Pool is fantastic! Food is excellent and there are numerous options for gluten free and dairy free or vegan options. Drinks are delicious and everything is well priced. Really friendly staff from all over the world. Would highly recommend, especially for a family

We had a "day stay" as our air bnb would not give us a late checkout and our flight was not until 7pm. For a reduced rate you can book the Novotel from 11-5pm. We arrived at 10.30am and our room was ready. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were provided pool towels and our room was comfortable and adequate with WiFi and a large TV. The pool area is a little light on loungers but they all look to have been replaced recently and were clean and comfortable. The pool was great and unheated as most other pools in Cairns. The pool area was well maintained and pleasant and had full sun all day with shaded areas available. The day stay is an exceptional solution for tired travellers such as ourselves who don't fancy wasting a day carting around their luggage and being able to freshen up and shower before our flight was great. My only minor gripe would be the bathroom floor around the toilet needed a better clean. Overall we had a great day at the Novotel! Thank you 😊
As a family who have stayed here before and loved it, we were excited to return. We still had a good holiday and there are many things this hotel does exceptionally well, but this stay left us feeling that the property is starting to show its age and no longer fully reflects its premium price point. We experienced a number of maintenance and service issues during our stay. Our room door did not close properly and required lifting to shut, creating a loud bang each time and occasionally being left ajar by both our children and housekeeping staff. The minibar was also inconsistent in maintaining temperature. In addition, some of the small touches we appreciated on previous visit, such as bathroom amenities, appear to have been removed. Housekeeping often didn't service our room until very late afternoon, and a pair of my son's pyjama shorts was accidentally taken with the laundry and had not been returned despite multiple reports to reception. The pool remains a standout feature, however the surrounding facilities are beginning to deteriorate. Many of the sun loungers were visibly worn and in need of replacement, and there never seemed to be enough seating available due to guests reserving chairs for long periods or just general demand. The adjacent grassed area was also heavily worn. We were additionally disturbed by the frequent clanging of the pool gate at night as guests entered and exited. On a positive note, the bar staff and breakfast team were excellent throughout our stay. The buffet breakfast was a highlight each day, offering a fantastic variety of options, although the dining tables were often sticky. Overall, the hotel still benefits from a fantastic location, a great pool and an excellent buffet breakfast. However, it feels as though investment in maintenance and guest amenities has not kept pace with the room rates. We'd also love to see more family-friendly larger room configurations for those travelling with older children (like the suite but replace sofa with 2 single beds). While we enjoyed our stay, we would need to see some improvements before considering a return visit.
This is our second stay at the Novotel Oasis in Cairns but first time with children. We loved most things about our stay here, however there were a few things that weren’t great. PROS - we found the staff super friendly and a huge shout out to Mel at the breakfast buffet who had our 3 year old so excited to go down to breakfast each morning to talk unicorns with her. - great location. - good variety at the buffet - the kids entertainment was great particularly the 6pm movie! CONS - the pool is freezing. It was nearly impossible to enjoy a morning or afternoon by the pool because once the kids got wet they would be shivering and unable to warm up. - our room had small ants throughout it - room cleaning service came around particularly late in the day. One of the days we returned from dinner at 5:30 and they still had 20 min longer to clean. - only one lift is working in our building and it would take forever to get up or down to our level (the top level). We were told by staff it had been out of order for over a year. - sofa bed extremely uncomfortable We enjoyed our week here and would recommend it to people who don’t mind the very cold pool water
My husband and I had one night here at the end of our week in Cairns with the plan of enjoying the pool area and we certainly did! It really was beautiful with plenty of shade and sun lounges and beanbags and pool bar. Our deluxe room was also great with cloud like pillow and bed. Perfect location to the esplanade with lots of restaurant choices nearby. Parking was easy and affordable at $10 for Accor members. Highly recommend
