Itinerary
Join us for this 3-hour long food tour across this Mediterranean gem: Cadiz! You will enjoy a delicious walking tapas tour in at least 4 stops. All food included! Please, bear in mind that the tastings here described may change according to the season and the availabilities of our partners.
On the way to the first stop, you'll see the ruins of the Roman Theatre of Cádiz, one of the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. Dating back to 70 B.C., it could host around 10,000 guests.
After this first historical stop, we’ll head to the Central Market, where locals run their errands and buy fresh ingredients to cook at home. Here you'll enjoy pescaíto frito, a culinary treasure showcasing the region's love for fresh seafood. This dish features a delightful assortment of small fish—often including tiny whitebait and anchovies—lightly battered and fried to golden perfection. The result is a crispy, addictive treat bursting with ocean flavor!
You'll pass by Torre Tavira, an 18th-century tower that hosts panoramic viewpoints and exhibition rooms, on your way to our next stop: one of the city’s most traditional bakeries and pastry shops, founded in 1961. Here, you’ll discover some sweet treats to take away and enjoy at the end of your tour—finishing on a sweet note!
Plaza de San Antonio is one of the most central squares in town, full of political and patriotic meaning. In fact, here in 1812 the Constitution was promulged! Nearby, you will visit a tapas bar where you'll taste tapas like Papas aliñás: a delicious and refreshing twist on potato salad that perfectly captures the essence of Andalusian cuisine. These tender, boiled potatoes are lovingly tossed with a vibrant mix of olive oil, vinegar, fresh parsley, and a sprinkle of salt, creating a dish that’s both simple and bursting with flavor. Often adorned with capers or onions, papas aliñás are the perfect accompaniment to seafood or enjoyed on their own as a light snack. With their delightful combination of textures and zesty notes, they offer a taste of the sunny Mediterranean right on your plate!
Plaza de Mina is one of the most emblematic and greenest squares in the city, thanks to its stunning 18th- and 19th-century buildings and lush vegetation—some trees are over 100 years old! Nearby, enjoy a range of local tapas in a restaurant offering authentic Andalusian flavors.
We will come back near the starting point, the majestic Cadiz City Hall with its white facade and its surrounding monuments, such as the Arco del Populo or the San Juan de Dios Church. In a local shop nearby, we will end our culinary adventure with a taste of sherry, the traditional drink from Cadiz. Raise a glass to Andalusian cuisine!

Judy was great as our Food Tour guide, fun & friendly with great historical knowledge. Judy even took us to see the archeological dig of the Roman amphitheater's and to where the Romans would have processed and preserved their fish in salt. The food stops were interesting and very tasty. Would highly recommended this food tour. Great way to see Cadiz.
This was by far the worst food tour we have ever experienced. It started with the meeting place. We were instructed to meet in front of City Hall. Now mind you City Hall is quite large and there were many people loitering around in groups. We finally had to go to a group of people and ask if this was the food tour. It was. However, no signage just people talking. Two of our group had to text the leader and ask where she was. It turns out they were standing no more than 20 yards away. Why not have a sign? Our leader Estrella was very nice and she tried. However she was suffering from a cold and her English was not very good. These two things made it very difficult to understand her. We missed probably half of the things she said. This is advertised as a walking food tour. Nowhere does it say how difficult the walk was. It had several steep hills and many uneven surfaces. As a result some people in the group had trouble keeping up. In every other food tour I have taken (more than 10!) you walk to a restaurant or cafe or stand and they are waiting for you. Tables are set and food is presented. Not at this one. We arrived at our first stop and had to scramble to find tables. We finally managed to secure three tables of four close to each other as there were twelve in our group. Estrella then took drink orders. After drinks were served she started to place food in front of us. She didn’t describe what we were eating until after we were about halfway done as she was busy serving the other tables. Now our table had four pretty good eaters. The other tables were a little more finicky. So Estrella took food from their table and placed it on ours. Yikes! Our next stop was a sweet shop. She would describe one thing and ask who wanted it. Then she would go to the next item. Now mind you, you only got one choice. So instead of describing everything and then asking, she did it this way. Very disorganized, When we got to our next stop Estrella went inside and there were only two seats. Needless to say we didn’t stop there. So much for pre planning. So we proceeded to another area where we again had to scramble to rearrange seating. Estrella took drink orders and asked if ham and cheese sandwiches would be OK. No one objected. Well, the sandwiches didn’t arrive but a large charcuterie tray did along with crackers and several small loaves of bread. So much for the sandwiches….or so we thought. After everyone was pretty full from the charcuterie out comes a tray of several different kinds of sandwiches. Many of them went uneaten. By this time we were over three hours into this poorly organized tour so when we got to our next stop we tipped Estrella and left. Another thing about this tour was that it was set up to end at 3 or 3:30. Well in Cádiz, siesta time is 2-5. When the tour ended many of the shops were closed. Yet another example of poor planning.
