If you book this activity in a language other than English, beware! Of all places, this is the one where I least expected an issue, especially in a city where Castilian Spanish is the main language. They wanted to change my reservation to a different time or date. While that might sound accommodating, I was on a cruise, which meant I had very limited time in the city. To make matters worse, while the rules prevent me from requesting changes without advanced notice, they tried to change my booking the night before. They offered to give me a refund via PayPal, to which I agreed, but I have not yet received it. What else can I say? It was very poorly organized.

Well informed and knowledgeable about his city Cádiz Sometimes his English was difficult to understand but overall excellent
Javier was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Cadiz. The tour was just the right length of time to grasp the city layout and understanding of the different occupants. Highly recommend!
A Fab walking tour of Cadiz - Javier was a great guide, who showed us all the main sites and an overview of Cadiz. The history he spoke about was engaging and dotted with humour and soo interesting. Loved the Mercado and all the squares and cannons! Would thoroughly recommend. He and his brother who run the business are locals and clearly passionate about their home city and it's historical past.
Javier was absolutely amazing! He's incredibly knowledgeable, and his love for the city shines through in the passion with which he tells its history. I wish all tour guides were like him. After the tour, he even walked us to a great spot to get food and translated for us. Such a wonderful experience! He and his brother only started out recently, which is why they don't have many reviews yet. Give them a chance. You won't be disappointed!
Our tour with Javier and Cadiz Tour JB was truly wonderful! Javier was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Cadiz and shared many interesting and fun stories of this oldest city in Western Europe (learned that fact from him today) as well as there is an American Base just opposed the Bay of Cadiz with the nickname of Little America. Cadiz led is through the maze of the old town and we saw beautiful churches as houses of wealthy merchants of old times. Cadiz is truly a hidden gem for our itinerary because we thought it is a little cruise port for cruise ships going to and from Mediterranean Sea and we could out it is actually a destination in its own right. We thank Javier for making this beautiful city coming alive for us and made our visit memorable. We giggled recommend Javier and Cadiz Tours JB!
A very good private tour of the area for the four of us. Tour guide was well versed in what to see and the history of Cadiz.
Really good tour! The cost vs value was fantastic! Excellent.
This was a very informative, tour. Guide was extremely helpful. Will go back to Cádiz, succumb a lovely place.
Thank you for your time. I know more about Cadiz than I do the town I am from! We didn’t get to the water. My knees gave up on me. But this was a great tour and Javier was a wonderful tour guide. He will not disappoint. We highly recommend this group! Cmyaggart
Highly recommend this tour of Cadiz. Javier is a knowledgeable guide who shares his knowledge in an accessible and engaging way. The tour takes in a number of key sites and locations in Cadiz with interesting and sometime very amusing stories about the history and quirks of the locale. Monty Python fans will appreciate the sense of humour particularly when the Spanish Inquisition makes an appearance in the stories. The tour is enhanced by the use of reproductions of historic photographs and paintings to help visualise the transitions in the city over time. And finishing off the tour with recommendations for local specialities in the Central Market tapas bars was a nice touch to round off this very professional and well presented tour. If you want a guide to Cadiz, Javier should be your first choice.
From meeting all the way through to our adventure our small group thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour guided trip and would thoroughly recommend to others, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide from Cadiz We wish you good luck building your new venture. Colin
This is the best way to learn about the history and culture of the wonderful city of Cadiz. My guide was Joaquin, who has always called Cadiz home. He was very knowledgeable and well spoken of his town of residence, with a book of many old pictures of Cadiz to gain an understanding of how the city has evolved through time. Joaquin is also a great person, who I enjoyed spending time with. We wandered throughout Cadiz, not only learning about things I wouldn't have otherwise noticed, but he offered many recommendations for places to eat and things to do later. Joaquin is the best!
Javier was a great guide. Friendly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Just starting up business with brother so definitely support as a local to Cadiz. Followed up trip with lots of links providing ideas for places to eat and visit

Highly recommended, one of the best tours we have ever done.

Perfect tour for history buffs to introduce you to Cadiz. Joaquin is friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was both fun and informative!
Joaquin the guide was very informative and nice. It was a great tour. He responded to our questions and gave us a lot of extra information to enhance the vacation. Like museums and best restaurants, even music and other sites he thought we would like. It was well worth the price.
It was worthwhile to learn the history of Cadiz so that we had a better understanding of what is there. A very knowledgeable guide who is passionate about Cadiz. We learned so much.
Javier made this easy and fun from start to finish. He was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. He also made sure I was comfortable the entire time. If the rest of our lives were only this fun. 🤣
Javier was funny, knowledgeable. He listened closely to the questions I asked and things I got excited about and adjusted his presentation and what we did accordingly. 10/10
Amazing historical tour with Joaquin. He shares such enthusiasm and passion for his native city. His knowledge of history is truly remarkable and he helps visualize the past through incorporating many authentic old photos and paintings throughout the tour. As a local he also provides wonderful recommendations for authentic shops and restaurants. I definitely highly recommend!

