We stayed here for a week between 13-20june. Great resort for families with kids. Kid friendly activites such as table tennis, playground, and 3 separate pools with a slide in one of the pools. Nice and quiet location away from the cbd. Plenty of parking and a short 5 mins walk to the bus stop which you can take to the cbd. Also a nice decent walk to the botanical garden. The standard twin room was fairly clean and decent for the price. Nothing was broken and had basic amenities such as soap, shampoo, towel, hair dryer, kettle, fridge, coffee, tea and milk
Overall, we would consider staying here again if we had children. As a couple in our 20s, we chose this hotel because it had the best reviews for the price and location. However, I wouldn’t describe it as a peaceful or relaxing hotel. We went down to the pool around 4:30 pm for a swim, but it was completely packed with children. I don’t mean the occasional child here and there—it genuinely felt like a school playground. It wasn’t relaxing at all, and with so many children jumping, splashing, and running around, I didn’t feel particularly comfortable or safe in the pool. Unfortunately, many of the parents seemed uninterested in supervising their children or addressing disruptive behaviour. The pool area was also left quite messy by several families, and although the staff eventually cleaned it up, it took some time. The rooms themselves were clean but fairly basic. They also became quite cold at night, and we had to request extra sheets to stay comfortable. Overall, this hotel is probably a great option for families, but couples looking for a quieter and more relaxing atmosphere may want to consider other options.
An excellent place to stay with kids. It is a large resort with 3 pools (kids love it), cafe, breakfast buffet etc. Rooms are spacious and well equipped: aircon, smart TV, fridge, cattle. Family rooms have a microwave. Room service is excellent, and staff is very friendly. If you need extra towels (3 pools!) - just ask, and they will bring them fresh and warm! Since it is a family friendly resort - expect lots of kids around, during a holiday season. It is located on a far side of a town, if you need to get to the city centre, you might need to use Uber. On the other hand, Cairns botanic gardens are just 1.4km.
The resort was genuinely enjoyable and was definitely a place I would recommend to anyone up that way. Rooms were well maintained, good presentation upon arrival. Access to and from rooms was flawless during our stay (provided you don't lose the keycard). Facilities were great, but a little long in the tooth per say. Pools were nice, but could do with some maintenance and landscape care. Bits and bobs really. Had dinner at the pool side bar. Fantastic food, couldn't complain. Vending machines located throughout reception and the resort for extra convenience. Overall a good place to stay. Gardens and buildings could do with a bit of external love, but nothing that was dangerous or unpleasant.
