Officially opening our doors on July 1, 2021, The Benson Hotel has taken over a previous hotel. The property has been given new life from its external facade, through the lobby, to the deco-inspired restaurant and bar on level three, overlooking the city skyline. Existing guest rooms have experienced a stage one refresh with new carpet, curtains, paint, and 55" smart TVs in the bathrooms, with furnishing to be refurbished in stage two over the coming months. Located in the heart of the central business district, The Benson Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Convention Center, Reef Casino, reef departure terminals, Esplanade Lagoon, and Promenade. Free WiFi is included. For a more active time, go canoeing or horseback riding. Make your own unique tour of the area with a rented bicycle or car. Return to a favorite drink at the bar, open Tuesday–Saturday. The Benson Bar & Restaurant is a combination of relaxation and sophistication, offering an array of cocktails, modern dining, and local delicacies. Breakfast is available from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. every day. The bar opens from 3 p.m. until late on Friday and Saturday, with the restaurant serving meals from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. It also offers outdoor seating to enjoy the tropical climate.

Recently stayed here for a work conference. The location an amentities were excellent and suited my needs perfectly.
The room was spacious, bed was comfortable (no bad back in the morning a bonus for me) and the close proximity to local bars and restuarants was very handy.
Overall I would recommend staying here on a short stay in Cairns city.
The Benson is always my first choice when staying in Cairns. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and I genuinely get a great night’s sleep every time I stay.
I’ve stayed in many hotels around Cairns, but The Benson has always felt comfortable, welcoming and easy. The location is also so convenient, with some of the best coffee spots nearby and Rusty’s Markets just a short walk away — perfect for a Friday morning breakfast and wander through the markets.
It’s become my go-to place to stay in Cairns, and I’m always happy to come back.
I just want to give a huge shout out to these guys! I had my 50th birthday there on Saturday on The Terrace and it was perfect. Rachel was amazing and the bar staff were brilliant. Special shout out to Facundo behind the bar who had a great sense of humour and happily took care of us all night. Great venue - great staff. Thoroughly recommend!
We are staying at The Benson. The location is perfect, the room is lovely. We were concerned after reading negative reviews, but honestly it's been wonderful. Reception staff have been lovely, and bartender Facundo is a delight! We would love to return for a longer stay. Thank you so much!