Great day in Cadiz with Judy. She took care of us and was very informative. The food and drinks were great. It was a wonderful day!
We had such a great time on this food tour! Judy was a wonderful guide & host. She's kind, knowledgeable, and organized. She gave us information about the historic sites on our way to the venues. We had fried choco, dogfish, and tortillitas de camarones (shrimp fritters) at our first stop. Our second stop was a bar where we had delicious boquerones and goat cheese before moving onto a third venue where we were treated to olives, fabulous pork cheeks, and Iberico ham. We had a choice of wine, beer, water, etc. at each place. We ended the tour with excellent gelato. We were so full by the end that we skipped dinner.
Great. Our guide Carla was very knowledgeable and really friendly. She was super helpful in organising different foods to match our likes when the standard option didn’t
If you are expecting a food or foodie tour you will be very disappointed. The food you are given for the money you paid is really quite shocking! There is a lot of walking - we did 8000 steps so if you have mobility issues this is not for you. I would not recommend this at all, sorry.
Our Tour Guide Estrella did a phenomenal job showing us Cadiz. She was very knowledgeable and made sure the group moved along together. She answered every question with great disposition and an open smile 💕 And on top of that, there was a lot of delicious local food and drinks. I would totally recommend this tour as you will definitely get great service snd food. I also loved that it had a nice pace without being to hectic
Excellent guide with a wealth of experience and insights! Estrella was fantastic!
I went with my son on this food tour which was guided by Judy. It exceeded all my expectations. Judy is very friendly and easy to talk to. The day started with a tour of the oldest settlement in Cádiz where Judy gave us a quick history of ancient Cádiz, which was pitched at the right level.. We then visited a market stall, tapas bars, a confectioner’s and an ice cream café to taste the local delicacies. This was a most enjoyable way to explore Cádiz and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Really nice and informative tour with guide Estrella. Good food!
Excellent tour complete with knowledge of the area and excellent food stops with Estrella.
My dad and I had a fantastic tour with Judy. She chose some brilliant places to eat, which we wouldn’t have discovered ourselves and lovely food to try Her knowledge of Cádiz and its history added so much to the experience. It was interesting, relaxed and a great way to get to know the city as well as its food. Judy was a great guide and we couldn’t recommend her enough.
Estrella is an exceptionally professional guide with extensive knowledge of the country's history, and the food provided was truly delicious.

We had a fantastic afternoon with our tour guide Carla. She is a wealth of knowledge and knows her way around the narrow streets. The foods stops did not disappoint. The candy store and gelato shop stops were delicious as well. Definitely book this tour!
Estrellia was a fantastic guide, great tour (and we have done many food tours around the world), this one we will remember for ever! Estrellia is a star!
We had a fabulous day with Estrellia! A food tour with lots of historical facts about Cádiz! Highly recommend this tour.

Had a fantastic afternoon with Carla walking around Cadiz old town. Carla was a great guide with just enough history to keep you entertained and so much delicious food. Would definitely do this tour if you're on Cadiz for a few days!
Was able to get.a tour the day before which was great. Just was a wonderful guide food was great and we got something to take with us too. Showed us suggestions post our tour that were great as well. Highly recommend
A fun day experiencing a wide variety of food & beverages while learning about the history & stories of Cádiz & Spain. Carla, our guide was engaging & full of knowledge. She even followed up with a message to me with the recipe for Tinto de Verano (a good adult beverage). An easy walk to the meeting point from the cruise ship terminal. Come hungry!
Plenty of food, some high level history of Cadiz and plenty of tips on things to do after the tour. Guide was also very friendly.
