An Unforgettable Birthday Celebration! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently stayed at the Shangri-La Marina Cairns for two nights to celebrate my partner's birthday, and the service was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Before arriving, I had emailed the hotel to get a quote for a bottle of wine and chocolates to surprise him. To my absolute delight, they replied saying they would provide them completely complimentary!The amazing service didn't stop there. We arrived early at 10:30 AM just planning to drop our bags off before the 2:00 PM check-in. The staff surprised us by letting us know our room was already ready. They had also generously upgraded us to a beautiful room with a stunning ocean and marina view, and the complimentary sparkling wine and chocolates were delivered shortly after we settled in.The room was beautiful, the staff were incredibly friendly, the buffet breakfast was delicious, and the pool area was amazing. The team here made our celebration truly unforgettable. We cannot recommend this beautiful resort highly enough and will definitely be back!

An Unforgettable, World-Class Stay! We Were Treated Like Family! Our recent stay at the Shangri-La was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived until the second we checked out, the hospitality was flawless, the location was perfect, and the experience was truly memorable. What truly elevates this hotel is its incredible team. They do not just provide service; they make you feel like family: Kieran (Management): Went completely above and beyond by personally helping my parents install the Shangri-La mobile app and ensuring they could successfully access all of their loyalty points. Alistair (Management): Provided stellar leadership and oversight, ensuring our entire stay was seamless and stress-free. Fede (Horizon Club): Delivered immaculate, attentive service with a warm smile, making every visit to the lounge a pleasure. Sawa (Housekeeping): Maintained our rooms to absolute perfection, with an incredible eye for detail that did not go unnoticed. The staff made my parents’ anniversary and my dad’s birthday unforgettable. They surprised them with thoughtful, special gifts that made them feel incredibly honored and celebrated. It is this level of personal care that sets this hotel apart from any other. The Horizon Club lounge offered a fantastic selection of high-quality, delicious food options throughout the day. They also catered for my gluten free diet. We also had an amazing view of the Marina from our spacious rooms. We cannot recommend the Shangri-La highly enough and cannot wait to return to our home away from home!

Spacious and comfortable rooms, our family had rooms with ocean views overlooking the promenade - quite loud at night with the pub downstairs and during the day with the helipad across the road, but the balcony doors soundproofed the rooms well. Pool was much bigger than a normal hotel pool and lots of lounge chairs to pick from (though some need upgrading). Breakfast was full buffet only, no continental option (& no pancakes which is unusual for a hotel like this - kids weren't happy) and a hefty $38pp for an adult; due to all those reasons, we didn't eat here daily, many cafes just a few minutes walk away. $30/day parking. Close to everything in Cairns, friendly staff. Overall we were really happy we picked this hotel and had a great time, we'd stay here again if we return to Cairns.

We stayed in a horizon club suite. It was lovely and clean but didn't quite look like the pictures on the sites. The staff were wonderful and are an asset to the shangri la. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The horizon club was great and evening canapes and drinks was a lovely bonus. The location is amazing and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. The pool wasn't crowded and a lovely place to be. The only thing I did notice was the robes in the rooms looked neglected and torn.