A brilliant tour and incredible value for money
Excellent tour with Joaquin, a local guide with a real love for his city. He was very knowledgeable, gave us a real insight into the history of Cádiz through pictures and storytelling and spoke excellent English.
Joaquinn our guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable - no gimmic microphones for large groups just kept it small so we had time to listen and enjoy the political history and social history of Cadiz -
We had a fantastic city tour of Cadiz. Joaquin our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about his city. His use of old pictures and drawings helped explain some of the information he was sharing. As the best guides do he pointed out things you wouldn't have seen or noticed without his help. He was really helpful to us in explaining with diagrams and notes how to get to the meeting point from our hotel which was a little further away from the town centre. Excellent value for money and highly recommend.
Joaquin was really good, he is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell he loves his city. He had great visuals, pictures of how it used to look. I really enjoyed this tour.
Excellent tour with local guide. Showed us well known and lesser known areas of Cadiz. His English was very good.
I really enjoyed this walking tour. Joaquin was wonderful, he is very knowledgeable and his stories and pictures made it even more enjoyable. I was the only one who signed up for the time slot I needed and I was grateful he didn’t cancel on me. I had been wandering the streets on my own and he showed me so many things I had walk by and didn’t notice. There is so much history here. Thank you Joaquin, you did a fantastic job!
Our guide Joaquin was superb. He was full of knowledge and great enthusiasm for the city that he obviously loves. It was fun, informative and luckily for us, only 3 tourists, so very personal. I would highly recommend and please give him a nice tip as it is great value. Paul & Sara x
Fabulous tour! Javier was so knowledgeable and brought the history of the city to life with stories and pictures that were entertaining and informative. The tour showed parts of the city that we now want to explore further… and it ended in the superb food market where we then tried the local beer and food.
Javier was an excellent guide, full of knowledge and spoke excellent English. He carried with him pictures of various sites from past eras which really helped see how the city had changed and also in some cases, stayed the same. I can’t recommend this tour enough. A fantastic way to see Cadiz
We met Javier today for our 2 hour walk. We virtually had a private guide as there was only two of us. Javier was very informative and clearly very passionate about his town of Cadiz. Thankyou Javier.

Joaquín was really knowledgable and passionate about Cadiz. We saw areas of the city we probably wouldn’t have within him and he showed us the history of merchant houses, the market etc and had old photos to illustrate how things had been. We enjoyed the tour a lot!
We decided to go on a walking tour of Cadiz as it’s our first visit. Javier was very knowledgeable about Cadiz and its history. We were part of a group of 5 people. We walked to all the main attractions and got a real feel for Cadiz. Javier passed on recommendations for food & places to eat. We would definitely recommend this trip

Joaquin gave us a very interesting view of Cadiz….and historical tour… pointing out facts and showing how life was for it’s citizens.. highly recommended 👍
Lovely, well informed, young guide appointed by Viator but some distance walked to meeting point. Visited historical sites in detail. A great relief after after poorly advised cancellation of a previous, very important tour from Vigo to Santiago de Compostela.
Great walking tour with Joaquin. Very informative & nice company. Good visuals to assist. Thankyou ...

The tour was great, I had a fantastic time. I would definitely take the tour again if I visit Cadiz in the future and would highly recommend to anyone interested. Thanks Joaquin for a great day!
Fantastic tour amazing historic venue explanations
We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Cadiz with Joaquín. Joaquín took us around his old town telling tales of how the Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, Spanish royalty, traders with the New World, Napoleonic French, British and others (even a handful of Irish) all left their mark as Cadiz's prosperity, power and influence rose and fell over the millenia. We heard how the basements, selection of stones in the walls, street corner adornments, balconies and rooftops all had their own hidden meanings. We do love a good city walking tour and this one was great. Andrew and Lorna, Dublin
Great walking tour in old town of Cadiz with Javier Bonnemaison Correas. I highly recommend to use them. Very good knowledge of history of Cádiz as well as Europe and the old world.
It was great to get to know the city throught the eyes of a local historian. Very informative and also amusing, we saw how the city looked, what the people of Cadiz did, how they trade... Superb experience.