Carla was a great experienced tour guide and super knowledgeable local. She took us on a tour with history lessons and points of interest. Then we went to the main marketplace and ate wonderful food tapas of things I never had before, fabulous local caught fish and local wine. Afterwards we toured the fish market and then went to another restaurant for more tasty tapas . Topping it off was a sherry tasting with more fried pork tapas. Carla treated us to a fine day and we highly recommend thus tour!
Carla.was an awesome guide. Great tasty bites and drinks.
Cadiz walking tour with frequent tapas and wine sampling! Delicious wine and beer options that are all inclusive
We enjoyed a lovely tour with Carla. She was very warm and friendly and gave us lots of information about Cadiz, it's history, people and culture in a very informal way. The route was well planned and we were really happy with the food and drink recommendations. We enjoyed local specialities which we would not have done without her guidance. I would highly recommend the tour.
Just back from this fabulous tour with Carla. The day was a perfect mix of history, culture, local food and drink. Carla was very warm and friendly and made us feel like we were walking with an old friend. The stops for food and drink were excellent and the tour was well thought out. An excellent way to see the real Cadiz. Highly recommended.
Great day -Estrella was great!
Estralia was wonderful!! Great day!
Great time and great guide. There were a total of 6 People who never met prior and all had a fantastic time
Judy was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Took time to ensure everyone had had time to enjoy the food and drink. Nice pace and able to orientate us to navigate the maze of Medieval streets that is Cadiz! Lots of interesting facts and very enjoyable way to pass afternoon
What a great tour! The perfect mix of food, drink and history. We wandered the streets of Cadiz sampling the local dishes and learning about the culture for a good 3-4hrs. Our guide Judith was very knowledgeable and showed us some great places that we will be returning to!

Judith our guide was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We sampled some excellent food and drinks coupled with some interesting facts and anecdotes about Cádiz. Would definitely recommend
Estrella was a fantastic tour guide very knowledgeable and personable. We had lots of fantastic food and got to learn a lot about the city of Cádiz as well. A very worthwhile tour that I would recommend to anyone visiting Cadiz
Fun day, Estrella was engaging and knowledgeable, great food and plenty of it. Would recommend
Wow what a lovely excursion! Judy was very informative and explained everything that was needed to make this trip one of the best eating tours I’ve been on. From the locations chosen to the historical facts we couldn’t have asked for more 😊
We absolutely loved our tour with Judy. It was such a great afternoon of conversation, delicious fresh food, local drinks, and very interesting history and information about Cádiz and the area. It felt like a comfortable and familiar gathering among friends with Judy and our group. She was also very helpful with recommendations for other local delights that we will be sure to check out on our own before we leave this beautiful city. I can’t recommend this tour more. It was perfectly balanced. Thank you, Judy.
We had a fantastic experience on our Cádiz walking and tapas tour! Our guide, Carla, was wonderful—extremely knowledgeable, informative, and engaging. She brought the history and culture of Cádiz to life while making the tour fun and relaxed. The tapas stops were excellent, and every food stop was thoughtfully chosen. Everything we tasted was delicious, and it was a great way to experience the local flavors and specialties of Cádiz. Carla really made the experience special with her knowledge and enthusiasm. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour from beginning to end and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cádiz. A perfect combination of history, culture, great food, and a fantastic guide!
I was not able to do this walking tour as I had a bad fall several hours before & i hurt my knee. I am a 70 yr old man with mobility issues. Walking was painful. Contacted the company but they refused to refund me. No compassion shown. They need to make allowance for these unforseen accidents. Lost about 200 euro. Very disappointed
Good Tour. Nice guide. I would recommend to anyone looking for something a little different to do. Fun
Had a great time with Carla. Good food and good history lesson of Cadiz. Loved the fish market.
Had an amazing afternoon; Carla was absolutely lovely and told the group a lot about Cadiz. She even made sure I got to try the boquerones after I told her they were out of them in the restaurant the day before. During the walk, Carla kept suggesting some activities to do after the tour, but also some other food places for another moment during my time in Cadiz. Thanks Carla for the amezing time!
Excellent experience. More historical information about Cádiz than I anticipated but very informative and enjoyable. Plenty of food between the four stops. More than most people could eat! Estelia was extremely pleasant and informative, and introduced us to more delicacies than we would have known about.
It was really good but a little bit different than expected. It has more history of Cádiz, and less food focus. We did however get some good food and desserts. Enjoyed it a lot and the guide was great.
