they absolutely loved it. Jessie was our pilot and he was super informative and lovely. The GBR was stunning. 100% would recommend!

This was my first time on a propeller plane, and I was a little nervous. I didn't need to be - the pilot was very re-assuring and the flight was very smooth. The views were just incredible !! to top it off at the end of the flight they offered a very inexpensive transfer ($5 AUD) back to Cairns. Would highly recommend.

The meeting point is easy to reach by Uber. There is also ample parking for those who drive. The staff were courteous and friendly when we arrived, with enough seats in the receiving area for participants. There was ample time to take pics with the plane too before and after take off. The Great Barrier Reef was amazing from up above. The commentaries from the captain was also informative and helpful. The flight was not too long nor too short. It was also very smooth sailing and didn't feel scary at all. I definitely recommend doing this activity to get a perspective of how huge the GBR is so you can better appreciate it while doing your snorkeling/diving.

If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, this is it! The crew is incredibly friendly, and the views are simply breathtaking. I can't recommend it enough!
