I stayed at Palm Royale Cairns for five nights, from 20 to 25 July 2026, and had a very pleasant stay. What I particularly liked was the architecture and overall design of the property. The Mediterranean-inspired buildings are arranged around large tropical gardens and swimming pools, creating a very attractive courtyard-style resort atmosphere that suits the climate of Cairns extremely well. The pool area was the highlight of my stay. My room was on the ground floor with direct access to the pool area, which was especially convenient and made the experience feel much more like staying at a tropical resort than at a conventional city hotel. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping was good, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I found Palm Royale Cairns to offer very good value for money, particularly considering the size of the room, resort-style surroundings and excellent pool facilities. The main drawback was the location outside Cairns CBD, which could be inconvenient without your own transport. Since I had rented a car, this was not a major issue. The hotel does not have its own private parking; parking is available along the roadside near the property, but during my stay I was always able to find a space. The property is also a little dated in places and could benefit from some refurbishment, although this did not detract much from my overall stay.

The only positive about this hotel is good cleaning room service, nice looking clean spa and pool areas . Do not let looks deceive you ! Very high noise levels you're not going to have good night sleep here and if any sleep at all. Lots of yelling late at night and very early mornings. I don't see hotel staff monitoring any of this. No food or drinks in the hotel, only instant coffee in the room, no drinking water. The only thing of value within the walking distance is Cafe 63 Raintrees where you'll find amazing range of tasty foods, amazing staff, service and coffee. Raintree shopping and DFO is 2/10. You need a car / uber to get anywhere of value from here. Overall not worth been here at this hotel, find youself better hotel at better location!!!
Great hotel, has everything you need, and they do room service every day. Massive pool and nice location close to shops. Only downside is that the room is very bright at night due to the lack of curtains on the sliding door. So the light comes thru the slats on the door cover.
I loved the location. There is an ossue with smoking here. Realistically it should be banned. People shouldn't be able to smoke there. Rooms wre comfy. Pools were great. I loved swimming laps. Its not in the center but easy to get to it. I do wish they were a bit more eco friendly though
Not the best area/suburb in Cairns to stay but the hotel made up for that. All staff were lovely and accommodating and had a spot to store luggage for our late flight. Regular housekeeping and the lobby has a convenient little shop for essentials. Nice looking pool. This establishment is noticeably a bit older but still in fairly decent condition for the age.
