The island and resort are beautiful, but the ferry logistics need serious improvement. Our booking indicated that ferry transfers were included, yet our arrival time didn't align with the available schedule, so we had to purchase additional tickets. When our flight was delayed and we missed the ferry, we couldn't get a refund for the unused tickets. If ferry transfers are advertised as included, the schedule limitations and potential extra costs should be made much clearer before booking.

The location is ideal, but the resort itself is very run down. When you include all the additional inclusions with the nightly price, it’s pretty decent value for money. Unfortunately the breakfast buffet was very below standard. Mushrooms tasted terrible, bacon was cold and undercooked every day, hash browns soggy, olives tasted half rotten. We were a good size group staying for several days and breakfast was bad each day. Service was generally great but chefs need improving.
From the moment we disembarked everything was wonderful, including the sea turtle that came to say hello as we walked along the jetty. Our room was lovely, cool and immaculate, lovely bed and huge bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee and always more at the guest day room (plus good sized paper cups) … The staff were super friendly from the gorgeous lady in reception who was so knowledgeable, and Cody working the beach each day. The snorkeling was fantastic both on the island and out at the outer reef. The wood oven pizza was delicious 😋 as was the coffee from the bar at breakfast. One thing that is very obvious is that this island is very importantly not tired …. When you see all the hard work that goes into Getting food, drink, water and electricity out there, plus the maintenance of both the national park and the grounds of the resort. Already re booked for next year. Thank you
Green Island is such a beautiful little slice of paradise and one of my favourite islands to visit in Cairns. We stayed in a Reef Suite, which was spacious and really comfortable, and loved having access to the guest lounge to relax between adventures. We booked our stay through Luxury Escapes, and it was the perfect way to experience everything Green Island has to offer. One of the highlights of our stay was spotting so many turtles while snorkelling around the island. It’s always incredible having those kinds of encounters right on our doorstep! I also really enjoyed dinner at Emerald Restaurant. The perfect way to end a day of exploring the island. I’ll definitely be back soon 😊
Great place to take the family or as a couple. It is AI easy to walk the island as it is 1.6km. We went on glass bottom boat and snorkelled while we were there. Sure to the cyclone a couple of weeks earlier, visibility was a bit cloudy due to fresh water. Is was still good. Once you get past the Seagrass, there is bountiful fish species around coral. There is also many types of birds and we also saw turtles. You can take your own food and drinks but just can't consume in resort.
