Edge Apartments Cairns

First time staying here. The rooms are massive, the location is great, everything is close enough to walk. Highly recommend staying here. So worth the price!

Clean close to city centre 20 minutes walk to eating places and shops. Esplanade walking distance. Minor repairs needed toilet Roll holder was loose Shower extension leaking. We spotted baby cockcrohes.. It was a good place to stay.

Not sure how this hotel is maintaining a 4 star rating. Recently stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments. Whilst the apartment was very clean, it was uncomfortably empty. There were frustratingly no bedside tables or storage in either of the bedrooms, and therefore no lamps. It was literally just a bed and nothing else. We had to leave our suitcases on the floor and were unable to unpack as there were no drawers or shelves. The beds were made with a single top sheet and no blanket, and we could only find 3 spare blankets in the cupboard to add some warmth overnight - despite there being 5 occupants. The wifi was also broken, there was no dvd player and the living areas lacked any soft furnishings or wall decorations so the room had terrible noise acoustics. It looked nothing like the pictures online - it looks like an unfinished renovation. Check in also took over an hour as instructions were not sent through and the site in unstaffed so we were waiting outside in the rain. It has been very hard to contact the company and get any sort of resolution or support. We had friends staying in another apartment upstairs and their room was entirely different, with comfortable furniture, bedside tables and tasteful decor and lighting choices. For the price we paid, I do not think it’s worth the gamble of getting an empty prison cell of a room like we did. Better spend an extra $20 a night and be guaranteed blankets and bedside tables 👍🏻

If I could rate it 0 stars I would, Arrived and checked in to our room and straight away had a strong smell of cigarettes and mould, Then to go through and find that the kitchen was not even clean oven was covered in food kitchen wear dirty, Thought I would just deal with the smell went and bought spary to mask it when we arrived back from the shops noticed that in the kids room was the worst smell to find mushroom growing out the wall!! I contacted Greg from edge water apartments and the response i got was if I didn't like it I can leave within and hour and he will refund me, Pretty rude considering I spent $1500 for 4 nights and I couldn't even receive a clean room or an apology. Save your time book elsewhere
